Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. This place is good little around the corner deli. The couple who owns it Mr. and Mrs. Lee are extremely pleasant people. They serve a variety of sandwiches, chili dogs, and sweet and sour chicken. The french fries are really good because of the seasoning they sprinkle on them. It is one of favorite places to get a sandwich on the go. I usually order a turkey on dark bread with sharp cheddar or provolone and spicy mustard. They are pretty quick since it is only the two of them cooking. Give it a shot!

Great corned beef hash. Over easy eggs were perfect and hash browns were great too. Even the toast was buttered right. This is my new breakfast spot!

Very happy this place is close to our new house. Love that they serve breakfast until 4 p.m. I had a delicious Greek omelet with the house potatoes. Potatoes are delicious with lots of herbs and capers. My husband had a very good chicken Philly sandwich. Both of our meals and two sodas were under $20. Our server, Danielle, was very friendly and helpful. Such a happy surprise to find such a nice little diner. I've lived in Knoxville off and on for 15 years and noticed this place before, but for some reason never thought to give it a try. Friendly and laid back with delicious food!

I want to update now several months after my first visit. I have been here at least 15 times over the last few months, typically for breakfast. The breakfast is really the best you'll get for diner-y, cheap breakfast in Knoxville (not including the various "country ktichen" places -this is deli breakfast). The Southern Scrambled eggs are a favorite of mine - mixed in is cream cheese and chives. I wish the Rye bread was better quality, as that's what I always have for my toast. The Colonels potatoes are a must-order, fried crisp brown but soft and creamy in the center, with capers and onions. The Mediterrenean breakfast is fantastic and huge - fresh hummus, warm pita, fried egg, and delish Greek salad. Non-breakfast, I have tried a burger and a patty melt and both were divine. The fries are your typical crinkle cuts which means if you have any sense at all, you know you have to dump the salt on those suckers while they're still hot so the greasy crispy-ness will soak it up. Mmmm.

YUM. This breakfast spot is "triple D" worthy for sure! We went for Sunday brunch and I had the greek omelet which was amazing. My husband had biscuits and gravy with Colonel's potatoes and they were an awesome blend of spices, butter, capers and deliciousness. Must visit this dive in knoxville!

Hard to find a "Mom and Pop shop" here in Knoxville. This is the land of the chain restaurants, unfortunately. I've eaten here several times and have never had the same thing twice. Everything I've had is outstanding! The owner is a sweetheart and the wait staff is always pleasant. Fast service that doesn't sacrifice quality. The look of the place is very unassuming. Don't be deterred by the curb appeal. Give this place a shot...I promise you won't leave disappointed.

My daughter and I passed by again today, 9-9-15, for lunch. We arrived a bit past noon to a crowded restaurant. The reuben was terrific. I suggest arriving closer to 1:00 to avoid the rush. They are planning to serve dinner a few nights each week. I question the wisdom of of staggered hours. Starting in October, Tuesday through Thursday their hours will be 4 to 8. The other days they will serve breakfast and lunch. I question the wisdom of odd hours. I tend to go at different times not paying attention to what day of the week I happen to arrive. I hope it works out. I can not believe I have lived in Sequoyah hills for almost ten years and never tried this spot. Maybe it was because of its unassuming exterior. We stopped in I had the lunch special a beef melt and a side of their home fries and my daughter had pancakes, bacon eggs. By far, the pancakes were the best in town. Next incredible dish were the home fries, a must try they are very unique. The bacon was to my daughters liking, as crispy as it gets. And in the end, the check is a pleasant surprise.

Best omelettes and Greek food in Knoxville. Now only open from 8am-3pm. Breakfast served all day. Now under new management. Received 100% on health inspector!!

Stopped by on a whim for a quick lunch. Basic cafe seating, but food was a notch above! Greek gyros very good, friendly staff. Also had a vegan plate with tasty humus and stuffed grape leaves. Will definitely return to try out breakfast menu. Prices were excellent. Recommend you give them a try.

Had bkfst here after reading all the great reviews. It's a solid 3-stars in my book but no more. Decent food, good prices, and fantastic service but, not the best in any category. + service was exceptional; warm and friendly + bkfst potatoes were excellent; not the best I've ever had but in the neighborhood - food is a bit too heavy

Best kept secret in Knoxville. Delicious all day breakfast. Colonel's potatoes are enough to keep you coming.

Who would have thought looking by the name this place would have such good Greek food. It is a hole in the wall diner but I prefer it over Pete's. The Mediterranean breakfast platter fills you up and tastes so good, and yet I feel strangely healthy after eating it. Comes with Greek salad, hummus, eggs and homemade pita. I'm not the sort of person who recommends much less ever says "what a great salad" but the combination of feta and their secret dressing they make is unreal. I've taken people from work and they all agree. Can't vouch for anything else because I refuse to get anything else.

I probably just had the best breakfast I've had in 20, maybe 25 years. Mediterranean breakfast with 3 eggs, a generous portion of really flavorful hummus with olive oil drizzled over the top, and a large salad of tomato, cucumber, feta, and some spices, plus a nicely warmed pita to push all this Greeky goodness on to my fork. Add friendly service with timely coffee refills and you can begin to see why this is THE go-to place for breakfast in knoxville. Oh, and ALWAYS order the house potatoes if they don't come with your meal. Home fries with capers, onions, and spices...excellent. I'll have Greek breath for a week. But it's the good kind of Greek breath.

Our favorite breakfast / brunch place. The Mediterranean breakfast is great! Breakfast served all day. Unfortunately it closes at 4pm. Wish it was open on Sundays.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this place, considering I've driven by it countless times and written it off. I went here for a Saturday lunch and it was absolutely great. I had a gyro with fries as the restaurant specializes in Greek food in addition to deli and breakfast food. It was amazing. It was fresh, served as soon as it was done cooking, and the tzatziki sauce was insane - I could see the fresh dill in it, which is something I can't say for a lot of other gyro places. The crinkle fries were nice and crispy and seasoned with the perfect amount. BF had a breakfast burrito with ham, which did not skimp on eggs and was equally delicious, just enough kick with the salsa and jalapenos. The potatoes were also seasoned perfectly. After our meal, our waitress brought us a sample of apple chessman's dessert for free, which was a great end to our meal. The tab came to less than $17. Service was beyond friendly. This place is a hidden gem. I hope enough people find out about this place to keep it open but not too busy! Definitely adding it to our list of breakfast favorites and can't wait to go back.

Disappointing. I have heard about this place for years but never been here. Had the gyro for lunch. The gyro meat was the thin sliced prefab type not the type that cooks on a spit. Not that tasty. I would consider going back to try the breakfast but the gyro just didn't do it for me.

It almost pains me to only give this great place only three stars. The quality is consistent and the prices are great. The service is good and the atmosphere is what I like....but. But, that's about it. Nothing terribly unique. Maybe the Monte Cristo style blt, but that's about it. Love the breakfast potatoes with Greek spice. Absolutely go eat here. I do every chance I get. It's just not fourth star worthy, sorry.

The wraps are very tasty and the service is fantastic. My only criticism comes with my side dish of broccoli which was overdone. However, they made up for this by using lemon as an added flavoring to the broccoli which was much appreciated.

The best breakfast around! The Health Lover's Omlette is beyond tasty----cooked in olive oil, the perfect amount of garlic, feta, spinach, etc..., paired with Colonel Potatoes and pita bread---A PERFECT way to start the day! Sunday hours would be great! ;)

I had drove past probably 50 times over the last couple years and never thought much of it. One random gloomy day I decided to stop for lunch and this place brightened my day!! I had the FRENCHIE with a side of potatoes and some coffee my bill ended up under $9. The sandwich was french toast, roasted turkey, swiss cheese and bacon served with a side of maple syrup. I didnt think it needed the syrup was great just by itself. Truly amazed with the simplicity of the surroundings and amazing food on your table. I must see!!!

TLDR: Casual, unassuming diner, with solid food and decent portions at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend the pita and the greek-style breakfast potatoes if you're there for breakfast (served all day). Gyro meat and omelettes left a little to be desired. Full Review: Came in for a Saturday morning breakfast. The decor is standard family-owned diner, which you would expect. There were no others there other than the two folks working when we arrived. The owner was sitting at a table reading the paper and the lone server was doing some daily prep. I liked the feel overall, casual and unassuming. The server asked if we had been in before and we said we hadn't so she walked us through some options. They had some interesting specials but the server recommended the omelettes so we opted for those. I had the Gyro Omelette with spinach added, which was on special and my wife had the Greek Omelette. The owner popped up from where he was reading the paper and went about cooking our food. We received it promptly. The omelettes come with the option of greek-style breakfast potatoes or hashbrowns and toast, biscuits, or pita. We opted for the potatoes and the pita. The omelettes were ok. They are the type of omelettes where all the filling is mixed in with the egg rather than folded inside. This is not my favorite method for omelette production. Additionally the gyro meat appeared to be the pre-packaged stuff, not the spindle gyro meat, though it was surprisingly tender. The greek potatoes were pretty bangin, though, with oregano and maybe a few other spices that gave them a zip you don't have in the morning often. The pita, quite surprisingly, was the best thing on the plate. I mean, it was remarkably good. They had a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside thing going on that was dynamite, and when you tossed some omelette on them with some hot sauce, the combination rocked my world. The prices were definitely a value (under 7 for the omelette, potatoes, and pita), and the portions were decent size. The lackluster omelette and cookie cutter gyro meat kept it at three stars, but I'll definitely go back. Good place.
