Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Tres is our favorite local Mexican restaurant. The food is great, for the price, and the staff is always friendly. Great environment and they have a patio for summer evenings.

Best Mexican food in town. The only downfall of this restaurant (and the ONLY reason I couldn't give it 5 stars) is the service. It's hit or miss with good service here. Sometimes it's above average, while other times its well below average. Pollo loco is delicious. But the best meal here is the fajita nachos. Chicken and/or beef with bell pepper, grilled onions, cheese, flour tortilla chips. Amazing.

Okay. let me start by saying that I've had tons' of good mexican around this area but this one really was very disappointing. I'm not sure what to say went wrong but a number of things to note. I did go on a Friday during the lunch hour. The place wasn't to crowded but had good size crowds in all of the areas. My Order: 1 .Steak and Chicken Fajitas - (ordered by wife) There was a few pieces of steak. Lot more chicken but even the chicken was bare. Lots of peppers and onions. THe food was brought out on the skillet but the taste and quality was very poor. 2. Ordered - STEAK AND CHICKEN Tacos (3 pieces) - This was the worst put taco with no cheese. No lettuce and some little bowl of some topping. I've had tacos before but this was just awful. And then to have pay close to $8. was a bit much. 3. Salsa - The red sauce looked just like canned tomato saunce but did have a salsa taste. Certainly didn't have the chunky or look of a salsa. I could have bought some salsa from Walmart and put it on the table and it would have looked and probably tasted better. Finally, The prices are NOT CHEAP.. In my opinion the folks saying this is cheap really haven't had good mexican. I was asked a few times how was everything. I told the man when paying at the front desk that I was not okay. His response.. I think is because he simply wasn't paying attention was .. "Oh Okay" Please don't consider this mexican place compared to the many other places this city has to offer. AVOID!

I judge Mexican places on their version of the ChimmiConga. This place did not have a delicious one. All the food was good but we all agreed there are better places.

The best part was friendly service. The food was terrible. Bland and dry chicken. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce from a can. The only thing I enjoyed was the fresh guacamole...which you have to special order for 7 dollars!

Go on Tuesdays. 75 cent tacos. Great for college kids to have a cheap meal.

Fast and inexpensive Mexican food. I go there often and they always are willing to customize the orders - I ask for very hot peppers instead of green peppers.

Most Mexican restaurants are all the same and my order never vary far from grilled chicken, rice and queso (something they call pollo loco here in Southeast Tennessee -- try ordering that elsewhere and you get confused looks). Tres Hermanos is no different...until you try their chicken chimichanga! I had been here several times and a friend convinced me to try the chicken chimichanga. Wow! It was so good that I have tried it elsewhere. (Don't make that mistake). I have introduced three friends to this dish and all three thanked me. If you visit Tres Hermanos, do yourself a favor and order as I suggest.

We came back to this restaurant again on 2/15/15. The food was still as good as the last time we were here. My wife again had the #8 Combination meal and I had the #6 Combination meal. The #6 is an Beef Enchilada, Mexican Rice & Beans with a Beef Taco on a separate plate. We also ordered some Cheese Sauce to go with our chips as the appetizer. Again, everything was delicious. I have included pictures with this review update.

I wish I could give them 4.5 stars. We ate there today and all four of us really liked our meals. I had the tilapia covered with chipotle cream dish and it was great. I've never seen a similar dish on other menus. My vegetarian wife had the vegetable enchiladas and said they were the best she's ever had. Great service, friendly staff.

Not sure how to rate this one. Looking for vegetarian and vegan options in Cleveland and we liked the name, so what the hell. Service was very good. Atmosphere was middle of the road. All fine. We were quickly brought chips and salsa. And I am used to real chips and real salsa. The salsa here was more something in between ketchup and cocktail sauce. Kind of interesting. But not really a salsa. Keep in mind.. I grew up next to the border in San Diego (I walked to Mexico) so I am biased. We ordered the veggie burrito and the veggie enchilada. We asked to not have cheese on these, which was not a problem. We also ordered a bean and cheese burrito to go for the MIL.I was surprised to see cheese melted over the burrito as compared to being mixed in the beans. Later she reported it was not very good. But she also likes Taco Bell a lot. So who knows? The veggie stuff was great. Very smoky and tasty flavored onions, green peppers. We liked the enchilada more as the corn tortilla stands up better than the flour used in the burrito. The flour was getting soggy so turning into more of a paste. Still tasty though. The guacamole also was like the salsa.. sort of a green sauce... not really guac like I am used to with chunks of avocado, onion and tomato. The price for all that with a drink and a Negra Modello beer? $25. That is crazy cheap.

This has always been my go to Mexican restaurant. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The service is great and quick.

I base my reviews on Mexican restaurants by how good their tacos are and whether combo dinners are available. I got the no. 3 combo which included a taco, enchilada and chile rellino. It was great and I would come back again. Also, service was fast food was great. I left happy as my appetite for Mexican was resolved.

Been here a couple of times and was pleased both times. Tried the Camarones mojo de ajo this last time and it was real good, alot of flavor. Portions are big and not a bad price. Service was great and friendly.

The Food is good for a Mexican Restaurant in TN. The Refried beans =SALTY but besides that it was pretty good! Its pretty busy so people like it.

This place is a regular for us! It's within walking distance from our house, which is nice because you can walk off all of those calories. The staff are always really nice and enthusiastic and we've ended up being on a first name basis with a few of them. It's ALWAYS busy and the locals really like it here...especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Although it's really busy, you will never have to wait very long for a table (if you have to wait at all). Great prices and selections. I'm a vegetarian and there are plenty of options. The vegetables are always really fresh. You can really pig out for less than $10 per person.

Good cheap Mexican food. Fast, Friendly service. If you're looking for a full plate of food for less than $7, this is one of the best options around.

You can leave with a full belly for not a lot of money here. They have an extensive menu, although everything kind of tasted the same. Big cheap beers and margaritas that taste like sugary mix rather than like fresh ingredients. Lousy service.
