So glad they have a dyers out in collierville now! It has a different atmosphere than the one downtown. The one in collierville has a homey feeling whereas the one downtown is more of a diner type. I had the Memphis blues burger and it was delish! The service was a bit slow but the staff was very friendly. Definitely will be returning!

love the burgers but absolutely HATE the SERVICE ! does it really absolutely take 20 minutes to take a drink order especially when there are only 20 tables to be wated on

First timer today. Like others, tried it due to the reputation. Had an old fashion burger and fries. Beat the standard franchise burger joints for sure. Nice location across from the park in Collierville. Needed the walk around the square after lunch.

Let me start by saying that the food at dyers is really good. That being said, the service and attitude of the staff needs to be worked on. It took a really long time for our food to come and when it did two people in our group had their orders messed up. I love dyers burgers but they def need to work on their customer service

Over rated. The fries were cold ,my wife ordered a cheese burger, came with out cheese.the place wasn't busy ,yet had to ask for more ice tea .didnt think burger was that great.

Great burgers, hotdogs, tamales, fries, chili, fried pickles. Fast service and so friendly. They stayed open later so my family could eat as we got in town.

The address for Dyer's in Collierville is incorrect. They are no longer located on Hwy 72, but have moved to the Collierville Town square next to Hewlitt & Dunn on Center St.

Let me begin by saying that Dyer's has a really good burger. If you're looking for an old-fashioned, "dressed" burger with fries and shake, you'll definitely enjoy it. This was my first visit to a Dyer's. If Yelp allowed it, I would have rated them 3 1/2 stars instead of 3. While the food was good, I failed to experience the "wow" as built up by the hype I've heard over the years. I did not notice that the meat had any special taste or quality due to being deep-fried in oil that's never changed. I had the Triple Triple and would liken it's size and taste to a double from Wendy's. The fries were also Wendy's-like. Ten bucks for the burger, fries, and soda. Still, it's a great burger, just not the "outstanding" I'd hoped for.....for which I'd hoped.....for.

I love the Dyer's burger. Double-double with everything minus tomato. Yum. A finalist for last meal on Earth. Today's was also delish...just a little chillier than normal. Here's why... Today, the kitchen just wasn't in synch. We called for take out. They made the order for dine-in. Tick-tock. They remedied it and got it packed. They even went so far as to tell me which burger was in the top box and which was in the bottom. Nice touch. An order that was supposed to be ready in 10 minutes took 25. I don't want to see this place get a bad rap, 'cuz I love it so much. But c'mon man. Get it together. So, three stars today. Will visit again soon to prove this was a one-time-only occurrence.

Nice little burger joint. Once we got our burgers, the food was really good. We had to wait though because the delivery truck didn't show yet with potatoes for fries and they were out of straws. Management needs to reevaluate their inventory / ordering processes / vendors if they can't keep basics in the restaurant. Deep fried pickles were good. All items are a la cart which makes it at least 10 to 12 dollars easily per person. They need to train the wait staff to not count their tip in front of the patrons as I feel it is rude. Because the food was good, I still rate it 4 stars.

It seems like every time I go to Dyer's Cafe I'm impressed by one thing, and not impressed by another. The last time we went I had a great burger, but the wings my companion ordered came out with some sort of dipping sauce that was totally unidentifiable. Was it ranch? Was it blu-cheese? It was just white and bland. Burger, fries, and shakes are reliably good, so I'd say stick to those items. Venturing into the rest of the menu seems to be a bit like rolling the dice.

Very good burgers and milkshakes...plus it's on the square. The one thing that would make it better is for more consistency in servers. Clarence is great, but you need to ask for him. If he's not there, you will get good service...but other servers lack in personality. Frequent customers.

I just don't get it. There's nothing wrong with the burgers per say but they taste an awful lot like what I could get at steak and shake - with fries mind you for $5. Here it's $6.50 plus and additional $2.25 for fries. The interior is cool though, very old timey small town feel which is cool and the waitress was incredibly nice. The menu is pretty limited, I get it, but if you come with a group make sure everyone in actually in the mood for burgers.

This is the perfect spot for Dyer's! While it would be a bit cramped I am sure during certain hours, I love the quaint little dining area. The server voiced that she was overwhelmed, even though she only had 3 or 4 tables. Still our drinks and food arrived promptly. I ordered the chili cheese split hot dog and fries. 4 hot dogs and chili and I ate all but two bites!!! It was such a guilty pleasure. I mean who even knows what is in any given hot dog? This sandwich will make you not care. The snap of a perfectly cooked hot dog is a glorious thing :) Oh and the fries were divine.

Great little burger spot in the square. And where else can you get a pro MMA fighter as your waiter? Love the onion rings because they put plenty of pepper in the batter and they are always fried to crispy perfection. Dipping them in some homemade ranch is what I recommend. My favorite burger is the Southwest. Double patty on a soft bun, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño and mild green chiles. Yeah, I like it spicy and this doesn't disappoint at all. I have never been able to finish a whole one but I keep trying. With the original brick walls and tin ceiling, they have kept the vintage old square feel. Be warned, they have one unisex bathroom, so make sure you knock first and when it's your turn, secure the door well.

This was my first first. I have to say this place is great. I had the burger and my wife had the hotdog with chili. Of course I did try the hotdog. It was so good. I am thinking that is what I will get the next time I go. The hamburger was excellent. The restaurant is small. But it didn't take long to get a seat. I highly recommend this place.

Great burger. I love a good burger with bacon, pepper jack cheese and BBQ sauce (sweet baby rays) and Dyers dose it right. It's not a super thick burger so it's has those crips pieces around the edge. So good. The fries are hand cut and those are my favorite. The service was great. This is definitely my new favorite burger.
(5)David H.
Once again a great trip to Dyer's Cafe. We were here between lunch and diner on a Saturday and there was hardly a crowd at all. The service was wonderful and we had some fun conversation with our waiter. The food once again was outstanding, so much so that we actually got our own burgers this time rather than share. I highly suggest the Southwest Chipotle Burger, it is out of this world if you can take things a little spicy.
(5)Ross W.
A lot of reviews talk about slow/poor service and there's certainly truth in that. The food is every bit as good as expected. I had the chipotle burger and cheese fries. Topped off with a chocolate shake it was a perfect diner spread. The food was spot on. If your in a hurry or have hungry children, come back when you can be patient and enjoy the company of friends and family. If you've got a minute to slow down and take a step back, grab a burger here.
(4)Chris C.
Came back here recently and unfortunately things aren't going so well despite the nice new location. The prices seem to have gone up without a corresponding increase in quality. The burger bun was kind of gross--a bit stale, a bit just plain bad quality bread--and the burger itself was sad looking. The onion rings were extremely thin and not very flavorful. I couldn't help but compare this to Huey's, where I had dined just recently, and Huey's did the burger and onion rings much better. Service was a bit distracted too. Although fairly quick in getting the food out, it took awhile to get the bill. I liked the building it's in (although it's a bit cramped).

Walked in this place because I heard the burgers were good. There were two other tables eating already. I walked up to the counter to ask if the server comes to the table or do we just order at the counter. The young lady confused said: " whaaaaaat?". I asked again and she was able to mumble that they would come to the table. At this point two other parties walked in. Everyone was ignored for about 5 minutes. No hello, no we'll be right with you. All the employees were in the back. The "lost" waitress came out to grab plates off other table but didn't acknowledge anyone. After waiting for about 15 minutes a lady from the other party stood up and was telling the "lost" Young lady that they had tried to order twice and nobody had acknowledged them. Mind you this place is the size of a shoe box. You really would have to try you hardest to ignore someone, however the staff was doing it to perfection. At this point I walked out and told the other patrons coming in not to bother. Didn't even get to try anything. This is the worst customer service experience I have had in a long time.

You can't beat a dyers burger. That is a given. I would rate them 5 star on the food alone but I'm going to hold back due to service. It is a tad lacking even if it is with a smile. Great people but I think they just need one more set of hands. Then little things might not get missed and you would have time to ask if your guests need anything else occasionally. Other than that, the best burgers in all of Memphis. Not the healthiest lol but the BEST!
(4)Curtis T.
Great service and great burgers. My wife had the strawberry shake and it was excellent.

Southwest Chipotle Burger... Almost $8.00 with tax. Worth the price? Yes and No. If it included fries or onion rings, yes - maybe. As served a la carte, no. It was a little on the small side for a $8 burger. A little too greasy, served about 30 seconds after the waitress took my order. That means the meat patty was already cooked and probably sitting in a heated container... hence the grease. Hardee's serves a better premium burger for less. And it includes fries. The place is clean, and staff friendly. If you're hungry for the Greazy Spoone burger, eat here. You won't be disappointed.

I tried to order over the phone but no one answers, I then drove over and went to the cashier to order, I was standing for 15 minutes and 4 employees,2 ladies and 2 men, did not even acknowledge that I was even there, there was gentlemen in front of me and all he was getting was a drink but even that took forever for them to get. The place was practically empty, So my review is just about the customer service because I didn't even try a burger, so I went to Huey's way better service!!! So go to Dyers if you want but expect the worst customer service!!

What a diner-style cheeseburger and fries should be.

It has been said that I enjoy the finer things in life. This is true. That being said, I would also point out that a burger fried in super old grease can also be one of those finer things, if done properly. Dyer's does it properly. We started out with some of the best fried pickles I have ever had in my life. Truly, I get these things wherever I go but Dyer's hit a home run with the breading, perfect seasoning, and a glorious ranch for dipping. My friends both got bacon cheeseburgers, with which they were very pleased. I was, however, determined to be in 'review mode' and try out the Filthy Diablo, which I have not had in over a decade... It was amazing, but too much. Way too much. Meat, cheese, smoked sausage, meat, cheese, smoked sausage, meat, cheese... I am not exaggerating! This thing is so big and juicy and delicious that while you may not defeat it, you will at least feel good about the experience. I managed to finish the filthy diablo, although I did eat the last smoked sausage portion separately. Since I feel like this review is all over the place, allow me to summarize: perfect fried pickles, juicy and succulent burger, melty cheese, snappy and savory sausage, excellent sweet tea. In short, a superb experience. Why, then, is this not a five star review? The service was pretty bad. It was worth it, though.

Love the food, great service, and the owner will personally greet customers and serve the tables whenever he is there. One of our favorite places to eat!!
(5)Stanley Z.
5 stars because it is exactly as advertised. This is a cute little place in the square. Although they have a few other menu items, consider it a burger & fries place. Burgers are the way it used to be - the thin ones fried up on the griddle .... Still tasty and the roll/bun is very good. Service was excellent and the place is very clean. So if you read bad reviews either it must have been a rare off day or the person who wrote it was hard to please!
(5)Clinton S.
If only we had got our food sooner I would have given three or maybe four stars, but an hour and 30 minutes to get two burgers and fries seems a little excessive! The waitress was very pleasant when we sat outside because the restaurant was packed inside, and took our orders quickly. She answered our questions in a way that told you she'd heard our questions numerous times before. Then we waited....and waited....and waited....I kid you not, it was well over 1.5 hours just to get our food, which by that time we were so hungry ("hangry") we wolfed it down in minutes. My wife got the traditional two patty burger and I got the bacon burger, and we got one order of the fries. You could tell the meat was special and the way the burgers were prepared was excellent, but did I tell you it took 1.5 hours to get our food! I will say that the waitress "discounted" our bill, but by the time we got our bill we were so ready to leave it really didn't matter - it was the right thing to do, and I appreciated the effort - but I certainly won't be going by to Dyer's anytime soon. [Just FYI, we got to Dyer's at 12:30PM on Saturday, so maybe that accounts for the delay, but if you're out for a burger in the Collierville area at 12:30 PM on a Saturday - go somewhere else!!!]
(2)Melissa R.
Walked in and all the tables have dirty dishes on them. What happened to customer service? First of all, when you bring out food you DONT EVER stack plates directly on each other, next was my food was cold and not anything special. I ask for ketchup and she looked at me like I just broke the bank. Won't go back!!!!
(1)Robin Z.
DON'T waste your time....this place is TERRIBLE....the service...not so good.....food....cold bland....for the prices you can find better.......take your business somewhere else
(1)Mike S.
Visited on a Sunday night and the place was empty. The menus have been updated and actually have pictures now. The staff was very friendly but not very knowledgable of the menu. I would rate the food, but after placing my order the waitress returned to the table and told us they had a shortage of hot dogs. I could have one for my order which contained two hot dogs or they could make my kids meals. How do you list hot dogs and burgers as your main menu items and run out of hot dogs? Is Waffle House running out of waffles now? The other reviews are not that great and I would agree. They are to high on the price for the quality. I will stick to Huey's going forward. Don't waste the gas to drive downtown.
(1)Irene R.
It's a nice atmosphere with inexpensive prices. I just wasn't very impressed with the food. I'll probably try it again because I'm hoping I just went on a bad night.
(3)Katie K.
I wanted to like this place since it's on the square but it's not the best. I was disappointed in the bland cheeseburger and fries. Way overpriced for what I paid for. I understand they are known for their burgers but maybe vamping up the menu and adding more would be a good Option for them since the burgers are kind of simple.
(2)Wright C.
Great supper tonight. Had burgers and onion rings that were out of site! Ran into Collierville Mayor Stan Joyner and his wife Linda. Make your next trip to the Collierville Square and stop by at Dyer's!!
(4)William W.
The burgers are great, but I've had mixed results with the service. Last time we went the buns were kinda stale and were ice cold like they came out of the fridge, kinda ruined what would have otherwise been a great burger.
(3)Chris Z.
Had this place today with the wife and I. If it's cold outside like today, bring a heavy coat. It was in the lower 30's and may have been a degree higher then outside. The food was bland. I had the docs club, I've had better. The wife has some fries with slop on top. Don't think I'll be eating there again. The atmosphere is pretty boring too. I will say that bathroom was really clean.
(2)Christian S.
It's no Dyer's on Beale but it's still a nice little place to get a great burger. Service was great and friendly. Didn't take long to get food. Definitely recommend for a nice lunch.
