This Bistro type establishment on the Main Street of Jonesborough (hence the name), is a great place for a lunch. If you have read some of my recent reviews, you will know that I was recently in Jonesborough for a family event, and had opportunity to dine in several places. My two sisters and I came here for lunch after prepping for my folks' 50th wedding anniversary party. Main Street Cafe was doing the catering, so we decided to sample their offerings. We were pleasantly pleased. Upon walking in you are greeted with a large cooler case displaying their various desserts and bottled beverages. You order and pay at the counter then you find a seat. This was a Friday afternoon and the place was busy, however we were able to find a table. (they also offer dining al fresco with several tables outside) Our orders were brought within minutes of settling at our table and were all delicious. Price point is a little on the higher side for this town, but well worth the extra shekels for a fine meal. Like many places in Jonesborough's downtown, hours and days of operation are somewhat limited, so be sure to call ahead to ensure they are open.

Great spot for lunch. Quick service and really good deals. Half sandwich, chips and a salad for less than 7 bucks.

Main Street has great food. Love their poppy seed dressing. Never had a bad meal there. Have used them for catering and they do an excellent job.

After 2 1/2 hour trip , my son and I were kind of hungry and looking for a place to eat, when we came across this quaint little rustic place and it just smells wonderful outside. When we went in, it was your classic grill Dinner, beautiful handwriting chalkboard specials , paper menus, very nice greeting walking through the door , display case of cakes and brownies and sorts of pastries , take a menu sit down think about what you want and go up and order. well my son and I both got a bacon cheeseburger with all the fixins, and cactus juice. Took about 15 minutes for all of our food to be ready , my first bite into that burger was heaven as I looked at my son and he was gobbling down the burger saying oh my god this is so good. the French fries were beautifully crunchy perfectly made , and the cactus juice which was very refreshing was to die for. After being stuffed my son and I ordered a brownie and a lemon bar , which once again was to die for. I would recommend this place if you are ever in Jonesborough Tennessee on Main Street and you want a rustic down-to-earth family-oriented quick bite to eat.

Very good spot for lunch, especially if you aren't in a hurry. It's a soup & sammich bistro from Norman Rockwell's America in a quaint, quiet, small town. "Oldest Town in Tennessee." Alternately spelled Jonesboro and Jonesborough over the years. If you think it became controversial to put the UGH back in the Boro, you shouldhave seen the flap when they proposed letting liquor here in the 21st century! Kinda cramped inside. World's tiniest bathroom. It can be kinda fru fru if you catch it when the purple hat ladies are on the prowl or when the garden club is doing their thing. Great soups and sammiches, local beers from Depot Street Brewing a block away. Dog friendly patio. We stop here semi regularly. It's awesome on Saturday afternoons when the Farmer's Market is happening. Locals, a few tourists, and regular city folk from Johnson City. If they have fruity tea or lemonade, jump on it!

This place is always good. Excellent pizza and wings. It's in downtown Johnson city which has see other nice things to do in the area. Good atmosphere and service.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. My husband had the Reuben and I had the rustic chicken sandwich. They both were among the best sandwiches we've ever had! It was a perfect place for lunch. We will definitely be back.

I love everything they serve and want them to cater my wedding, funeral, bar mitzvah, whatever. Try one of their raspberry brownies. Your life will never be the same. I always want to work there, too, because I'm so passionate about their food. But they never seem to be hiring, which obviously means the employees are happy and provide excellent service!

This place is great. Excellent sandwiches and awesome, inexpensive desserts. I'm pretty sure it's the best restaurant in Jonesborough.

Wow! This place is just the place NEVER to miss if your ever in Historic Jonesborough - well even if you were anywhere in the vicinity, I would deal with the drive over just to eat here! The first time I was here I had the Bevo Burger, which is made to order (actually everything here is made to order!), the second time I went I had the roast beef panini - which is by far my favorite of the two. Oh and I had the sweet tea/orange juice/lemonade drink they have, and that was SOOO good! I even went back to the cafe after walking around town for a refill and they were kind enough to give it! A good thing about this place is that they give you just the right amount of food to satiate you but not over feed you! The staff here is amazing and also from what I understand have been there for years. Its just a pleasant place to spend time! Another cool thing about this place is that it has been around for YEARS! It is a Mainstay on Main Street! They've been there for generations (LITERALLY) and it is family run! As I was sitting there, people walked in and knew one another, people waved at each other, it was just very quaint! I will most definitely come back here when I am in town.

Everything went wrong with visit. Hair in my food, wrong sandwich, missing some food and the fat lady in the back needs to clean up a bit. Dirty and nasty. Won't be back

Stopped into this place while visiting Jonesborough. Went in with a group of eight and immediately found a table. Lunch menu offered a good selection of sandwiches and salads. I ordered "The breezy" sandwich, which was sliced turkey on a roll with mushrooms and melted provolone. Sandwich was delicious. Turkey was thin sliced, deli style, but had a nice smoke flavor. All members of out party were thoroughly happy with their choices. I would frequent this place often if I lived in the area.

This was a great choice for lunch. The food was very good, service was very good. The restaurant is rustic, clean and the music level was kept at a level where you can have a conversation. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch anytime you go through downtown Jonesborough. I am visiting and hope to go there again before I have to leave for home.
