It is our first night staying in our new town. We drove up here for the weekend to check out the town and area and we saw this restaurant several times today..so when trying to figure out what for dinner...we both said HARBOR HOUSE...lol !!! It is easily found and located near my new office ...and it was not that packed. The restaurant is larger inside than it looks outside.. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress arrived quickly introduced herself and took our drink order. She also suggested some delicious meal options once we told her it was our first time. Since my gastric by pass, a lot deep fried foods mess with my stomach but she assured us that the oil in the fryers are changed regularly..so we took her word on it and her suggestions. We opted for the Harbor House Platter to share..it was a large combo of fish, hushpuppies, clam strips, oysters, shrimp and scallops and even a stuffed crab portion..some cole slaw and we even shared the huge baked potato with butter and sour cream. It is a family restaurant ( not located on the water) and no alcohol is served. So we ordered iced tea..and it was great..Not too sweet ...just right.. I would definitely eat here again! I highly recommend this delicious seafood restaurant to anyone in the area...you have to try it out. The service was friendly and fast and the restaurant is decorated to make you feel like you are on the beach front somewhere... I can't wait to take my daughter here and let her try it out. They also have a wall of photos of people who attempt to eat their MONSTER BURGER...are you on that wall?

The food is awful. There is nothing that tastes good at this place. Frog legs are rank, shrimp is bad, those stuffed crab things?...Gross and very salty. My baked potato was the only thing edible. Hush puppies were not good. This is a poor excuse for a seafood restaurant. Salad bar is less than mediocre. Way overpriced!! Butter and sour cream in a pack? This restaurant should be ashamed.

Harbor House not only has great seafood, but have, hands down, the best chicken tenders around. I don't know what is in the breading, but it's awesome. My family really liked the fish and fried shrimp they had. Even though you might feel obligated to order seafood at a seafood restaurant; you have to try the chicken tenders especially at such a reasonable price. Also, do not miss the salad bar or the homemade desserts. The coffee was pretty good too. Harbor house is a great place to go with family and small children. The staff has always been super friendly and attentive. Kids eat free on Tuesday nights. We will definitely be back!

Great food. The staff is very courteous also. We eat here often and the place has never been anything but good. The fried seafood seems to be the specialty. I usually get the Captains Combo: whitefish, stuffed crab, popcorn shrimp, oysters, scallops, slaw and a baked potato. My wife gets the crab cakes. I highly recommend this place!

Harbor House is easily one of my favorite seafood restaurants, and these people saying that "greasy fried food" is all they have to offer clearly didn't read their menu. If you're looking for healthy options (as I often am), nearly all their items are available broiled. Broiled Alaskan Whitefish is one of my personal favorites, but I really enjoy the salmon, Snow Crab legs, and smothered grilled chicken as well (without cheese). As far as the fried items go, the fried oysters are the BEST I've had. Harbor House is known for their popcorn shrimp as well, but if I'm going fried I get a 3 item combo with catfish, oysters, and popcorn shrimp - add some homemade tartar and cocktail sauce and call it a day. Not so healthy, but oh so good. They also have some great burgers, steaks, and po'boy sandwiches. Finally, you get a huge bang for your buck here - the portion sizes are huge and you'll likely leave with a box of enough food for a second meal. I also love the atmosphere of this place - definitely family friendly and a back room good for family/church/community events. Hate on haters...I'll keep eating your "cheap quality" seafood and loving it.

If you're looking for a place to get a great calabash style seafood meal that'll have you unbuckling your belt and unbuttoning your pants, this is it! The portions are HUGE, the price is fair, and the service is excellent! This catch is definitely a keeper!

The food was great. Oysters and scallops were just right. Seafood was fresh. Not over cooked. Appetizers were good. Loved the homemade tarter sauce. Members of our party enjoyed the catfish and deviled crabs. The menu has something for everyone, even those who don't like seafood. They have steaks and chicken. Our server ,Zak, was knowledgeable about the food and didnt keep us waiting for anything. Wonderful experience.

The food here was truly hideous. I ordered stuffed flounder. It came to me cold and so over cooked I could bounce it off the ugly mural I had to stare at all night. Do yourself a favor and just skip this place. I rarely send food back but this $15.99 entree went sailing back to the kitchen. Don't even get me started on the donut thing they call a hush puppy

The food is just fried and cheap quality. Kinda grosses me out. I guess partially my fault for choosing a fried food restaurant but still I think fried can be done better than this. Just old grease. That said, the prices are actually pretty good.

I have dined at this restaurant numerous times and I always order the same meal each time. The staff here are extra friendly and the food is always super hot and delicious. I highly recommend the Alaskan Whitefish platter and the fried mushrooms. The portion sizes are very decent for the money.

Our first visit and it was GREAT! The food tasted really good! The service was awesome! And for the people who said it was "greasy" our food was cooked perfectly! We will definitely be back again!!!

Hush puppies and slaw are great! Potatoes were not done-they were cold and hard! Waitress was nice and done a good job! They also had a good looking salad bar!

The shrimp was a little over cooked but the steak was perfect and the frog legs wete meaty and delicious. The cole slaw was the best I ever had. The service was great and personable. Great place for any fried seafood and a nice family atmosphere. The prices are what you would normally pay at any chain restaurant.

If you like fried food, this is the place for you. Most of their seafood is fried, and you get a LOT of it. Chances are, you will have to take some of it home. Plenty of tartar sauce is also provided. This is not really the place I go when I am trying to watch my diet. They do serve one of the best burgers in town, and they offer steaks on their menu as well. Baked or broiled seafood is also available, but the fried stuff is far and away their specialty. Great family atmosphere. Great coupons available online and in almost every coupon flier available around town.
