Since Honest Coffee was closed, thought I'd rely on my car GPS to take me to a non-Starbucks est and so I ended up at a location I've never been to, contrary to one review I've read, the place was easy to find, parked next to the back entrance and was helped right away by a nice friendly lady. Ordered my mocha and it was just as heavenly in taste as my favorite place to go for my coffee fix. With that said, I will be coming back.

Very neat and quiet coffee shop. Great for working or studying. Have a very pretty lake view. I drove 30 mins to get here and I feel very worth of it.

Was hoping for a better experience, but I'll give them another try next time I'm in the area because I prefer to support local coffee shops. I really want to like this place. First off, good luck finding the shop. I knew exactly where it was supposed to be based on GPS, but I overlooked the place twice due to poor signage and ended up driving around that same building twice and then wandered further around to a different section of Westhaven before finally seeing a sign for it! I feel the drink menu (coffee and espresso) is a little limited. They do have different food options including baked goods, biscuits, and even ice cream. It was after I had ordered and paid for my mocha that I found the muffins wrapped and stored on a centerpiece server on the middle of the big table where patrons were sitting. So I went back and grabbed one and paid separately. My mocha was on par. The muffin was just not very appetizing. The service was fine, but they didn't go out of their way to smile or make you feel welcomed. Oh yeah, my lid came off my drink twice, but fortunately it did not result in a major spill. I had trouble getting the lid to fit on my cup. They also have tea and coffee by the bag for sale, as well as gifts. The place is beautiful and rustic on the inside. I'm hoping next time I have a chance to stop in that I can upgrade my review.

I was recommended to this coffee shop. It was a ways out there for a drive for coffee. Hands down best vanilla mocha I've ever had. It was amazing! The iced tea was absolutely delicious as well. I wish I could bring back some iced tea back home! Very friendly staff who made my mocha so cute with designs in it. It's definitely worth the drive out there to visit this coffee shop. It also has a cute little area out front for nice days!

Excellent coffee, ultra friendly baristas. Quaint decor and quiet atmosphere. Egg pies are delicious. Quite flavorful. They need better signage, as we knew it was here but the sign was totally missable. Beautiful carved wood, but... Almost unreadable. How about a small, subtle lighted or LED coffee cup in the window?

My experience today was very disappointing. First, the interior decorations is overkill Restoration Hardware and not very comforting. Second, I ordered a very simple Mocha, 12 oz, and after sticker shock of $5.75, I had a drink and the coffee was very dull. I get the impression they care more about their trendy image than to make a good, affordable product. Need better coffee and better prices, I don't plan to come back.

The place is small and unassuming, but that's the charm. Around sunset, the view across the lake is worth the trip to the High Brow Brew. The decor is contemporary rustic and the attention to detail is perfect. The staff is always attentive and friendly. The time spent waiting on a delicious cup of your favorite flavor of coffee can used to drool onto the glass overlooking their specialty ice creams. Sit around the giant table and browse all the muffins and brownies and homemade treats. Yes.....try the gluton free brownie with a sunset. Before you know it, your coffee is ready. And it's a masterpiece that you hate to stir one of the many sweeteners into. Bravo....

Excellent coffee and great atmosphere including a very rustic shabby chic style. Gelato is excellent as well. The food offerings are out of a fridge and not made to order which does take away a bit from the overall experience as everything else is so expertly hand crafted. Pricing is reflective of very high end coffee and espresso offerings so don't expect it to be Dunkin Donuts. Great spot to plop a laptop down for some out of the office inspiration that isn't the craziness of a Starbucks full of students, hipsters and high school kids.

great espresso, terrible name, great vibe. They even sell ice-cream and a few other goodies. They've just changed brands of their beans/roasts and it was a mistake in my opinion. Still good, but the counter culture was perfect. Still, one of my favorite coffee shops out there.

This place is in a very cookie cutter neighborhood so it was a little hard to find for a moment. The staff is super friendly, and it's a tiny little shop! I just had a latte and it didn't quite have enough milk, but other than that I enjoyed getting a little jolt of caffeine and getting some work done. I LOVE the laptop bars they have in there- lots of outlets!

Coffee is excellent. Customer service/friendliness could improve. Really cute store and nice to sit outside looking across the pond.

Great place for a wonderful cup of coffee, and it has the best ice cream you find in Tennessee. I just can't stay away from this place.

Expensive but Great coffee. Hard space to have meetings in with clients due to the layout but really good coffee.

It is pretty unique that I give a coffee shop 5stars, but this place is def. worth it. Just like this place, pretty and unique. It looks like page 74 out of Restoration Hardware magazine. The staff are friendly, and knowledgable without being pretentious. The right amount of hipster meets soccer mom (within walking distance to WestHaven) Coffee and espresso are well made. Good small selection of local baked and frozen treats. Not necessarily a "breakfast place" unless you consider a muffin & coffee breakfast... And if you do, I don't trust your life choices.

Good atmosphere. I liked the options for ice cream, particularly the cherry flavored one. The lemon cake was fantastic!

Best coffee atmosphere and great coffee! Their sausage biscuits are great too! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the employees are a bit rude and act a bit too "cool" to wait on you. Other than that great place!

When a place is called High Brow Brew.... You just know you gotta go in - great people great service great drinks -

This place is nice inside, but they encourage and expect 15%-25% when you sign their iPad after waiting at the counter. But they don't want to walk around the counter to deliver your food? Not a great experience.

I find myself in here at least 3 time a week!! My wife and I can't get enough of their chai and coffee:)

It was love at first sight. This place caught my eye from the car window- Rocking Chairs on the front porch over looking the lake, Mason Jars, a Water bowl out front for Pups, etc. The atmosphere is everything I've ever wanted in a coffee shop. The Baristas were friendly. The Bourbon Caramel Latte was refreshingly not over bearing(sweet) like most coffee shops. It was fantastic. Not to mention the Latte art. You go, High Brow.

Was there earlier today- Latte was great- biscuit was microwaved , employees were less than pleasant. I couldn't get a "hello" or anything out of them. Silence is golden at a movie- not a coffee shop.

I love the decor and atmosphere; beautiful setting; service is good, though a bit slow. I wouldn't recommend if you're in a hurry, on your way to the office, etc. Its more of a "gaze and chatter" kind of place, mostly affluent folk wasting time, but I must say that for the price, the actual product is disappointing. They recently changed to go cups to what is obviously a cheaper type; and I've had more than a few leakers (but it's supposed to be ok cause they're "made of recycled material") Twice I've used the creamer only to get a mile down the road and realize it was spoiled and made my whole coffee sour. I really only go for coffee, but I got a breakfast item once and was disappointed, as it was overpriced for what you get. Dial it up guys; just because it's in westhaven doesn't mean you can get away with it.

Best coffee shop I've ever been too! Locally made food, highest end coffee beans and wonderful staff and atmosphere! These bad reviews are hilarious and people clearly don't get it. No this isn't dunkin donuts and definitely not starbucks.... Its in a league of its own!

Hubby and I love living in Franklin, and while we don't live in Westhaven, we frequent this neighborhood for the great little Chinese place next door. This past weekend we noticed a new neighbor to our stir fry haunt, and had to pop in. It seems they only opened two weeks ago, and Hi Brow is a coffee place, a pastry place, and an ice cream place as well. It's a small little shop, but the coffee aroma triples its square footage if the front doors are propped open like they were on the night we visited. We enter the front door and see this HUGE farmhouse type table with this amazing chandelier and glass domed cake stands, wire baskets of pastries, and random other goodies with comfy benches to prop up a seat. On one side there's a cooler with chilled beverages, and at the back there is a small ice cream freezer sporting about eight flavors and a helpful, smiling barista. We had just eaten and of course were not hungry at all, which means I got ice cream. I picked a buttery caramel traditional cream based something or another flavor, and it was yummy. It was rich, way rich, I could tell I've been on pinkberry for a while now... a nice little treat. A plus for some would be that they serve you ice cream in a cup with a wooden spoon, felt like a balsa wood or something. I'm all for saving the planet, and I get that plastic is practically forever, but I gotta say the sensation of that wooden spoon in your mouth with ice cream... not a fan. It was just weird. Will we stop back in another day? I'm sure we will. And I'll opt for a cone, and probably pick a less rich flavor for my palate, but cute nonetheless. The barista/ice cream scooper lady said the name Hi Brow comes from the name of the farm the owners also own. And if you're thinking that huge neon sign is just an HB and not Hi Brow, you'd be right. Signage isn't big here, but in a community like Westhaven, that's OK. Cute place, independently owned, stop in for a visit.

Iced coffee is brewed the right way. Not hot coffee poured over ice. Really great coffee and treats. But the other clientele are SNOBS. rich hipsters. I have tried this place several times. It has been really off putting. I'm not sure the store realizes how their customers treat newbies. *****update 11/7 The owner says they are trying change that environment. Sorry your store in WestHaven.

Authentic, snooty, or snotty? Your experience will depend on your tastes. Located in the Westhaven Town Center overlooking the lake... this is a coffee aficionado's paradise. Southern Americana meets European cafe. High quality, small portions - sip, relax, slow down and enjoy.

Parked myself inside High Brow Brew this morning- a quaint little shop with pallet walls & homemade sausage biscuits inside the Westhaven community. It might have taken me a little drive to get here but it is divine. The baristas are passionate about their coffee & they make a great slow pour.

Very knowledgable baristas who make excellent drinks! Great ice cream, pastries and biscotti, too! Wonderful atmosphere with a nice breeze from the little lake - with very cute duck families!

Had a great cup of Americano and some granola in here today. Perfect small breakfast coffee joint. Great vibe. Cool people. It's a little pricey but worth it.

These guys are GREAT. The coffee is delicious, the vibe is relaxed yet well put together, and the staff is friendly but not overbearing. Go by - it's a a cool spot.

I always stop here on the way to work for an iced tea, probably the best iced tea I have had in a long time, I need to ask what brand they use. I love the decor of this place, it feels cozy and modern. When I am feeling super hungry, their biscuits with various fillings hit the spot. I deducted one star for price ($4 for small unsweet tea seems a bit high, although I do appreciate the food quality), lack of large to go tea glasses (notice a trend here?), and lack of lemons for tea drinkers. Do not go here expecting a later breakfast, as they often run out of items, but I noticed they have been adding more options so this may be changing. Overall great experience!

Good coffee. Great cheesecakes and ice cream. Awesome to be able to walk / bike to get a cuppa.

wanted to love this place as it is near our house. the food was overpriced with a $3 price tag on a ham biscuit. if it was amazing I would have no problem with the price, but it was a pre-made biscuit just slightly larger then a silver dollar with very small scrawny piece of ham and microwaved. At $5 I had a butternut squash/bacon egg pie (slice of Quiche) which was also on the small side but tasted good. In all I am sure this would be a good alternate coffee stop, but would not recommend if you are looking for food with that coffee.

$3.25 for a ham biscuit the size of a silver dollar! Won't be back. Thank you.

Only been once, but the coffee was excellent! Service was a little slow, but I'll chalk that up to it just opening. Glad to finally have a great coffee spot in Westhaven.
