Food was above average. Arrived around 6pm. we ordered the steak and shrimp combo for $12.95 and the salmon and shrimp combo for $13.95. When we received our bill, the charge was $18.95 and $14.95. They said the early bird special ended at 6 pm. They refused to give us the prices we saw on the menu that we ordered from despite the fact that we ordered off of the menu they handed us. The food was good but they don't care about losing two long time customers. Good food but we will never return!

The food was amazing! I got the Tennessee MT rolls (fried crab and cream cheese), which were to die for! The only bad thing about this place was that there were flies everywhere! I was at a work meeting with a potential business partner and flies were landing on our sushi and in our water. We were constantly needing to swat them away.

The Rivergate area certainly isn't overflowing with trendy or cutting-edge places to dine. In fact, I don't know of any other places out that way where you can get sushi. That's what makes Fuji a bit of an oasis in this desert of shopping centers and T.G.I. Fridays. Fuji is one of those steakhouses where you can see your chef toss your meat and vegetables about right before your eyes, but I always opt for the sushi over elaborately prepared and exhaustively flipped and chopped entrees. They have a few sushi combos that are pretty great and hover around $8 including soup and salad--and the salads come with a delicious ginger sauce that I can't seem to find anywhere else. Fuji also offers a combo that I believe is called the "Lunchbox" combo. It comes with vegetable tempura as well as several types of sushi and seafood. The portions are enormous, and that meal is also under $10. The staff is always quick and helpful, and despite the cuisine being pretty varied and complex, your food is always ready in a jiffy. Fuji is in a sort of unassuming little building, and from the outside it honestly doesn't look very appealing. However, their sushi is perfectly acceptable (though not as exemplary as many places in Nashville proper). If you live in Goodlettsville or just happen to find yourself there, this is certainly your best (if not only) option for some delicious Japanese cuisine.

Its sad that this places quality went down. It wasnt super special but due to the prices it was special. Now the quality went down from average to decent and it just is ok.

The place wasn't bad, but I've had better in this price range. The sake came out nice and hot and we had high hopes for the rest of the meal. While nothing was "bad", it was just a medley of "ok". The edamame and gyoza starters were fresh and served at the right temp, but then the chicken fried rice arrived. It came well before the sushi that we ordered and it was not very good. The rice was mushy and oily and the chicken was very dry. The onion bits and other items that distinguish fried rice were also mysteriously missing. The sushi finally arrived and it was tasty, but the rice was also not well made and it caused the sushi pieces to fall apart the moment you touched them. If you don't feel like driving and you want sushi, this will do, but I would drive a bit further into Nashville for a better sushi experience at the same price.

The outside of this place doesn't look the best but the inside is nice and sitting is spaced well. Their hibachi chicken is always good! It comes with vegetables, soup, salad, and rice for about 6$!! Can't really beat it! I've only had there sushi once, and it's was ok.. Probably won't order it again but defiantly will get the chicken again!

This place doesn't look like much on the outside and the inside isn't much better but the food is very good. The kids meals are big portions and reasonably priced. The sushi is always fresh and prepared well. I love to cone in after Church because you can always get in and sit down without a wait and they let their lunch prices roll over to the weekend so you can take a family of four and feed them for 40 bucks and that's awesome in these economic times. I always get the Filet and Scallops and they are amazing. I always ditch the veggies for a double order of spicy rice. The seafood sauce is very good, try pouting some over the rice. I know it sounds weird but it adds flavor that just works. All in all this place is a great place to swing by for lunch and you get huge portions for a very reasonable price.

My family eats here regularly and we love it. The outside really doesn't do justice for the service and friendliness of the staff. The food is amazing and I can never turn down spicy rice!

Having had fresh sushi made by Japanese sushi chefs I have a bit of a discriminating taste. That being said the sushi doesn't seem half bad but i would consider this place more of a dine in Chinese restaurant as the actual Japanese dishes leave a lot to be desired. The lo mein and crab Rangoon are quite good though. The service is pretty slow but they seem a bit understaffed at times.

The most disgusting place ever. Rice is mushy, steak is chewy, sushi is nasty. Would not recommend.

First time for lunch here. Very good value, friendly atmosphere. Cook was attentive and seemed to want to make us happy.

Been there for lunch twice. Had scallop box with sushi. It was so good I had it the second time too! Friendly staff, clean place. Served quickly and kept water glass filled. Actually sounds good right now! Under $10

Great food, friendly employees! The yum yum sauce makes everything taste better! Don't know of any other Japanese restaurant in town that has it.

Though no longer the only place to get sushi in the Rivergate area, it is the only one that was open at 2 pm on a Sunday afternoon, when we were doing some closeout furniture shopping and needed to stop for lunch. We were seated immediately by a pleasant hostess and looked over the menu - sushi lunch specials for $8-$10, bento box specials at around the same prices. Not bad! My wife ordered a two-roll maki special and I got the teriyaki shrimp box. Both were served with soup and salad. She had miso which she said was good, my box came with a "chicken broth" soup that was surprisingly flavorful. The salad was a simple iceburg-with-a-few-shredded-carrots affair, but the ginger dressing was excellent. When the food came, it was serviceable, if not amazing. Wife was a little disappointed in the amount of fish served with her rolls, but the quality was decent. My teriyaki shrimp was overcooked, as shrimp so often are. However, the sauce itself was nice; subtle, not too sweet. My California rolls were fine, and the tempura vegetables were good. Overall, it was fine. Certainly a better lunch that we would have gotten at most of the chains in the area, and well priced.

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Japanese food and Sushi; That being said, This Place is Appalling ! The Sushi is not fresh nor should it be considered Sushi as about 90% of it is Deep Fried, The rest of the food is ok but my steak was over cooked but the spicy rice was awesome. the yum yum sauce the have is glorified thousand island dressing and they dump it on every thing (Just Gross). The service is nothing to write home about either. I can think of many ways I'd rather spend 50 bucks, End of Story.

Maybe it was just the day I went, but the sushi was horrible. I ordered a Philadelphia roll - 95% cream cheese; 5% salmon and avocado. The roll was not rolled tight and fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Wasabi was runny and gross. However the Udon noodles were awesome. The host was very friendly and welcoming. I will not eat here again as there are several Japanese restaurants in the area that blow this one away.

The sushi portion is really small, in general average quality for the above average price.
