Lots of items on the buffet but very little quality to it. Place gave me an "old motel room" feel. Kinda felt dirty after being there. Stomach feels a lil queasy from the dining experience. Sushi wasn't bad, just not much to choose from. Overall I give it....forget it. I won't be back.

It's a Buffett. Don't expect five star food do you? Hibachi was good, go during meal times. So the food stays fresh. The servers are very good.

As far as buffets go, it's not too bad. For it being less than 12 bucks for me and my buddy I won't say anything bad about this place, it's basically your standard 'upscale' Chinese buffet with sushi and hibachi included, nothing really stood out but everything was acceptable and with a $5.99 per person price tag for lunch-which includes weekends I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

One place I never get sick of or sick from. Honestly, this review will get mixed reactions. Some people will agree, a lot will wonder 'what was she thinking?' But for real, how often do you get to come to a place that you can pay $8.99 for a buffet that gives you the option of a regular Chinese buffet, a sushi buffet, or a hibachi grill where you watch him cook your food right in front of you? Reviewing each these: Sushi - It's wonderful! So, some would think you could only the California roll and the Eel roll at this kind of place, right? WRONG! They have rolls that you would buy at a nice sushi place for $8 - $15! They are just as good and with just as much option. Hibachi - Amazing! They have your selections of noodles, sauces, meats, and veggies set up buffet style. You pick what you want, go to the hibachi chef and he cooks what you've put together right in front of you. If there is a line, don't fret! He cooks 4 meals at a time to make it less time consuming for you to get your order. Chinese food - It's ok. Every time I visit China Pan, I settle for the hibachi and sushi usually. Simply because I think their Chinese is somewhat dry and a little mediocre. Don't get me wrong -- they have good stuff, and a very large variety of items for you to choose from. However, I usually will grab a crab wanton and then bee line straight for hibachi. Service is fabulous. Tonight for example, my friend and I went to dinner and the table next to us had these wild kids who insisted on getting the rice in the floor and soda every where. They had 2 spills at their table just in the 15 minutes Jamie and I were sitting down and before they left. The server was quite diligent on cleaning up their messes and insisting it was not a problem. She handled the situation like a pro. I wish I could say I had the same patience as the server, but God didn't bless me with that trait. My friend and I conversed well over after the time we finished our meal. Normally we are supposed to go up to the cashier and pay for it ourselves. The server took it upon herself and ran it for us and brought the check back to our table. This isn't a sit down type of place, and for her to do that was quite nice considering her only responsibility really is to get our drinks and to peak in on us from time to time. She definitely went the extra mile. From previous experiences, once the meal concludes, so does the service of the waiter. I was glad this was not the case. China Pan is a great place to eat. Jackson does have some nice establishments for cheap, but the quality of the food and service are not compromised with the price.

OK, so I was at the library and decided to give this joint another try. WRONG! It was lunch time...hardly anybody here even though they are surrounded by businesses and are located in a busy area... I agree with the guy who compared it to an old motel. I ate a forgettable meal and will forget this place... The collection of Best of Jackson reviews have obviously been purchased under the table and are woefully out of date. There are now other places much better than this place, try them FIRST!

Great food and so much to choose from. The workers could be a little more friendly. They should fill your cup at the table but the food is great.

The 2 stars are for the bathroom, waitress and buffet price. (and in THAT order). Not Impressed AT ALL. We only ate lunch at the buffet (Wed). We usually go to another restaurant, (Jumbo Buffet, same price and FAR better selection, and more importantly, much better quality of food!) We decided to try something new, so we choose this place from the yellow pages (menu section) the ad boasted 'voted the best Chinese food in Jackson for the past 5 years'. Well! If that the case, we now have learned to avoid all places that the locals think are good. Mostly fried food; cold and soggy. They had far to many 'American' choices, which looked too greasy and stale (and definitely made straight from the freezer). The sushi selection was small, tasteless and boring. The wanton soup looks days old. In general the food was blah, and the buffet was messy and unkempt . The hot and sour soup was good though. Also, it is worth a trip in to see the most fabulous gaudy chandelier over the buffet...That truly was the BOMB! I want one!!

Lunch buffet was only $6.99. I expected to pay the dinner price considering it was Sunday. Food selection echos the other reviews. It was fresh and plentiful.
