That was some really good, smoky, salty pork on my loaded potato. It would have been great even without the sauce (which was also quite tangy and tasty). Loved the way the meat was layered on top of the sour cream and cheese - that potato really is the best I've had in town. The deep-fried sides, especially the breaded pickle spears and the tater tots, were top notch. The potato salad and slaw were okay, not too much mayo but not as flavorful as I'd hoped. But that won't keep me from going back. Dixie BBQ may be second to Petunia's for best BBQ in Chattanooga.

Awesome cheap bbq and always friendly service, one of my favorite little places

Ate here last October. It was good cause we were hungry. Lots of food for little bit of money. The side items weren't very good. Stick to the meats.

Located at the corner of Boy Scout and Middle Valley, DIXIE BBQ earns points for consistantly high health dept scores, a great location, fast yet personal service, and a unique Loaded baked potato. The BBQ beef wasn't th best tasting I've ever eaten, but it was well-pulled, done, and served on a fresh, robust bun, wrapped in its own old-fashioned waxey paper sheet. At the server's suggestion I opted for cole slaw on my sandwich, a good choice. Their Loaded potatoes put this otherwise nondescript takeaway eatery 'on th map'. Do you ever 'go wild' with a food item; in a fit of hunger-frenzy just open th fridge door and dump whatever comes to sight on your plate? The Dixie BBQ gals do just that, adding the meat of your choice, and the result is a soul-filling, tummy tightening offering of a one-of-a-kind cullenary delight!! Good food, great staff attitude, great location, and + for any business that has the moral courage in these overly 'correct' times to add DIXIE to their name! Lucky are we who can make DIXIE BBQ a regular mealtime stop!

Definitely my favorite killer/loaded/whatever you call it potato. This is just a shack in a gravel lot on the corner of Boy Scout and Middle Valley Roads, across from a Kangaroo. I always get the potato with chicken rather than pork. Even if it does happen to be dry like a lot of bbq chicken is, it's impossible to tell because the other ingredients are so good. And it's so cheap! I think it's under $6 for the massive potato. The only sad point is they are not open on Sunday, which meant I had to go elsewhere on this visit for a less than stellar potato. I think also they are not open in the middle of the afternoon, hard to tell because they do not have a website from what I've seen, and you can't exactly catch the hours by simply driving by.
