Finally tried this place out after a lot of "Should I?"s. It's definitely worth it, though! I mean...you have to realize where you are. You're in Crossville, Tennessee. This is the best Hibachi you're gonna get for miles. And I think it's definitely worth it. Got a Spicy Crab Roll and and the Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp Dinner. The portion size is good (should be enough for you, I get bloated half way through the plate). The flavor is good -- the sauce is a bit thin, but that's okay. Pour it in a saucer or over your rice. What I really thought was neat was that you can buy "Japanese Soda" in different flavors. Comes in a glass bottle with a little marble inside, really neat (Marble doesn't come out, don't try hahah). And after your meal you get a little piece of Japanese candy, which is pretty good. Don't expect a mint though, it's melon :) It's a small place, with rainbow lights and a cute waitress. Give it a shot!

WOW, for Crossville standards this place is excellent. Crossville is not known for their great restaurants, most of us travel to Knoxville or Cookeville to eat well ... but we ate here and were amazed at just how good and excellently priced the entrees were. I had one of the box lunches, everything was cooked great. Service was wonderful.

I visited for Christmas dinner when visiting family in the area as it was one of the few restaurants open. My expectations were not high considering some of the reviews, but I have to say that I was very pleased with my overall experience. The California roll was just ok, but the filet and shrimp combination was excellent. My wife had the Salmon and it was very good as well. In addition, the service was great and the prices are extremely reasonable so I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the Crossville area.

My first time to Crossville & this was a terrible Japanese place/food/service. 4 of us were there & no one else in entire restaurant. It took so long for someone to take out order, check on us, then receive the dang Bill. Did I mention we were ONLY customers in entire place! Then the salad was drenched in some pure mayonnaise dressing...gross, then my miso soup arrived with half a sugar packet" equal" in my bowl stuck to bottom of bowl. ..then got a plate of chicken made for a child. Was still hungry when left

When this restaurant first opened, the prices were excellent and the food was as well. However, on a recent visit the service was terrible, food was not good and the prices had been increased tremendously. The manager also seemed to not care that we were unhappy about the service and the food. We do not recommend this restaurant any longer. We will not be going back.

They don't have the actual Hibachi grill table like most Japanese restaurants....but they serve Hibachi meals. For $10, the food is totally worth it. The chicken, shrimp and beef tips are all good, I personally enjoyed the Miso soup more.

Great sushi in Crossville,TN. We come every summer and always dine here. This year we were a party of 8 and there was something for everyone. The vegetarian avocado and roasted peanut sushi was good. The spicy tuna and speciality rolls are worth trying. One member of our party had a bento box and it was a hit.

Arriving in Crossville I had been told the sushi here was good. I was a bit taken aback as I was, well, in Crossville. So I proceed with caution and to my surprise -- they were right! Now I only had the edemami and 1 roll, so I cannot attest to everything on the menu. Not even close. However, the edemami was nice and warm and perfectly salted. The sushi rice was cooked properly and the fish tasted fresh. The ingredients came together very nicely and just worked well! I was truly impressed. Rolls were priced reasonably and the portions were generous. The only thing I wish is that they hadn't been so stingy with the ginger. I had to ask for more on a couple of occasions. Also, they should brew their own hot tea versus just giving you hot water with a generic teabag. Other than that, shall my work require me to travel back to Crossville I am sure I would return here. Well done!

I TRIED - Sushi & Sashimi Combo (6/10) - Miso Soup (2/10) - Shrimp Tempura (5/10) - Fried Banana (9/10) Crossville...ok, what's with all the 'villes? It's like the explorers played SimCity in the 1700's and decided to divide this area of Tennessee up with their city names: Cookeville, McMinnville, Smithville, Madisonville...I think I've probably used all these names before! Anyway, that's besides the point... Believe me, sushi is NOT my first thought when I enter Crossville, or Tennessee, or any landlocked state. There's not much going on in Crossville, so I was actually thinking of Hardees for dinner (since we don't have those in Chicago). Turns out the client I was visiting recommended this place for being pretty decent and inexpensive. This is from a guy who used to travel for a living, so I figured I'd take his word. MISO SOUP Typical start to a sushi dinner. After I ordered it, I started reading reviews. I read Eric J.'s review that said "Soup tastes like dirty bath water." He's the only 1 star review, so I figured he's just overreacting. My soup comes out...it looks like miso soup. I take a spoonful...and I'm like whoa! I'm trying to think of what this tastes like, but the only thing I could think of was...dirty bath water. So, in all honesty, no it's not actually dirty bathwater, but it's probably the closest description. There was hardly any miso flavoring, so you almost taste the egg-waterish tap water taste, which is what gives the hint of bathwater. It's also not salty enough, so there's nothing to hide the flavor. Avoid this! Well played, Eric! SHRIMP TEMPURA I wasn't sure how many would come for $5.25, but in the end, I guess it was priced about right. It came with 2 shrimp tempura, 2 zucchini, 2 sweet potato, 1 broccoli, 1 onion. They were decent size pieces, so for the money, it's ok. Vegetable tempura is just ok, and so was the shrimp. The shrimp was a little overcooked though, so it was a little chewy. Not the best execution, but not really much to mess up here. SUSHI/SASHIMI COMBO For $20, this isn't so bad. 10 pc sashimi, I think 7 nigiris, and a tuna roll. The tuna sashimi wasn't the freshest, and the salmon was just ok. I like mackerel in general, but this one had an extra flavor - almost sweet, but not a surface sweet, it was an embedded sweet, like sweet potato. It was very subtle, but it was unwelcome. I don't remember the other 2 types, but all I can say was, I'm glad I had a lot of wasabi! The nigiri, though was a different story. I thought the rice was awesome! Perfect level of sour and rice flavor. Good texture, no dried pieces (like sushi buffets). Even though it was the same salmon as the sashimi, the salmon nigiri was delicious! Tuna was definitely better than the sashimi, but not nearly as good as the salmon nigri. There was a surf clam and shrimp one that were just ok, but I'm not really a fan of either of those anyway. Finally, the tuna roll was built very well. Small amounts of rice, big pieces of tuna, but - and this is the first time I've ever said this - I kinda wanted more rice because it tasted so good! The rice on that nigiri is what saved this dish. I'd say if it were the nigiri by itself, this could be like a solid 7. FRIED BANANA Funny thing is, now that I think about it, our client didn't mention anything specific about what to get as far as sushi or anything else. The only thing he did mention was this fried banana w. ice cream. He also mentioned how good the presentation was. I was really surprised, because this place is a little divey, so the elegance of the sauce drawing was really unexpected. I posted a picture up of it on here, so check it out. The banana pieces are fried in tempura and is really good and sweet. There's a scoop of ice cream up top that also mixes really well with the banana pieces too. Maybe my taste buds were exhausted, because I did ruin the drawing by sliding the bananas through the sauces, but didn't really taste anything specific other than more sweetness. At only $3.50, this is a great deal! EAST MEETS CROSSVILE...AND IS NOT IMPRESSED Ok, I guess I knew what I was getting into. Landlocked state...without a big metropolitan presence with a lot of hipsters, you're not going to have a big market for good sushi. Mediocre sushi will just have to do. I guess if you're in Crossville...then I'm just sorry, your options are very limited. I suppose if you're stuck here, and really need sushi, get some nigiri here. The nice side of this coin, that there isn't a huge market for it, is that it drives the price down. That whole meal only cost me $33 before tip. Can't get that kind of price in Chicago, that's for sure.
