I really love the ribs. Sadly, they are only offered on Friday and Saturday. Each of the meats are nicely done with two sauces that come close to approximating Texas and Carolina varieties. Slaw is tasty. Potato salad as well. Daily specials are inventive. Everything is affordable. A while ago they used to offer Brunswick Stew that we liked quite a bit. It has fallen by the wayside as "it wasn't a consistent seller".

BBQ NACHOS. One of my favorite local Franklin dishes. Ask for extra Jalapenos and BBQ sauce. Love the fact that they have a drive-thru. they are always very fast and convenient. I have high standards for BBQ and this is one of my favorites in town.

A friend and I went to this place for lunch the other day and my mouth is still watering just thinking about it. We both ordered BBQ sandwiches and they were amazingly good. The fries and onion rings were also great and the sweet tea had that perfect sweetness too. The menu also has a few somewhat unique entrees on it, like BBQ burritos, BBQ baked potatoes and BBQ nachos. They also have daily specials so check out their menu. We will be going back! PROS -Awesome BBQ -Perfect sweet tea -Some unique entree choices -Great prices -Friendly staff CONS -Limited seating

Barbecue is a fascinating subject. People are just as passionate about barbecue as they are religion and politics. Stroud's barbecue is from the Lexington, North Carolina tradition. The pork is marinated in a vinegar sauce for many hours. I am not sure how they roast the meat, but the meat comes out very moist. It lacks the deep rich smokey flavor, but it's a decent pulled pork. The sandwich comes with pickles, slaw AND mayo! The confidents on the table include the vinegar sauce and a Tomato based sauce. Overall, it's decent pork sandwich.

I've never eaten at any of the Stroud's locations but I've had the Arnold Palmer from the original several times and is by far the best I've had in the greater Nashville area. However, the Franklin location refused to do a gallon of half tea and half lemonade. So I can get a large cup of it but not a gallon!? Tell me how that logic works..? The BBQ was not worth the drive without the Arnold Palmer.

Stroud's BBQ ... quick, convenient, fair-to-middlin' ribs (served Friday & Saturday only) are semi-dry-style, yet moist, tender, savory and mildly sweet with a little after-bite of pepper. Nice smoke aroma fills the air at the restaurant but most of the meats were just mildly smoked at best. Their red sauce, served on the side is forgettable. Savory sweet baked beans. Coleslaw is a vinegar-based pepper-slaw style. BBQ chicken and turkey are both moist and tender. Pulled pork is fine, but not a medal winner. Potato salad is acceptable, mustard-based (Amish style to some). BBQ baked potato is a treat. Better yet, try a BBQ Burrito. All very reasonably priced. Worth repeat visits. BTW...relatively new quirky pass through counter made from an old Chevy (truck?) front end ... love it! Nice touch Strouds.

I'm not real sure you can call this bbq. I'm really not sure I've ever actually detected smoke on the meat. I've never smelled smoke from the kitchen and never seen a pile of wood on the he property. The meat is cooked well beyond tender, and usually has a mushy texture from soaking in a vinegar finishing sauce until serving. But 3 stars because it is cheap and fast. Like they say, "you can pick 2 of the 3 - good, cheap, or fast." Side are reasonably good. Get your bbq on nachos and it'll be good pork nachos, and you don't have to think about how it doesn't actually taste like bbq. Sauce is reasonably good and sides are decent. Staff is friendly and quick. Sweet tea is good and sweet, very southern. Staff is friendly.

This total dive serves up pulled pork, beef, and turkey, along with ribs (on Friday and Saturday). I'll be frank-- Stroud's sweet sauce makes the BBQ worthwhile. The pulled pork is good, not dry but not highly flavored either. The ribs came six to an order and also demanded a generous slathering of their sauce. If you get a platter, it's about $6 - $8 and you get sides (baked beans, golden hued potato salad, or cole slaw, plus a "yeast roll"-- which tastes and looks like a yeasty muffin). Free refills on your sweet tea care of the cherubic servers.

i was hit like a mack truck with a craving for barbecue, and this place was accessible for a timely lunch break run. i ordered the pulled pork plate (i normally order brisket, but they didn't have brisket--what kind of operation is this?!) with sides of macaroni 'n cheese and beans i arrived back at my place of employment, opened my box, and my heart surely crumbled. did i accidentally order a kids plate? a toddler meal? there was only about 2 tablespoons of pork--seriously, ate it all in like 4 bites---not the ginormous, godzilla of eating bites, just normal bites. the sides portion was also tiny tiny--like ramican size :( i guess the macaroni was decent enough, though i couldn't form a real option given how few bites were involved in my tiny portion of that too. if the bbq is awesome enough, you really don't need sauce, but this place, i did. except the sauce they gave me was 2 thimbles with lids :( it wasn't bad, but it wasn't life changing--and i like for my life to be changed with bbq. also, the other strike was the minuscule portions.

Great BBQ nachos!!! Fast service. Really love this place. (Might wish there were more BBQ sauce options)

I recommended Strouds today at work for our lunch. I have been coming here for years and have never had a problem- however today was a different story. I went through the drive thru- as i am waiting for the person in front of me an employee came to my window and asked to take my order bc the person in front of me ordered fries and It would be a few. I told him I wanted 3 BBQ sandwiches with 2 sides on mac and cheese and one baked bean. I get to the window paid and head back to work. I get back to work and open the bag to give everyone there food and I got 3 sandwich's with 3 teeny tiny side cups that literally had enough food in there for ONE BITE. Please keep in mind I work and a body shop so these men are hungry. The sandwiches were smothered in mayo and pickles!! EW! I wish I would have known that came on the sandwiches as I would of requested it plain. Also has no utensils in the bag so here we are trying to eat out sides with..........?? I paid $8 for something that should of been $3. I am very unhappy with strouds and so are my co workers who have never been there and now plan to never eat there again. STEP IT IP GUYS!

The food is not mediocre but it is not mind blowing either. It is also priced a little to high for the quality of bbb it is. The banana pudding is good.

We recently moved to the area and picked up some value pack of pork tonight. The mean is very juicy but lacks any hint of smoke. My 2-year-old son loved it. The mac and cheese was very soupy and delicious. I'm not a fan of the vinegary slaw but that is my personal preference. The gentlemen at the window was polite and I was away with my food in a minute. We will be back.

When I asked my Mother what she wanted to do on Mother's Day and she said "bring some BBQ over and let's eat", I went into panic mode. Why? Because most BBQ places I've seen are closed on Sunday. This is horrible, I know, since I usually crave BBQ on Sunday. However, turns out Stroud's BBQ in Franklin is open. And since it is sort of on my way home to Fairview, I decided to give it a try. Nice, clean building with rows of booths inside if you want to eat there. You order through a window up at the front of the room or you can do the drive through. I got the package with 2lbs of pulled pork with 12 buns and 2 sides and threw on a couple other sides since I wanted options. That plus a diet Coke for me was just under $40. Not bad for a full meal! Got the food home and the verdict goes like this: Pulled pork - the pork was juicy and it had some smoky flavor and pretty much hit the spot. Didn't try their sauce as I used some of the hot sauce I brought back from Lynchburg. Mac-n-cheese - this was really good mac and cheese. The cheese was creamy and the macaroni was not overcooked. Definitely better than other places where it looks like they nuked some Kraft Mac and Cheese after cooking the hell out of the noodles until they all fell apart. Definitely get this side! Cole slaw - I'm just learning to love cole slaw, but it really has to be cole slaw not mayo-based. This was fresh, cool, and I didn't see any creamy mayo mess at all. Pretty good if you also don't like mayo. Beans and potato salad - not sure as I do not eat these items. My family seemed to like them though. Overall a pretty solid place to get BBQ! I see they are open for breakfast too - they need a pulled pork taco option! (Oh, we aren't in TX? So what, put a taco on there!!) Also, they are open on Sundays and I think that alone means I will come back even though I will have to drive to Franklin to do it.

The barbecue is great, and the crushed ice for the drinks makes the tea or coke taste better than anywhere else. They give free drink refills all day and have the nicest people serving customers. It is a family-run little gem of a joint that any barbecue lover should visit. They even give dog treats to the canine customers! Great barbecue, great drinks and refills, great staff, great place!

This is good pig. I've had better, but this place is consistently REALLY good. And decently priced. I'm a big fan of the potato salad. Tastes like from a church social which is a good thing.

Very good, cheap and fast BBQ. I have been several times and it has been great each time. The staff is great and the prices are awesome. I recommend the nachos!

Awesome BBQ. Be careful if you order the hot sauce because it is HOT. Portions are generous and unlike most BBQ places you can get fries with that. Staff is always very friendly. They have differrent deals of the day. Family pack day is my favorite. They do have awesome sweet tea. You can actually taste the tea over the suger LOL.
