This place is close to my house and it's packed every time I pass by. It's no wonder because they have great food, fair prices, and good service. They serve your drink in a big mason jar too. I've never once needed a refill.

Had to finally stop in this bar b que joint that I live like a minute from. Now its a saturday afternoon and noon and the place was packed. Very friendly on there toes waitresses. I ordered the barbecue sandwich dry with slaw on it. The pulled pork was great nice smokey flavor on a nice size bun. Also had the potato salad. Wont order it again mostly mayo. ... Sweet tea was great. I asked for bannana pudding didnt have in so I got chocolate cobbler. I took it home and added whipped cream to it and they seriously must be arrested it was so damn good..try it.... Its a small town barbque joint with great food except the potato salad..

Sometimes hole-in-the-wall restaurants are the best in town! This place is situated in the middle of the projects in Gallatin and has some of the best BBQ around. I always get the pulled pork plate with hoecakes (teehee!), onion rings and mac & cheese-it never disappoints!! They also have fantastic sweet tea that is served in an oversized mason jar. The service is always on point and includes lots of "honey's" and "darlin's." Those ladies run around like crazy and work their butts off. As a result, the food comes out super quick. The price isn't bad either!

My daughter and I went to this litte GEM and it was great. I had the Catfish Nuggets and it was some of the best I've ever had. My daughter had a burger ( which I ate half off) and Wow. It was the best 3.99 burger ever! Looking forward to my next visit!

We have been here about 5times since reading about it on yelp. What a great place with fabulous food! Hubby had catfish which was delicious but someone should tell them that serving hush puppies with it would be perfect. Go there and EAT!

Great catfish. This is where all the locals go. My food and service were excellent and the portion sizes were extremely large. A must go.

Visited today for the first time. Food was awesome. We did have a small wait they asked if we preferred outside or inside we said inside. As we were seated my 2 year old wanted to go outside. They had no problem moving us outside. Our server was on top of everything. Did I say the food was amazing and they have fruit tea. Fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Wow this was a delightful find! Great food...excellent service and wonderful prices! The downfall...the wait, parking and the small size. But...and there is a but....it is worth it! If you like big juicy burgers, catfish, pulled pork, and all the homemade trimming ,(Southern style)....come on out! 2 of us ate till our bellies popped and our bill was .only$16!!!! Cash only though please.

This place has AWESOME food! Just like grandma made it!!! Their Catfish is to die for!!! Along with their homemade deviled eggs, coleslaw, and hoe cakes. Mmmm! ((That's what I order every time I go)) My fiance swears by their burgers. (I'm not real big on burgers.) This place is like a little hidden gem, here in Gallatin..... any time I have friends or company over, this is the place I bring them, to treat them to some awesome eats. YOU GOTTA TRY IT! Btw..... if there was ANYTHING negative I had to say about this place, it would be that they are almost always packed..... but the wait isn't usually longer than 5-10 minutes. ((And I also really wished they made hush puppies! They'd be awesome with the catfish!))

Subpar all around except for the exceptionally kind and attractive wait staff - and it was relatively cheap. Onion rings tasted like the fry oil was old. Ribs fell of the bone but were very wet, too much BBQ sauce, and they had an off flavor of missing spices or subpar meat. Catfish wasn't impressive. Good batter, but just middle of the road. Hoecakes were dry and needed gobs of butter. Won't go back - so many better places to get BBQ.

Great BBQ and hoe cakes. Slaw is home made. Always packed, sometimes there is a wait for a table. Took Mom and we each had plenty of ribs left to take home. It will stay on our list for satisfying our BBQ cravings.

Everything I have ever ate in Top Hog is good and the Ladies are super nice and always helpful. The baked beans and potato salad is very good and the cheeseburgers are the best I have ever had in this world.

If you ask locals where to go for BBQ, this is what they'll all say. Some even claim the hamburger is the best in town (although I think that's a stretch). This is a quaint little dive that is almost always packed. The servers are all hard working local gals who know the menu inside and out. If you're looking for a country style meat and three with a lot of local character, this is the place. A few warnings; there is no alcohol, so if you're dreaming of a beer with your pork sandwich, you're out of luck. Also, they do not accept credit cards. Remarkably, if you don't have cash on you, they'll give you an IOU. This is that kind of place-they won't take your plastic but they'll let you return tomorrow and pay. They also have a robust take out business. Put this on your list if you're driving through town or live nearby.

This place hits the nail on the head from every direction. Perfect location allows for appropriate parking, great outdoor seating, and a great indoor atmosphere. The wait staff is top notch and one of the friendliest I've encountered. I always get the catfish plate and it's always cooked to perfection along with the sides that are always good. Tea in mason jars feels appropriate and the decor I side couldn't be more perfect. I go back every time I'm home.
(5)Shauna G.
absolutely the best catfish, burgers and bbq around! you will not find anything better! it's definitely worth the wait, if you have to wait!!!! love it!
(5)Chelsea C.
When I went to eat there the line was out the door and around the porch. We decided to come back another time.
(3)Andrew C.
Very good barbecue and customer service was great. I only gave it four stars because of my personal preference in barbecue. I guess that is fair. Maybe i should give it 5 because it was very good but i am a barbecue snob. Anyway, i will go back to try the catfish. I was told by other customers as i was leaving that the catfish is over the top great.

This is one of those awesome little secrets in Gallatin. When you pull up to the location it is in the middle of the projects. It leaves you with the feeling you may get mugged or car jacked walking thru the parking lot. Trust me....you won't. The people that live out here are very friendly. Top Hog is a nice little BBQ and Burger joint. You walk into a rustic style restaurant with wood floors and walls. There is a small bar top but its usually only used for spill over sitting. If you don't get there when they open be prepared to wait. Even if you do get there when they open, be prepared to wait. I have only tried the burgers....they are that good. There is no need for me to try anything else. Get it on Texas Toast (yummy). As I mentioned before you have to get there early or be prepared to wait. As busy as they are the wait staff has always been friendly and courteous. They don't rush you out the door when you are done. Highly recommend eating here.

This place is the real deal. Sweet tea in oversized mason jars, BBQ on hoe cakes, and deviled eggs as a side...yes please! It's everything this former southerner misses about his new Boston home. The burgers also looked amazing and the price cannot be beat.
(5)Brandi W.
One of the best places to eat in Sumner County! Excellent food and the staff is wonderful! I have had the catfish, bbq, chicken, veggies, hamburger- it's all fantastic- can't go wrong with any meal here! The prices are amazing for all the goodness you get!
(5)Melissa G.
You should eat here if you are in Gallatin! Everything is fantastic. I love the burger and home style fries.

One of the best kept secrets in middle Tennessee... Out of the way. Small. I'd have never known about this place without a friend recommending it... And boy am I glad they did. Incredible food. Friendly service. Down home style. Huge Mason jars of tea. Great prices. I really can't rave over this place enough. You just gotta check it out yourself.

One of the best BBQ restaurants in Tenn! Do not judge a book by its cover, nor a restaurant by its location. Top Hog is situated in the worst neighborhood in Gallatin, but do not let that stop you! All of the meats are smoked on site in the smokehouse out back, the catfish is battered and fried to perfection, and the dessert selection (cobblers, pies, puddings, etc) are made fresh daily. Get there early before they run out! This family run restaurant has great food in large portions, exceptionally friendly service and very reasonable prices. They have indoor/outdoor seating, and a small counter area. They are always crowded at mealtimes, so get there early! I will continue to eat there regularly, and recommend this place to anyone who comes to Gallatin.

A lot of food for your money! Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious. Mac & Cheese is yummy! Huge selection of sides too. CASH OR CHECK ONLY!!

Visiting nearby relative and found this place on Yelp. Everything was delicious. Was very busy and one of those hidden gem type places where venturing off the beaten path pays off.
(5)James B.
Great local Gallatin down home cooking!
(5)Andy G.
Top Hog is Tops in all they do! Can't say enough about the service and food. Great hometown atmosphere where you feel at home. Had about every item on the menu and no complaints at all. More food than you can eat. You have to try their bar-b-que..Ummmm.
(5)Anthony P.
We had catfish and a hamburger. All very very good and tasty. The place was already packed out by early Saturday afternoon. Seemed a bit chaotic to me, but everyone was friendly and service was great. We're already planning on when we'll be able to go back.

I have had what is supposed to the best b.b.q.in Memphis.Top hog blows that out of the water. The service is great and friendly. My only complaint is itisnt big enough. If you dont get there early you willhave to wait.when the weather is nice they have outside seating.Definately Gallatins best kept secret.
(5)Mark R.
Great service, great price, hidden location, and great catering. Hoe cakes, onion ring, BBQ - everything is good. Few flies outside in the summer on occasion.
(5)Hart P.
We had to find a new place when the Cockeyed Pig closed. BBQ is just as good but they do burgers as well and they are great. Fun to eat here as the staff is down home friendly and glasses are bell jars. Kids found that "old fashioned." Corn bread the way you expect.
(5)Samantha S.
Delish!! Corn cakes are sooo good. Best pulled pork I had in Nashville. Cooked to perfection. Onion rings and coleslaw were nice sides with the pork. Get a scoop of cherry cobbler to go....Better then the peach... Your gonna be stuffed but you'll be happy you have a snack in the fridge later in the day.
(5)Tracy H.
The best BBQ place you've probably never heard of! Great food, ( hamburgers are fantastic) quick service at a decent price. You'll have to show early to get a seat though, otherwise the line is out the door.
(4)Renee A.
We ate here for the first time last Saturday. I had the pulled pork, onion rings, potato salad and hoe cakes. The meat was good with a nice smokiness, but it was pretty standard. I did not care for the sauce on the table -- too ketchup-y (but it wasn't ketchup). When I was almost finished eating, I saw a waitress bring another table some different sauces, so next time I visit, I'll make sure to ask for other sauces. The sides were out of this world. Best onion rings ever. If it wasn't homemade, the potato salad tasted homemade, unlike every other BBQ joint I've ever been to. It was divine. The hoe cakes, too, were spectacular. I'll definitely be back!
(4)Adam K.
Wow...awesome food and good price. Large portions...cozy inside. Sketchy location but well worth the adventure. Always busy so get there early. Everything is good. They take cash or check only. This place should get featured on a food channel or special.
(5)Wills G.
Best BBQ around. My favorite spot to eat in Gallatin! Huge portions at a great price. Be aware that they don't take credit cards.
