Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The only Mexican dish acceptable to me is fajitas. This place is decent as of taste. They have discount on different days. I only wish their discounted margarita served on the days when my wife can drive. It's more of a "why not" place when you are running out of dinner ideas.

One of my favorite mexican restaurants to eat at in Franklin and Spring Hill. I would have to give an edge to the Franklin location however due to one simple fact: The salsa. For some reason, the salsa tastes better with more heat and spice compared to the Spring Hill location. Not to mention this gem is hidden away by a defunct K-Mart which has less public traffic both driving and dining. Service and food remain top notch however there's not much difference between Panchos and the next chain mexican restaurant down the road which is why it's only four stars. Pros: Service Food Consistency Salsa Cons: Basic

Service was pretty disappointing. Our server was very busy so it didn't bother me too much. The problem came at the end of our meal when I realized we were overcharged for our meal. When I showed the ladies at the register what the price on the menu says she just kept repeating the price on the ticket. Be aware that they will try to overcharge you and hope you don't notice. I wanted to like this place but I don't want to give my money to a place that is this sneaky.

I've eaten here for 15 years and it never disappoints. Whenever I go to a Mexican place closer to Nolensville I always wish I had just made the trip to Franklin. We ask for the salsa verde when we sit down it is always very refreshing. When my wife is pregnant she craves the fajitas. And we takes advantage of $.99 tacos on Monday and $.99 enchiladas on Tuesday as much as possible.
(5)Amy H.
Went for lunch and for two of us to eat it was under $20 and the food was Ahhhmazing!!!! I had fajitas and my bf had the chimichanga and we both loved it! Waitress was great and service was lightening fast! Definitely recommend!!

As my search for good Mexican food in the Cool Springs/Franklin area continues, I find myself here at Pancho's Place. As soon as I walk in the door I am greeted by a wall. Why the wall Pancho's? It's a little confusing and unwelcoming. I'm quickly say by the hostess and arced my favorite thing in the world - chips and salsa. The chips were warm which I always appreciate, the salsa however was not very good. More like tomato sauce than salsa. I order the lunch enchilada with queso and its was a little underwhelming. The tortilla tasted funny and there were carrots in my rice which I find to be strange. I did enjoy the chicken inside though and I consider $8 for lunch to be a decent price. In conclusion - I will not choose this restaurant because of the lack of quality in the food.

Fajitas were amazing... The beans were yummy. Great service and price are really cheap!
(5)Kathy G.
Very good food, hot, fast and friendly employees. Get crowded quick though during peak hours. Prices are very reasonable.

Stopped here on our way back home off I-65 to satisfy a craving for Mexican food for dinner and the place did not disappoint! Quick service in and out and good classic Mexican dishes.

We were served so quickly! And it was a busy Friday evening. The food was good. We recommend.

A friend of mine and I stopped in here for lunch, and we loved it! The food is very fresh and tasty. I'm from the West Coast and I'm super picky about Mexican food (I HATE BAD MEXICAN FOOD!) This was delicious and a pleasant treat! Prices are very reasonable as well, and the decor was very comfortable.

Chicken nachos made me dog sick. I should have called the food police. Never been so sick!!!!!!

Pancho's is your typical Tex-Mex fare. I made the mistake of attempting to order "authentic" style tacos when I came last time. The onions, cilantro, and meat were good, however they neglected to double up my corn tortillas and forgot my lime wedges. The server was busy and we were late joiners to a larger party, but come on man! The margaritas and beer are cheap and good, and just being honest with myself, that's the main reason I come. The Pancho's Burrito, the fajitas, and the enchiladas are all pretty tasty for Tex-Mex stuff anyways. This restaurant was started by a bunch of the employees from Camino Real back in the day; so they've been doing Tex-Mex in Franklin for a very long time. Very rarely do you see execution errors and the food is consistent. There are places that I like better for Tex-Mex, but this is my favorite spot for Tex-Mex fare in Franklin.

Best Mexican food! My family has eaten here at least once a week (often more) since they opened, many years ago. The staff is great, service is fast, and food is consistent and always yummy! I have tried most of the menu, but most often, I order fajitas, chimichangas, or burritos. They're portions are always huge. A single order of fajitas serves at least two, sometimes three, depending on how hungry you are; same goes with the nachos! If I don't order a la carte or share, I go home with food. Everything's reasonably priced, especially for the portion size. The drinks are cheap, and my margaritas are always perfect! I've lived in ATL, and eaten Mexican food all over TN, GA, and a few places in FL, but they all made me homesick for Pancho's. Everyone that lives in or around Franklin should try it, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

We tried Panchos after a friend recommended it. We usually go to another Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. Chips and Salsa - chips were good. They kept them coming too; salsa was a bit spicy for me and definitely too hot for my wife, I prefer he salsa at my regular place. 2.5 stars Margaritas - Panchos top shelf margaritas are fantastic. Real strong but really great tasting so u don't realize how strong. 5+ stars Entrees - I ordered enchiladas supremas. They were ok, but I prefer the enchilada sauce, at my regular place. 3 stars They do not have Tres Leches cake. I would return for the margaritas, but I prefer the food at my regular place (a little further west on 96).
(3)Katie S.
This is my favorite place in town for simple chicken tacos! Wish they'd remodel but not distracting enough to keep us away. They are very generous with portions for price. I highly recommend Pancho's Place off of Royal Oaks. Our toddler loves it too!
(4)Jan S.
We go here 2xs/week. It doesn't get the full 5 stars bc the atmosphere is a little lacking (dark/rundown), and I can't vouch for anything but the fajitas. The service is always spectacular, the price is borderline cheap, and the portions are HUGE. They serve chips n salsa for free. Salsa has a good flavor....chips served warm-hot. I highly recommend chicken and/or beef fajitas.
(4)Adam V.
We like to hit Pancho's on Friday nights. It's a great spot and the food is always excellent. We also like the salsa because it's really spicy. The service can be a bit scattered at times (otherwise they would have received a 5), but we're usually very laid back on the weekend and in no hurry. They will also satisfy requests if you need to have the food altered. They routinely make a cheese chimichanga for my wife that is not on the menu. Typically, I either get fajitas or chicken tacos and they are both solid choices. I also like that I can load my pockets with 8 peppermint patty's when I leave for a dollar. Overall, this place is like many other Mexican restaurants, but the food is consistently excellent.
(4)Jeff M.
Not just amazing food, but friendly and courteous staff as well. They serve the food hot, make sure your drinks are always topped up and that the background music is never too loud. The food is incredible, we especially enjoy the Chicken Fajita Nachos and their Taco Salads. I would highly recommend this place.

Lunch special is a good price and a whole bunch of food I'm not even done and I'm full
(4)Dennis M.
Good food, good people. We've known the primary folks working at Pancho's place since they worked at the old Camino Real. We see many of the same servers for years, which helps with consistency. They're great; the food is good, portions are large and prices very reasonable. I can't speak to whether it's "authentic" (hey, this is Tennessee...) but we've never been disappointed and it's usually busy. If you want something a little "lighter" try the fish - "Filete de Pescado" is tilapia simply grilled with Mexican spices served with lettuce, guac, rice and flour tortillas.
(5)Rene G.
We've lived in the Southwest and have always missed the Mexican food. Living in middle TN now, we've never found that authentic Mexican restaurant until now. The pork tacos with cilantro and onions literally melt in your mouth. In fact, I'm drooling right now just thinking about them. As for their salsa, I would drink the stuff if they'd put it in a glass. The only thing I would say is that the chips are often overcooked but seriously who cares. This gives me an excuse to not fill up on the chips!

Do yourself a favor and go to Garcias just down the road. This is absolutely the worst Mexican Restaurant in Franklin. Low quality ingredients which are by no means fresh.

We moved here from Texas (you know TexMex food north of Denton County is not any good). This place is the exception - great TexMex that is not in the SouthWest. Our food was great, chips and salsa wore very good (hot - but not too hot, with tons of flavor). The price was very reasonable, service was top notch and quick. We got the wrong dish (our fault - not the servers). He fixed it, quickly, apologized (again - it was our fault) and there was no additional charge. Only been here one time but we will be headed back - hey, it is closer than Ft Worth.
(5)Suzanne M.
Everything here is great. Better than any typical Mexican places around. As they might not serve "authentic" mexican cousine, there's beats all. Margaritas are awesome and the staff is the best! They actually remember you and try to remember what you like! Love them.
(5)Karin H.
My family has been eating at Pancho's for the last 20 years and it doesn't get any better. The fajitas are THE BEST around and very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Just cannot bring ourselves to visit any other Mexican food establishment because we always leave disappointed.

A great place for a quick lunch. May I suggest the chipotle chicken nachos over rice!
