I love the cottage! They have a great karaoke event every Friday night and have the best cheeseburgers in town!

The Cottage is a local institution. Karaoke, great burgers, and cold beer. Feels like a neighborhood dive bar that you've been to a hundred times, even if it's your first time. The proprietor, Sonny, makes his own coozies for his over sized beers. The Cottage was divey before the hipsters discoverd dives. It used to be a dark, smoky bar, but now the smoking is outside. This is the "go-to" place for a work buddy and me when we get to do lunch together. It's about the burgers for me. Basic bar food plus fried chicken, sold by the 1/2 chicken. Pizza, burgers, BBQ, salads, chili, and soup. It's easily a Top 10 burger joint in the area.

My favorite neighborhood eatery. I eat there once a week and drink there once a month. I love the fried chicken dinner and the peg legs. I usually order a bacon cheese burger and bacon cheese fries. Awesome always!

You might want to get here around 2:00 and mow down some beers and chow before the 4:00 afterwork crowd comes in and it gets all smokey and crowded. It is a local, the kind of place where the workingmen come after a day of hard labor to drink some motherfucking beer and get all that "working for the boss" out. They serve beer. 12 oz, 16 oz, pitcher, bottle, 40 oz (of Bud Light). They also serve assorted soup, which is Campbell's Soup, which is Campbell's Soup that you order by the can. As in "I'll have a can of chicken noodle". The chipped ham sandwich comes with bacon. "Would you like bacon on your ham sandwich?" Uh...."well, everybody orders it that way." OK.

Good Lord, what happened to this place? As a resident years ago I went here all the time, 1970 to the late 90"s. The food was great if you wanted fried chicken or a great cheese burger. Good prices on pitchers of beer and a good working class bar vibe. You could smoke if you wanted to and have good conversation with a stranger at the bar. Went there about a month ago and realized you can't go back. The food is god awful fried, it's been frozen too long crap, the room smells nasty and if you want to smoke they've got some great plastic chairs out on the asphalt for you. Give me a break. When the lease is up let's hope this pile of crap is flushed and something better goes in there.

This dive is infamous in JC for being great and having an awesome burger.. Guess what? Things change. The food is horrible, the service is even worse, and it smells weird. Did I mention the most flavorful beer here is coots lite. Don't waste your time in this dump.
