India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.

I guess you never forget your first Indian restaurant. Well, first Indian restaurant where you weren't incredibly skeeved out. The food is pretty tasty, but if you get anything hotter than medium, you're asking for it. I've actually watched my friend's head giving off steam. In that case, I reccommend the sweet lassi, it's a yogurt drink that helps cool your mouth off between bites. Try the flying horse beer, it's got a light laager flavor that goes very well with the rice and meat dishes. The lunch buffet rocks, but I'll usually put myself into a food coma after 4 or 5 trips up there. As for the claim of being 'the most romantic restaurant in Clarksville': to my 6'3" husband's eternal credit, he always agrees to sit at the low traditional style tables because he knows I like them. He'll shift his legs around about 30 times during dinner, and then I'll feel bad and next time we come, I'll offer to sit at the American style tables with chairs, but he always says he doesn't mind the floor tables. If marriage is about compromise, then it is the most romantic restaurant in Clarksville.

Constantly, time and time again, i am impressed and extremely satisfied. The chicken tikka masala is by far the best chicken and indian sauce i've ever tasted AND i'm indian so i have some street cred. The sauce is spicy and a conglomeration of curry spices and flavors that literally make your mouth water. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I also recommend the garlic naan (so delicious, you could eat only that) and the pakora! Its a crispy appetizer enough for 2-3 people. The samosa are two big samosas so don't think there's gonna be a lot of it for everyone you go with - a little over priced too. The whole place is really, but can you blame them? You get a bowl of rice with each bowl of food! I've eaten the chicken tikka masala (*****), the goan (****), banging' bertha(***) and the bindi masala(**). My parents think that the vegetarian dishes are too oily but the meat dishes are delicious! Likei said overpriced, but the only indian place in clarksville, i say THAT'S OK!

Good gracious what a difference in spice level! We ordered hot for our takeout a few weeks ago, and those little green pepper things were all over our food! Really was too hot, would recommend getting medium and asking for the spice tray! Otherwise it's still excellent and still one of my favorite places in Clarksville!

I had never tried much in the way of Indian food, but figured that I'd expand my culinary horizons with this place. I'm so glad that I did! It's beautiful inside, with all kinds of Indian decorations. It's cozy and has a small buffet, too. Everything was fresh and clean. I really liked it, and I'd recommend this place to anyone.
(4)Suk M.
Im pretty sure it's the only Indian restaurant in Clarksville but it's the best Indian food I have ever had!!! So much flavor and spice! My husband and I shared the chicken and lamb samosa, garlic naan, chicken tiki masala, and a chef specialty (extra spicy). Everything was so delicious and flavorful and the portions were very generous! Again, best Indian food we've ever had and we've been to our share of highly recommended Indian restaurants.
(5)Raiza R.
Came to eat here with a valid coupon from a school fundraiser which management rejected. Food was actually pretty good but way over priced. The restaurant was very empty for a Friday night and the service was slow. Not kid friendly at all. Overall just an ok experience. Good option to go to only if you have the money and everything is full on exit 4.

Went here for dinner with some friends for the first time last week for my birthday. I'd read the reviews and whatnot beforehand, so I wasn't expecting that much. Then again, I absolutely love Indian food and haven't had any since I moved out here almost a year ago now, so I was really craving some good eats. Like I said, I wasn't expecting much .. And yet, I was still slightly disappointed. The food was overall, OK. I've definitely had better. I got the mild Tikka Masala and a side of Naan. Good thing I got a side of Naan because the portion size for the Tikka Masala was pretty small. The Naan, I think, was the biggest disappointment ... I don't know how or why, but it almost tasted like it was fried. Our server was nice at least, considering we were only one of two groups there for dinner on a Thursday night and half our table was hyper little kids.. So, all in all ... This place was good, but not great. I've definitely had better, unfortunately. I may go back to try out their lunch buffet though, since that seems to be their thing.
(3)Colleen P.
This place is really good, but waaay to expensive. Not worth the money, dissapointing because I really love Indian food! Can probably find something better and cheaper in Nashville.
(3)Pat C.
The food is pretty good, but some of their policies suck. First, they add a charge of 15% for take out orders. That's the first time I have run across that. Second, a friend and I were there last week. Both our dinners came with rice, so they gave us a bowl to cover both of us. But, there wasn't enough rice in there for both. When we asked for more, we were told there would be a charge for a 2nd bowl of rice. Rice??? That's nuts.

I went here with a friend... I always wanted to try it, but have always been too chicken. Since it opened, the reviews I have seen always mention people loving it or hating it. I have to say I was on the fence. The bread was good, but the rest were just ehhh. It took FOREVER to get our meals, and I just felt sorry for our waitress. One girl with 9+tables to get orders for and serve. The kitchen being open to my table also worried me. The place also needed a good cleaning.
(3)Jason N.
This was our first time eating here. We really enjoyed the dishes. We chose the vegetable biryani, aloof (vegan), Marsala (vegan). All the dishes were delicious. I was really happy to see they sent out a side of peppers so that, by choice, we could spice it up a bit if we wanted. The only reason we went with 4 stars instead of 5 was because I was hoping for more bread choices. A few whole wheat choices of different breads would bring it up to 5 stars. Great atmosphere and great family restaurant!
(4)Avery K.
Had Sunday buffet. Meh. Update: and now my fiancé, with the iron stomach--is having diarrhea. The foods in the buffet that he ate, and I didn't, were the meat, the pudding, and a mango lasse. I'd stay away from those foods or from the buffet on a Sunday.
(1)Ken M.
I have eaten Indian cuisine all over the country and this place ranks very high with me. Despite being the only spot in town it is very good. I love the lunch buffet as well. Reasonably priced and worth the visit. I have not had anything i didn't like here. I eat here quite regular and will continue.
(5)David F.
Clarksville isn't exactly the Mecca of fine dining. It's hard to find a food joint that isn't a chain restaurant. Even harder to find a quality meal so i was pretty pleased to find this place. Outstanding indian food.
(5)Na Hyun K.
Today I finally got to try this restaurant and it was surprisingly very delicious! I haven't heard much about this place because it looks kind of hidden in a plaza or maybe people are hesitant on trying Indian food. However, the inside of the restaurant was very clean and well decorated and we were greeted and sat very quickly. I came during the lunch buffet hours and it was like $8 per person. The reason why I gave this restaurant 4 stars was because there weren't the greatest selection of food choices but I was still very full after 3 plates. Although the selection wasn't like what it would be at a Chinese buffet, the quality was great and authentic. It is definitely worth going to! I will be going back for sure.

This place is pretty good. Came here before Thanksgiving since we were going to be doing so much cooking the next day, we wanted to be lazy on Wednesday. We ordered take out from the register. They have booth, table, and "traditional" floor seating with pillows. We tried 3 different entrees: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, and Chicken Kadahki (sp?) We also got some roasted garlic naan. Our total was $65 bucks, so kind of pricey. You can get your curry with varying levels of spicyness. My hubs and I got medium hot and got mild for my mom's since she isnt a huge spice fan. All had very good flavor, nothing was too overpowering Overall, we loved the food. Her tikka masala was the best! The Vindaloo was the worst. Not because it wasn't good, just because it wasn't my favorite. The garlic naan was pretty tasty and of course amazing dipped in the curry juices. I tried to order a Chai, but they were out. Kind of strange, but it was the evening before a holiday so I wasn't too worried about. This was good and we are already definitely thinking of going back. Entrees are pretty big though, so if you aren't too hungry or are thinking of sharing, you would be able to.

Clarksville isn't exactly known for its ethnic food nor exotic food. Tandoor, however, offers a much needed break from the franchise frenzy, here in clarksville. I had the Chicken Tikka Marsala and cheese garlic naan and was not disappointed. Being from New York City and having Indian food numerous times I can confidently say that Tandoor is among the best ethnic food restaurants in Clarksville. Price: pricey 30-40$ average dinner per person with tip and drinks Atmosphere: romantic/ low light- decent date spot Food: 4/5 Overall: good food but pricey.
(3)Ash D.
Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere! Pretty authentic, with a decent amount to choose from on the menu without being confusing. We go with the masala steak and chicken tikka masala (curry) for dinner normally, and haven't been disappointed. The desserts are great as well. Highly recommend the almond ice cream topped with nuts and caramel (warning, it's not your traditional creamy ice cream, but it's delicious) And don't forget the lunch buffet! Can choose table, booth, or the traditional carpeted floor booth complete with lots of comfy pillows to lounge on (our favorite). Good place for a nice date night on the town, has wine and some beers as well. Quick and friendly service, definitely a nice retreat from your average chain restaurant!
(5)T D.
Love this place! I've only gone at lunch for the buffet mainly to enjoy the variety of food. The food is always fresh and most important delicious. It would be a great place to go for a romantic dinner date or a casual friendly lunch with coworkers or friends! Great decor and overall ambiance. This place is definitely worth trying!
(5)Candice C.
The food was great. I'm not sure why Indian food is always so expensive! We spent about $70 on take out and fed a (hungry) family of 4 with no leftovers. We enjoyed everything but the cost was a bit much. Will probably reserve this for a special occasion.
(3)Anna S.
Well I'm pregnant and had a huge pregnant lady craving for some indian food. My favorite indian place is in bel air Maryland and they are hard to beat. I currently live in Clarksville and so I thought I'd order some food to go. Well I should have known better but the pregnancy hormones took over. First of all I paid $25 for so chicken tikka masala (yes I know but I wanted to play it safe) and a side of naan. I definitely did not get my money's worth. The chicken tasted well like.......a butt. The hole of a butt to be more exact. I'm not sure what kind of mystery meat that was, but it was awful. I could not eat it at all. So I was stuck with sauce and rice. The sauce was OK but lacked flavor. The naan was good but it's hard to screw that up. If you love indian food like I do, stay away.
(2)Kevin M.
This is by far the best Indian food in Clarksville, and possible even better than any in Nashville (we've been to a few). The lunch buffet is the best value, but it's worth whatever price you pay - dinner or lunch. Make sure to get the cheesy naan bread. That's where it's at!
(5)Jenny R.
BEST RESTAURANT IN CLARKSVILLE! And the most romantic! All the food in amazing and always great service!
(5)Emme L.
If you've had Indian food anywhere ever, it is better than this place. My husband and I went back a few times thinking we had just hit it on an off day. All the reviews are so good. The atmosphere is awesome. I could see taking a date here with the intimate dining arrangement. But, when you get right down to it, the food is bad and overpriced. Drive to Nashville and get something good for way less money at literally any Indian restaurant. Just pick one and it will be better than this place. The buffet is really limited. The smallest selection I've seen. The tandoori chicken is always dry and it costs about 50% more than it should. I think this place stays in business because of the atmosphere and the fact that it's the only Indian restaurant in Clarksville.
(2)Ted C.
As far as the food goes it's probably some of the best Indian food I've had and beats what I ate in Nashville a while back. The space is huge with a big buffet table in the back which seems to be the best value-more on that later, and booths where you can sit on the floor which, as an Asian makes me want to sit cross-legged for joy, unfortunately, my friend is somewhat mystified about that so we sat regularly. I hadn't had a samosas in a while and it was the potato variety so when I saw lamb as a started to split with my buddy with the mint chutney was delicious. My buddy and I scooped up as much of it as we could with the fairly small fried dumplings and then just drank it down. I got the Chicken tikka masala which was tasty, spiced just right, mild enough that I ate everything up without having too much trouble. The garlic naan also called to me and it was big, fluffy and with big pieces of chopped garlic. Unfortunately, despite all the praise that I've heaped on the food the two words that, in my mind best describe this place is pitty-pat. I avoided this place for so long because one of my Afghan friends went there and he said the food was pretty good but so expensive. "You want bread, it's more money, extra rice more money." When our food arrived they only brought out one bowl of rice for the two of us so basically, we only got about a half serving of rice for both our dishes. When I did ask for more our waitress did say that it would be a separate order. Dinner for me alone, appetizer, beer, entree was over 40 bucks for me. I really can't see myself coming back for that kind of hit on my pocket no matter how good it might be.
(2)Ashwaq A.
I went there with my family today. They seem nice," nice decoration" but the food is not that good and too pricey. We wanted some more sauce for the lamp masala but the they say they don't have! So i ordered another order but then after 5 minutes i changed my mind and wanted to cancel it but they refused. I talked with two waitress and wanted to cancel it but then the manger, chef, or owner came to told us he wouldn't cancel it. I was upset and told him if you wanna charge me you can but I don't want it he said ok I'll give it to the DISHWASHER!!Rude arrogant staff!!
(1)Kathy L.
We really enjoy Indian food and Tandoor is great! The service is good and the atmosphere is very nice. The food varies at the buffet but there is always something we enjoy. Great place to meet up with friends also!
(5)Muna M.
The food is great, greasy and oily but very good, we had tikka masala and biryani chicken they tasted delicious and we had samosa veggy very tasty, I would probably eat there every weekend if I can afford it as its a bit pricy. Service was fast and amazing thumbs up
(5)Becha H.
My friend and I were hesitant to try this place simply because it had such various reviews, but after coming in for the lunch buffet I'll definitely come back. The buffet was constantly monitored and fresh food was coming out every few minutes. Great variety including the typical favorites of chicken tikka masala and naan, with great flavor. Nothing at the buffet was very spicy, but I prefer the milder side anyway. Would say that this place IS worth a try, despite some of the reviews. The food was good flavor, great price, and a very modern Indian style decor give wonderful ambiance to the quiet little place.
(5)Beth P.
Place was clean. Staff was so happy and nice. Food was excellent. Romantic atmosphere.
(4)Bruno S.
We decided on this place for our date night because they are self-proclaimed voted the most romantic dining in Clarksville. I know Clarksville is a small military town, but this is NOT a romantic environment... at all. If anything this would be a great buffet style lunch spot. The food was good and so was the service. However, It was very pricy and their portions were small. I will not return here and would rather drive to Nashville if I'm that hungry for Indian food.
(3)Eric I.
This place was amazing, if you love curry then you will love this place! The atmosphere was amazing, nice and dark really romantic. A little pricy but worth going to!! We will be back for sure!!
(5)David H.
I have never been to an Indian restaurant so having discovered that this offered a buffet what better way to learn about the cuisine. I was disappointed at the variety of food available. The proteins were lamb kabobs, and two types of chicken. There was a rice dish, plain rice, and cabbage. Lentil soup, several sauces, two types of bread and rice pudding rounded out the rest of the buffet. I did like the lamb but the chicken was nothing to recommend. The sauces were fresh and tasty. As said in previous comments the restaurant is interesting in decor. I really like the low tables with cusions where you sit on the floor. My grandkids would love that! I thought the cost was a bit high considering.
(3)FoodieFrien D.
Very good Indian food! They let you control the spicy level! (Which is highly appreciated). The lunch buffet is very good and constantly attended to (nothing sits very long). I love the bread! The decor is very pretty inside and the have the sit on the floor booths (as well as regular seating).
(4)Maggie Z.
Definitely a 5 star restaurant! I ordered hot goat curry and their special eggplant, both of them was really good, the goat curry is the best Indian curry that I ever had. Service is very good there, the waitress knows the Indian food very well, very helpful.
(5)Codie C.
I might be biased because I'm always shocked when I find a good restaurant in Clarksville. Not only is it good food, but good Indian food. Full of traditional Indian spices without being too spicy. Some people complained about that but I love that heat compliments instead of overtaking these dishes. We got the curry that starts with a j and has cilantro in it with lamb, garlic naan and mango ice cream. I loved every part of it. The ice cream is homemade and tasted like you were eating a perfectly ripe mango. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back
(5)Rona H.
I've always liked eating here although it is pretty pricy (for Clarksville that is). But I do get cravings for Indian food and I def come here. My fave is chicken pasanda with rice AND naan! And the lunch buffet is a good opportunity to try different dishes so you have a better idea of what to get if you ever eat dinner here. The traditional seating is pretty cool, try it out once...advice: don't eat too much (cause you'll get uncomfortable) or wear loose pants, otherwise sit in the regular seating. Oh, and try the mango lasse too!
(4)Bonnie C.
I absolutely love the food at this place. It's worth a second review! I've been to the buffet...a tantalizing array of divinely seasoned food, and I just dined there this evening. The setting can be very intimate, and yes, even romantic if you choose traditional seating. Booth and table options are available as well. I'm trying to work my way through the menu, but the Lamb Tikka Masala calls to me. The food certainly feeds my body, but it also feeds my spirit! Happiness is good food like what is served here and someone who enjoys it as much as I. It is a gem right here in Clarksville, TN!
(5)Robb H.
I was actually a bit surprised by the reviews after checking this place out. I was hesitant at coming to this place because of what I've heard from other friends. We decided to brave it though at lunch because for a $7.99 lunch buffet, it was worth the risk. The decor was pretty cool. They had some tables with the cushions instead of chairs. Still had some chairs for those that are less adventurous. Other than some home cooked stuff, I've never had Indian food before. Not sure that my review is worth all that much then because I am not actually comparing it to anything I've had before. Having said that, all of us that went were impressed with the flavors and such of the food. There isn't a whole lot of variety on Wilma Rudolph Blvd, so this place was a welcome change. For those who don't like spicy food, you may want to find another place to eat. Overall, I thought the food was great. I am not usually a fan of buffets. This one was well worth it.
(4)Kim H.
I never thought I would find amazing food in Clarksville, but here it is. As a rabid fan of Indian cuisine, and as a vegetarian, this place has been on my mind as one to try... and holy cow, am I glad I did! I ordered the vegetarian curry with peneer and potatoes they're known for and it was PHENOMENAL! The garlic na'an was incredible and the fruit custard dessert was amazing! My husband's meal wasn't that good, but he ordered the spiciest thing on the menu that came with a warning from our waitress before he was able to order it. They were definitely going for heat with his meal, not flavor. The waitress was a doll! So informative, patient, and was on top of everything despite being the only person serving tables while it was quite busy. The atmosphere was cute and subdued. This was an extremely pleasant surprise as I did not expect to get anything remotely authentic, let alone tasty, in this town devoid of culture! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended. Only con: it is a tad pricey. I'll probably be going back for the buffet next week and give that a shot to save some $$$.
(5)Anne O.
Came back a second time, food and experience were exceptional! We ordered spinach pakora which was delicate and delicious, and some lamb-tomato dish. It never looks like that much food but we always split one thing and leave with extras!
(5)Jimmy M.
In Clarksville this is the Indian place to go to. I'm pretty sure it is the only one in town. In spite of this the food is phenomenal. No matter when you go, lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed. They have regular seating and traditional Indian seating. It is also decorated very nice and has a pretty romantic atmosphere. Tandoor is a little pricey so be ready for it. Oh and when you go have a Taj Mahal (beer) they are delicious!!!
(5)The Yelp-inator W.
They have a buffet and there are several things to choose from on it....but not lots of options. The food is pretty good, great sauces. Service was fine, staff friendly. I don't think they are a very good value for what you pay. I would come back if they had a coupon or lower prices.
(3)James K.
First time eating here. I had heard good things about this place from friends. The atmosphere was upscale but not uptight. You could choose to sit at regular tables with chairs, or traditionally on the floor with pillows. Our group had a great time sitting at the traditional tables. EVERYTHING on the menu looked amazing. We had the garlic naan bread and the potato spinach Paneer kabob which were both outstanding. I had angara curry with lamb which was flavorful and spicy. The highlight dinner of our table was the tikka masala which the whole table agreed was the best. The service was friendly, efficient and put up with our hijinks. The only drawback is the price which was high but on par for fine dining in clarksville. Overall a great experience and Ill be back.

i have had a cold since christmas. i've been desperately trying to get a hold on it, beat it into submission and send it packing...with no luck. with the culinarily unadventurous hubby out of town, i decided that it was time to try tandoor, with the hope that the heat of the grub would kick some cold ass! i ordered the chicken tikki masala, garlic naan and baingam bharta (an eggplant dish). the owner sent me out the door with some chili chicken as a new years gift. the restaurant was beautiful, intimate and interesting. the owner was super friendly, and i wanted to LOVE the food. i got in my car and was surrounded by amazing scents and i was super super pumped. now i REALLY wanted to love the food. i did not love the food. i liked the food. the chili chicken was moist, with spice, but not much else in the way of flavor. maybe it needed some salt...that might have helped. the naan (srsly on of my fave foods EVER) srsly weighed a half a pound...it was thick and heavy. tasty, but it is hard not to be when you're slathered in garlic (gents, take note. EVERYONE loves garlic *wink wink*) the tikki masala was tender, but oily and not as tomato-y as i'm used to. maybe i'm just spoiled with my prior tikki masala experience. the eggplant had the best seasoning, giving my cold a kick in the teeth, but it wasn't identifiably eggplant, which bummed me out. i'm a junkie for the aubergine. all this came with a huge portion of basmati rice, which was tender and tasty. overall: it wasn't the indian food i WANTED it to be, but it was filling and had some good flavors. it won't be my go-to dinner joint, but as an indian fan, i don't want to have to drive to nashville every time i want a little spice. i will have to try some other dishes next time. maybe i'll find a winner. NOTE! do not be discouraged and not try this restaurant! everyone has their own palate! if you are feeling adventurous, give this place a shot...indian food is AMAZING and you are selling yourself short not to try it and support a local business in the meantime. *UPDATE* ate the leftovers this morning and it was AMAZING! the spices are all intensified and the naan, tho still super thick, filled me up in a happy way :) i am pleased.

Tandoor has reopened across the street in the same complex with Kohls. I'll give them this: The restaurant now has a 6.99 lunch buffet which has clearly improved their business. HOWEVER, Tandoor still comes off as pretentious and the food is still subpar. The waitstaff has headsets, to stay co-ordinated, though never so much that the tables have silverware. The food in the buffett...well, if you like rock hard potatoes and crunchy rice, frozen fruit haphazardly mixed with instant pudding, or overly salty dal......this might be the place for you. If you've never had Indian food before, this is not a representation of the best, despite the decor.
(1)Katie A.
My husband and I have been here 3 times and we ALWAYS go for the lunch buffet; it seems to be a good deal and the food is good. I just moved here from Berkeley, CA (which is HUGE on Indian food) and I think this place is comparable. I wish there were more non-chain restaurants in Clarksville like this. We're regulars and I would recommend it!
(4)Chris A.
I have heard various reviews from friends about this particular restaurant. Considering its one of the few ethnic restaurants in Clarksville, I thought I'd finally give it a shot. I was yearning for Indian food considering that I just recently returned from a deployment. Thus, I invited a good friend of mine to join me in this foodie adventure. Originally from Los Angeles, I've had my share of Indian food and was quite expecting this place to up to par. I was immediately mesmerized by the decor, especially the door. We were promptly shown our seats and I eagerly looked over the menu in search of Naan, a bread dish that I learned to love when I recently went home to LA for the holidays. To my luck, they did have it. My friend with the Spinach Chicken and I decided to go with Tikka Masala. I did take note of their disclaimer on the back of the menu regarding the time it takes to make the food since they make it fresh. It also states that the wait was well worth it and they were not kidding. As soon as we received the dishes, we were overwhelmed with the smell, the look, and the taste of everything we ordered! My various palates were tantalized with the variety of flavors that each dished possessed. Long story short, this place has got my vote and I can honestly say this establishment has exceeded my expectations. I recommend this place to anyone who is interested on going on a short trip to India while very well staying in Tennessee.

The buffet here was great. And all the food in it was tasty, the service was a little lacking but maybe dinner is different. I'd eat here again.

Being a vegan in Clarksville isn't easy, there are slim pickings for us. One of the hardest parts about eating out is having to ask what's in the food, like if you go to a burrito place, do they have lard in their beans? Most employees don't know nor care what is in the food, so most times i'd rather just not eat out than try and figure out if they have anything to offer me. That's why it's so nice to go to Tandoor, open the menu, and see items marked 'vegan'. And not only are they vegan, but they're worth eating! The food is delicious, a little spicy, but you can tell them you want it mild. Five of the nine items under 'vegetarian' are vegan. My favorites are the aloo gobi, chana masala, and lentil crackers. The only disappointment I have is that their naan doesn't appear to be vegan. There are always a couple of vegan items on the lunch buffet, but since they change what's on there every day, you might want to call beforehand to make sure that they'll have something you enjoy. And of course, the vegan items are cheaper than the other menu items. I can get the lentil crackers and an entree for $12, and have leftovers for lunch the next day. So if you're vegan or vegetarian and find yourself passing through Clarksville, Tandoor is a good choice for an enjoyable dining experience.

If you're reading this, it may be because you've found yourself (or expect to find yourself) trapped in the cultural void that is Clarksville, TN, and are wondering how you'll be able to survive there. I certainly did for the first year I spent stationed at Fort Campbell. Then this place opened up... Believe it or not, there is an Indian restaurant in Clarksville with a gorgeous atmosphere, friendly staff, and some of the best Indian food you'll find anywhere. They even have vegan options on their menu nowadays!!! Let me repeat that, for those who don't believe me: There is an Indian restaurant in Clarksville, Tennessee... It has vegan food. It's actually good. I'm not kidding. You need to eat here.

It's really refreshing to have found a place like this in Clarksville, land of the chain restaurant! The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The food is always yummy and great service. Plus you can walk in on a Friday or Saturday night and have pretty much no wait to get a table! Gotta love it!

Food is OK but this place is severelyyyyy over priced. Their portion sizes are ridiculously small and they give you enough rice for one person even if you order a meal for two. Then when you ask for more rice since its clearly only enough for one, they attempt to charge you an extra FOUR dollars for a small bowl of it!!! Will never go back here and I highly recommend you find an alternative.

I've had great Indian food before, and this is not it! The chicken Tika masala tastes like canned tomato sauce. The naan is definiteley not yummy and the worst thing about this place is that it's named tandoor, but there is no tandoori chicken!!

This is our favorite Restaurant in Clarksville. The buffet is okay but dinner is much better and it always comes out hot and fresh. This really helps to fill the cultureless void in Clarksville.

I have experience with Tandoor before the fire at the original location and after. The first location was bigger, stood alone, and had a hookah bar. The buffet was smaller, but it was more unique in that each dish had its own stand and heater. The menu was much more authentic. The waitstaff was never very informal or helpful, in that they didn't know how to pronounce menu items, either, and the case has worsened. But I love, love, loved the food. It was never gross to me there, rather, a culinary experience unlike any other in Clarksville. In reference to the review who said a single entree wasn't enough food, geeze. Just, geeze. My fiancee was Army. We'd go there after his long day at work and both have leftovers for breakfast. Fast forward to today's location. It used to be a Chinese buffet. Now it is Indian. There isn't as unique of a set up, although I am still a big fan of the ambience -- best restaurant to look at in Clarksville. They upped the buffet price one dollar, although 7.99 still isn't bad if you get there early while the food is still fresh. I am aware that it is because they guy wanted me to work for him while I was there, but once the owner saw that we (mom, aunt, myself) wanted more naan and brought fresh from the kitchen to my table. He has never been rude with me, but I DO know people who have worked there, and I cringe at their stories. The food has changed. I liked the food pre-burn. It was fresher and more flavorful. The last time I went, the rice WAS crunchy and greasy. Probably sitting there for hours. They changed the menu with the opening of this new location. I think they might have hired someone to better word the menu for the locale. They even added some American dishes to the buffet, like chicken strips, and I think pizza. With this addition came the loss of many of the dishes offered. The main menu had at least 1/4 of its original offerings cut, including na'an varieties, which you can only get at Tandoor or the commissary in the Clarksville location. Luckily, I moved somewhere you can pick up na'an at Super Target, and I get better Indian food at a local market stand than what Tandoor has come to offer. Still -- for Clarksville -- Tandoor is OK.

My kids (4 & 6) like to eat on the floor tables (traditional seating) and they have kid food (chicken fingers, etc). Got the chicken fingers but the kids wound up eating all my rice and nann instead and ignoring their food. When this place was first starting and was in a different location the food and service were pretty rough, but our last few experiences have been pretty tasty and enjoyable. Went there for Valentine's day 2010 and they were floating some new menu items, so I don't know if the menu has changed now or how much.
