Went here on a date night and had a fabulous time. The staff was very friendly and professional. The restaurant was perfect for a date night as it was candle lit and romantic. I had the prime rib which was good, but I wish it would it would have had a little more flavor. The bill was pretty pricey, even though we both just ordered basic entrees and no drinks (just water). But I guess this was to be expected as most entrees were in the $30 range. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good restaurant/steakhouse, just be sure to have your wallet ready for the bill.

Ok, I want to confess one thing before I begin my review: I went to this restaurant on a low-carb diet, so I could not enjoy some of the sides that looked enticing like the potatoes au gratin, or the hot rolls. If appearances were any indication, they seemed to be the strength of the restaurant. I unfortunately had the sauteed spinach with sea salt, and it was a mess of green leaves on my plate with little taste or flavor. The steaks: Well, if Outback Steakhouse or Sizzler is your standard, then Stoney River will exceed your expectation. But if you've enjoyed truly great steak at an upscale steak house, you'll find these steaks average. I had the coffee molasses marinated filet mignon. It was fine. Not great, but fine. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere is warm, homey and nice for groups. As long as you're not expecting Bern's, Morton's or STK, you'll be just fine.

Unless you have gray hair , are over 45 and appear wealthy , don't expect to get good service . My girlfriend and I sat there and witnessed our waitress cut up with many older couples in suits , then would check on us every half hour to 40 minutes , and didn't even check on our steaks and how they were prepared. The management never asked how our meal was ,(we witnessed them going table to table). VERY disappointed for spending $80, to get this poor of service .

My opinion of this restaurant changed a bit when they raised their prices last year. This chain has a lot of competition in the Franklin area when it comes to great steaks. But when it comes to wanting a decent steak without going broke, Stoney River used to be my go-to. But when my favorite 7oz filet suddenly became nearly $30 instead of the $20 I had been used to paying... it left a bad taste in my mouth. I love the dinner rolls and the food is still good - but for the price - I'd rather go to Red Pony, Cork & Cow or Mack & Kate's. What I usually order: Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, 7oz Cabin Filet & Brocolli

So it's a chain, who cares! I could eat the coffee cured filet everyday of my life. It's the only steak I eat without sauce because it's so tender and bursting with flavor. I recommend sighing up for the Red Canoe society as they frequently send out a $20 off coupon.

Stoney River used to be one of my favorites in Cool Springs, but not any more. The rolls are still amazing, but they have taken off or changed most of my favorites. The prices are too high (prime rib sandwich was $20) for the quality. I got the small filet with au gratin potatoes for $28. The steak had a slab of cold herbed butter on top and the potatoes were not very good. I wanted a salad but didn't want to pay another $10. They have also remodeled and removed all the artwork so the restaurant looked bare. Our service was very good so I'm giving them 3 stars.

Previously was my baseline reference point for a nice restaurant. Most recent visit was disappointing. Ordered ribeye steaks. Wife's was overdone. Taste not nearly as good as in past. Also in past when we got meal we were asked to cut into our serving to see if it was done to our satisfaction. Was not our experience this time.

SRLS was a pretty nice restaurant. We went with a group of 15 and had a great time. The appetizers were fantastic - we got 3 Legendary platters which included 2 tempura lobster tails, 2 crab cakes and 10 jumbo cocktail shrimp. The crab cakes were literally the best I've ever had. The shrim were okay and the lobster tails were pretty good - I liked the combo of the sweet lobster with the salty tempura batter. Dinner for me was a 7oz filet cooked medium and broccoli. The filet was very good - nicely cooked and very tender. The broccoli was not good at all - it wasn't cooked enough and so I was muching on semi-raw broc all night. It also could have used some additional seasoning. For my filet and broccoli it was $27 - a decent enough price I guess. I did not indulge in dessert but a few other people did and said it was great. I had a bite of the key lime pie and I really enjoyed the nutty, crumbly crust and the tart key lime filling.

really love this place for happy hour---sit at the bar, order off the happy hour menu---you cannot go wrong with the selection and quality of food offered. If you are not picky about your cocktails go ahead and enjoy the specials-but they bartenders are quite capable of making it how you like it and want it....they are always friendly and accomodating.....and he little buns they have are awesome----the restuarants rolls not the bartenders buns...but hey i didn't check those out so I cannot say for sure....i will update after going there next time i just wanted to mention to everybody that you really should join the red canoe society--it is free and you always get coupons in your email for huge discounts....love it... I have been many times now and highly recommend the mac-n-cheese......i'm dreaming about it right now.

Large and open but can get busy on the weekends. The food here is good, but be prepared to pay too much. It doesn't take much to push the bill for two to over $200, and that's without going overboard.

I tend to prefer this Stoney River over the one on West End for two reasons. First of all, the location is much bigger and has a more comfortable open feel to it. Secondly, the parking lot is big enough that you don't have the "Free Valet" parking of the other location. While I appreciate that it DOES say it's free, I feel awkward not tipping the valet. It seems as though the Steaks are better as well, but it's entirely possible this is just a subjective feeling because of how much more I enjoy this location. The Staff is always professional and courteous, and they don't scoff if you send your steak back for being undercooked. They do tend to go easy on the cooking there and my girlfriend observed that you might wish to go up a step if you used to a more well cooked steak. I tend to order medium rare, so its hard for me to be disappointed. If you want something Medium, you might want to go Medium Well Done. Overall, if you have a choice between the two, I'd recommend this Stoney River, but either way you are going to be happy.

Everything I wrote before is true. Since then, i did finally bring myself to contact management of our experiences. WOW! They super served us! I was immediately contacted by the management team. They asked us to give them another chance, asked to let him know we were coming and send a nice gift card for the inconvenience. The short is that we have been back multiple times (and several times before we notified management we were going to be there) - I didn't want to be super served just because we of our past experiences. We have had GREAT experiences almost every time. There are a few servers that we have learned to avoid, but overall we really enjoy going there. The food is very good. I would rate 90% of our past 8 visits as "Great to AMAZING"! Special shout to Mike behind the bar. He KNOWS the meaning of customer service!!! Thank you for winning us back. Please thumb up/comment if you liked this review and I would count it a privilege if you chose to follow me as I review places I travel and visit. Thank you for taking the time to read! ~mp

Last night my partner and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary. I had made reservations with Open Table and mentioned it was our anniversary. We got there about 30 minutes early. The hostess not only got us a table within 5 minutes but looked at us and wished us a happy anniversary. We were sat and our server was Doug. Absolutely amazing guy. Best service ever. Food was amazing. If you're wondering what to get the coffee cured filet is definitely the way to go. Doug even brought us dessert on the house for our special occasion. Not only were we checked on by Doug but other servers and mangers during our meal. Upon paying and leaving I spoke to a manager letting him know how fabulous they had made our night. Being a same sex couple in the south and getting such amazing service without skipping a beat. He shook my hand and was so grateful for the positive feedback. If you are wanting a nice atmosphere with delicious food to match this us definitely somewhere to check out!!!!

Had dinner with girlfriends. I chose the Scottish salmon which was cooked to perfection. I was offered different sauces garlic and herbs, teriyaki, etc. I declined and the salmon was great without sauce. The waiter was great very understanding. We had to wait for an additional party to arrive. Overall experience was great. I would recommend to make reservations on Saturday night. It did make seating easier for us. I would definitely go back to Stoney River.

Fish was served, Completely RAW! This location is no different than Atlanta. Overrated, over priced, and under delivers. Had a group of 10. All ordered steak except me and you can see the above. Now, the manager did come back and apologize and remove the entire charge from the bill, thus 1 stars for being very professional. The main issue is when you serve white fish RAW you are asking for issues. Locations like this who's menu is $$$$ in regard to cost should never have this issue. In short, a professional chef should be on staff, thus the atmosphere and cost one is paying, if not, then might as well go to a Ponderosa or Longhorn. The other star came from actually honoring the reservation! We arrived and were seated according to the reservation. In Atlanta? Furgetaboutit! thus the reason I have never returned there.
Canyon Road Zinfandel Wine....I can't express how much I love this wine they served me when I asked for a Zinfandel. This wine added to the stuffed pork chop with garlic mashed potatoes! Lawd I know I'm"m sounding fat right now but that whole meal was DELICIOUS SONNN!! OK let me collect myself and give you some useful reviews wait wasn't long probably cause we called and got lucky with a 7:45 pm opening, I don't recommend going there on a weekend night without reservations or just be prepared to wait 45 Min's to an Hour. Our waiter was very pleasant, and she made sure we had everything we needed. Atmosphere was nice, next time I will just take my fiance and make it more of a night out with just us two. Will defiantly go back REAL SOON LIKE THIS WEEKEND!!!

Great dinner last night of our anniversary. Had the Whiskey shrimp to start an it was fantastic! The meal.... of course I went with the Coffee Covered Filet, medium rare and it was prepared perfectly. The sweet mashed potatoes were off the chart! Terrific, Terrific food!! Why only a 3 star this go around???---the wine! With any really good $300 meal, I expect an amazing wine. I had to send my red cab back (Orin Swift) twice, why---because it was cold. Who serves red wines cold??? The waiter even agreed, the wine has to be served at 60 degrees, but they refrigerate the wine to 50. Net of it is, the wine was chilled, couldn't breathe and tasted horrible. Felt bad for my waiter--but the net of this is, there was nothing he could do. Next time I want to celebrate, I am going to head down to Flemings, Mortons or Ruth Chris' Steakhouse, at least there I can still get the amazing food, with the right wine to accompany the meal. Don't waste your time at this location if wine and steak are typically on your menu together! Sorry Stoney River!

Favorite Restaurant!! The service is always wonderful, the Coffee cured Filet Mignon, sweet potatoes, and French onion soup is out of this world! Not to mention all of the other wonderful items on the menu. If you want a special treat, go to the Cool Springs or West End location's in Nashville. I love them both!

Hubby and I don't get out for nice, romantic dinners very much anymore. We're much more likley to be at the neighborhood Mexican place or a deli than on purpose changing clothes and making a reservation. Saturday night we had an absolutely fabulous dinner at Stoney River, so we think we're going to have to do this more often. The Whisky Shrimp appetizer was fantastic - plump, huge shrimp with an amazing sauce over individual little bread pieces. Just enough. He had the filet, marinated in the coffee/brown sugar marinade - fabulous. I might have stolen a bite or two. Or three. I had the sea bass off the current seafood celebration specialty menu - very nice as well. I ordered the fish because we had ordered a bottle of white wine before dinner, and I know, I know, we're at a steak place. The reason was is I attended a Vintner's Dinner at this location last fall (part of FranklinWineFestival.com by the way - it's my job). What you don't know is I don't drink wine - that's why I'm perfect to manage a large wine tasting with over 350 varieties... I don't care about the leftovers. That dinner featured one wine that I enjoyed, and I knew SR carried it. It's a Steele Pinot Blanc, and it's the first wine I've encountered that I have no issues with. (I am much moreso a cosmo or margarita girl). All of our sides were good - mac & cheese, spinach, green beans, and au gratin potatoes. The rolls there are like doughnuts - OMG. Seriously - OMG. We even opted for dessert, a good cheesecake and an excellent creme brulee. If I had it to do all over again, we'd both order the filet and we'd both order the creme brulee - but seriously, the whole evening was wayyyy good. Even our server was fantastic. Stop in and try my wine. I think you'll be glad you did.

Delicious steaks... boyfriend and I got a prime rib and coffee cured filet. Both were sooo very good! Here's the breakdown... it was well worth the money and is way better than Morton's! 16oz Prime rib (sweet potato) $27 10oz filet (au gratin potato and green beans)$32 Oscar $6 not sure how much the beer was

Took my folks here a few weeks ago for a late Mothers and Fathers day gift.. Mom had the 7oz coffee cured filet which she had had on another trip.. Dad ordered the 10oz Cabin filet which looked awesome.. I had the 14oz New York strip.. All the steaks were cooked perfect and I mean perfect.. One thing they do at Stoney River that I hadn't seen before is that your server asks you to cut into your steak while they are right there.. This would save a bunch of time if the steaks were not cooked right.. All the sides were perfect.. Broccoli was perfect, Potato Au gratin was perfect, baked potato was perfect.. House salad had crispy lettuce and a very cool plate, perfect. The service was awesome also.. I was done with my salad so I put the plate near the edge of the table and the manager happened to walk by seconds later picking my plate on on the way too the kitchen.. They don't seem to leave your food under a heat lamp either.. When the order is up someone, it may not be your server, but who ever is right there brings it out.. Reasonably priced + super friendly & professional staff and management = My place for steak when ever I visit Music City area.. Oh the coffee fillet was delicious. It does not taste like a cup of coffee.. Mom didn't even really need a knife it was so tender.. And it come with a starch and veg.. Great deal.. I just wish I could give it 10 stars.. Oh by the way, my folks said that their experience has been great all 5 times they have been to this joint.. I think its in the Cool Springs mall area..

Except for the wedge salad and Ceasar everything was average and way expensive. It is high end pricing without high end quality.shrimp in shrimp cocktail overcooked. Coffee soaked filet tasteless actually. Add au gratin potatoes which were dry and two drinks and you have $118.00 bill. Service was exceptionally good.

Garlic Mashed potatoes are played out. Caramelized onion mash is where it's at. I typically wont give a chain restaurant (or anyplace for that matter) more than 3 stars unless something really stands out. Positive: +CARAMELIZED ONION MASHED POTATOES +Hot rolls are the shit +Friendly attentive staff In Between +/- Legendary steaks? I think not. Barely a step above Outback Negative -Can definitely get busy like any chain and that's always a pain in the ass.

Without factoring in the high prices, overall the food (i.e. juicy steaks, soups, fish dishes and chocolate cake desserts) was a crowd pleaser. The steaks were done right, albeit on the salty side. Same with the soup. Ambience is nice for dates, corporate events and family time. Attentive staff and managers. But the price is the buzz killer. I've had similar quality of food elsewhere for more affordable price ranges. I might come here for a company sponsored event, but if i had to pay out of pocket --no thanks!
Took my wife for her birthday, can't mention the number. Very disappointed. The place is always so noisy you cannot have a conversation. For $26 my wife had a piece of fish about 3 x 4 inches and a potato the size of a baseball. My ahi tuna salad was lots of salad and 6 pieces of cold Tuna 1 x1 inch. The service was good, but with all of the food choices around, I'm stone cold on stony river.

Ahhh...a date with an eatery! I've been to see you four times now, dear one, but probably won't venture a fifth. Indeed an explanation is in order. You see, the first few times our relationship was new. I was intrigued by your dark woods and sexy lighting. And I really do love a good steak (and, as your name trumpets "steak" so loudly I've not tried any of the other entrees). But, alas, the steaks would be your downfall, darling. My 14oz strips were adequate, but only just so. Although they were always cooked exactly as ordered (and you avoided a single star for this), they were usually on the cold side and there was always something about the way they tasted - I really can't quite put my finger on it - that made me not finish them. Note that I'm a HUGE steak fan and these failed to compare favorably against those of Longhorn and Outback, much less ones I've gotten at Fresh Market and Whole Foods - and even Kroger - and cooked myself. Everything else about you was good, if not very much so: Service? Check! Salads and Bread? Check! (especially the little rolls!) Beverages (including adult)? Check! But, love, your name is about steaks, and here you've failed to capture my heart. Thanks so much for spending the time with me you did, my dear. But the time has come for us to part ways. I wish you luck. Ciao.

The first time that we ate at Stoney River Steakhouse is when we were first visiting Nashville apartment hunting. On that occasion I had the best steak of my entire life. It was the filet cooked medium. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars because on the second occasion visiting Stoney River myself and my entire family had the coffee-cured filet and we were slightly disappointed, the filet was an excellent cut of meat, but entirely too salty. Next time I would certainly go back to the original filet because you just can't beat it. That being said, the service at both the downtown Nashville location and the Franklin location was fantastic, as was the atmosphere. The wedge salad was great and the poppy seed rolls at the beginning are TO DIE FOR and the potatoes au gratin are frankly just over the top awesome. Given my first steak I would say that this is one of the best, if not the best steakhouse I've ever been too. It is pricey though, definitely good for when you want a nice meal out when the parents are visiting or the like.

The overall experience was great. This was my first time at Stoney River. They accept reservations, but have a 30 min timeframe to sit you when you arrive. Staff was very attentive and courteous. I ordered the coffee encrusted filet. It arrived just as ordered to perfection. Desert menu was an excellent balance. Proportions are large. Sides are fantastic (great au gratin potatoes). Will return in the future. I now see why it was voted #1 steakhouse in the Nashville area (above Ruth's Chris and others).

Before you read this - keep in min that I am partial. I like the atmosphere the service and although a limited menu - it has enough selection for me. The wine list is great, the staff from hostess to bartender are very attentive. We never have to wait long for a table or a drink, even if its just club soda , the bar staff are on it. The steaks are always perfect and i really like the atmosphere. if the place seems busy, i head down to the kitchen Bar and eat there - its not a well known option and often gets overlooked - keep it in mind on busy nights.

Steaks to die for! This is our go to date night spot...we are guaranteed fab food and above average service. We usually have fantastic servers, but occasionally a lemon has been thrown in. We usually use the call ahead seating option, but rarely need it. The place usually slows down around 8:30 pm. The manager is always around to check on things and will go to any length to make the meal perfect. Try your filet coffee cured, ask for plenty of extra baskets of the amazing bread, indulge in the Carmelized onion mashed potatoes, finish up with the creme brulee and loosen the top button of your pants! We always leave here full and looking forward to our return trip. We have eaten at many great steakhouses- Morton's, Capital Grill, Schula's, Ruth's Chris, etc. This steak is at the top of the heap!!

As always, food was excellent at Stoney River. This was my 1st visit to the one in Cool Springs. Bartenders and wait staff were attentive, but not crowding. Having experienced the Cowboy Ribeye and Coffee Rubbed Filet on several occasions, I opted to try the Prime Burger with truffle oil fries. The burger came with melted Gruyere and caramelized onions. It was cooked a perfect medium rare, just how I like it! As Jason M. said previously, 'the food is the key'.

I have been on more than a few occasions, but my experience on Monday evening completely sums this restaurant up. The food is good. The filet can be great. The cowboy ribeye is just ok for the $33 price. SR is greatly overpriced. My fiance and I had a tab of $120 w/o tip for 2 steaks, 2 apps, 1 salad, 1 glass of wine. That is bordering on Morton's and RC pricing with the punch of J Alexander's on a bad day. Either go to J's and get a better meal for $85 or spend the $120 and go true upscale.

I don't understand what all the hype is about. This place is overrated and definitely over priced. I guess if you are trying to make an impression on someone and drop some serious cash, this would be the place to go. However, the quality of the food and service is overrated!!! Also, not a great place for kids. If you are looking for quality, try Flemings or Ruth Chris... Have been here a few times and just can't feel the enchantment that some of my friends do.....To each his own, and to each his own dollars.....Save your money and savor the flavor somewhere else!

So, sure, it is a "chain". Should you let that stop you? No. What you should know is that I am not a big fan of red meat but on the occassion I do crave it. Last night was our anniversary and I wanted to take hubs somewhere nicer than we normally go. Sure it's almost a car payment to eat there but I think it is worth it. Friday Night, 5:45pm, we didn't wait for a table at all. We were seated almost instantly and greeted by sweet girls working up front. When we were seated we were given our waitress name and told she would be right with us. This was the only hiccup. She wasn't right with us. It took about 4 minutes before someone came by and he took out drink order. She (our waitress) was the one to bring them out which somewhat made up for it. Other then that hiccup she was GREAT. So basically no problems. We both scoped the menu out before going so we knew what we wanted. I think that made it pretty easy for her. But she did offer to go over the specials because hubs had never been there before. We ordered a standard started. Spinich and Artichoke dip. Which was good. My dislike of seafood and his hatred of cheese caused us to not be able to do anything else. We both ordered salads, wedge for me, ceasar for him. We both loved ours. The only negative there was that my plate was so cold it kind maked things stick to the plate which was weird but I think thats my OCD over anything else. We both ordered the same steak thanks to something we saw on the Food Network. We had the 10 oz Coffee cured Filets. YUM. While I can say that it was nothing like what I was expecting it to taste like, it was amazing. It was cooked perfectly the way I like and his raw hunk he likes was good for him as well. I've come to the conclussion that if both of us are happy, then it's great. Dinner was capped off with Cappucino Creme Brulee. Now normally here I would think back to Ruth's Chris for their HEAVENLY creme brulee and compare all to it. I know that isn't fair but here's what. It was great. Different but great. The only negative is the berries that came with it. It was only 1 strawberry and then blueberries. The blueberries were awesome though. Super sweet and perfect but I like raspberries and blackberries too? But for only $5 each they were a good deal and yummy. All in all I can tell you this is our new once a month special dinner place now that he is hooked after his first time! Worth it. But plan on dropping a decent amount of money to leave so happy. I'll be back!

I eat at Stoney regularly and suggest making a reservation and joining their Red Canoe Society to receive coupons via email to make the bill a bit more palatable. Prices are high but fair for the quality of the food. Only problems I've ever had were cool mac & cheese and a slighly skimpy pour on a glass of wine and both were remedied quickly and professionally.

Coffee Filet is delicious. Fiance proposed there a year ago, so has special place in my heart. Steaks are great, little bread thingies are yummy(We generally go through 2 baskets with just two of us), and desserts are to die for!

So we drove up to this restaurant thinking it would be great! We though we would be getting some amazing steakhouse environment treatment and flavors! The outside of this place did not make me think I was going into a 5 star. But I was eager to let the outside architecture slide away and let the food inside make up for it. We walked in, and found that the interior was quite cozy and warm feeling : ). There was no more than 12 people in the restaurant at the time of dinning. We were greeted by the waiter, asked what we would like drink. I just got water with a lemon slice. We ordered our food... My cousin and I both ordered the 10oz Prime Burger, cooked rare. Topped with your choice of Vermont white cheddar and peppered bacon or Gruyère cheese and caramelized sweet onions 11.99... We chose the Gruyère cheese and caramelized sweet onions Burger with the side of Truffle Oil Parmesan Fries... With 12 people in the establishment how long could it take to cook a rare burger?... We waited for quite some time. I really don't mind waiting for my food... really. Just saying. Then as we were waiting for the food, the waiter brings us some awkward timing poppy seed rolls with some kind of honey/brown sugar butter... I'm not sure if this was a normal thing to receive these donut whole type of things after waiting for the food for quite some time... At this time.. I open my napkin to use my knife to spread the butter and.............. there was dried food spread all over the black napkin... It was quite nasty... I reached behind me to the empty table and replaced the napkin/silverware. When this happened I set the dirty napkin/silverware on the edge of the table anticipating the return of the waiter.... When he returned, to his surprise he found a crappy, nasty napkin that should had been clean, he implied that they have been having this problem lately and will take it to the manager... He responded very well lol! (honestly I really did not care about the indecent all that much, although it was pretty nasty to open my napkin and find some nasty dried food from some other person)... The food was not that good when it finally arrived. When I order a burger rare, I am expecting a rare meat burger with a nice bun and the other good stuff that comes on it... I received a very strategically placed burger with "designer" looking, placed truffle fries... I would rather them just plop my burger on the plate and bring it to me before the bun gets soggy. My burger was soggy from juice, and blood. It was really nasty. The truffle fries tasted like acrylic... yes.... acrylic... Thats not what I want to see when I go to a "fancy CHAIN restaurant"... It was a chain.... Plain and simple. Great looking interior for what it was.. but it was a chain... More reason for me to dislike chains... After the meal... The severer told us that he would bring us the desert menu so we could choose anything we wanted off the desert menu (free of charge) TO SHARE. Because of the napkin indecent... We ordered... of COURSE the most expensive item they had on the menu. THE Triple-Layer Chocolate Ganache Cake with Chocolate ganache filling made of semi-sweet chocolate melted with heavy cream, served with chilled shot glasses of milk $10.99... It was rich, and heavy, and I'm not the biggest chocolate cake fan anyway... we got the check and were out of there : ). Overall the place was not that good. I will not be returning.

If you charge over $50 per person for a steak do NOT serve old coffee and bring the check while the guest is still eating the steak! The steak was average but the crab chunks were stale.

Matt Campbell and team did another fine job last night with our group. We frequent Stoney River and last night took a group of 10. Servers were quite attentive and a few small glitches were fixed instantly. Food is always top quality. My wife enjoyed the grouper while my children had trout and salmon. All terrific according to their reports. I personally don't go to a steakhouse to eat seafood!--so I had the coffee cured filet. It was top notch. It always is. I respect previous posters who comment on the elevated prices. Truth is, they really aren't. For the Cool Springs location and the level of service and quality of food, prices are just about as expected. And well worth it.

I've been to a bunch of different steak houses (from Logan's to Ruth's Chris) and I think Stoney River is one of the best. It has a much better steak than Outback (yes, it costs more) and a better steak than Ruth's Chris (for MUCH less). The ribeye with crab meat has always been good and the service has always been good. I have had a better steak at Palm and Morton's, but they were FAR more expensive. If you are looking for a nicer night out for steak, go here. (my wife LOVED the horseradish encrusted grouper).

What can I say...the steaks are awesome...especially the coffee rubbed fillet...the prices could come down a little though, but still one of the best steaks out there. I would go here any day over Conors, Bones, Ruth Chris, etc.

Pricey? Of course. This is basically an upscale Outback, but I like it. And what I really love are the coupons they send to your email box, so I can eat here almost as cheaply as I can at Outback. Win-win for me! The steaks are killer, and I would imagine the rest of the food is just as good (I've been once so far). Service was prompt, attentive, and surprisingly, there wasn't much of a wait for us on a Saturday night. I can't wait to go back!

I love this place, too bad I only go about 4 times a year. Its more of treat for me. Quality food & service and would expect nothing less based on the price.

Stoney River is my "go to" place when I want a great steak dinner. In my opinion, they have the whole package: phenomenal food, consistently great service, and a very comfortable atmosphere. Yes, it can be pricey, but it's definitely worth it and I still end up with a lower tab than you'd have at some of the other higher end steakhouses. (Money saving hints: Sign up for their e-mail club and they'll periodically e-mail you coupons like $20 off if you buy two entrees. They also sometimes have a survey option on your receipt and you can do that survey to get a $20 off coupon mailed to you). I also love that you don't have to overdress here. I've seen plenty of people in what I would call business casual dress or nice jeans and a dress shirt. In my opinion, the ideal meal at Stoney River has to start with the Tomato and Mozzarella salad. This is a great twist on the whole caprese salad idea with huge tomato slices, fresh mozzarella, crumbled bacon and onion straws. It's all drizzled with the most delicious balsamic reduction I've ever had. My husband and I often split this instead of ordering individual salads. For the main entree, my favorite is the 7 oz cabin filet. They have a special seasoning blend that they use, and you can ask for your steak to be more heavily or more lightly seasoned. The filet is so tender, and I've never even been tempted to ask for steak sauce. Each steak comes with your choice of potato, and you can't go wrong with the garlic mashed or the carmelized onion mashed potatoes. We typically each order one and then share. They have lots of other great sides as well. I highly recommend the sauteed mushrooms. A bowl is definitely big enough to share, and they're a perfect fit with the steak. If you have room for dessert, there are some great options. The chocolate cake is HUGE and is big enough for a whole table to share. Plus, they serve it with ice cold milk shooters which is a great touch. My favorite dessert now, though, is the blondie. It's served warm and is filled with chocolate chips and nuts, topped with Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Absolutely sinful (and still big enough for two to share - though you won't want to). Both the West End and Cool Springs locations are great, but parking is easier at Cool Springs with the private lot.

First of all, I have to say, the caramelized onion mashed potatoes are amazingly delicious.... And the only reason I would go back. The steaks were too salty and the service was absolutely terrible. Especially for the price. There are much nicer steakhouses for a comparable price. It's basically a nicer chain, and from the reviews I've read, seems to have had the same consistent problems that I experienced. Unless you like waiting 2 and a half hours to eat, and 25 minutes for a glass of wine, choose another restaurant.

They prepared me and my sister a custom vegan dish since nothing on the menu was suitable. It was spicey and orangey and unexpectedly GOOD.

Great spot for a romantic dinner. I've always been a big fan of Stoney River, whether I'm dining in the bar, with my family, or just alone with my GF, I've never had anything but a positive experience. Got some favorites like the prime rib, coffee cured filet, and the cowboy cut ribeye. They are all outstanding. OK, I admit it.... I'm a prime rib junkie, and SR has as good as I've ever had. I've had all the sides at one time or another, enjoyed them all. I always start with the Ahi tuna, and a Wedge, the perfect complement to any meal. Oh yeah, the creme brulee...OMG! A 5 star experience, until you get the check. LOL Highly recommended.

I dined here with a large group for a friends birthday. The staff did an amazing job accommodating us all. Our server made some great wine recommendations, she was very informed and did a wonderful job describing the wines. I ordered the Coffee Curd Filet per a friends reccomendation. It was so tender and flavorful, I'll definitely order it again. When my food arrived, the steak was cooked a lot more well done than I had ordered. I informed my server and she was quick to fix the mistake. Two managers came by to make sure everything was okay with me. I was pleased to be treated so wonderfully. I'll be coming here again and bringing my boyfriend!

We took a client out for dinner here, after reading the reviews. The entire experience was excellent. From the outside, it doesn't look like a fancy place but the inside is pretty comfortable. Note that they don't have outside seating. All the appetizers and the main courses were exceptional. Everything we ordered was excellent. The service was amazing as well. The only complaint, the margarita....it was horrible. May be I shouldn't have ordered a margarita at a steakhouse??!!

Not impressed at ALL with brunch at Stoney. Nowhere near the quality of their dinner menu. My eggs benedict were the worst I have had from any of the other high end brunch spots around town. The muffin was twice as big as the bacon and twice as thick as it needed to be. The Canadian bacon had a weird sweet taste. The hollendaise sauce was missing something. Had little flavor. $8 bloody Mary's were tiny, as in about 4 sips. My wife got upcharged $6 for substituting a tiny kale side salad instead of potatoes. We won't be back for brunch. Go to Sapphire or 55 South instead for Sunday brunch.

i had the steak salad the other day, so good! just the right amount of blue cheese per lettuce ratio and the petite steaks were cooked to perfection! Yum yum.

Oh, how I really wanted to love this place. Based on the recommendation from a business associate, I stopped in for dinner on 3/17. When I travel for business, I do like to indulge with a nice steak every once in a while. My driver recommended Cork & Cow, but how can I not take the advise of a business associate? Arrived around 6, and Stoney River has a feel of an upscale Outback. Bar in the center of the dining room, with the kitchen exposed. Glancing at the menu, I did notice that the menu stated Choice or better for the steaks and that caused a bit of a concern. I ordered the wedge salad, the spinach dip, the Bone In Cowboy cut rib-eye, medium-rare, Oscar style, and Au Gratin potatoes. The spinach dip was great, but when I think of flatbread, it's not crackers, which came with the dip. The Wedge Salad was fine, and had plenty of blue cheese dressing. Now for the steak. The steak was dropped off, and usually I am asked to cut into the steak to see how it was cooked. Not a big deal, but once I cut into the steak, I could see why I was probably not asked to do so. The steak was cooked medium-rare, but very fatty. Yes, I know a rib eye is fatty, but I like my rib eye well marbled, not fatty. Yes, their is a difference. The flavor was decent, and I should not have ordered it Oscar style, as the additional enhancement, was not that great. The Au Gratin potatoes were very average, and way to salty for my palate. The great was the cheesecake, and loved the black cherry sauce. My business associate ordered the coffee cured filet, and he loved it. Overall, the service was good, but the steak and side underperformed Next time that I am in the area, I will try Cork & Cow. Stay hungry my friends...

Brunch is one of my favorite things. Stoney does brunch well! They have phenomenal steak and eggs. They serve it with a hand cut ribeye char grilled, topped with two poached eggs and freshly made hollandaise! Delight! And you can get a carafe of mimosas!

Really good food, very pricey. Great service. If you're looking for a special occasion dinner spot this would be it. Appetizers, main course and dessert are spot on. Drinks are a little strong. Will be back.

My original review was removed by Yelp No good reason. But here is another review of the same situation. Stoney River management regularly has employees siting at the bar having very expensive wines and a lot of very expensive food entrees. While at the same time telling the bar staff is not pouring the wines properly. They use rulers to measure when the right amount of wine is poured. Yet SR has a 100% margin for each wine pour but they want the bartenders to short the customer. Why don't the customer realize that they are being taken, No, they have lot's of money so they don't care. ST someday will be caught shorting the customer. Yelp, I am sure will review this review.. I am adding this comment.. SR managers do not do anything to recognize the customers. If you have a problem with SR the managers do nothing to help. I go to SR two or three times per week, spending about $25 -40 per visiti. yet the managers never come to see if I have been properly served. The manages go out of their way to avoid a regular customer What do I have to do to get some recognition? The managers are terrible. But the staff is great. . .

I forgot to write a review about this AWESOME place... I was treated to an amazing dinner for my birthday by my mother who came into town to surprise me. I have lived here for 3 years and never thought to eat here. Heard amazing reviews about this place and they weren't wrong! The hostess/waiters/waitresses are so friendly and are very very attentive! Steaks/Prime Rib: What can I say!!! This is a steakhouse and the steaks are AMAZING!!! There were 3 of us eating so we all had something different due to what we enjoy eating! We all share a piece of what we had we all couldn't believe how good it was... The ribeye was cooked medium rare and it was perfect, melt in your mouth tender. The coffee cured filet was so soft it was like trying to eat butter which is impossible! Now my prime rib was a show stopper!! Not all the excessive fat which some people love when it's cooked right, but this was a nice hunk of meat... Boy oh boy I couldn't finish it!!! I don't need to mention the rolls with the cinnamon butter is like candy so stay far away if you don't wanna get addicted to these lol... Not to mention you'll fill up and not be able to eat your meal, which is what I did wrong but the doggy bag home came in handy for the late night sleepwalking I tend to do lol... The salads are delicious but it tends to get in the way of your meal lol... SERVICE: This is the reason I wanted to truly post about this place! I have been to some great fine dining restaurants and service was POOR yet the food was great, but due to service I would never go back! This place is totally opposite, the service is what makes the entire meal and experience something to write about... My waiter was a young gentlemen I'm sorry I can't remember his nMe because he deserves recognition, he was more then attentive and not invasive! Always spotted our table from across the room, no lie not once did either of our drinks get below half glass! (Maybe) that's why I couldn't eat all my food lol... The staff were friendly greeting you at the door, calling us by our last name even the GM happened to be in and came to check on our table and thank us for choosing their establishment.. That makes a memorable experience for myself and makes me want to come back for all my important events or just a special dinner... I know that people had some bad experiences here and have quite a bit to say and that is your personal experience and your entitled to it. However, if your gonna complain about prices then maybe you forgot it is a STEAKHOUSE! I mean it costs you half the price just eating fast food now days! If you want an amazing experience and amazing food there is a price and it isn't OUTRAGEOUS!!! Sum up my whole story lol this is and always will be my birthday tradition for years to come! Thank You!!!

I contend when attending a "nicer" steak joint, the food should always be very good. It's a steak...I'm paying a lot for it, make it great and throw in some good sides and apps. The food was A+, but here's the deal...it's the service that earns the 5 stars. We came in later in the evening, @830. Although there were tables available, we requested one near the fireplace, where the customers had just left. Stoney quickly bussed the tables and got us our table. Our server, Wesley, expertly narrowed down the perfect bottle of Pino Noir, based on our parameters and his explanation about why NOT to get the Prime Rib at that time of night was not only professional, it was thoughtful and greatly appreciated. I ate at The Palm recently and the service/personal attention is where they fell short. I'm looking forward to Stoney River again soon.

Great restaurant! Went on a business trip with co workers. ONE of my colleagues was a bit hesitant stating it looks like a Shoney's, but it was nothing like ONE at all. The ambiance was amazing. It would make for a very romantic outing. Kind of rustic, yet very warm and inviting. The food was amazing! I ordered the filet and crispy lobster tail. And was pleasantly surprised. I did order it medium rate and it was more medium, but it was still delicious. The lobster was deep fried and so juicy and great size. My colleagues also raved about their filet preparation. The a la carte sides were very good as well. The creamy spinach I had was quite possibly the best I've EVER had. The asparagus and caprese salad were definitely top choices as well. Wonderful establishment. The server was nice and helpful, the bathrooms were clean and price was not outrageous. DEFINITELY on the list of places to eat again whenever I'm in the area.

My husband and I stopped here for brunch on our way home from Nashville. I had the steak biscuits and he got the monte cristo. Delicious! The biscuits were so yummy. They also let me add the loaded toppings from the baked potato onto my fries with no problem. The fries were awesome! My favorite part of the restaurant was the sink in the bathroom. My husband and I both talked about how cool it was as we were leaving. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice Sunday brunch!

What kind of establishment sells rotten fish? It is absolutely unacceptable to sell rotten food! Our food poisoning was so severe that we missed our flight and had to extend our hotel stay. Total cost of this dinner is nearing $2K now.

Baseline: the five big shiny stars from me reflect excellent quality, execution, and service. Also shades of guilt. When I first arrived to live in Franklin in the Fall of 2011, my lip curled at Stoney River. Why? I frankly don't remember but my recollection of my impression was big loud brash steak place. Yeah, yeah, whatever. More steak and potatoes. We went one cold night and it wasn't memorable and I'm now wracked with guilt and wondering where my head was. Or worse, where was my palate? My senses? Did something happen at SR that makes my experiences lately completely different? I'd love to know if something has changed at SR in the last 3 years. On a lark, we decided to go to SR recently. My boyz are right snobs when it comes to their meat b/c the biggest of them learned from J. Kenji Lopez-Alt of the blog Food Lab (Serious Eats) how to make the best steak you've ever tasted and it involves the oven. Yep. The lowly, oft-disdained oven (if you're grilling, that's the cool side of your grill). Here is the link. You'll thank me. seriouseats.com/2012/05/… Back to SR. If you read the link above, you can see what SR was up against. Not one snob but all 4 of us, bristling with snobbishly low expectations but too lazy too cook and ready to heap disdain on this steak house. We ordered bacon-wrapped filet, the Gruyere steak burger, the coffee rubbed steak. All steaks rare, mid-rare, and burger mid-rare. Blown away. The steaks were extremely high quality. The filet was exceptionally flavorful. My number one would ordinarily never order filet b/c it's the least well-marbled cut and as a result not so delicious. This one was exceptional. The steaks were very tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. Just delicious. I could be wrong but we were convinced these steaks had never been frozen. There is obviously a high level of attention here to picking the best quality meats. I had the avocado salad. Spectacularly fresh ingredients. Freshly cooked and crumbled bacon. Maybe a smidge too much. Wait, I am a southern girl, so I think I must've picked up the thought of "too much bacon" from some foreign place. Given that experience, we HAD to go back and test it. SR in Franklin just started serving brunch less than a couple of months ago. So, our next trip was on a Sunday. We tried the brunch. Ripping spectacular. We ordered a monte cristo b/c we had to have it. Better than any I have had in France. It came with a mound of finely sliced ham and I braced myself for saltiness, which I don't like at all. Nowhere to be found. The ham was flavorful. The bread had been soaked in egg and crisply fried. If you get one thing at brunch, get the monte cristo. We also had steak and eggs--perfectly done soft poached eggs on rare steak and delicious chunky potato spears. Crisp and seasoned on the outside and creamy inside. My last mention is the biscuits at brunch. I feel like I know a good biscuit when I meet him. This boy was small, buttery, flaky, and oh so light. Served with whipped butter, peach bourbon and blackberry jams. I almost fought my number two son for the last biscuit and caught myself. *Gawd Woman. That's your issue and you tried to snatch food out of his mouth!* He's bigger than me, so, I tried to use love to get that last biscuit. My boy is no fool. He looked me in the eye. Love beamed at me. Then he popped that last biscuit in his mouth. So, now, I only take one son when I go to SR. The little one that I can over power.

Let me start by saying this is an edit of a previously 5 star review that was posted after frequenting this establishment since moving here... BE WARNED. The long list of excellent reviews mostly come from people who visited before these changes were made. Stoney River is being managed by J. Alexanders now, and they're making many unwelcome changes. Several dishes have been changed for the worse, or removed entirely from the menu. "Parmesan Fries" were thick cut steak fries brushed with truffle oil and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Now you get J. Alexanders style "Shoestring fries" which are very plain. The price remains unchanged. Why a steakhouse would change their fries from steak fries to shoestring fries is beyond me. The service is not as good as it used to be. There was a time when the server or food runner would bring steaks to table, and wait for the first cut so that the diner can confirm that the food was cooked as it was ordered. Never once did I ever have an issue with my steak being under or overcooked. They no longer do this. And it is no surprise that steaks are often undercooked now. They have remodeled. The soft, ambient, romantic, snug, welcoming environment is now gone for a more contemporary feel, much like J. Alexanders. If we wanted to dine at J. Alexanders we would have gone there... they are just across the street.

Well, after coming here for the past 12 years, and we haven't been here for about a year, all I can say is "What the heck?" After reading a review about J. Alexander's taking over Stoney, it now makes a LOT of sense. I used to LOVE the tempura lobster, and now I won't order it again because it "had a little kick" to it - I am sensitive to spices. My husband would look forward to the coffee cured filet, and it was OK, but not the way it used to be and he won't have it again now. The poppyseed rolls haven't changed, thank God, but I won't go from Murfreesboro to Franklin for just those. On the bright side: our waiter was terrific and did take my tempura lobster off the VERY expensive bill to make it only cost our first born son instead. I guess J. Alexander's did it again -- thanks for screwing up something that didn't need fixing!

Wife and I both got the strip. Very very good steak. Great seasoning. The au gratin potatoes were a little rich but a great addition. Ask them to add grilled onions to your steak. excellent. If you are looking for a good steak try Stoney River.

I've dined here with my family several times, and have tried many items on the menu. As you should expect, all of their menu items are delicious! What keeps me coming back, however, is the service. Stoney River hires good people and trains their employees very well. I can almost guarantee you an excellent meal, and especially a superb experience. Enjoy!

Truly excellent! Thank you to Matt the manager for warmly welcoming us on our 10th Anniversary. We both had the coffee filet and it was cooked to perfect med rare. The whiskey shrimp appetizer was one of the best I've ever had. Top notch service and consistent good eats. It was our first visit and we will be back soon!

My opinion of Stoney River has changed over the last two years. I realize that the financial condition of the country has changed, and everyone is going to hefty price increases to survive, but this resturant has taken price increases to a new level. Years ago Stoney River was a go to for a special event. The food was consistent though pricy, but you were well treated and received a decent portion. It maintained the ambiance of a local steakhouse who cared about their customers. However, as time has passed the prices have continued to go up and the portion size down. This was offset from time to time with a 20.00 coupon, which helped draw you back for the customer service and local feel. The coupons have disappeared and now that there has been another corporate buy out, the customer care and local feel is totally gone. Where once you could ask for a little tweek to your meal, you now are narrowed to a rote menu and have to all but argue to make any change to your selection. The flow of our meal on this occasion made us feel as though we were in a cafeteria as opposed to a fine Resturant. The meal followed our appetizer in minutes and our requested sauce for the appetizer followed after the main meal. The drinks ordered from the bar were late as well. The staff manages to push another round of drinks every five minutes without attending to the other requests of the table. All in all the attention quality and ambiance of this resturant has changed and no longer warrents it's price point. Try a local place instead!!!!

I have to start this review out by saying i was not a fan of the steaks. My wife had the filet and i had a ribeye. My ribeye wasnt marbled at all and rather tough. Her filet was pretty tender as it should be. Everything else here was exemplary. The wait staff never missed a chance to top off our wine. We had lobster bisque which was one of the best I've ever had, key lime pie was amazing and the espresso was creamy and smooth. I will definitely go back but probably try a different entree next time.

This is easily the best steak I have ever had. I have steaks on $100 plates that could not touch their Filet Mignon. Incredible flavor and super tender. Loved it.

We had the pleasure of experiencing Stoney River Legendary Steaks in Franklin, TN this past week and let me tell you that they lived up to their name! We started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake for an appetizer. When it first arrived, it looked super thick and I thought that it might not be done or might be cold in the center, but no, it was warm throughout. Exceptional taste! I had the coffee-cured filet mignon and it was excellent. It equals the quality and taste of Morton's filet (and might surpass it!). It did not taste like coffee at all, but the brown sugar and molasses gave the steak a wonderful caramelization. The steak was cooked perfectly! The sides were garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mashed potatoes were good. The broccoli had a taste similar to lickerish. Overall the meal was very good (not excellent due to the broccoli). If improvements could be made, it would be to add a rotating soup special instead of just having the same two soups all the time. Perhaps a baked potato or chicken tortilla soup? Add more side options as there were too many "potato" sides and not enough vegetable sides. How about some creamed corn? I would visit again. In fact, if there was a Morton's next door, I would choose Stoney River!

Great steaks, and killer happy hour. I prefer to go here than most "higher end" steak houses in Nashville such as Ruth Chris or Flemmings. Plus the dinner rolls are to die for, basically do night holes without the sweetness and more flavor. Everyone raves about them! Make sure to swing by, but be aware of a possible wait as they can get quite busy during certain times.

We (the Family) took my grandmother here and had her a 80th birthday surprise dinner in one of the side rooms. The food was good and the things that we had planned for her turned out really well. Although the food was good, the prices were ridiculous. I can't even begin to tell you my ticket for 3... I haven't been back yet but someone else will have to pay.

This remains on my top five franklin restaurants list (Saffire, Red Pony, Stoney River, Bonefish Grill, J. Alexander, with an honorable mention to Cork & Cow). We sit at a table when we're with friends, but most often just enjoy sitting at the bar. The bartenders are all great, and there is often great socializing at the bar. The happy hour menu at the bar is also now every day, so that's a plus (used to only be on Sunday). Love the caprese salad.

I really always have fantastic service here. This is a great place for a business meeting or a date night. I love the fireplaces. Their desserts are very good. I would love to see more vegetarian options on the menu.

(3)Noelle T.
So it's a chain, who cares! I could eat the coffee cured filet everyday of my life. It's the only steak I eat without sauce because it's so tender and bursting with flavor. I recommend sighing up for the Red Canoe society as they frequently send out a $20 off coupon.
(4)Pam H.

Great Food, Drinks, Wine, Atmosphere, and Service! Get a Big Steakhouse experience for a much smaller price! This restaurant provides an all around great experience!

Well everyone knows Friday night it was snowing a little here in Nashville. The wife and I decided to go out try to find a place to grab a quick bite and ended up back at Stony River since it was so good from the last experience. I thought most restaurants would be slow due to the weather, however, this plays was jamming. Experienced this time sitting at a table with my wife and it was just as good as my past experience sitting at the bar. My salmon was cooked to perfection, and my wife's chicken just fell right off the bone. So overlooking to spend just a little bit more and like a great food and experience this may be your place. Far upgrade over Outback, Longhorn or Logins Check before tip, 2 entrées, appetizer, desert and a couple glasses of wine $77.90.

(5)Erin W.
(3)Sandra B.
(5)Sarah B.

16oz Prime rib (sweet potato) $27 10oz filet (au gratin potato and green beans)$32 Oscar $6 not sure how much the beer was
(5)Kent B.
(5)Jermaine S.
decent steak...no flavor on the inside but plenty of flavor on the inside.
(2)Patsy B.
(3)Faith J.
Omg the Steak here is to die for!! Love this place!!
(5)Scott M.
I made an online reservation and in the comments box I asked for a Pony with a Rainbow. When I showed up, they gave a hand drawn picture....Pony with Rainbow. Niice job !! Oh...and excellent food and service.
(5)Michael L.
(4)John W.
I have always enjoyed Stoney River. Too bad they removed the great happy hour deals on Friday and Sat.
(4)Bob M.
If u eat at table the staff is surly. We took a leap and came back a second try at the bar the next night. Really was not much better. I'd suggest go elsewhere for the money.
(1)Cher Y.

As this was my first time going to Stoney River, I tried to anticipate very little. Many accolades and praises had been sung by bystander and friend alike. But after reviewing their menu and prices, I simply opted out due to the impending financial setback. What a mistake! My fiancé took me for dinner last night, and it was decidedly the best meal I've had in some time. I ordered the 10 oz. Lodge Filet and a loaded baked potato. Simple enough, right? The steak, ordered medium rare and without adornment, was like silk. The blade of my knife was disappointed in how little it had to work. The meat - a fantastic cut -was tender, moist, and dense; perfectly cooked and seasoned only enough to compliment its natural flavor. I normally go for 6 oz. as I can rarely consume more than that. I cleared all but two bites of that steak, of which my fiancé delightedly finished the task. And what can be said about the potato? Its just a potato right? Nope. It was the perfect size and texture, with just the right amount of "extras" to accompany. The bacon was real, which is always a plus. The sour cream, cheese and butter did not leave the taste buds in wont, nor did it run over the sides in a greasy, inedible glob. My fiancé ordered a side of sautéed mushroom buttons, and they are a wonderful pairing with the steak. As we are extreme mushroom fans, I asked the server for an insider tip. I was surprised to learn that they were not marinated with Brandy or some other form of liquor, but plain old beef base and herbs. Delish! I was told the bread was to die for. But frankly, I found it too sweet for a palate teaser. As a dessert, it would be phenomenal: Puffy balls of savory poppy seed pastry that was akin in consistency to doughnuts, paired with a lightly sweetened cinnamon butter. Again, great as an afterthought with a cup of coffee. But not my preference as we waited for the steak. The ambience of the restaurant is dim, warm, and inviting. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the store manager made a point to stop by our table. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience and we highly intend on returning! OH! And I was thrilled to learn that if you register online for their Red Canoe Society, you receive the occasional coupon. I registered, and received a coupon for $25 off 2 meals. For a high caliber restaurant to offer such a deal is tre chic in my opinion! Highly deserving of FOUR STARS!
(4)Mark W.

(4)J. H.
(4)Ted A.
(4)Felixthecat C.
(5)Trace S.
(5)Lashona M.
It's delicious!!!! I'm a sucker for the "Whiskey Shrimp and Lobster Bisque"! It can be expensive but I also go during happy hour so save a few bucks!
(5)Jeremy E.
(2)LG N.
(2)Lulu J.
(5)Pete N.
(4)Suzy W.
Coffee Filet is delicious. Fiance proposed there a year ago, so has special place in my heart. Steaks are great, little bread thingies are yummy(We generally go through 2 baskets with just two of us), and desserts are to die for!
(5)jason m.
Always great steak. Good ambience and service, but the food is the key. A crowd-pleaser.
(4)Brandon L.
(2)David M.
If you charge over $50 per person for a steak do NOT serve old coffee and bring the check while the guest is still eating the steak! The steak was average but the crab chunks were stale.
(2)Mark P.
(4)Lawrence H.
(4)Bryan H.
What can I say...the steaks are awesome...especially the coffee rubbed fillet...the prices could come down a little though, but still one of the best steaks out there. I would go here any day over Conors, Bones, Ruth Chris, etc.
(5)J C.
Pricey?

Yum yum.
(5)Mojo L.
So far this is the best steak house I've had in Nashville area. Definitely I'm going back for more. I would recommend this place for all steak or meat lover.

(5)Andi B.

This is my favorite place to have steak in the Cool Springs area. I love the atmosphere. It's a great place for a date or girls night out. They have a great wine list. The steak rolls are to die for!!!!!!
(5)Charlie P.

Service, store design/cleanliness and my PRIME RIB was as good as my Stoney River in Long Grove, IL. Stop this talk of J. Alexanders!

(4)John H.
I've dined here with my family several times, and have tried many items on the menu. As you should expect, all of their menu items are delicious! What keeps me coming back, however, is the service. Stoney River hires good people and trains their employees very well. I can almost guarantee you an excellent meal, and especially a superb experience. Enjoy!
(5)David S.
(5)Linda D.

(4)Terry W.
This is easily the best steak I have ever had. I have steaks on $100 plates that could not touch their Filet Mignon. Incredible flavor and super tender. Loved it.
(5)Dino V.
This place is absolutely delicious! The French Onion soup is absolutely amazing and have not tried one steak that hasn't made me want to come back for more! The service is always top notch and they make a really great dirty martini! I'll find any excuse to go back!
(5)Jim D.
Great restaurant. The manager and staff was genuinely concerned with wait times and very accommodating. The food was excellent. 5 star rating.
(5)Jerome K.
Plenty of seating in a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere. The bar serves food, wine and craft beers. This place earned its reputation so come early or make a reservation.
(4)Iman N.
Excellent excellent excellent coffee rubbed filet mignon. The potatoes are pretty good also as others have mentioned. The service was nice too. Will go back for sure.

(4)Madison W.
(4)LaToya D.
(4)Steven L.
(5)Sejal M.
I really always have fantastic service here. This is a great place for a business meeting or a date night. I love the fireplaces. Their desserts are very good. I would love to see more vegetarian options on the menu.
