Absolutely the BEST sushi in dickson if not nashville! I swear! I'm finicky and extremely particular and I know it doesn't seem possible that this little place nestled inside a hotel is amazing, but it's TRUE!!! You'll fall in love with the food and staff. Ricky, the owner, is personable and a perfectionist! Love This Place!

Traveling through from Richmond and found the food to be very good. Excellent service and friendly staff. Or son had the chicken and shrimp hibachi and loved it. We had sushi and beef negi maki which were both excellent. We would definitely come back. Did not try the thai dishes.

Never thought I would find really good Asian cuisine in Dickson. Love this place. I'm a vegetarian and they have tons of options to choose from.

Staff is nice, food is ok. I have had much, much better, but a decent place for Dickson. Parking is a pain in the butt. The owner should really look for another place.

Poor service and mediocre food. We had to ask for everything twice. Is table near us was lavished with good service while we had to beg for it.

I consider myself to be very much a Japanese food snob, and I absolutely love Akoya. I was honestly shocked to find such a great place in Dickson of all places. No they aren't 100% traditional, but it makes sense that they'd have to make a few amends for the local clientele. They're still delicious, and they still have quite a decent variety of things to pick from. The service is second to none; it seems like every server in the restaurant visits every table just to make sure everything is perfect. The food is always delicious, with fresh ingredients, and beautifully arranged on your plate. Every variety of sushi I've tried here has been fantastic, as has the tempura and other menu items. I'm very partial to their chirashi and unagi don, and I believe they have the best nabeyaki udon in Tennessee. Their lunch and dinner bento boxes are also fantastic. Don't let the exterior look of the place fool you! It looks a bit dumpy, mostly due to the raggedy hotel that it's attached to. But inside, the place is nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. I make it a point to go here anytime I'm visiting Dickson, and you won't regret it if you do the same.

This place has great food. I've eaten there numerous times and every experience has been excellent. Fresh sushi and great service. I hope they open a location in downtown Dickson! You're missing out if you don't give them a chance.

What a fantastic experience,! Great food, great atmosphere.. Not cheesy Chinese, authentic cuisine! I will be back!

Read the reviews, decided to try it. Really surprised to find it was as good as the reviews said. Hot and Sour soup was very flavorful, similar to SF bay area experience, though it had chicken in it and not pork. I had their Thai red curry chicken. It could have used more chicken in it, but the flavor was really good, and I was pleasantly surprised to taste pretty good Thai curry at a Japanese restaurant. I will go back.

We had to order for pick-up because they won't do delivery with a coupon. We received a coupon for a free birthday meal. The way the coupon was worded made it sound like you actually got a free meal on your birthday but it actually meant a free meal for you on your birthday IF you bought 4 other meals. Since there were only 2 of us she said she would give us 50% off one meal, fair enough, but they ended up giving us one meal free. BONUS! Over all excellent food for what it was. We both ordered dinner boxes. Lots of variety but kind of small portions. I can't wait to try the Sushi.

Decided to try this place based on reviews. Drove up and looked a tad plain on the outside but we gave it a try. Wow! Never expected to have such good Asian food in Dickson. The dining room was very tastefully appointed and the bathroom was spotless (yes I check always). The service was super attentive and the owner came by to check on us. He even offered a couple of items on the house to try. The soups we had were very flavorful and served hot. We did not try the sushi but had Thai and Chinese dishes. My Thai dish could have been a tad spicier but like most of these places, they are reluctant to send the food out too hot to have it returned. Anyway, we had a very pleasant experience and will definitely return.

This was a fantastic restaurant I accidentally discovered via a promo on Facebook. It is practically next door in Dickson, TN. I would have never expected to find a sushi/Asian restaurant of this quality in Dickson. The menu is extensive, with an appetizer list that is bigger than many restaurants entire menu. There are dishes from Thailand, China, and Japan. Our appetizers were the fried calamari and bacon wrapped scallops on skewers, both of which were excellent. The sushi choices were myriad, and the Volcano Roll I got was superb. Stuffed to the gills with my sushi roll and appetizers, and awash with sake, I could hold no more, but my wife had the fried banana dessert. I managed to consume a few bites of her dessert, and it was fantastic. I don't think I have ever been to a sushi bar that had a dessert menu. I can't say enough good things about the wait-staff. You only had to let a need or desire flicker across your countenance, and someone would be at your elbow to inquire about your need. They were constantly refilling my sake cup, checking our water glasses, taking away finished dishes, and enquiring if we needed anything else. At least two waiters or waitresses were constantly patrolling the dining area like a defensive perimeter. The food was excellent, the decor pleasant, prices were reasonable, and the service was second to none. There will certainly be return visits. Highly recommended.

Great food and friendly service. I like the variety of food....Japanese, Chinese and Thai.

While it might never occur to most diners to check out an Asian restaurant attached to a defunct motel in Dickson TN, it is definitely an eatery to explore. Unbelievably fresh and inventive sushi, flavorful Chinese dishes, plus Thai and Japanese dishes. Crab Rangoon actually contains crab, the sauces are tasty and light, not heavy and greasy. The tempura was also light and non greasy. The decor is attractive and tasteful, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great veggie sushi choices like peanut avocado and sweet potato. This restaurant is of much higher quality than most found in much bigger cities, and the prices are very reasonable.

Large Selection of Asian Food! This place is fantastic! We have been several times and will have to visit several more to try everything. They offer sushi, hibachi dishes, bento boxes, Chinese dishes, and Thai food. We have had several sushi rolls and they are always fresh and delicious. My favorite Japanese dish is the hibachi beef dinner. I can't get enough of that tender beef dipped in yum yum sauce. I even pour the sauce on my fried rice. My favorite Chinese dish is the Moo Goo Gai Pan. If you are craving Asian food this is the place to be and not matter what dish you decide on it will be delicious. The entree presentation is always exciting. I've seen flowers made from fruit or vegetables. Pretty and edible. The staff is so friendly and the service is great. You will have everything you need during your meal. We have moved recently but this will be the one restaurant that I would make the trip to Dickson.

This is a great place to eat and great people. I have been here a couple of times and love it.its always clean, the food is fresh and really good. The staff are so friendly and you never feel rushed, it's a family atmosphere. This is a hidden Gem in the lil town of Dickson. It's a favorite of mine and I'll be back for sure.

The best place to get sushi and authentic Japanese, Chinese, & Thai style cuisine. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! The very curteous and attentive servers kept our tea hot and drinks full and cold. And the chef was phenomenal who made a sushi plate (off menu btw) which was delicious. I recommened coming here first to anyone who asks about having a great meal at an affordable price!

My friend and I were craving sushi, so we decided to check this place out since it had decent reviews. We got there at the time I would consider the "lunch rush" but there was hardly anyone there. We were immediately seated and checked on by multiple waiters. They have very reasonable prices and we each got the lunch special which included 2 rolls, soup, and salad. I had the Philadelphia roll and the Eel Cucumber roll. Both were good the only complaint that I have is that the sushi could have been colder. We each ordered an appetizer which were great. I had a delicious green tea ice cream in the end. Overall service was great and food was good, especially for being near such a sketchy inn. We would defiantly go back.

My husband and I just moved to Dickson and had been craving sushi. What luck to find such a gem in a town so small! The lunch menu was a great deal and the service was fabulous. We'll definitely be back!

Akoya is a hidden gem in Dickson! This place honestly doesn't look like somewhere you would want to stop from the outside... It is situated in the same building as a not-so-great looking hotel, and parking is a little tight. With that being said, it is well worth walking in to find a real gem for Asian cuisine. When you walk in, the first thing that hits you is the stark contrast between outside and inside; as I stated the outside looks a little rough. The inside is extremely clean and well decorated, with a friendly and attentive staff waiting to take care of you. The food is Japanese steakhouse fare, only without the hibachi at your table. Most of the meals are served in courses, with delicious soups and appetizers being the first courses, and then the main courses after. I have tried a number of dishes and have not been disappointed yet. Fresh flavor, well seasoned and prepared. I am a fairly big eater, and portions are always more than enough here. When you are done, they bring you a nice plate of fresh fruit out for dessert, and then present you with bill that's not bad for the food and service that you get here. Everything about this place is great EXCEPT the outside appearance. I really hope the secret gets out about this hidden diamond, I want to eat here for years to come. Give it a chance and you will not regret it.

The service is FANTASTIC. Waiters were very friendly ( I had 3 waiters at my table.) The ambience was great and it was the first time I've had good duck since I came back from Europe. And the prices were lower than other sushi places. I'll be back on a very regular basis. For those who don't eat sushi they have hibachi and Thai dishes. Recommend the VIP duck.
