My husband and I ate in the sit-down section for lunch. This was our first time in, and were pleasantly surprised that it was casual, and less stuffy. We both ordered a lunch box (which comes with miso soup and salad); my husband had the Hibachi Steak, Tempura Veggies, Fried Rice, and it also comes with assorted sushi rolls. I had the Teriyaki Shrimp, sautéed veggies, steamed rice and assorted sushi rolls. Both of us were happy with how the food was prepared, and tasted. It was a nice lunch-and we enjoyed it. Our waitress was friendly, and very observant. She never let our drinks get below half full. We took home our leftovers, and had enough for lunch the next day. The price was great for lunch (8.00-10.00 for lunch box) and we will be going back.

Service was kinda rushed, wasabi wasnt fresh, and the meat was before the veggies... i mean wtf lol. Fortune cookie was stale :( and the fried rice almost tasted like mexican rice... Other than that it was just ok.. and by just ok, I mean more than likely... I won't be goin back

I visited here with a friend who is a connoisseur of sushi, although he prefers the all you can eat kind you'll find at Chinese buffets. We got the single roll lunch special, which comes with soup and salad. The roll was excellent, the miso soup was good, and the salad was fresh. The server was attentive, the sushi cook was friendly, and the price is good. I agree with other reviewers who are critical of the decor; it is very average. But this is Gallatin, so it's reasonable to adjust expectations. They also have hibachi, although it is not included in the standard lunch price. As far as I know, this is the best fresh sushi in town.

Ugh. Service is always poor, the carpet sticks to your shoes, Beatles crawling on the table, dirty dishes, and unfriendly staff. Will NOT be returning no matter how convenient the people I work with think it is for a lunch spot. Not to mention the food is super oily, and always upsets my stomach. Now they add tip in even though we only had 5 people in our party. I'm assuming it's bc people didn't often tip due to crappy service? Yet dare they care to step up customer service, no.

Oh my. Been a couple years since we have been here but decided to give it another try. Normally we go to Kabutos. The restaurant is dirty with no atmosphere. The tables are all lined up with no dividers. The cook had no personality. No volcano, rice design or tossing shrimp. Everything the kids love. The food was messy and my plate was full of sauce. No noodles at the end of the meal. Also expensive. Last trip ever.

OMG, nastiest restaurant in Gallatin! We ate there Friday, September 4, 2015. The carpet is hideous and sticky, the walls are partially painted, there was a partition hiding buckets of something in the middle of the restaurant, the maintenance closet door was wide open so you could see all the nasty cleaning equipment, etc, (that hadn't been used in a while obviously) and the final straw was a cock roach running up the wall. We had finished eating when my 3 year old grandson yelled there's a bug on the wall and I was hoping and praying it wasn't a roach but gosh darn, it was a ROACH! I had to leave to keep from throwing up! Totally, Totally the most disgusting place I have eaten in years! Don't Go!

The decor: Standard faire. The restaurant is divided in two. One side is for the Americanized hibachi grill with common seating. The other half is normal seating in tables. I have only eaten the sushi here. The place is extremely DARK. And a trip to the restroom revealed some semi-uncleanliness. The food: its pretty standard sushi. Not the best but if you find yourself stuck in Gallatin for some unholy reason, and are craving sushi, this is a safe bet. Service: Very very good service. No complaints. I don't like their music selection. It's country. (Yuck). Who wants to listen to country music blaring while engaging in a fake Japanese front? I mean, I realize this is not authentic, at least put some new age music, or Japanese music, or something. Two stars. Change your music. Get a clue.

Five stars for the food and the service but two for the foul musty smell when you walk in the door, yuck. Please clean the carpet or anything. I almost walked out.

I just moved to town so I was excited about trying this place - I have not dined in, but I ordered Togo and was completely let down. I ordered edamame and that was the best of what I ordered, which says A lot. I ordered sashimi tuna and it was only one overpriced piece that was not fresh. I ordered a side of hibachi shrimp and it was 6.95 for maybe 8 max really small shrimp. Then I ordered a cucumber salmon roll that was weirdly soggy and the cucumber was not rolled right and falling apart. I would like to dine in and if my experience is different I will certainly change and edit my review.

So, we just literally had the worst experience ever here. Food and service were both terrible. Our table never got any drink refills. Hibachi food was bland. When the chef cleaned the grill, the rag he used was unbelievably nasty and smelled. We got up from the table after waiting 15 min for the waitress to come back and take our check (which was totally wrong) and went to the bar to try to pay. The girl behind the bar named Melinda promptly informed us she was not working today and offered no help. Manager can over to ring us up (which took another 5 min) and could not care less that we were not happy. Just told the waitress to come over like a coward instead of deal with us himself. In her defense, she was dealing with 3 tables, yet that's no excuse to completely ignore people trying to get your attention. We told him we'd never be back and he said that was fine. Unbelievable.

Waiter was rude and we were rushed through everything. Hibachi was decent, although everything was too spaced out. 3 mins in between meat, rice, and veggies. I've never been to a Japanese place that didnt have ginger dressing and gave chicken noodle soup and not miso or a JAPANESE soup. I got chicken noodle soup and plain lettuce with ranch. Really? I got the rainbow roll and that was also a disappointment. Very bland. Don't confuse this place with the other Koi in Nashville. That's what I did and you will not be happy about it.

Good boxed lunch with a little bit of everything , filet especially good. It was not overly crowded and the service was pretty quick.

Stopped at Koi Saturday 3-8-14 and ordered chicken Tempura, Shrimp Roll, Avocado Roll, a Steak Roll (good), and Miso Soup all to go. Wait was about 15 min, all packaged well and very tasty. Took it home and had a nice meal with a pretty lady as well as seeing a good movie.

It was more mellow then what I am use to, they didn't have much interaction with us. I enjoyed that fact, the hibachi was fun to watch and I would recommend it for any type of dinner. I didn't eat any sushi... This time, but the rolls that came out for people around me looked incredible. I had the red snapper, cooked perfect, at around $15. I will be back.

Not bad at all! We're in town from Orlando visiting family for Christmas and my boyfriend suggested we go. We don't do chains so we decided to try it out. We didn't sit at the hibachi but we did order the steak and chicken hibachi lunch special. We ordered our steak medium. Everything was pretty tasty! We were both pleasantly surprised. The lunch special comes with a chicken broth "soup" that I wasn't too enthused about but the ginger salad dressing they use is pretty good. If you're looking for a hibachi joint and one of the few non-chain places in town, I recommend it!

Inside a small strip mall, this Japanese restaurant is nicely appointed. The ingredients for their sushi are on display and you can choose to be at the hibachi cookers or to sit in a booth. We were glad to be in a booth as our children are afraid of the fire show that typically wows the patrons. We were not as pleased to learn that there were NO kids' menus. Could not believe this. Also, the ranch dressing seemed to be watered down with way too much poured on the salad. Ask for it on the side. The "yum-yum" sauce was good and so was the sriracha. The wasabi was a bit mild. I enjoyed my well presented entree (Teriyaki Chicken) and believed it to be a good value as it came with four sushi rolls. Plus, you get broth and a salad. This is unheard of for lunch. Although, it may have been because it was Sunday lunch. Not sure. My wife was not entirely pleased with hers, but we sent it back and it was politely removed from the bill.

Standard sushi-hibachi place. Service was very good and a solid selection of rolls to choose from. Good value for money.

Had sushi and lettuce wraps. Good food. Bathroom could use a little work. Began to wash my hands and the spout leaned to the left side and almost came out of the sink. It could use a little more cleanliness. This has nothing to do with the restaurant, however there was a young lady that decided that she would clean off her freshly "inked" leg in the ladies room. Not very sanitary.

One of my favorite hibachi restaurants. More affordable than most, and good quality food. Try the spicy rice ( you have to ask for it ).

No complaints. Nice restaurant. Previous review said something about the restrooms. Must have gotten fixed. I had lunch sushi combo C and water to drink (5pc sushi- California and crunchy shrimp rolls / drank water - $10.87 before the tip. I'll go back.
