Seriously my favorite sushi ever!! they are clean and fresh the sushi is always amazing! I have been to other cities and other places and nothing compares to sakuras sushi! The vegetable and shrimp tempura is also up to par! I usually get edamame and sushi it never disappoints!

I didn't like the caterpillar roll. And I also didn't care for the salad. I usually love sushi and the salads from places like this. I know I have had the Joyce Roll from there before and it was good. But lunch today was not and it's a little pricey. Just wish I enjpyed it.

Hands down best sushi in Memphis area. We eat here several times a month and they are consistently great. Large pieces of sashimi, double the size of other memphis sushi restaurants for the same price. I recommend the sashimi appetizer, it comes in several sizes and is large enough to be a meal. We enjoy the hot green tea and they keep the refills coming. They also have a good selection of wine and beer. The decor is weird and it is not a romantic place...but the focus is on the food!

Really legit sushi place. Good balance between authentic and fusion at the same time. A lot sushi selection and the ones that I had taste really good. The joyce roll was good but I expected it to be crunchier but it wasn't. We were really intrigued with the Marty roll since it contains alfredo sauce. But it was surprisingly reaaaallly good. the BEST out of the ones we ordered. The volcano roll was ordinary. We also got the sashimi sampler for $30. The pieces are thick, yummy and cheap for its size! Definitely not dissapointed but really expected more. Will definitely visit again and try the rest of the different rolls :)

I visited this location awhile ago! Lunch was excellent! Our server was so sweet and very attentive! I highly recommend trying the caterpillar roll and salmon skin. They were the bomb. So much food! You will go home happy you ate here. :)

Our new favorite place for sushi, hands down. We cannot get over the sizes of the rolls, to start with. The quickness with which we get our food puts all other sushi restaurants to shame, especially during lunch rush, where you'd think it would be slower. The eel sauce is out of this world. We get the caterpillar roll with some editing due to allergies- yummy! Only negative is parking can be horrendous, so I have taken to going to the nail business next door early to get some pampering when parking is abundant then meet Hubby for lunch just after. We also visited a Sakura in Jackson, TN- different menu but same chain, same unique eel sauce. Try Sakura- you will not be sorry!

It's OK. I'm a purist and not a fan of deep fried/cooked sushi with tons of mayo and "fast-foodie" profiles. But, Sakura does that kind of sushi very well. I had a lunch special; it's on the menu as "Sushi and Sushi" lunch (a california roll with a few pieces of sushi - salmon, yellowtail, tuna, crab stick, shrimp and eel). The california roll was pretty good (I'm not generally a fan but didn't even attempt to ask if I could swap it out for something else) and the pieces were OK. Fresh enough; nothing funky. My dad had the "Joyce roll" which had a bunch of different things (spicy mayo, tempura flakes, crawfish and other stuff) - it was very tasty but not traditional sushi. Tried the gyoza and it was average. The salad is a very generous portion (which comes with the lunch special) and the soup was either miso or clear soup. Overall, an OK/average sushi experience. Parking was a nightmare as we went at the height of lunch time.

Don't waste your time or money! This food is horrible and flavorless. 70 dollars for dinner and nothing tasted good.

This review is coming from a true sushi lover. If you are a sushi enthusiast like I am then this is your place. I have to literally stop myself from ordering too many rolls. I have yet to have a bad sushi roll here. The prices are great, the restaurant is nice and cozy and the service is excellent. The Joyce Roll, Sexy Lady, and Marty Rolls are a must.

I love the food here! I come all the time. Everyone I bring here gets hooked. It doesn't take long to get the food and the service is also good. Eating here is a great driving experience. My favorite dishes are the Joyce roll and the teriyaki steak. You will not be disappointed when you come to Sakura! Enjoy.

Came here fri night around 7:30 with another couple and were promptly seated in a packed restaurant thanks to call-ahead seating. No reservations, but might as well have been. THE WINE PROBLEM: Greeted promptly and GF and I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir (forgot brand) and an ichiban. The wine came back very sour. Ichiban was in 12oz not 16oz bottles for $4.25. GF sent the wine back and switched to a Liberty School Cabernet... That too was vinegar. :( Apparently their premium wines don't get ordered enough? These were OLD bottles. Weeks even. Very disappointing. Switch to the house red (blackstone merlot) yielded an unspoiled glass. The server was gracious throughout, and this was the only black mark on an otherwise outstanding dining experience. THE FOOD: We are with another couple. We opened with edemame and seaweed salads (both excellent). They then tried a Joyce Roll (8.95) for the table which was fantastic. Purists take note it's a complex roll with sauces and such, but the flavor profile was awesome. Great group snack with a unique pinwheel cut formation. For our entree we chose Sashimi for $20 and they chose the $30 version. We added a Spider (soft shell crab) roll. THE BEST SASHIMI IN MEMPHIS. PERIOD. for the $20 plate, we were presented with SIXTEEN HUGE slices of unbelievably fresh fish. Each was nearly the size of a pack of gum! 4ea of Salmon, Tuna, White Tuna, and Super White Tuna. My friend (Brian M on here) travels the world for a living and has lived on 3 contents... He's a sushi snob and he was raving about their sashimi. We were not disappointed. Simply put: if you want Sashimi. There is nowhere else in Memphis to go. The maki looked excellent on others tables and my spider roll was delicious. But the star of the show here are the sashimi platters available for $20 (16pc), $30 (24pc) and $40 (presumably 32pc). Ordinarily the wine would have docked a point but the rest of the experience out shined the misstep.

Until this day this is mine and my husbands favorite sushi place. The service, the food, the ambiance, everything is very pleasant. We came with our two kids and they loved the teriyaki chicken. We had three rolls and it was plenty for me and my husband's big appetite. We are coming back for sure!

Great place. Quite busy for a Wednesday evening. We got the house salad with ginger dressing and it was delicious. The sushi rolls we got came in very generous portions. Each roll had 10-12 pieces. We got the Joe and Mango! Excellent!! Highly recommend this place.

I continue to enjoy this place. Excellent sushi... always fresh and well prepared. My favorite continues to be the "Spicy Girl" roll. The service is pretty good actually... the staff is always friendly. I recognize a number of servers who have worked here for many years. The kids meals are very good! One of my son's enjoys the Shrimp Tempura... for only $5.95 it is great deal! All of their Tempura is lightly fried with no grease. Excellent. Love this place.

This place is wonderful. If you're looking for excellent sushi, there's the big 3: first is Osaka, then Sakura, and Sekisui. The atmosphere is very mellow and peaceful, great lighting, nice and quiet. Service is always great. The rolls are huge and very flavorful with nice sauces and seafood varieties. Try the fried banana desert with vanilla ice cream if you can hold it all! Do the whole deal too- get the miso soup, edamame, seaweed salad, a few rolls, and the fried banana. It gets no better. A+ all day long

This is my new favorite sushi spot and an absolute MUST TRY! Service is fast and cordial and the food is amazing. We arrived at 7:30 and were promptly seated. While waiting for our dinner companions, I ordered a glass of Robert Mondavi pinot and it was delivered in just a few moments. Unfortunately, the bottle was open for way too long and it had soured. I advised the waitress, exchanged it for the Liberty School cab and had the same issue. By then, our friends arrived and advised just to order the house wines. Apparently the turnover is too infrequent to order from the wine menu. The house wine is Blackstone. This was the only issue with the evening. We ordered edamame, seaweed salads and a Joyce roll as appetizers. The edamame was lightly salted and perfect for me! The seaweed salads were almost entirely seaweed as they should be. It's always disappointing to be served a bowl of mostly cucumbers! The Joyce roll was a new experience. Deep fried crawfish, shrimp tempura, avocado, fish eggs, sauce in an interesting spoke shape. For the entrees, we ordered the soft shelled crab roll, sashimi for $20 and the sashimi for $30. THE FISH IS AMAZING. The $20 option included four huge, fresh pieces each of salmon, tuna, white tuna and super white tuna. I believe the $30 option included 24 pieces if the same. This dish will ruin other sushi places for you. Enjoy!

JOYCE ROLL. That's all you need to know. We also got the Sexy Lady and Volcano. Those were just okay. I wanted the Volcano to be a little more spicy but it was kind of sweet instead of spicy. The Joyce roll looks unmanageable but it's actually 4 little pieces formed into a circular shape. Great service too. Fast for the business people on lunch break.

Very great sushi with really good lunch specials for low prices. The nigiri sushis are of good practical quality and are huge! Sushi, soup and salad tasted all delicous. Service was friendly. I would recommend it!

I love Sakura. I go there on every trip I take to Memphis, TN. They're real good BUT I have noticed that they usually don't taste as good as takeaway as they do when you eat it in the restaurant. Also, last time I went there (07/13/2014) I need to admit I was upset. It didn't taste as good as it usually does and I didn't want to go back.. I hope that next time I'll go it will be as good as in the past because I really like sakura..

  • Keith R.

Let's go over what it is not. It's not a pretentious über hipster foodie lala land. It's also not a water-feature riddled zen garden full of weird Asian mystery. It IS really good sushi with interesting variety. It IS quite a value for the food that you are served. Therefore, be aware that It IS way too easy to over order. It IS service oriented. We go for the sushi (Mango, Tornado, Rock&Roll) and the Mermaid Salad (which we split). Add some Green Tea and we're all in for about $60 including tip. We also leave feeling like we actually had a meal and aren't hungry again until breakfast. On special occasions, we kampai with a warm & tasty Purple Haze (sake & Chambord).

Ordered 3 takeout dinners. Requested additional sauce for teriyaki chicken. Was assured by two different people that the sauce was included. Got home and discovered it was not. When I returned and related the problem they blamed me, saying I had ordered extra salad dressing. The tempura, was doughy and not at all authentic Japanese, more like Chinese people trying to imitate Japanese cuisine. It was a lot of food but quite tasteless.

I've never been disappointed with Sakura. My husband and I go at least once a month and that's saying a lot since we usually cook at home. It's the best sushi in the city of Memphis/Germantown. Always fresh and perfectly rolled. I would name my favorite rolls but honestly haven't tried any that I didn't like.

    (5)
  • Heath G.

I love this place. I have probably dined at the Germantown location well over 100 times and have never been disappointed. The fish is always delicious and fresh, consistently good. The rolls are massive and still very delicate. Sakura has well over 50 rolls to choose from so it can be a bit overwhelming. I highly recommend the "White Tuna Box", it is not on the menu but they will make it upon request. There are other rolls that are not on the menu as well that the sushi chefs will prepare, just ask. Also ask for all of their sauces to try and it is a must to get the ponzu sauce as a dipping option. As far as pricing, just like most sushi restaurants... it can get a bit pricey. Although you don't really need but one of the larger rolls and you will be full! Some of my favorite rolls are listed below and in no particular order, they are all awesome. 1. Richard Roll- Crawfish, white tuna on top with chili sauce 2. White Tuna Box- just get it and make sure to ask for ponzu sauce as a dipping option 3. Tiger Eye- Smoked salmon, cream cheese, jalapeno, and fish eggs 4. Gary- Crawfish, Cajun tuna on top, no rice 5. Joyce- just get it...deep fried and delicious 6. Spicy Girl- spicy tuna, avocado, fish eggs, snow crab mix, bonito, and sesame 7. Mermaid Salad- So damn good! 8. Golden Spider- Soft shell crab, avocado, crunch, and fish eggs 9. Deep Sea- Tuna, snow crab mix, avocado 10. Quasimoto- a lot going on in this one...just get it!

I am a sushi fanatic, and this is definitely the best sushi I've had in Memphis. The rolls are HUGE (so you don't need to order a bunch of sushi to fill you up!) and everything I've tried has been delicious. I come here every time I can get my boyfriend to go for sushi! Oh and the alfredo sauce is the best!

Very large portions and all of it delicious. If anything is lacking it's only in presentation compared to other sushi places I've visited.

I've been going to this place over the years since they opened. Glad to see they're branching out to more locations. I love their food especially their Joyce roll and baked salmon, which have to be ordered when you first walked in to come out in time for your sitting. A lot of places tried to mimic their famous Joyce roll but fails. They've up the price over the years, but the food is still consistently delicious. You get a lot for your money. Each roll is huge!!! Be careful ordering too much. Lol I made that mistake the first time. The service is good. No complaints there. The atmosphere is simple and clean; I like that. Overall, I think it's a great place for sushi! I would've given five stars, but the kitchen food is only okay in my plate.

Excellent staff! Excellent sushi!! The rolls are very good sized and have a great fresh taste! We will be back again and again!

FAMILY FRIENDLY and still has good sushi. Wish we knew his name, but one particular waiter was so good with kids that he will keep us coming back!

  • David L.

Try the sushi salad, prob the best $9 value you'll spend anywhere. The salad has no greens, but it has ALL FISH!!! Assortment of white tuna, salmon, and other good sashimi pieces. Ask for less mayo and reduced spicyness. I also had the sashimi and chicken terryaki lunch combo. The chicken was ok, but the sashimi was really good and creamy. I'm probably going to go back and try more of the sashimi. I don't recommend getting anything else but the fish there though.

LOVE their lunch specials! So good! One of the best sushi places in the Greater Memphis area. Great portion sizes and reasonably priced. Excellent service and selection. I've been here with groups of friends on numerous luncheons and we've always had TOP QUALITY food and service!

  • Mathew T.

Best sushi in memphis. My go-to dish is the alfredo roll and the joyce roll, amazing flavor and very fresh. Prices are not cheap but it is worth it for the quality sushi you are getting. I hated the thought of sushi but a friend recommended me this place and i am in love with sushi now

    (5)
  • Ali D.

If you like get more food in less price, sakura definitely is the best choice. The ingredients(raw fish, chicken, beef) they serve are way bigger than any other sushi place in town.

    (5)

The sushi is good but I think it is overpriced. It really is not a good lunch option, even with their lunch specials. Stick to dinner.

Ate here for over the hundreth time Saturday and , in my opinion, is still the best sushi place in Memphis. Our favorite rolls are the mexico, sunset, mandi gras, nathan, Joyce, and deepsea roll. I have tried many others and they were good as well. The only knock on this place is that a lot of rolls come with the same stuffing, which is good, but there are plenty of options here. I have never ordered off the menu. The service here is good. They keep your water full and are very nice. Getting takeout here is also very easy and always give you napkins, chopsticks, soy sauce etc.

  • Chris M.

Love this place! Service and food are above and beyond! Our waiter recommended 3 new rolls( the Phoenix, Brenda, and sexy lady) all were very very good.

So I traveled to Memphis on business and had a craving for sushi. BIG MISTAKE! I ordered what I thought was a spider roll. This dish was VILE. It tasted like they fried the crab in old chicken grease and poured extremely sweet eel sauce on top (which btw was not mentioned on the menu). I couldnt even get past one bite. I told the waitress that it was horrible and tasted old. She wanted to try to start a fight if I didn't pay. I told her she would be doing me a favor to bring me the check so I could pay and leave. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Do not eat here....

Great sushi! Mardi gras roll, Greg roll, Alfredo roll! Yellow tail sashimi!!! All great Tempura is also pretty good for the kids!

  • Lisa G.

Sekura used to be a good place to eat sushi, but is not anymore. The last two visits have been a huge disappointment. One of them we were served sashimi that still had ice crystals on the fish. Not even edible. The last time we arrived late and asked when we got there at 9:15 p.m. if they were still serving and they told us yes and sat us. We ordered some sushi. When it came we were prepared to order our entree at which time we were told that we could no longer order anything that they were closed! Unbelievable poor service. Sadly the sushi that we did get was terrible also. I would not recommend this locaiton to anyone under any circumstances. Food not good, service even worse.

Monster Roll is just that.... It's a monster and can easily feed one to two people. The Volcano roll is hands down the best roll that I've had at any sushi place, including great sushi from San Fransisco. The rainbow roll is on par with all other good rolls but twice the size as any other in Memphis. Might I also "highly " recommend the "WHITE FISH" and "Roe" Nigerrie, the best two bites of the meal. The key to Sakura's success is the food is really good and in many cases better tasting , the rolls are much larger than any others in town, and you leave feeling satisfied in the tummy, and in wallet too. Sakura is a TRUE VALUE when it comes to eating sushi in Memphis with out breaking the bank. I always try one "something new" with each trip and this time I came up with a word of caution. We had the Japanese pickle appetizer, and i couldn't make it past the first one. Just not quite ready to recommend this dish, but fully ready to advise caution on this one.

Hands-down excellent sushi. Definitely try the Joyce Roll.

    (5)
  • Misty R.

Good sushi- love the joyce roll. It's the best roll in the city and it's huge, enough for two people. I would give it 5 stars for the Joyce Roll alone if I was just reviewing my favorite roll in town. Keep in mind lunch time is crowded as the restaurant is small and it's sometimes hard to find a parking space.

I tried the shell crab roll (soft shell crab, snow crab, avocado, fish eggs and lettuce) and the Naruto (crawfish, snow crab, crabstick and avocado wrapped in cucumber). The soft shell crab roll was huge (and had tentacles), but it was very fresh. The sesame seed sauce added flavor and kept the roll from being just a huge log of crabmeat and rice. I would definitely order the Naturo roll again. The combination of crawfish and crab gave it a nice spicy / sweet flavor, and I loved the crunch of the cucumber wrap. Sakura isn't just about sushi, though - the restaurant has a full Japanese menu with tempura, soups and entrees. I started with the crabstick tempura and a bowl of seafood soup. The tempura was delicious, all warm and crunchy. The portion was also generous - three pieces as opposed to the usual two pieces of other Japanese restaurants. The seafood soup was alright, but it seemed like a slightly dressed up version of Sakura's regular clear soup. While Sakura is located in a strip mall in the older part of Germantown, it doesn't feel like it inside. The space is big, and they've got some serious mood lighting going on. It's the kind of place that would be just as appropriate for date night as a family dinner.

The food is always consistently great; prices are reasonable; and the staff is always very friendly. A great place to eat. The sushi rolls are very creative and always delicious.

    (5)
  • Adam R.

Maybe it's standard in Germantown to have your specialty rolls come with ten pieces per, but I don't know a lot of places that do rolls that way. Granted, the pieces were on the skinny side, but the quality of the fish was pretty good. Parts weren't good though. The waiter didn't bring my my unagi-don that I asked for. And the ramen was really not up to par. It's a valid point that one doesn't go to a sushi restaurant for ramen, but I asked the waiter, and he said it was good. The edamame was fine. And the Joyce roll was baked potato in size. And it was sushi. I'm not sure if I'd seen anything like it. They also had unfiltered sake, which made me happy, as well as a passable selection. Sakura needs to work on the edges, but it was pretty decent.

    (3)
  • Henry L.

Sakura is our favorite place for sushi. It's more of a modern/fusion Japanese food. We have our favorites rolls at Sakura. My girlfriend likes the Alfredo roll and my favorites are Naruto and Tornado. The service has always been great.

This review is based on the takeaway. Shrimp tempura appetiser comprised of three piece of shrimp and assorted vegetables. It was crisp. A dipping sauce was all right. Rolls (Golden Spider, Rock N Roll, Smoked Salmon and Soft Shell crab) were somewhat plain. I really liked fatty richness of smoked salmon. Additionally salmon was not overly salty. Rice used was bland and dry. The above establishment has not got a menu online that would allow a person to clearly determine whether or not rolls are cooked. I advise to check the roll menu in the restaurant section of Yellow pages (a paper version). A lady, who attempted to take an order, had a poor command in English. Be careful when placing an order.

I tend to be a little harsh in my ratings for Japanese restaurants mainly because I know what I want it to taste like and if it doesn't match my expectations I am immediately let down. With this in mind, Sakura has not entirely met my expectations any time I have gone. I have tried the gyudon (beef bowl) and chirashi sushi (assorted raw fish with rice) from Sakura, and I will admit the chirashi sushi is good. The price for the chirashi is somewhat steep though. The gyudon has not been good. The times I have had it, it has been dry and watered down. I have not tried the sushi anytime, so I cannot comment on this. The interior of the restaurant is decorated appropriately, and the dining area is spacious and very clean. The service staff is quick and polite. I would recommend Sakura, as it is one of the better Japanese restaurants I have been to in the Memphis area. However, I feel there is much room for improvement in their menu items. It is a bit on the pricier side, so expect to pay a little more than what you might normally pay for a meal.

  • Linz L.

Gross! I watched one of the sushi chefs, wearing the same pair of gloves, touch everything in the restaurant (including the bathroom door handle) and the proceed to make sushi. Another member of my family watched this same occurrence a few weeks before. I also reported this to the health department. Someone is going to get sick with this kind of behavior.

Sakura what can I say about you? One of the best in town, not authentic sushi but the rolls are great. The deep fried rolls are fantastic the rolls selection and fish quality are great. Do not miss out on the best sushi in town!

Have been twice for takeout sushi and found it only so-so. The second time, the restaurant had an unappetizing mildewy smell. Pass on this one and go a little east to Osaka.

I love Sakura. One of the better places in Memphis to get sushi. I realize some have given them poor marks for having a wide selection of rolls, but the selection is creative and the presentation is fantastic. The miso soup is consistently good. As far as rolls go, I don't think you can go wrong. I've had the crunchy spicy tuna, the crunchy crawfish, shrimp tempura, sexy lady, mexican, joyce, gillian, and gustav - each time the roll was a perfect medley of flavors. I'm partial to Sakura's crawfish rolls as they use the crawfish mixed with some other ingredients as the base. I've also had the tuna nigiri and thought it was some of the freshest I've had in the Memphis area. Friends have gotten the tempura and have said that it was light and not too terribly greasy. If you have children that are averse to sushi, then this place is probably not for you. No chicken nuggets on this menu. The waiters are always pleasant, but I will warn that this place can get very busy at lunch. Not only will you have to wait for a table, but you might spend some time searching for a parking spot as the lot is very small.

The perfect place for non sushi eating people. Rolls rolls and more rolls. Not a good place to have sashimi. The fish here is water, tasteless and... well... what Americans would like to say 'wow it's not even fishy!'. Hello!? If fish doesn't taste 'fishy', then it's not good fish LOL! They have some good rolls but so does every other place in town. It gets crowded and service slows down. I stopped going there since Sekisui Collierville opened and they have far better quality fish for sashimi then anywhere else in the Memphis area. If it's just rolls and some cooked food, this isn't a bad place to come spend your money.

Sushi in Memphis? As a Asian.... I think our expectations are generally higher for Asian food. Overall this place is good... and I gave it a 4-star vs. 3-star because I felt generous and I would definitely go back. If you are risk adverse like me, may I recommend always asking the sushi chefs what is fresh and what to order. We had two plates of the Hamachi sashimi (yummy), one plate of the salmon sashimi, and a variety of rolls. The rolls are large/long so you get your money's worth. (then again, the rolls did started to taste the same after the 3rd roll... and the wasabi was a little diluted). The red-bean ice cream was better than the green tea ice cream (on the other hand I would suggest passing on both). This place isn't Los Angeles Little Tokyo, yet it did comfort my desires for Asian food.

i have been to sakura for lunch and dinner. for lunch, i sat at the sushi bar. unfortunately, i sat on the side of the bar near the smoking section (it is my dream that one day they will go smokeless in restaurants here). the sushi was okay. i had a eel roll and a california roll. the owner was nice. he chatted with me. i asked if he was related to the family who had the sakura restaurant in the hickory hill area back in the 80's (yeah, i know i'm admitting i'm old). he said they were chinese and actually from jackson, tn. a few months later, a friend and i went for dinner. we tried an expensive specialty roll and a basic roll. also, i had a dinner with fish (mackerel) and rice. the food was not really that spectacular for the prices that they charged. i was kind of underwhelmed. i wanted it to be good because i liked the old sakura so much. the original sakura that my aunt and uncle took me took as a kid was so good that it made me crave sushi. so, i'm always on the quest for great sushi. maybe one day i will go back and try the sakura in germantown again.

I went to Tennessee for vacation and decided to give this place a try since I knew I couldn't find good sushi down south. I went to this place with a friend and I wasn't impressed. My Philadelphia Roll and My Crunchy Crab Roll was mediocre and didn't taste that fresh. My friend got the Joyce Roll and another specialty roll, she let me sample, it was obviously cooked because it was so effing hot and burned my mouth, they were way better than my rolls. The spicy mayo I received on the side wasn't fantastic either. The only good thing I got was the Seaweed Salad and the water, it was very good. The decor was from the 1980's, you could tell it was old and never updated which also put me off, everything was so mix matched. By the time we were ready to pay our waiter never came back to us. Supposedly their credit card machine was down and they needed to manually put in everyones order, it was so annoying. He could've at least checked in on us and check to see if we didnt die of boredom. Finally we tracked someone else that worked there down to let them know we wanted to pay. Luckily we had cash but still, they didnt tell anyone about this, we overheard from the table behind us. This place needs to take some advice from Bluefin over by Beale St., they know how to make sushi.

Always friendly, impeccable service. The fish is perfectly fresh and the portions are extremely generous. The Mardi Gras roll is a particular favorite, with the yummiest garnish of panko, tobiko, teriyaki, etc. ever. Unfortunately, the high prices preclude more frequent visits.

By far the best sushi place in Memphis, my favorite is the Joyce roll. Both locations are great and believe it or not the sushi is fresh, I say that because all is not.

BEST sushi restaurant in town. The place itself is not fancy but is nice and simple. Food is amazing, try the mermaid salad.

The best sushi we've found here. Start with the beef nigimake it's sizzling skirt steak wrapped in green onion with a sweet tangy sauce it's yummy then try the nigiri it's always fresh. The rolls are huge so 1 is plenty to share our fav is mardi gras. Quick service very quiet and calm interior.

Fantastic! Had the Joyce roll, Mango roll, Philly and Crunchy Crawfish. My only complaint was that the rolls were so huge we almost couldn't finish them. If you like "fancy" rolls, reasonable prices and good service, this is the place.

Wow. I'm genuinely impressed. I've eaten sushi all over the world, including the world famous Yoshi's in Okinawa. I even had the opportunity to try the fabled blowfish there. I would rate this establishment as among the best. Very fresh, and generous portions. A decent sake and wine selection. Service was great and overall ambiance is very nice. This will be my "go to" for sushi in and around Memphis. As I said, genuinely impressed.
