This Pal's location is a drive thru only. The hot dogs, sauceburgers and frys are the best! My son loves the Big Chicken. The tea is traditional Southern Sweet-Tea too. My favorite is the hot dogs. They have chili and onions standard. These are the best I've ever had! When we drive up to visit family I stop by Pal's first, the family can wait.

I love the Big Pal with cheese. The big Chicken s another favorite of mime. Last but not least their Frenchie fries are the bomb!

Frenchie fries and the chili bun minus the hot dog. Yummy! if you haven't been, you've gotta try it. Plus, you can get a great picture to post somewhere!

this is the best food in the world! the frenchie fries and cheese burgers are to die for. when i drive home to see my family i always go to pals and get 4 gallons of sweet tea to take home :) along with 2 or 3 jr burgers and a few bags of frenchie fries. If the big hot dog and burger on the building don't make you smile the people working there will. ive never been to a pals where the people have bee rude or unfriendly. Its always great and fast service. I wish they would put one closer to me.

i know that i am a local, but let me just say that when the kids come home from college, the all go by Pals on the way home and on the way back. big chicken, fry and sweet tea are my favs

Nothing like it anywhere else! We love the food, the service, and the whole experience!

I only gave this place three stars because they don't serve turkey burgers or black bean burgers. Visiting this area, I had to stop by and at least try the fries and the tea. The locals are right. The service is fast and hot. I thoroughly enjoyed my fries and peach tea:) FYI: The fries kinda taste like McDonalds fries with seasoning salt.

This place is amazing... My first trip was ten years ago in college on a road trip, and now I make it a regular stop on any trip! The big chicken is my favorite... Frenchie fries and sweet tea are a must. Burgers are awesome, and breakfast is dreamy too! You really can't go wrong. And the building is so adorable. I'm in love, and wish they would branch out to middle Tennessee!

We have been driving by Pal's for years and finally stopped for a quick bite. There is no inside seating which may make you pass it by but if you are doing a road trip and need something quick this is a gem. Hubs had the big pal with cheese and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. I was wanting to get a little crazy and try a few options so I did the jr pal and hotdog. My jr was great and my dog was snappy gotta have a good snap to make me happy. It was a little bland and maybe should have tried the chili dog but eating a chili dog in the car seemed a bit intimidating for this go around. I'm a big fan of shredded lettuce and so I was pumped to see that on my burg. The best by far were the frenchy fries. Tasty little morsels with a light dust of secret seasoning which if I had to guess was maybe season salt. They are comparable to McDs fries but the seasoning set these little treats off the hook. Overall great... 4 stars because let's face it we are still talking fast food here.

For a french guy it's an experience, first Kingsport TN is an experience :) The food was good, except there is nothing to seat, it's unfortunate to be only a drive-in. I hate to eat in my car! :) Just some table outside and a small parking will give 5 stars. I will be back there in few months to pick up an abandoned motorcycle, so I think I will make my second appearance to this spot!

A must if you live in Kingsport. Their fries and cheddar rounds are heavenly. Big Pal and hot dog is also great. Sweet tea is delicious. I prefer their breakfast but their lunch is also good

One of the best fast food placed I have ever been to!!! The frenchy fries are amazing like they are dusted in crawfish boil (I'm from Louisiana so it was awesome) and the burger was sooooo huge!!! Great staff too!

On our long drive to Tennessee, it was time to stop for some gas and grab a quick bite to eat. We passed by the usual chains- McDonalds, Arbys, etc. Out of nowhere we see this wacky building with a huge structure of a hot dog, soda, fries, and hamburger on it. That definitely grabbed our attention. We have never heard of Pal's before and so I took out my trusty Yelp app. I was so happy to see that three Yelpers had already reviewed this place. After reading Elizabeth B, Barron D, and Chuck L's reviews, I knew I had to give this place a try. Thanks for the recommendations guys! There is no seating available at this location, it's drive-through only. The gentleman who took our order was friendly and quick. Once we drove over to the pick-up window, within minutes our food was ready. They really follow their motto of "sudden service." The lady at the pick-up window was also very sweet. We decided to try their Hot Dogs ($1.69), a Big Pal w/ cheese ($3.29), Large Frenchie Fries ($1.79), and Sweet Tea ($0.99). The Big Pal was tasty. It isn't the best burger I've ever tasted but it's definitely far from the worst. I appreciate that it wasn't greasy and doesn't leave you feeling heavy like some of the other burger joints. When I ordered a Hot Dog, I figured it would be just a plain sausage in a bun. If you order a Hot Dog from Pal's, that means chili, mustard, and onions come with it as well. How nice! A bit messy, but delicious. I absolutely love their Frenchie Fries. They are thinly cut, warm, crisp, and seasoned with special spices. There is more than just a sprinkle of salt on these fries. I'm not sure what's in the seasoning, but these fries are addicting. I'm so glad we got a chance to try out Pal's.

Came here with my grandpa and the family while we were visiting him in Kingsport. My grandpa raves about the strawberry shakes here so I figured I'd have to try at least a shake. Got the burger with cheese, an order of fries, and a chocolate milkshake. The burger was good. It was interesting because the only condiment on it was mayonnaise (as opposed to ketchup and/or mustard). The burger was alright, neither wonderful nor terrible. The real standout was the fries. Crispy and perfectly seasoned with what tasted like seasoned salt. So good. The milkshake was also good, better than most you'll get from a fast food place.

It seems silly to even write a review for Pal's. If you have ever been to SW VA or NE TN, you have eaten here. I am writing this review just in case somebody is driving through and wondering where they should go to get some food. This is a regional fast food chain that serves delicious fast food fare in a drive thru. The owner is local and lives in the area. He (and his family) has operated the chain for many years now and even winning a prestigious national quality award (Malcolm Baldridge). The building is unforgettable as light blue tiled terraced building that has giant hot dog, hamburger, fries, and drink on it. Your kids will be the first to mention this to you. The first window, you place your order. At the second window, you pay and receive your order. Service is as they say "sudden". The menu - ahh, the menu. It is anchored by the fries which have some type of season salt (embelisshed with crack, apparently because it is so good). I prefer the Junior Pal with cheese. You could also get the Big Pal and they even have a double Big Pal if you wish to have protein overload. Other interesting items include the chipped ham, sauceburger, and the chili dog. A simple menu with just a few items but all of them done right. Of course, what trip would not be complete without a sweet tea? Get it here folks, cause it is good. This is southern sweet tea, with sugar infused. Having grown up in this area, every time I come back, this is where I go to relieve my memories.

Five stars all because of their fries!!!! THEE BEST!!! Any time I'm really hungry, Pal's is on top of my list... I love their chilli dog too

The burgers and hotdogs are good and the service is super fast, but the five stars in this review really are due to The Frenchy Fries. They are perfectly cooked. I don't know what they season them with, but they are fabulous. We can't resist stopping by for fries a few times whenever we're in town for the weekend.

Pal's is the hidden little gem of SW VA and NE TN. Their breakfast and lunch/dinner menus are very simple, and everything I've tried is great to amazing. Try: The Big Pal burger or a Double Big Pal. It's the best burger that I've ever had from a fast food place, and yes, I've been to In and Out a few times. It's hard to explain, it's just that good. The ingredients are fresh, and the burgers are made individually to order like 5 guys, but much better. The Frenchie Fries. The best fries in the business, hands down in my opinion. Think OG Mickey D's fries before the trans fat ban, except with their own special seasoning salt. Always crispy, never soggy, I don't know how they do it! The Milkshake. The milkshake is definitely really good. I'm not a huge milkshake fan, but I always get one here whenever I go through Pal's. It's just awesome.....I'd say the best milkshake in the business as well, but I don't want people to think I work for Pal's now lol. The Sweet tea. Great tea that they brew themselves. Very good, but definitely not the best I've had haha. Pal's is drive-thru only, and sometimes the lines can be lengthy. However, the food is well worth the wait. Fresh ingredients and always hot, I can definitely say you won't be disappointed with Pal's if you are ever in the area.
