Not impressed. Maybe it's too authentic, maybe is is just not that good. I doubt I would give it another shot with another great Indian restaurant nearby!

Ok people, Other than being an Indian restaurant this one is specifically an authentic south Indian Andhra restaurant. it is a little bit expensive on one side but is better on the quality part. There is four types of Indian food, South Indian, North Indian, East Indian and West Indian food most of them are familiar with North and South Indian. Anyways a small note for all Indians do not expect your type food or taste if it is the opposite of yours, like do not expect north Indian food in south Indian restaurant and vice versa applies to all groups. Also for south Indians this is specifically an Andhra restaurant so set your mind before you go there. I know the cook she is very open for any extra requests. She cooks it all home style and I just love it became am from the same regional area. And the menu makes more sense for me. it's a little pricy though but I know it's fresh but may not make any sense for others without knowing much about the food. Notes to restaurants. ... I know it would be difficult to reduce the price but gotta do it. that's were it lags. Nashville has mixed groups so make changes accordingly. also please keep the same standards for Andhra Food I love it that way.

Great food, friendly service! They were really busy, but took care of us well. They can sure make it spicy!

Fairly standard Indian fare at the lunch buffet offered here, everything I had was yummy. Attentive and friendly service. Closed on Mondays. I would gladly return to Swagruha.

Love this place! The masala dosa is so delectable and everything else I've had has been top notch. Love that the chef comes out and talks to you. They do a dosa buffet during Sunday lunch which I'll definitely be coming back for.

Humble. Family-run. Astounding. Consistent. Period. If you have a bad experience you owe it to yourself to try again. This restaurant is a gem wrapped in the space of an old chicken finger shop. So, the ambiance is quaint, at best. Call it local charm. It's Indian food and you're not there to eat the building. Internet menu? Some day. I use the menu at the restaurant. Curry. Korma. Meat. Veggie. Sambal. It's as fabulous as any I've experienced anywhere in the US or Britain. And the lunch buffet is a treat with enough spice to keep it authentic. Order a la carte and you can heat it up to your taste. Win-win. Don't miss it.

I read Ashok's poor review and it sounded way too personal to be an unbiased review. So I decided to try this restaurant myself and was pleasantly surprised. I thought the experience was fabulous and the food was great. Sounds to me like Ashok has serious life issues and may need therapy

It was destiny that I'd love this restaurant. I love Swagruha's location in the Farmer's Market, which is just a walk-up counter. And I've been looking for an Indian buffet so I can try things I'm not familiar with. So when I found out Swagruha's Cool Springs restaurant has a lunch buffet -- on the weekend, too -- I was there. The buffet had a great selection of well made, mild Indian dishes. They had three kinds of rice -- all fluffy and flavorful -- and a bunch of different entrees in sauces to pour over them. I especially liked the butter chicken and Mattar paneer. The naan was good, but soggy from sitting on the steam table. I tried some of the sauces on the separate bar, and they were quite good but I didn't quite know what to do with them other than dip naan in them. Dessert was odd in a good sort of way: basically donut holes swimming in syrup. Service was great, and the place was very clean and well kept. The price of $9.99 was a steal considering all you can get (if you make as many trips as me).

Ugh. Swag. So good. Their goat curry is next level. My favorite dish has got to be the chicken tikka marsala. It is the perfect level of spicy. Beats out all of the other Indian restaurants in the area. And the naan... for the love of naan. Crap... now I have to go for the lunch buffet tomorrow.

Swag brings it. In spades. The best indian food I have had since my stint in SE Asia. This is Southern Indian food. Siva, the owner who commands the kitchen with her husband, the savvy Dr. Vijay assisting, with their handsome son and beautiful daughter when on breaks from their challenging college regimens, knock this food out every day and night (except Mondays). We've been coming for over a year at least once a week except for a few weeks recently due to nutty schedules. The food is consistently exceptional. Execution has been consistently meticulous. Flavors are spice and garlic forward. No shrinking, self conscious presentation of Americanized standards. Nope. Full on, heady spice and black pepper. We always come away feeling deeply nourished, palate and soul, sinuses free and roaming. Standouts that we enjoy time and again: Appetizers: Chili chicken (we order it "burning down the house" hot), Gobi Manchuria (cauliflower like nobody's business), onion pakodi (Indian onion "rings") -- crispy crazy delicious piping hot Entrees: Paneer butter masala (buttery, unctuous), Gongurra goat curry (piquant, spicy hot, funky goat), Tindoora Fry (exotic stir fried Indian squash), lamb Biriyani (spicy, fluffy, savory rice party on your plate). Masala Dosa: foot long rice crepe with spiced up white potato stuffing (gluten free) Breads: Papadam (gluten fee) Garlic nan Idli (steamed rice bread - gluten free) Masala (rice crepe - gluten free) Cheese Dosa (Indian grilled cheese) Desserts: Gulab jamun, mango mousse Drinks: Mango lassi Masala chai Flying horse beer King fisher beer Taj beer Yelper Richard Y. brilliantly recognized Swag's chili chicken as Nashville's other hot chicken. We always over order and eat for a week b/c this food is impossibly better 2-3 days later. We are back on schedule with Swag--a year later and it still tastes delicious and fresh each time we visit.

Ok, wanted to upgrade this review to 5 stars because we've come back several times and this place is simply the best Indian food in the area. I just love their paneer butter masala. We've only eaten here on weekday evenings for dinner, and it's never been busy. The servers and cooks are so nice and attentive. They always bring me out fresh rice to go when I have leftover masala to take home. I always have plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day.

Great dinner here! Can't wait to go back for lunch so I can try a little bit of everything! Can't believe that we were the only patrons during our entire dinner but I guess it's more of a lunch place. Indian food is quickly becoming one of my faves and this place is the best I've had around the area!

Decided to give this place a shot after reading the glowing reviews from Yelper Mary F. and boy am I glad I did. This is, without a doubt, the tastiest Indian food I've had in Middle Tennessee. I know a lot of people swear by Bombay Bistro as the best, but I must respectfully disagree. Everything on the lunch buffet was so flavorful and well balanced. The spices and curries were wonderful without being so overpowering that they mask the other ingredients. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that they don't mind giving a few of their items a spicy kick. It seems a lot of Cool Springs restaurants tone that down a bit. The curry goat was to die for. This is my new go-to spot for Indian and I'll definitely be coming here regularly.

Ok, we are Indian cuisine novices, but the menu was simple, clear, and the staff helpful. We all stuck close to the traditional options and found the servings to be generous, the mild to be a little spicy, and the medium to be pretty hot. If you're tired of the same old options, step out of your comfort zone, try some Indian, and definitely order the naan with whatever you choose. The butter chicken was the mildest of our dishes, but filling. The chicken Tikka (hope I spelled that right) was a little spicier and offer a more savory option than the butter chicken. The third dish in our group was a medium chicken curry. My son loved it when we were there and for leftovers the next day. Lastly, I can't remember what was in the red chutney, but it was awesome on everything! Hidden in a corner near the theater, it's worth a visit.

We were so sad to learn from the owner that they are closing this restaurant to open a sports bar in the same location. We love their southern Indian food, but it is doubtful we will ever get down to the Farmer's Market in downtown Nashville to eat at their other location. This was so convenient--idli and dosa in our backyard--no more : ( Best wishes to the owners on their new endeavours.

Not going back as the food was disappointing. They serve store bought naan. We ordered two dishes and the curries were same in both.

I was very impressed with Swagruha. The food was spicy, unique, and delicious! I do not have much history with Indian cuisine, but I will definitely go back to Swagruha. The service was excellent. I admitted that I as completely ignorant about "what was what" on the menu. Our waiter was incredibly patient and went through all of my questions. I felt confident trying something new, but really needed the direction. My wife and I went with the garlic naan. It was very good and a great item to have on the table as you navigate the spicy stuff. She ordered a curry that good and spicy. It reminded me of the type of curry you might eat at a Thai restaurant. I went with the Hyderabadi Dhum Biryani. This is a rice dish with chicken mixed into it. Excellent! We both went with the medium spice on our dishes and I think that was the right call. If you want to enjoy the meal and not pour sweat in the middle of the restaurant, I would stick to medium. When we were ready to leave, they boxed up everything for us. We had plenty left over and they even made some fresh rice for my wife to take home for her curry. Our waiter was also "Johnny on the spot" with the water. I appreciated that because the medium will still warm you up! Give this place a shot! It's right by the movie theater and they do an excellent job. The lady that cooks there came out to talk to everyone as they wrapped up their meals. She took a lot of pride in making sure that they enjoyed everything.

Like home cooking. Best Indian food in Williamson County! The rice was cooked perfectly, buttered chicken and chicken Korma were delicious. Service was prompt and personable. We will definitely be coming back. Don't miss out on this opportunity for amazing and authentic Indian cuisine.

Went for lunch, and it was buffet only. All the food was cold, then I saw them trying to fix the heaters and they apologized that it was cold but still charged us full price.

Paneer butter Marsala is awesome and so is every other dish on the menu. Even expats say this place beats'em all in the Nashville area. Come enjoy this family owned restaurant and support great food!

In my opinion, this is the best Indian food in Franklin. Try the butter chicken and ask for it "native" spicy. This with some butter naan would be my last meal request if I ever find myself on death row. The portions here are larger than the other Indian places in town. I leave hungry everywhere else I go. Not here!

As a long time patron of Indian restaurants here in Nashville and elsewhere, I am not very impressed with Swagruha. 1. Even if you ask for mild it will be extremely spicy. 2. They do not warn you that the chicken has very small bones in it and they do not have boneless chicken available. 3. Service is polite but uneven. 4. There is no online menu, the website does not have the Cool Springs contact info. If they can fix the spice level it would improve the experience. I myself will not be back.

I have said for a long time that the Swagruha buffet in the Nashville Farmer's Market is the best Indian food in Nashville. Sometimes when a restaurant opens a second location, something suffers. But not in this case! The full service restaurant in Franklin is the same great food in a better atmosphere and with an expanded menu. How do they keep the food quality the same? Siva, the owner spent some time talking with us on Sunday. She recognized me from the Farmer's Market, and we learned a lot about her and her perspective on food. She runs a nut-free kitchen (most Indian food has cashews, almonds, etc. as a base for their food) and stays away from seafood to prevent allergy concerns. She come into the Franklin restaurant in the morning to set the buffet, then drives to the Nashville location to make sure everything runs smoothly from 12-2. After that, back to Franklin until the restaurant closes. She is so sweet, and so dedicated to the experience that it's no wonder the food is so awesome. If you have any special requests, just ask for her. She'll make it special for you. My favorites are holdovers from the Farmer's Market location - butter chicken (yum!) and chili chicken appetizer. I'm fortunate to work in Nashville and live in Franklin - perfect for lunch at the Farmer's Market and dinner 5 minutes from the house!

Tried this new place last Saturday, their second night of serving. We really wanted to have a third Indian choice in Franklin that we liked. Sorry to say the service was poor, one entree came out barely warm, our Marsala tea was the same lukewarm temp, and the food taste was just average. I will say that our samosa appetizer was very good. Perhaps they will work out the bugs and improve, we'll give them another shot in a couple of months.

The food was amazing and so was the service. This is now my new favorite restaurant. I would recommend the butter chicken. The Naan dipped in the yogurt sauce was also delicious.

Buffet had very little to choose from and with the price being $10.95 I expected a lot more variety or with the drink at least included in the price. Was not impressed at all. Will not be returning

I enjoyed the lunch buffet today for the first time. There was a good selection and the food was fresh. The paneer was especially good. It's nice to have a new Indian food option in Cool Springs! I will definitely be back to try the other items on the buffet.

Good southern Indian cruisine near Cool Springs mall is at the new Swagruha Indian restaurant. The Mango Pudding and the payasam pudding are my favorite desserts here. The vegetarian Mattar Paneer has moderately spiced cheese and peas, and the yogurty vegetable korma is also easy on the palate. The chicken samosa is a bit spicier. I can tell that owners Siva and Vijay Pavuluri don't skimp on the cumin or other spices. Their food has warm personality. I doubly enjoyed the cool smoothie which was fruity and also soothed my spiced tongue.

This restaurant is a great addition to the variety of cuisines located Franklin. The South Indian style dishes are delicious and a direct result of the time and quality put into making them. Swagruha is a family owned and operated restaurant and has recipes handed down from generations with a friendly atmosphere. I definitely will visit again to get a satisfied stomach and a taste of true Indian excellence!

The waiters are very polite but are very under staffed. They need to hire more people for waiting tables so they can pay more attention to their clients. The food was good but the service was terrible because there is only one person in the mornings. There are also cockroaches all over the place I was walking back from the buffet and I saw one crawl out from under a booth! I was shocked. I don't think I'll ever be going back again. STAY AWAY! Who knows what other kind of animals are in the kitchen.

Great tasting food. Just the right amount of spice. The buffet has a good variety of meats and veggies.

Extremely poor service. Appetizer came cold. Had to return it. Then the entree came before the redone appetizer. Entree was a Dose which came without Sambhar. Server brought out the Sambhar when 3/4th of the Dosa was already consumed. Just 2 people serving the entire restaurant. Had to wait a long time to even get a glass of water. I will never go back to this restaurant.
