It's cheap, serves burgers, fries, milkshakes and is open all night...I like it.

I need to come here more often. I like this restaurant. It has a 50"s and 60"s setting plus they play music from that era too. I recommend coming in here after 2pm because they are way too busy for lunch. Even at 1pm they are busy. But it looks like it lightens up around 2. menu items ordered: cheeseburger, French fries and a coke. The cheeseburger was great and just the right size I think. It's was very tasty with lots of cheese. It came all American with pickle, lettuce, tomato. 0nion, mayonnaise, and mustard. The French fries were thin but good. My waitress was great.

Food is ok. Price isn't horrible. BUT, the service and wait times are extremely long. After being seated, we waited 15 minutes for the waiter. We then waited 30 plus minutes on our food. So, nearly an hour from being seated to receiving our food. That alone makes this location a pass in my book.

Food is great if you can actually get service. Typically I always get pretty bad service here (slow, no refills, etc.). Went about 10pm on a Tuesday night and it was pretty busy. It took us 5 minutes to get seated, all the servers were chit chatting in the server station. There was a man waiting to pay to. After we finally got seated we never saw a waitress although plenty walked by and one even cleaned a table right next to us. There was a couple who had been sitting there since we came in and still didn't have drinks. And no one had food, the only people who had finished eating were raising their hands for their check. It seems like the servers just want to hide in the service station and ignore customers, they really don't seem to care at all. After waiting we just left and went to Applebee's where we got seated immediately.

Terrible from the moment we was seated. The service was friendly, well at least our waitress was. The rest of the staff, not so pleasant. I received the wrong burger, handwritten on order correctly... Typed in wrongly. After my son and wife finished their food my correct order finally came. The fried onion strips were barely cooked and half of my fries were still ice cold and/or frozen. Needless to say I didn't feel like waiting til closing time to get a shake (probably wrong). So I paid or at least stood at the cashier counter by myself for 10mins listening to staff shoot the breeze with a regular customer and receiving blank stares from the other staff corralling in the corner like the up-ity parading charade socialites from "The Great Gatsby". So, in lieu of these actions... My business will continue elsewhere.

Service very slow, never got refill on drink. Took over hour for lunch store not full. Kids like shakes, poor service not worth a stop. Suggest you skip this store.

Delicious stop on our trip to Atlanta. The steak and shake (single) burger and fries were as good as I've had anywhere. So glad I got the mint chocolate chip junior shake. Heavenly flavor and very reasonably priced.

I have been looking for a burger joint that would compare to Whataburger in Texas. The price is close. The burger was darned good. Not quite as good, but good. I didnt like the shoestring potatoes. But that's just my preference. Iced tea costs less than a soda. So I will keep that I mind. Im told their shakes are good. Will try that the next time. Price for two was around $11. Ate there yesterday, March 12, 2014.

The food is good when it finally gets to your table, if it doesn't have any hair in it. If you are eating alone you should allow an hour for service, good luck if you have a large group.

Been here twice since last review, once through the Drive Thru. Three cars waiting for order but it went very quick. Certainly great for lunch lines and speed. My visit inside was just as good. Quick order and food served. Glad we have this place in Cleveland.

This steak n Shake has very slow service. Every time i go in there, it takes an unnecessarily long time for my waiter to first come to my table and then a long time for the food to be made...and not to mention the bill comes delayed as well.

I went to the drive thru on the way to my granny's house and got a burger with my brother. We really got it more to allow our ladies (my wife and his gf) to reminisce with us for our college years. I can say that it was very much the same gut plugging (get your mind out of the gutter!!!) mess that I remembered it as. Think of it as a CIED - a Culinary Improvised Excrement-blocking Device. I think now that I'm in my 30s, I'm going to have to steer clear of the place. The only reason it got two stars from me is because the shakes are still rather tasty - nice and thick. One of those drinks you can't really get through the straw. I guess some folks would consider that a work out...but I think you'd have better luck sucking the chrome off of a bumper before you get the shake out. Damn if it's not tasty though.

One of the worst experiences at a restaurant I've had. First there must have been 10 people chain-smoking in there. My waitress screwed up my order three times. She didn't bring me my shake, brought my burger plain when I didn't ask for it and didn't bring the salad. The burger was overcooked and looked like it would clog my colon if I ate it. The shake tasted like it came from a mix. And the salad was horrible! A couple of pieces of iceberg lettuce and a vastly underripe tomato slice. For a place that calls itself "Steak & Shake" they could do neither right. The need to either just give up and go out of business or go eat at a Braum's and see how it's done.

looks like others had bad experiences and it certainly isn't a place you should eat too often as their burgers are served with an extra side of grease. they have a 50's diner feel and are generally pretty fast with the service, though the friendliness can get spotty. favorite meal is the frisco melt and fries...OUTSTANDING of course, if you're trying for the first time you gotta get a shake, they are delicious, but I steer clear now that i'm trying to be at least a little healthy...
