Love the food. It's always great. However, the service definitely is lacking. It didn't used to be that way. However, the last couple of times we have visited (slow), and almost every time we use the to-go service (order is wrong), there are problems

Highly recommend this restaurant. Steaks, chicken and sandwiches are all good. One of the best Club Sandwiches anywhere.

Imagine a perfect marriage between Outback Steakhouse and country Christmas cabin. Decent food at a reasonable price and lots of TV screens to keep sports fans occupied = family restaurant done right. I like that it's not a part of global chain.

Was my absolute favorite college date spot. Pre-middle age, I could eat an entire platter of the honey buttered croissants. Food has always been great, service has always been good. Arguably the best spot for a dinner out in Jackson.

Rafferty's has high quality food that is quite good. This is good old fashioned American fare. I have been here 25+ times over the last 6 years, and every time the food has been good. I can say that I've only had one service issue in 2008. The baked potato soup and the chicken Alfredo dish are both excellent. Their steaks are good too. I can't say that I've ever had anything here that was not good. I've found them to be slightly more expensive than I'd like them to be, but they aren't outrageous by any standard. I'd love to see a kids night with a discounted or free kids meal. Otherwise, quite good.

Great restaurant. Great food. Great service. Absolutely LOVE the outside patio. The cheese fries are delicious. Chicken finger salad with hot bacon dressing is a MUST try! Love it!

This could have been a 4 star rating if all of our food was served hot. Queso Dip & Chips: the dip was cold and I returned it and requested it spend some time in the microwave. It had great flavor. Butter Croissants: Cold and texture was almost mushy, perhaps uncooked or maybe they were sitting there for a while (my entree)Catch of the Day - sword fish. Side item homemade onion rings -- The sword fish was delicious. Well seasoned and served piping hot. The onion rings were served cold and did not get eaten. (husbands entree) - Rib-eye with butter sauce. Side item - loaded baked potato. He said it was good BUT from the look of the rib-eye it was not a great cut. A great rib-eye will have nice marbling. This had none, just a hunk of fat on the very end of the steak. Also his order came with a salad. It's been years since I have eaten at a Rafferty's and it appears their portion specs have changed. It was a itty bitty side salad with a couple of toppings (bacon, egg, potato fries, tomato). The service was good, my husbands drinks like a horse and the server did well keeping his drink full, the table bused and checking in on us.

This restaurant has received a 5-star review based upon my experiences here in comparison to what else is available in the town of Jackson. We ate here all weekend when we were in town to watch a baseball championship series. This establishment had both great food and atmosphere. Just about everything we had was good. I would recommend starting with one of the many good appetizers. We enjoyed the chips with cheese dip, which was made with a different type of white cheese that had a distinctive yet delectable flavor. The other appetizers we enjoyed included the rolls with honey, that will remind you of the rolls your grandma made, and the loaded nachos. As for the entrees, there wasn't much to frown upon. The mahi mahi and salmon were both good, whether you get it blackened with Cajun seasoning or with the normal seasoning. However, the Cajun seasoning may be a bit much if you don't like spicy foods and I would have preferred a bit more of the normal seasoning. The ribs fell off the bone and both the pork chops and rib eye steak were tender and cooked to perfection. The portions are large and filling. The staff was very friendly and expedient. They even stayed open late to accommodate our group one night when the games ran late. The prices are comparable to commonplace chain restaurants, and although this ended up being a smaller chain restaurant, the food was far superior to that of the larger chains. My one word of caution would be to not get the coleslaw. It was the worst coleslaw we've ever tasted. That being said, the waiter was quick to replace it with a substitute so my meal was still complete and filling. I would highly recommend giving this establishment a try if you are in the Jackson area.

Nice atmosphere, great ribs and good service, pity that patio when I went (Sunday) was closed...
