Love this place. Mr Neil and his wife are very friendly and easy to talk to. The food on the buffet side is always good. Wish they would bring back the teriyaki chicken though. The hibachi is always awesome and the sushi is ok. I love this place and keep going back.

This place has a bit of everything. Buffet, hibachi, sushi & a full menu. We only had the sushi. It was delicious. The sweetheart roll was not only good but adorable with the pieces put together to form hearts.

This place is awesome serving both chinese and japanese dishes. I have traveled around the country and this is one of my favorite places, glad it is here.

The chicken and filet dinner is excellent. Wife enjoys the sushi and she is sushi aficionado. The dressing on the salad is as good as any Japanese I have had. The sushi area is where we prefer to eat is also the corridor to the hibachi which I do not like.

First off, the establishment was formerly a Ryan's Buffet, and the owners did a great job of remodeling the restaurant. It's very clean and modern, the sushi area has a nice modern flair. You basically have three choices when you visit Shogun: Chinese buffet, Hibatchi food, or sushi bar. Cannot comment on the buffet. Traditional hibachi fare was good, no complaints there. The dedicated sushi bar was nice. I had the spicy tuna roll, which was great. It seemed fresh, and it was tasty. Presentation was also nice. Very nice to have (good) sushi within a 35 minute drive in West Tennessee. Service was excellent, and the servers were very friendly. The manager, greeting the guests at the door (I presume,) was also friendly. All around nice experience.

The food was cold and everything on the buffet seemed to be there for hours. The steak on the buffer tasted like leather. In the time that I was at the restaurant, nobody filled any of the items on the buffet. When I went to the Mongolian grill, I had to ring the bell 4 times and waited almost 5 minutes before someone showed up. It appeared that the person cooking the food did not know what they were doing,.

I'm a big sushi fan but, thus far, I have only been able to sample the sushi that has been at the Chinese buffet portion of this restaurant. I have visited the restaurant a few times when visiting my family, but as my family isn't very adventurous, I haven't been able to explore the Japanese food. The next time I visit, I hope to find out if I can order off the sushi menu while my family digs into the buffet. The buffet had a lot of options and is fairly typical for a Chinese buffet except that it was a slightly larger buffet than most. I greatly appreciate the fact that they have a special section where I can put together my own stir-fry. I like lots of vegetables, garlic and spice in my stir-fry, so I usually am far happier doing this than picking through the options at the buffet. I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the hot and sour soup, which is unfortunate since this is my favorite soup at Chinese restaurants, but at least the buffet has enough options that I have the option of putting together a fairly healthy or a fairly unhealthy meal, depending on my desire at the time I go. The sushi I've sampled from the buffet has so far been high quality so I look forward to trying more in the future.

Really excellent sushi - I hesitate to say it - "especially for Dyersburg". The sushi is very good for any small town. I currently recommend the Mexican Roll and the Lobster King. I didn't really have anything bad. Prices are very reasonable. They were offering a 2-for-1 special on "basic" rolls. The big rolls were very large (like Sakura in Jackson). The descriptions of the rolls was a bit lacking (especially the "special rolls"), but again, nothing was a disappointment. Service was excellent on a Sunday afternoon.
