This is hands down the best BBQ in the area. There are some other places closer to us that we like, but when company comes to town or we are just ready for excellent food we are more than willing to drive an hour to experience Back Alley BBQ. The pulled pork and brisket are moist and tender. The house BBQ sauce is a vinegar based sauce, which I am not really fond of in general. I love the meat with or without sauce. The sides are excellent as well. All made from scratch and delicious. In particular, I love the cornbread which is sliced, buttered and then fried on a griddle until it is warm and toasty. Desserts are also made from scratch and very tasty. The only thing that I wish they would do different is be open all the time. The hours are a little different as they close at 2 PM and re-open at 5 PM. The locals have this figured out and there is often a small line at 5. Don't miss out on this if you are anywhere in the area.

Best BBQ in Dickson. I've had pulled pork, Ribs, Brisket & Chicken. All are wonderful. Someone here knows a thing or 12 about BBQ. The ribs are my Favorite. Try this place out!

Brisket. The hardest meat to get tender, moist, and flavored. Back Alley BBQ nailed it. Perfectly smoked, sliced to order, and included a burnt end (if you wanted it). The brisket was on point and as good as any brisket I've had. The sauce offering is good, but not needed. Great meat comes with it's own sauce and added sauce isn't necessary. Back Alley BBQ understands this well. It's worth the drive from Nashville! The sides were good, homemade like, and I was happy with the baked beans and slaw. The only reason there isn't a fifth star is because the meat portion was too small. I know that beef prices are high these days, but I'd rather have smaller sides or pay a buck or two more.

Some of the best bbq I've ever had. Very friendly staff and even better food. The pulled pork sandwich was incredible with some hot bbq sauce. I also got to try the ribs and the brisket. Both were delicious and I'm missing it already. The people working were extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely a high recommendation for anyone craving some amazing southern bbq!

Best BBQ in the area. Also better than anything I've had in Nashville. The sides are great, Mac and cheese, green beans are a must. Look out for daily specials, nachos, meatloaf, and the bologna are must haves. This place is a 30 minute drive for me and its my only reason for a trip to Dickson. But when I have a craving for BBQ, this is the only answer.

Excellent BBQ! I love to go there on Thursdays because they serve Nachos from 11 to 2:00. Get there early because once they run out you're out of luck. Give them a try, you won't be sorry.

Back Alley BBQ is a great choice for BBQ in Dickson. Love the corn bread! My only slight complaint is that I'm generally dining with just one other person. Back Alley BBQ's dining area is pretty small, and for the most part the tables are very large. I wish there a few 2-person tables in the small dining areas. The restaurant has been or gotten crowded every time we've been in, and I feel guilty when a big family comes in and we're occupying a big table.

First, the name is BACK ALLEY BBQ. Second, the food here is fantastic! Our family was in Dickson last weekend and plans at another restaurant fell through, fortunately. We walked around the corner to Back Alley BBQ and found one of the best BBQ joints I have been to. I love barbecue and have had it all over Texas, in St Louis, Kansas City, the Carolinas, Oklahoma, Florida and a lot of other places. This was the first time in Tennessee and we hit the jackpot with Back Alley. Ribs were well-charred but moist. Perfect! Pulled pork was excellent. Meat was high-quality. We all loved both sauces. Sides were all first rate - cole slaw, mac and cheese, potato salad. Plates come with fried cornbread which was something new, but good. And save room for peach cobbler and pecan pie. Yummy! Everything is made on premises from scratch and it is all excellent. And the staff is very friendly and proud of their food, which they should be. If you are anywhere near Dickson and want some 'cue, Back Alley is THE place.

I travel a lot for work and I love barbeque so for the last 25 years I've tried barbeque in every city and state I've traveled to. In my opinion Back Alley BBQ is the best I have ever eaten and not just by a little bit. They win hands down on their ribs. The ribs are so good I have never tried anything else they have on the menu. I only get to go there once a week and I would hate to miss out on those wonderful ribs. Back Alley BBQ is still pretty new but the word has gotten out quickly and they recently won an award for the Best BBQ in Middle Tennessee.
