I eat there everyday almost and have never been disappointed. BBQ is to die for and the Catfish on Friday's is amazing....But I just tired the ribs for first time and I've got to say...they are great as well. I'm never disappointed with the quality of food and service here. Thank you!!!

I was looking for a breakfast spot and decided to give them a try. For 5.99 you get your choice of sausage, bacon or ham, two eggs cooked the way you want, hash brown and 2biscuits or toast. Breakfast begins at 8 and is over at 10:30. I'll start with what I liked the most I came on at 10:15 and was able to get a hot breakfast....the biscuits melt in your mouth they are delicious!!! I went with sausage and scrambled eggs, fair, won't complain but nothing spectacular. I ordered a BBQ sandwich to go for my husband, just because its a BBQ joint and he loves a good que sandwich. I'll update my post later with his taste review later. Overall not a bad place. It wasn't packed on a Saturday morning people mainly came in for to go orders. There is plenty if room to sit and enjoy your meal....however it's kind of chilly on the inside. The food was hot and served in good time.

I was set to go to an Indian place but my coworker suggested BBQ. I am ALWAYS up for BBQ, but I was afraid that a BBQ place named Captain Johns would suck... for seafood yes... but BBQ? I ordered the special which was a pork platter. A splatter of BBQ with a healthy topping of sauce, bun on the side and choice of three sides...I chose coleslaw, potato salad and onions rings. Rings were super hot fresh out the fryer. BBQ was good and better as a sandwich, cole slaw had honey mustard in it, the way I like it. For $8 something its a helluva deal, and delicious. As an added bonus the music being played isnt country, but motown oldies. Thank you for sparing my ears! Place looks family owned and had nice good service, ignore the comments about the sweet tea being too sweet. These people must not be true southerners. I haven't had a decent sweet tea since I left Alabama days ago, this place supplied it!

Had a really good breakfast on the way to the lake. The bacon was crispy with a feat flavor and the biscuits and gravy were good. The ladies working were very friendly and the food was all made to order and fresh. Will definitely be back again for breakfast. It has been years since I've had their BBQ but I remember it being good too.

This place has been around forever. It kind of looks like a dive and is in the sketchiest place in Collierville but do not let that deter you from trying it. The bbq is really good and comes close to Tops BBQ in taste and texture. I also like their slaw and bbq sauce that comes on it. Their hamburgers are really good too. It is reasonably priced too.

What stands out is the decor, which is similar to Top's BBQ. The BBQ sandwich is satisfactory in all major components (e.g. bread, meat, slaw, and rub), however, there is nothing that particularly stands out.

Try a turkey leg.

The BBQ is okay, but the catfish on Fridays is to die for. It had a weird flavor the first time I got it (I've called catfish "cinnamon-y" on more than one occasion), but I liked enough to keep getting it, and now it is by far the best catfish I've ever had. The fries are crispy too! Just ate there today, and when we received our food, it was too hot to touch! Awesome. The tea is WAY too sweet, but it's easy to make it half sweet and half unsweet. The burgers are fantastic too!

First time there tonight, it was catfish night (Friday), it was awesome, also had the pulled pork, also very good. Nice friendly atmosphere, high marks from me.

I've been eating at this place since 1993 when my first computer store was just across the street. They never disappoint with Memphis BBQ done right. The people are always nice, the place is clean, not fancy, not pricey, just good BBQ.

I had the jumbo sandwich with slaw, onion rings, fries and an Arnold Palmer. The BBQ was typical of Memphis BBQ but the sauce earned the four stars. Service wasn't bad and the place was very clean. The sweet tea musta been made with a pound of sugar, I had to water it down with about a third of a cup of lemonade.

Captain John's is probably the best BBQ in Collierville, TN. The jumbo sandwich plate is a great value and some great BBQ.
