Great restaurant, they are currently doing some work at this location but it didn't affect our evening. If you come with kids be prepared to wait for a long time. They do bring out the childrens meals first to keep them entertained however if you are coming for some fast food then you should try a different pizza place. Great pizzas with a wide variaty.

Somehow I've been lucky enough to have sampled several Mellow Mushrooms the past couple years. While this location certainly isn't the best, I was surprised that it was definitely better than I anticipated. Given the choice I'd prefer the location on the strip (Kingston Pike) (did I just recommend going to the STRIP??), but this will do. Very friendly server, clean bathrooms. We got the House Special pizza, which I use to gauge most of the MMs I try, and it was pretty good, but the least so of most others I've tried. Our food took a LONG time to arrive (~25-30 minutes) even though there were very, very few people in the entire place. I'd still go again but there are so may other options in that area now, it wouldn't be a intentional endeavour.

Tasted ok at the time. Service was ok. I now have food poisoning from something. Probably won't be coming back.

I'm just not a fan. I was seated right away, but then the table service was slow. The time it took to bake a pie was also very slow. Biggest pet peeve is to wait 10 minutes just to order. My waiter was friendly enough despite the wait. I had the greasiest pizza in the world with slimy toppings that didn't convince me with their 'freshness' at all. I've had better mellow pizza at different locations in the nation.

Good news! This Mellow Mushroom served us a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza with different sauces this time when we visited. Service was excellent. Also ordered a Greek Salad and the produce was perfect (amazing considering it is November). Will add this back to our road trip stop!

Another pizzeria with vegan cheese! Score. Now imagine the Papa John's crust - warm, soft, crust. I ordered a Mega Veggie pie and a Holy Shitake pie. The Holy Shitake pie was off the wall for mushroom lovers. Another pie with truffle oil dictated my tongue over my brain. So far for portion control..As for the veggie pie, it was ordinary but still better than Brixx. They weren't cheap on the veggies too which is great.

Terrible service. Will not make this mistake again. Too many restaurants in Knoxville that appreciate customers.

3.5 stars Maybe it's just me but I think this MM is better than the one down on the Strip. Located off Campbell Station Rd between a Walgreen's and Hardee's the "low impact" signing makes this almost a blink-and-you'll-miss-it sort of place. The GF and I went for a late supper on a Friday night. We were seated immediately and overall the service was great! We order a large half Thai and half Mellowterranean. Here's a tip: you can split up a pizza if the sauce bases are the same. In this case the two we chose were garlic and olive oil base. We also ordered pretzels- 3 of the cinnamon sugar honey and 3 of the parmesan garlic- and they were warm, soft, doughy and not to mention tasty! I must admit I have eaten at Mellow Mushroom several times and their crust continues to grow on me. Cheese is always a big deal to me and Mellow Mushroom's is just OK but their crust is pretty spectacular! The biggest downside: price. Everything's about money these days. Our order with a pitcher of fresh cold beer (yum!) plus tip was close to $70. Ouch! Almost every other pizza joint in Knoxville would be cheaper. This is the major reason for my rating but I would come here again just not as often as I'd like.

I've had great Mellow Mushroom experiences, this was not one of them. The hummus appetizer was delicious, but the pizza was sub-par to what I expected.

I really wanted to like this place. It's the right crowd for us, a fun atmosphere and lots of great beer. But the pizza is overpriced for what you get and just alright. We spent $50 here for pizza, pretzels, 1 cider, 1 regular drink and tip. My husband ended up not even getting beer because he was so mad about the food price. The pizza was doughy for me and just overall "meh". The pretzels were very good but I regretted ordering them once the pizza came out. We wanted to try the jamaican jerk chicken with some variation on the ingredients, but it was so much more expensive to build your own pizza vs. getting something on the menu! Overall I was disappointed.

Too much dough, too much cheese, too little flavor. I like thin crust pizza with fresh, flavorful, and creative toppings; this place offers none of these. I'd direct my fellow yelpers elsewhere but I've yet to find great pizza in Knoxville. Brixx is probably your best bet based on my experience.

Darn good pizza! The crust is outstanding and the options are plentiful. I love the atmosphere and staff. Being a NYC girl and loving my hometown pizza, I was not sure I'd like this place but I am glad I gave it a try. I've been back twice and the food, service and atmosphere are consistently great.

Wish I could rant and rave about this one as much as everyone else has, but when you walk through the front door only to be greeted by a surely face who is put out seating seven for dinner, kind of puts you off for the rest of the meal. The pizza is good, the waiter was okay, but did not go out of his way to be the least bit friendly and we were crammed in with several other close by tables when there was plenty of other area that they could have spread us all out in. Go back? Probably to one of the others, but I will avoid this location in the future.

Ive only visited this store a few times, only either on Sundays for Brunch, or their Trivia night. All of our group experiences have been pleasant, even though those occasions were very busy times. We have all enjoyed our food each time, and their fabulous draft beer selection. I always "build my own" sandwich due to food contraints, and they are always very kind and willing to custom make my sandwich, which I LOVE and appreciate greatly! I wish I was able to visit more often. Also, their servers have that "laid-back" type of approach, but are kind, courteous, efficient and helpful! Great experience!

Awesome pizza (get your own, you're not going to want to share), and they have a seriously stocked bar too. The interior is much less crammed with random fun stuff than the Asheville location I'd been to before, but the service here was great. Even on the packed trivia night everyone working here had a smile and food was coming out of the kitchen quickly!

Can't go wrong with pizza's like Magical Mystery Tour and the Holy Shiitake. Good to see excellent pies outside of NYC.

Yes, people told me they had a good beer list, but the plastic-fantastic suburban-chain atmosphere of the Mellow Mushroom in Farragut kept me from away for a long time. I now know that I was denying myself the chance to eat excellent pizza (not to mention the pleasures of that beer list). About the pizza: Start with the crust. It's exceptionally tasty (I'm afraid to know what they put into it to make it taste so good). Then there are the myriad choices of things to put on that crust -- do you want olive oil and garlic, pesto, or "red" tomato sauce as the base on your pizza? (They also offer barbecue sauce, but I don't want to think about that.) Do you want cheese -- if so, what kind(s)? (They offer mozzarella, fresh mozarella, cheddar, bleu, ricotta, feta, and several others.) And how about that list of "fruits and veggies" (the usual veggies like black olives and green pepper are joined by diverse "gourmet" choices like sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and artichokes; pineapple is the only actual fruit on the list) and a list of "protein" toppings (from tofu to anchovies to buffalo chicken to ham to pepperoni, and many things in between -- but why is avocado on the protein list?). With all that choice, I bet many people simply opt for one of the specialty pizzas... However, our friendly server offered excelent advice to help us choose (her recommendation of olive oil and garlic for the base was right on target). We didn't even think about the non-pizza items on the menu. Suffice it to say that the menu includes salads, hoagies, calzones, and other items. The beer list may be another challenge for people who have trouble making choices. The beer list appears to be maintained locally (unlike the menu), so it should be a pretty good guide to what's available. The long (too long for freshness, perhaps) list of draft beers included a decent range of imports and microbrews (from New Belgium in Colorado and several producers in the southeastern U.S.), as well as a couple of mass-produced American brands. I confess that I didn't bother to look at the list of bottled beers after seeing the good choices available on tap. So, the Mellow Mushroom has good food, good beer, and excellent service, but there's still the little matter of atmosphere. Laminated plastic menus with lots of photos don't bother me in chain restaurants near the Interstate, but they don't seem right in a place that's trying to be a funky pizza seller and bar. (And now that I think about it, it dawns on me that the Mellow Mushroom is a chain, and this location is pretty darn close to the Campbell Station Rd. exit of I-40/75.) And while the fake-60s fake-hippie murals on the walls are definitely not what you expect in a chain restaurant along the Interstate, they don't fool me for an instant. Last but not least, there's the little matter of access to the entrance from the parking lot -- much like the nearby Turkey Creek shopping center, there are no sidewalks here. If you happen to park on a side of the restaurant that isn't the side with the front door, you probably will find yourself walking in a driving lane to get from your car to the door.

Eating my spinach and pesto tofu pizza was like a dream. I live in Chicago, and this pizza without question exceeded the quality and taste of 90% of the pizza I've had in Chicago by a landslide. The crust was risen to unfathomable perfection. Not too bready, but not too crackery. Cornmeal-speckled and a tiny hint of sweetness. Piping hot. Not to mention that the toppings were beyond deliciousness.

Best pizza in Farragut. Fresh. Lively atmosphere. Good service (though we often get the pizza to go).

I was on a business trip out here, and a friend recommended me this place. REALLY great pizza and for a decent price. Cool bar, friendly people and a good place to watch the game or bring the team after a game.
