Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We ate here twice in our trip. We got pizza on Friday night and steak and burgers on Sunday night. Don't know where in NYC the other yelper was getting her pizza, but this is not better. Sorry. The pizza is very good and eat above average. The crust is homemade and delicious. Their sauce is very sweet and I enjoy that on pizza, my wife thought it was a little too sweet for her. It exceeded my expectations for pizza in Tennessee. The other time I got the NY Strip and baked potato. My wife got the chicken parm. The steak said choice but it did have a good amount of fat and gristle. I will say the flavor was chat grilled and very very good. Then agin for $13.00 you can't beat it. My wife didn't like the chicken parm. The breaking was very hard and all their pasta dishes come with "homemade meat sauce". This sauce is very meaty with a strong flavor. It's not bad tasting at all, but it dominates everything else. The salad bar is $4.25 with an entree purchase. Otherwise it's $6.75 by itself. The soup was good and the salad bar is as expected but nothing extraordinary at all. I thought it was a little pricy for salad but it was okay. We got their cheesecake and chocolate cake for dessert. The cheesecake was very good and fresh. They provide cherry and strawberry topping. All was very good. This place exceeded my expectations and we were pleased with the food and the service. Overall, very good place to eat.

Excellent service, menu and salad bar! Very good food and a laid back atmosphere that fits all occasions.

Since when does a pizza place that closes at 9:00 have a "last call" at 8:15? I live out of state and have spent several hundreds of dollars here every week I'm home. Had my heart set on one last pizza for this trip. I really don't think I'll ever go back.

This is my favorite restaurant in Crossville. They always have great food and service. I love their salad bar. We usually get that along with a pizza. Never any complaints.

This place has probably some of the worst pizza I've ever had. The crust tasted like crackers, the sauce tasted like Chef Boyardee, and no matter how long I waited the cheese slid right off the pizza just by picking it up. Also I was charge for a one topping pizza and I only received a regular cheese pizza. I won't be coming back to this place.

Was originally looking for a different place.. This one derailed our search. Excellent food and great prices! Clean restrooms Nd friendly staff. I heard from three different people in less than fifteen minutes to try the sish kabob or lasagna.

The hostess was rude the decor is the 1970's but our waitress was super and the salad / soup bar was very good. The soups were cabbage with beef and broccoli with cheese, both looked home-made and very good. We also had the house pizza and it was excellent. It's a very thin crust with lots of cheese and toppings. Several other posts complained about the pizza, they must be looking for franchise pizza. Prices are also from the 1970's, 2 salad bars and a medium pizza was $25. The next table was having a cheese calzone. That's what I'm getting next.

Waitresses were extremely polite and attentive, but possibly the WORST pizza I've ever eaten. IV en ever cut out a slice of pizza and watched clear orange grease fill the entire spot on the pan, not a slight coating, running deep grease.... looks like it might be the only name in town for pizza, but I'd suggest you keep going. Maybe the rest of the menu is better....

Gyro plate. Was really good. Took a little long to spit out one gyro and salad approximately 45. Did get extremely full on delicious bread. It was extremely fresh and hot out of the stuff. A little pricey. Very kid friendly. Overall I would come back.

I love this place! They have a great salad bar... tons of variety and always fresh. Each day they have two different soups to choose from on the bar. My favorites are the broccoli and cheese soup and the potato soup. I am also a huge fan of their pizza which is great because I do not typically love pizza. Steaks are pretty good, chicken tender fillets are delicious, and the spaghetti is great!

Goodness gracious. Maybe I was just particularly hungry, or I was really craving pizza that wasn't from a chain...but man. This was great. Greasy as all hell, but great flavor and texture. Wish I'd saved some for lunch the next day. Go here.

The service was fine, but the food we ordered was incredibly greasy. It was pretty good once we used a copious amount of napkins to dab it off.

This is where I discovered gyros. While I have had better ones in the years since, Gondola's gyros are perfectly passable, with an excellent tzatziki sauce. I believe the restaurant is or was owned by a Greek family, so it makes sense that the gyros here are good. :) Their chicken shish kebabs are AWESOME, and I love the marinade; it's some sort of tangy, lemony-garlicky concotion. While I've come close in trying to replicate it at home, I can never get it exactly. One day, Gondola's marinade, one day you will be mine! The pizza is pretty good, too. Definitely better than the chain pizzas (but I'm pretty sure you could dip cardboard in canned tomatoes and come up with something better than chain pizzas), but nothing really to write home about in my opinion. The sauce is good, kind of sweet, and the pizza is the thin kind that comes cut in squares. It's the shish kebab and the very fresh salad bar that keep me coming back. Things I -don't- like? Their fries are those big steak fries, and always kind of mushy. It is my understanding some deluded heathens prefer them this way. That's. . .actually all I can think of as far as things I don't like (out of what I've tried.) As for atmosphere, I've been going here since I was a wee little Crossvillian. The service is always polite and attentive, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of light, natural or otherwise, in the restaurant. Overall, this restaurant is a Crossville tradition. In a sea of McDonalds and Taco Bells, Gondola stands out in town with some unique fare.

A longstanding tradition in Crossville, Gondola is delicious. My favorites include the small sausage pizza and the meatball sandwich. On a completely unrelated topic, wonder why I can't lose this extra weight? ;).

I ate here one night with a few local friends when I first moved to town because they raved about how good the pizza was. I got a salad bar to start off with, and while the bar itself was well stocked, the selection was kind of "meh". A couple kinds of lettuce, basic veggies, and shredded american/cheddar cheese. Just "meh." Then, the pizza arrived. I was expecting something awesome because several people had mentioned to me how good their food was. I was majorly disappointed. It was really, really greasy, with minimal sauce, a load of low-quality cheese, a squishy crust, and not the best quality toppings. I tried one piece of pepperoni and one piece of supreme just to see if both were equal, and I was done. Didn't even take any home in the box, because I knew I wouldn't eat it. So, overall, major, major disappointment in the pizza, which is ironic because it's called Gondola PIZZA House. Might give it a second try because I hear the gyros are good, but NOT the pizza. Stick with Papa John's or Domino's if you're in Crossville and want a pizza. Service was friendly, though, so I give it two stars instead of one.

This place is a great local find. I had the pork shish kebabs which were great. My wife had the fettucine alfredo which was very tasty as well. The service was fast, and the food was great. They don't offer wine which would've really completed the dinner, but still it was a great experience.

The salad bar a pizzas are great, but the waitresses seem to have a major attitude. I guess that's just the way customer service is going these days. I long for the good old days when the customer was always right. I'll give them another chance for a familiy dinner next time we're going that way. Take care.

What more can I say about Gondola's then AMAZING!! The pizza is better than the ones I get in NYC and the salad bar is amazing as well. The small pizza is around $8 and $3.50 for the salad bar with it. While you share the pizza, get the salad bar with soup, fresh salads (which is well-stocked and tended to frequently), puddings, and desserts. Try it and you won't be disappointed! The place is always packed.
