Breakfast Buffet! We stopped in on the way to Jackson TN for breakfast. The breakfast buffet had many items to choose from. There was everything from biscuits and pancakes to a variety of breakfast meats and eggs and of course white country gravy. The food was good and definitely hit the spot for a hearty breakfast. The restaurant had plenty of Loretta Lynn things to view. The service was good and the restaurant was clean.

I had both the breakfast and lunch buffet on two separate days. The breakfast buffet is $7.99 and about a .5 star. The bacon & country ham were the same texture, potatoes hard, and sausage patties beyond greasy to the point of inedible. They did have what seemed to be canned peaches and canned cantaloupe in syrup.... The lunch buffet $9.99 had fried chicken and pulled pork. The fried chicken was good! But the BBQ was just simmering in liquid fat and all the sides were extremely bland with little taste. White beans and cornbread was okay. I gave two stars because the ladies that work there are nice. I do not recommend stopping by for breakfast or lunch.

Uh I'm thinking Loretta doesn't have much to do with this place other than lend her name to it. I'm almost positive she stopped giving them cooking advice a long, long time ago. I had the country fried steak platter which included mashed potatoes and BROWN gravy, creamed corn and green beans. Oh there was something that resembled a biscuit but I could have used it as a hockey puck. The country fried steak would have to be 10x better than it was to be even considered mediocre. The corn and green beans were good - mashed potatoes were lumpy and since they came with brown gravy I am at a loss for words. I had pecan pie a la mode since I obviously was still starving - I can't describe how disappointing it was ... BTW I wanted cobbler - hell even Cracker Barrel has cobbler! Loretta Lynn's country kitchen did not. The gift shop was an ode to the confederacy. Does anyone down here realize the south lost? 150 years ago? Get the hell over it. I've driven past this place numerous times telling myself I should stop in someday. Next time I'll just keep on driving.

Hi~traveling~so the food was VERY good, considering that I'm extremely picky. Try the BLT! The only thing that bothered me was that the decor was so old! Yes, I realize it is Tennessee, but the walls are wood panelling and are starting to break. They honored this person, if you call "honoring" putting a bunch of the same photos of the same person, some creepy, which made my 1 year old start crying. Yes, it was the photos. Although the food was great, it took a long time, and we were the only ones getting food; the other two tables already had food. The buffet my friend had was, quote: "good." Of course though, you get the buffet before everyone else. I was confused because they sell those little stupid toys/devices. Am I coming into a thrift shop or an old restaurant? I want to know!

We happened to pass by the restaurant when we were on the way to the skydiving place- we decided to stop by there for lunch- bad decision because it turned out to be a tourist's trap- worst buffet ever with waitresses with attitudes. It is a total rip-off- it would cost you $10.99 for too limited buffet of chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, turnip greens, sweet potatoes, pasta, salad and rolls plus unsweetened chocolate pudding and jello, that's pretty much it. Ugh, I wish I could get a refund. Even though I am not a fan of buffet, I would suggest you to go to Shoney's instead of this tourist's trap.

This place was nasty 20 ago and still nasty today.nothing has changed .dirty smells funkey will not go back. Well if your the kind of person that will eat anything and thinks it great then dump is for you. The staff is rude and unwelcoming.

Changed to 2**, While I still dislike eating here, I have had visiting friends who think the breakfast buffet is good. The museum IS kitsch, but kinda cool & I do love all the stuff on the landscape/parking lot. It's at least worth a drive by if you are in the area.

The food is pretty good - especially for those out on the road traveling and looking for a decent meal. We paid $10.99 for the buffet, a bit overpriced if you ask me. The waitresses were friendly but they really need to replace the older woman working the cash register. She is so unwelcoming and rude. After eating we went to pay our bill, she was talking to someone else and never said "hi" or asked us how our meal was. We thanked her and she completely ignored us and kept talking to the other guy. After paying $24 for lunch - I'd expect better service.

This kitchen's got kitchy! I don't know if this Waverly location is the same as what is called Hurricane Mills, but I'm thinking so as I don't see any other posting. I generally veer way way away from buffets. They tend to be about quantity instead of quality. Even with that, this wasn't bad at all. AND the glory of the Loretta Lynn decor...well, ya'll just gotta love being that close to the coal miner's daughter's stuff. For your fried fix, there was fried chicken & catfish, hush puppies and some pork & beef dishes (sorry I don't partake in the four-legged critters). And the mac & cheese, creamed corn, corn bread, greens, white beans, and salad bar were just dandy for me. It's as good as you might expect for a buffet...and if you want something to that hasn't been in the warming tray, there is the menu. This is a truck stop, after all folks. The waitresses were very accommodating and nice. The gift shop was pretty fun, too--with a stern matron overseeing the operations. There was a strange fiberglass buffalo out front in the parking lot. All good fun.

THE WORST SOUTHERN FOOD I'VE EVER HAD HANDS DOWN. I came here on my way back to New York after staying with a friend in Jackson, TN for a week last March where I had REAL southern food and deep-fried everything! I wanted to stop here because it's Loretta Lynn's Kitchen! The atmosphere was funny and flashy, but who cares about that. The food was just poor quality and bad. I asked, "So does Loretta ever come in here?" and the waitress said that she used to, but not anymore.... it showed that's for sure.

What self-respecting gay man could pass up the opportunity to dine at an all-you-can-eat buffet filled with the most unhealthy Southern comfort foods ... owned and operated by a country music legend and diva? Unfortunately, I couldn't resist. Perhaps if I weren't already accustomed to Southern cooking, I would have enjoyed the food they served a lot more. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't as good as a home-cooked Sunday meal. Therefore, people from the Midwest or West Coast who aren't very familiar with how traditional Dixie cuisine should taste would probably walk away a lot more satisfied than everyone else who posted negitive reviews here. But for those of us born & raised below the Mason line, this place definitely cashes in on Loretta Lynn's brand to cater to people who want an authentic "country music" experience. The overall design & theme manage to capture a quaint; rustic charm. The inside is filled with memorabilia illustrating various aspects of this "Coal-Miner's Daughter's" impressive life & career. And that's the only reason to stop here if you have time to kill on a trip between Memphis & Nashville. I wasn't expecting the dishes to be 5-star gourmet. However, what I was expecting was something in between Golden Corral & Crackle Barrel, and the quality of this food was neither. Would I recommend this place to a Southern friend? Yes, but only because it's nice to see a place with the "Classic Country" music most of us in the South remember from our childhood. Would I eat there again if in the area? Probably not.

Even after reading all the reviews my family of five decided to try Loretta Lynn's Kitchen. Let's say we were going in for the schtick. Since we're from the North, and we don't know what real home-made country cooking is, how disappointed could we be? It had been a long day and we were tired and hungry. Well to say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Fried chicken, ham slices, and hushpuppies were good. Salad was fresh and tasty. The kids really enjoyed her roll-like biscuits. The waitress was friendly and personable. I'd recommend this place for a quick descent bite on the road. Loretta Lynn was not there, but the schtick was.

Sadely--don't bother. Overall rest rooms and restaurant were not all that clean. Food was even worse. Corn muffins were hard and dry. Chicken n dumplings had no taste at all. Paid $10.99 for buffet, all you can eat. Lost money on that deal.

I stopped in for the breakfast buffet while traveling through TN. This place is well worth it. Good southern style grits, gravy, eggs, pancakes and bacon. The server kept my coffee full and was friendly. The tourist trap side of the restaurant was over-priced, but the food was not. The overall design and feel of the place is relaxing. I would certainly come by again if ever in TN.

Good old fashion country food....down to the canned spinach..ahem. It was average food but I'll give it 3 stars for a little atmosphere. Reminded me of a low-end Cracker Barrel look-alike. But who doesn't love Loretta Lynn??

Not feeling this place. Food is iiiight at best and the service is terrible. All young waitresses gabbing about anything but work. Had to break up their conversation to ask for coffee. On a plus side they were well mannered in their laziness. Best food item in breakfast buffet was the chocolate gravy in my opinion. Price was good at $7.99.

Loretta Lynn would be upset if she came in and tasted the food, everything had no taste, it all tasted bad, $13 bucks down the drain. The floors are dirty, the plates are dirty, I would not eat there even if the food was free. I was trying to figure out why everyone was going to McDonalds across the street. Now I know why!

Underwhelming is an understatement. Actually stopped on this exit just to eat here. Should have had the hotel cold bar breakfast instead. Do not go for the buffet. Nothing is seasoned and all is over cooked. Asked for fresh eggs and toast, brought runny eggs and toast with no butter. You have to ask for butter and they will "bring it". Goes along with no seasoning I guess. -Pass it up, unless you wanna see 1980's Waffle House meets wanna be Cracker Barrel.

Stopped for lunch today, and were very disappointed. Buffet is $9.99 but item variety is limited. Pulled pork was dried and hard to chew. Macaroni salad was so beyond sweet it was inedible. Lady put out a fresh tray of fried chicken - tried a breast piece, and, like the pork, it was so dry I had to sip iced tea to swallow it. And the buffet price didn't include dessert. If you wanted a small piece of cake or pie it was an additional $2.99. Won't go back here ever. No one asked how our food was, or we would have told them . Worst meal we have had in many hundreds of travel miles.

Dinner buffet 10.99 Coffee 1.99 Food disgusting and old. I love Loretta Lynn, grew up listening to her in my home. But this restaurant is the pits. Buffet included salad bar; lettuce, old soggy cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese and very thick dressing that was more like a pudding. Had cheap bacon bits and fries onions from a bag. Deep fried chicken and fish rolled in flour. Old food on the bar, hard rolls. Mashed potatoes were like scooped from a baked potato. That is the worst part. Big case of pies didn't try. The moraine on the pies looked like the stuff that comes out of the box. Not a big deal but the decor is out of date and is horrible. If I can give Loretta Lynn 1 piece of advice, get Chef Ramsey to come do a make over of the place and menu. I can't believe this place is turning a profit. You've got some lazy cooks in that kitchen who are just warming up food from a package. No real home cooked food here.

Decent we came cause we saw the 7.99 breakfast buffet sign. Nothing special can't really mess up eggs and bacon. It's dead nobody here might give you a hint how the food is. It's not all bad season cut potatoes are off the chain as well as the biscuits and gravy.

Honestly. Do NOT do it. Had Yelp loaded before we went in we would have left. Where do I start? The buffet? Bland, old food that's randomly stirred. It was 5pm. It should have been fresh. $10.99 per person. My sons burger & fries? The burger contained a whole cross section of an onion and the fries were nothing more than limp, under cooked, under seasoned pile of mush. At least it was hot and his risk of food poisoning is lower than ours. The waitress was a complete gem. She was really nice. $43 for two kids and two adults who went to McDonalds for dinner after. Run. Run away!

Had a fun time here. My mother and I stopped on our road trip to Little Rock. This place had great and friendly service. There was too much food, but that is never a problem for me. I had the Mooney Burger and it was AMAZING. Some of the gifts in the gift shop were inappropriate and dated humor, but other than that it was a great place to visit!

This place is fun! After a long drive with NOTHING to see we stopped for lunch at this little country kitchen. The burger and onion rings were really good but the desert counter was awesome! Too many choices so we each tried a different one. The chocolate pie is a reason to drive there .

We stopped here for dinner on our way out of Nashville. I had the $11 buffet and none of the food had any flavor. It was so bland. It is frustrating knowing you can spend that kind of money elsewhere and actually enjoy your meal. Unless you want a Loretta Lynn T shirt from the souvenir shop, I would advise don't stop here.

Stopped in today for lunch and to be quite honest, I'm surprised Loretta Lynn would allow her name on such a place. But, lo and behold her signature is on the door thanking us for eating at her establishment. Our server was a sweet, pleasant girl so that's why the two stars. The food was just lousy. We had the chicken fried steak because the buffet was looking "dated" The chicken fried steak was bland tasting and greasy, served with equally tasteless, pasty white gravy. I had a side of white beans that were somewhat tasty, but then there was a rock (!!!) in it. Okay, a pea sized pebble and I'm forcing myself to believe it was a pebble...cause it looked funny. Potatoes were old and the corn bread muffins were hard and cold, however the best part of the meal were the green beans (delicious!) Trust me, I love diners and country comfort food, but my biggest issue with this restaurant is it just is run down and appears dirty. Ceiling is brown with grime, fans are dirty, and the interior has a 1978 old wood panelling screaming for a makeover. Which then begs the question and the "pebble" in the beans: When a restaurant seems dingy and dirty in the dining room, then what can the kitchen be like?........As we drove away I mentioned "the health department could have a hay-day in that place. Sorry Loretta, I love you but perhaps it's time to either give up the restaurant business or overhaul the place.

Stopped in on the way to Nashville. I wasn't expecting anything excellent but decent would have worked. It wasn't even decent. Had the buffet, the fried chicken was very dry and did not taste good. Dressing had small chicken bones in it; the peach cobbler was, well, I'm not even sure that was peach cobbler. Service was good. I would love to see Loretta eat at this place. Just stop at McDonalds if you're hungry.

This one star is for the really nice waitress we had. She was friendly and attentive...but the food was atrocious. I got the buffet in self defense -- I figured between the roast beef, fried chicken and fish, variety of sides and salad I could find something worth eating. The best I could do was iceberg lettuce with raw broccoli and mushy tomato topped with ranch. My husband got the roast beef dinner. It came absolutely smothered in canned brown gravy. My teenager got spaghetti with red sauce that was oddly sugary. My 3 year old got chicken fingers and they came or tiny dried out bits of fried breading. The pink lemonade was good and the pie case looked promising but we didn't give it a try. I feel guilty leaving such a negative review because the staff was so nice, but it is a restaurant after all.

Once upon a time, this place was the BEST on earth to eat a nice home cooked breakfast. Then the last time I stopped by happened. I don't know what happened but this place went so far down hill. I only gave it two stars because 1. it DOES have the Queen's name on it and 2. it's beyond amazing to see all the stuff inside. As far as the food goes, move on down the highway.

Granted, I didn't get the Breakfast Buffet which looked to be the big win here so maybe that's where we went wrong. Too bad, 'cause it's a great spot to stop before getting into the grounds of the rest of Loretta's properties. All the rest of Loretta's region was a lovely and beautiful experience- - - I really hope her family tries to improve the restaurant so they keep the great thing they've got going here in Hurricane Mills. Too many bad reviews on this site to ignore. I sincerely wish you the best and hope for a road to improvement!
