This is the perfect example of why you shouldn't be afraid of strip mall sushi. This place is beautiful inside! I'm a fan of the blue lighting, newness of everything, and, of course, the FISH TANK! So tranquil. My eyes kept drifting over there throughout my meal. The service was impeccable, and why I'm leaning towards 4 stars...but I just wasn't that big of a fan of the food...my sashimi was just ok, and I didn't care for my chicken hibachi too much. My girlfriend's rolls, however, were phenomenal. I just ordered wrong. I have no doubt I'll bump my review up to a 4 next time I come and order correctly.

Well after all the uproar in Collierville over this new restaurant I had to go try it. It was pretty darn good. The mushroom soup is hit or miss...sometimes it is on point and others it isn;t...you basically need to request they stir the pot better before serving ti to you if you get one that isnt on point. I did not have the sushi although I have heard nothing but rave reviews on the freshness of it and how it is the best in the area now. I did have the hibachi scallops and filet mignon and my husband had the shrimp and sirloin. They prepare it in the back so don't go here expecting a show. But do go expecting great food! The sauces they offer are sublime. LOVE their sauce selection but a few favorites from other hibachi grills were missing. I was underwhelmed in the amount of veggies in my dinner but the steaks were cooked med-rare to perfection...hard to accomplish at these places! The scallops were also perfect...still creamy inside and seared on the outside. The rice was cooked well and service was very courteous. The decor is trendy and the fish tanks have a gorgeous variety of fish. The owner and cook were extremely accommodating and polite, notable: since this seems to be lacking in many restaurants now-a-days. OH...and get the fried banana puffs dessert... fabulous!!!! I would suggest requesting it served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to take it up a notch. Enjoy!!

We had very high hopes for this place, and could not wait to try it. Upon initial impressions, this looked like it was going to be great, but as the meal went on, we wound up leaving very disappointed. The décor is awesome; fish tanks, modern flair, very nice. However, our server was incredibly difficult to understand. She was awkward, and always around. Like- ALWAYS! She would ask us if everything was okay (I think that's what she asked) and we would say, "Yes, thank you." Normally, that's the cue to leave the area, but she would stand over us as we took another bite of food, swallowed, took a sip of water, etc... For a really long time. Until my husband said, "Do you need something?" Then she made a noise, like a chuckle or something, and walked away, only to repeat this scenario within ten minutes. Weird! We felt very rushed because of her behavior. She could not understand what we were trying to order, and eventually someone intervened and explained it to her. On to the food and beverages. They have wine glasses behind the counter, but do not serve wine. I never got an answer as to why they have them, then... Their beer selection is very limited. The crab is not real, but they present it on the menu as if it was. It should be spelled "Krab," with a "K" or otherwise noted as imitation. That always makes my husband mad. The miso soup was just broth. It must not have been stirred up enough prior to serving, because there was nothing in it. Like nothing. Except salt (and tons of that). I could not eat it (or rather, sip it). We ordered Ikura with a quail egg on top (yumm!!). Someone came out and explained that their quail eggs were not fresh, and did we still want it. Um, no... But they still brought it out (without the quail egg) and we had to argue with the awkward server to get it removed. The Spider Roll was ok, but had too much of a sweet sauce on it, way too much rice, and a scant amount of crab. The Dynamite Roll was about the only good thing we ordered. It had just enough heat, and was very tasty. Salmon sashimi was good- standard. But the kids Hitachi chicken was tough. The veggies that came with it were drenched in a sweet sauce. My daughter didn't care for either. Overall, I think it might have potential, but, sadly, we won't be returning to find out.

Nice atmosphere, and a huge improvement on the space from the last restaurant in that spot. Service was great - the server and hosts could not have been nicer, and we left to a chorus of "thank you" and "have a great night" and "come back to see us." The food was delicious, and the Fantastic Roll is aptly named. Will definitely go back.

This place is fantastic which is actually the name of a great roll here. I suggest you fast for no less than 12 hours before you visit. That way you can try more items. The lunch prices are great and can get you in and out within an hour. A must try in collierville

I've been there twice, once for dinner and REALLY REALLY good sushi! My friends at the table raved about the hibachi, but they don't cook it in front of you. They bring it out from the back. I visited again for lunch a couple of weeks ago and the lunch special was really good, Miso and small salad included and right price and amount for lunch. The service is really great. VERY friendly and that is rare. Both times the food and service great and now I know why everyone is talking about this place.

Looking for a place to eat after church and ended up at Iron Chef because first choice was too crowded. So glad it happened! Service was great, food was delicious, and ambiance was perfect. Loved the fish tanks! We will be back Iron Chef!

Was looking forward to trying Iron Chef but unfortunately this is a one and done experience. The decor is very nice inside and has a nice contemporary vibe. We tried the bagel, volcano, snow mountain, and amazing rolls. The server asked if one plate was fine for the rolls. After we said yes, she proceeded to bring us one roll at a time after we finished each roll. They got progressively worse in the order I listed them above. The specialty rolls were priced comparably to other restaurants but they were the size of a normal California roll. Usually we cannot finish 4 rolls but we left hungry after having a $50 check. The server was very inexperienced as well. Hopefully they'll work out the kinks.

I really like this place and the atmosphere. The fried rice needs a little work but the sushi is phenomenal.

Excellent Service. Beautiful Presentation. Delicious Food. Great Atmosphere. Happy Customers!

Hands down the best sushi place in Shelby County. The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. The food is even better. Today, they had a live scallop. They prepared it two ways and both were fantastic. It was the best scallop I've ever had. The chefs and staff were very knowledgable. The presentation of the food and sushi rolls is fantastic. This is the first restaurant in Collierville, TN that I have felt worthy to yelp.

Excellent sushi. Their Hibachi lunch specials are great. The service was excellent. The restaurant is brand new. Great decor . I liked the aquariums. I put "Not Sure" on Good for kids. For me, kids don't belong in restaurants. I put "Average" noise level because the restaurant was not very crowded. Overall...highly rated.

First time there and the food was very good. Very fast service and attentative. Will be coming back!

LOVE this place! Don't let the exterior fool you. Freshest sushi for miles. So good we hardly talked. The decor inside is very easy on the eyes. DELICIOUS! Will go back every chance we get

Excellent sushi! The food looked good and tasted even better. Service was excellent. I was impressed. Desserts were okay.

Just opened! Excellent service. Miso soup was one of the best I've had in a long time. Large sushi selection with fantastic special rolls. Very well presented and very fresh tasting. They don't currently have liquor license for a few weeks though. Will definitely return and try some of the grill items.

Make it was new restaurant stuff to work out but our lunch here was "meh". I tried a noodle bowl that was really bad. The sushi was decent. Hopefully they will get it together. The place looked very nice inside.

We really enjoyed lunch there today. The menu is very affordable and the service was great. The restaurant was clean and very nice.

Beautiful decor, they've really done a great job redecorating. Not what you'd expect from a strip mall! Huge fish tank, modern decor and very clean. The service was excellent and food served in a reasonable amount of time. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Highly recommend!

I've ate here twice since they've opened, once on a Sunday and today on a Wednesday. Service is slow whether it's busy or slow. The waitstaff needs to be more attentive and check back with customers. I had the Hibachi chicken it was good but barely warm. Today I had the snow-crab roll-it tasted like mayonnaise and the salmon and avocado roll which was just plain salmon and avocado no sauce was kinda bland. I also had the shrimp tempura roll- it was very good. I'd say if you want sushi go elsewhere Osaka or Fuji in Collierville. The lunch specials are very affordable-dinner is more expensive. Overall, I'm giving 3 stars the sushi needs some love and the wait staff needs to step it up.

Delicious. We went on a Thursday evening and were surprised that the restaurant wasn't more crowded. We ordered two kinds of sushi, tempura shrimp, and hibachi salmon. The entrees come with soup (choice of two), salad and veggies. The Miso soup is wonderful. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Nice ambiance as well.

REMINDER TO SELF: TRY THE SUSHI AND HIBACHI! Ok, so I came in here with a friend intending to try the sushi but was lured in by the reasonable lunch prices into trying a bento box instead. I mean, it had so much in it that I wanted to try, like the Shumai, Seaweed Salad, Fried Rice, and Miso Soup. It sounded like such a fantastical idea both my friend and I went for it. Luckily, even though the menu says otherwise, they do their lunch specials on Sunday (until 2:30!). Also luckily, they were willing to let us sub out the California rolls for some stuff close in price (with us being charged if it cost more than the Cali roll- fine by us!). I got a Pork Katsu Bento Box and my friend got the Chicken Tempura Bento Box. We each ordered the soups, salads, sushi we wanted and got back to having fun. It was pretty empty for after-church lunch hour but I'm sure it was more active at night. I was really impressed with the fact that they had a ton of Vegetarian Options because I have so many veggie-only friends that it just makes life nice knowing I can take them there. Anywho, we both loved our salads. The seaweed salad has cucumber underneath it which helps break up the the consistency of the otherwise chewy and stringy seaweed. I used my chopsticks to eat it and would get a clump of seaweed and a piece of cucumber in one go. I liked that because it helped me set a pace for myself. Just seaweed gets a little tedious on the jaw. My friend got the ginger salad (I forgot to check the menu and see if it's called Ginger Salad or House Salad here) and we both agreed it was fantastical. They really got their dressing down here. She wasn't as fond of her Clear Soup though I liked it. It had a distinctly unique taste to it that wasn't JUST chicken broth and didn't taste like soy sauce just thrown in. I'm not sure what they added but I liked it and will get it here next time. I wasn't impressed with my Miso Soup at all. Tasted like it came from a box. When we got our main courses... things started to fall flat. To be honest, the meal just didn't have the bold flavors we usually associate with Japanese food. The Fried Rice was bland, the rolls we chose were bland, and the main courses we had gotten were bland. Not terrible, not inedible, just bland. Not worth taking home and neither of us got a to-go box. All in all, I would come back but I am a little hesitant to try the hibachi since the fried rice was pretty much flavorless. I would like to try some sushi though! To Try: - Sushi Liked: - Clear Soup (get instead of Miso) - Ginger Salad (worth getting!) - Seaweed Salad - Shumai Ok: - Chicken Tempura Roll - Sweet Potato Roll Disliked: - Chicken Tempura - Fried Rice - Miso Soup - Pork Katsu

I tried this place out with my family last week. Decor was nice, Service was good, Food was fair. My daughter got a tempura lunch special and thought it was on par with similar offerings by other local Japanese restaurants. We all found the sushi to be mediocre.
(3)Konrad D.
The service was ok but unfortunately our food was terrible not to mention the tempura cheesecake was still frozen inside.

Great food! Great hibachi and sushi. Kids loved the kids' hibachi and tempura banana dessert. Staff very attentive. Great addition to Colliervile!
(5)Chris A.
The wait staff was ok. Despite having a menu for beer, I was informed after we were seated that they don't serve beer yet. Maybe next month I was told. The sushi was ok. Not as good as Fuji. I had Hibachi chicken. Rice and vegetable were not good. Chicken was dry and over cooked. Soup was good. Salad was good. They are new so not sure about a return yet

The decor is great. The staff is outstanding. I had the tropical tuna roll. Wow delicious. seafood udon big bowl my own flavor I added chili powder that they have at the table I like it hot. It was great also. I can't wait to come back. I think I'll try and bring my wife tomorrow night. The presentation of the food is very inviting. I have no problem giving this place 5 stars. you have got to try it.

Had a great experience at Iron Chef! All of the staff was VERY nice and the atmosphere is great. They have a huge fish tank in the middle of the restaurant which was very cool. The food was excellent and fairly priced. We had the hibachi shrimp and some sushi. Really hope this place can get some business and stick around the Collierville area.
