I had a special event in the area and wanted to feed the crew something local. Called the restaurant and they worked out a deal with me for 11pm pick up even though they closed at 7pm. Not only did they give me more than I originally asked for, the guy also met our lead singer and went back and made him a special order, then delivered it!! The crew is not easily impressed but they loved the food! Go here!

I was in Kingsport and picked up some bbq to take back home. Had high expectations based on the reviews but it wasn't very good. Pulled pork was dried out and tasted like it had been microwaved. My toddler, who loves bbq normally, did not like it either. The sides were OK but nothing special.

Stopped by at Kingsport on our way home and found this place. Good food and fast service. Staff were very nice and caring. Great dining experience.

So I have been to this place twice and my conclusion is: it's fabulous. The first time I came, the manager or owner was there, and he brought out food, brought out utensils, and anything else that anyone would need. Not only that, he was extremely nice and helpful. The girls that were running the food along with the register were also on top of it. Very generous and courteous. Now to the food. The first time I was here I ordered the brisket sandwich and man was it good. The pork tasted so fresh and had that great barbecue sent and flavor. This time I ordered the 1/4 ribs along with the green beans and the homemade chips. Not to mention there were two perfectly toasted pieces of bread that went along with this meal. The ribs were cooked to perfection. Not too wet, not too dry. And I thought the portions of the food that I received with this plate or very solid. And of course my favorite, a big Styrofoam cup of sweet tea on the run. I don't think you could ask for a better place to eat lunch on any given day then this place. Not to mention, it is a Christian run restaurant which I appreciate.

The place I go in Kingsport for BBQ. Great atmosphere, lots of sauce choices, and friendly employees. I usually go for the pulled pork platter. This option comes with a generous portion of pork and two sides for about $12. The highlight for me is definitely the sauce, sweet and bold being my favorite. I got the ribs once and wasn't impressed but the pulled pork is quite good.

In town for business and we were in the mood for some Q! This place puts on a good show, but the food is not good. We had ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. First off the portions of the side dishes were larger than the main meat portion. Sides are from a can and not homemade. Meat was bland and very very dry. None of it looked appetizing. Banana pudding was so runny that we had to return it. They gave us our money back for the pudding.

I was in Kingsport this week for business and wanted something good. Saw this little gem on Yelp and made the treck over from the hotel. I am very glad I did. I am from Texas originally, so BBQ is all about the smoke. The brisket (new item for them) was moist and had a deep smoky flavor. They also have a great side called BBQ slaw (dry slaw with a Carolina BBQ sauce). The staff is very friendly and service was quick. I'll be back.

(3.5 Stars) I feel like the city of Kingsport deserves the use of its own "3.5-star" since every place I've been has been between "A-OK" and "Yay! I'm a fan" ... Braeden's is no exception. My friend and I split a full rack of ribs and the pulled pork dinner. The ribs: I got the really nice and meaty bones of the rack, his weren't as nice; my ribs weren't fatty, just meaty goodness.... not covered in bbq sauce either. instead, you get to choose from a selection of five bbq sauces (house, hot and spicy, honey, dark(?), and something else...) The pork: decent flavor, and like my ribs, not fatty The sides: baked beans (good if you like beans); homemade chips (great!); fries (great!); texas toast (buttered bread??) and bbq coleslaw (bleh: vinegary and gross [to me] but good if you like vinegared cabbage..) The drinks: no alcohol served! but great fountain soda :) (~$30 excluding tax and tip for the ribs, pork, sides, and two sodas) this place came recommended from a stranger on the airplane. I'd definitely come back.. (if i'm ever in kingsport, that is). it's a small, non-fancy, homey place to get some decent bbq.

This is my favorite barbeque place in Kingsport. The barbeque is very good. I like less greasy or lean meet so this is the place. They also have homemade chips. If you show up and there is a line, get in it. It will go fast and by the time you order a table will open up. Every employee is friendly and the owner typically walks around and greats everyone.

I'd eaten at Pratts a couple of times, but as it is shut on a monday, we thought we'd try Braedens after seeing the great Yelp reviews. Super polite and friendly staff, quick service, but found the Q to be a little lacking. I went for the brisket (thinly sliced, slight smoke) with pulled pork (surprisingly dry). Sides were beans (good) and fries (also pretty good). Not bad, but not as good as I expected from the reviews.

I'm not from the south originally, but I moved here and for my first day of work my boss took me here. The food is inexpensive but delicious. The meat is fresh from local vendors and I found it to be moist even when served naked or 'dry'. They have a variety of in-house sauces that are 'authentic' (I love their Carolina sauce) to go with their bbq meats. They have decent burgers, decent hot dogs, their sides are nice and simple. My wife's grandparents are natives of Tennessee, and we went to lunch with them just a few days ago here (their first time) and they loved the authenticity. The real charm of the place is the staff. The owner has been at the front, ringing us up every time, greets us with a smile and sees us off with a goodbye. It's informal and warm the whole time you're there. Don't try and go at 12pm, the crowd from Eastman Chemical makes a line out the door. Highly recommended.

I eat here at least once a week. Best BBQ in Kingsport. Barry, Troy and their employees will take care of you.

I really hate to give this place a medium rating since the service was great and the people were so nice to me and my friends as we were traveling through town. This place was recommended by some local friends, so we decided to check it out. In the end this place was OK. Maybe I was just expecting too much being from California and thinking that real Tennessee BBQ would be earth-shatteringly different from what I can get back home. The BBQ is good, not great. Based on reco's I was expecting this place to be great. The St. Louis style ribs were kind of grey. When I see BBQ smoked ribs I expect to see some of the pink ring, which was not there. To me, the flavor and texture was more like oven cooked ribs rather than smoked. The rub was tasty but very light. Some people prefer lighter rubs, but I like lots of flavor. The pulled pork was dried out and again, a little bland. The 5 different BBQ sauces were I nice touch. I really liked the hot & spicy. The homemade potato chips were great. The rest of the sides I tasted were fine, nothing wrong with them, but again kind of plain. The fries were like any chain restaurant, and the beans were can-like (I'm fine with beans in a can, but you can get those anywhere and they're just - meh). So all-in-all my experience was that the people working behind the counter were fantastic, but the food was good-not-great.

Nice little BBQ-plus restaurant. Very friendly, with good customer service! Take your pick of 5 sauces for your BBQ: house, sweet & bold, hot & spicy, honey-based, & Carolina. You ought to check them out if you are in the area!

Now this is more than a Barbecue place. Especially if you like good inspirational music. My first time there was about 4 years ago. I was having a typical outside sales day. I was listening to WCQR radio station in my car and pulled in for a quick sandwich. When I got my food and sat down , I realized they had the same music playing, Troy and Barry came over and talked with me and I didn't leave for about an hour. My Spirit was full and so was my belly. Good food and good people. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Awesome ! I'm a BBQ junkie ; this is good BBQ ! Had the ribs ; excellent ! They have five differant types of BBQ sauce on the table to fit your fancy but you really don't need it or not much for that matter ! The baked beans & the home made potato chips were great ! This is the BBQ joint that all the locals eat at if that tells you anything ! Great food & great service ! Will definately come back next time I'm in Kingsport !

Traveled to Braeden's expecting great BBQ from the reviews. Arriving during lunch at midweek the place was packed with seating probably accommodating around 30 at most. The crowd increased my expectations of great food. What a major disappointment. The ribs had little discernable smoke flavor (though claimed to be smoked during an involved 24 hr preparation) and were extremely tough. Appearance was more on the line with oven baked ribs and flavor definitely lacking. Plastic knives and forks were provided and one can imagine the difficulty of cutting the ribs. Plastic knife just couldn't hack it so the old standby of hands just barely worked. I do not understand the ratings given and will not go back.
