Great place. The owners recognize you if you are a regular. This is one of my top 3 sushi places I have been to. They have both a sushi bar and a habachi grill depending on what you want. They are both delicious but the habachi is slightly more expensive than expected. I do think the habachi is worth it though.

We went on a week day and the place was empty. We were the only customers, so we got great service. The food was good. My only gripe was that our shrimp was very over cooked. That was disappointing. Other thAn that we had a great evening and got the usual hibachi show that my kids love. We ordered the family meal for six. If you're in a large group, you'll be better off ordering individually. I would have gotten sushi if the group meal wasn't so high.

Exceptional foods: Philidelphia roll, California roll, green tea ice cream, and shrimp/scallops. Here is a gaurantee... you will not leave this place without having to get a to-go box. They serve soup, salad, rice, and noodles with every meal prepared on the grill in front of you. The food had flavor, it was all prepared correctly (everybody's preference for cooking level of steak), and a portion of the food was given to everyone equally. Even the two little girls got a mini amount of noodles and rice. I looked at it as going above and beyond to include every at the "table". Another thing that stuck out to me was how this place entertained its guests. Our cook made little rice balls and gave everyone a chance to catch it in their mouth! It was awesome, I was the only one that caught it for the record lol Not subject to just our group was an older lady going around with chop sticks and paper umbrellas fixing younger girls hair up in a bun. I have a picture posted of that for yall to see :) I loved this place, and I can almost promise that if everyone had the experience that I did they would love it just as much! Remember that everyone gets a dip of rainbow sherbet ice cream afterwards which I dont ever recall getting a free desert at another japanese steakhouse. I always order the green tea ice cream. Its $2.50 for two big scoops and whip cream. SOOOO worth it! You guys have got to try this place at least once!!!

Food and service is always great. Love the sushi as well.

We enjoy our meals here, although we stick with the teriyaki chicken mostly. My guys love the Kim (sp?) roll. The bento box lunch is great!!! We have a hard time getting here during the week and it is not served on the weekend. This would be a weekly treat it it were available on Saturday!

Bottom line up front: Best Japanese steakhouse in Clarksville Pros: Good service, surprisingly fresh sushi (considering this is the south), quality of food is very good, lunch bentos are its' bread and butter. Cons: Like most J-steakhouses it is expensive, can get a little loud at times, crowded during lunch. I don't like Japanese steakhouses. But this one is noteworthy. Been here several times while stationed at Fort Campbell, always pleased. The lunch bentos are generous and actually filling, unlike most other bentos from other joints. The food is of very good quality. The cuts of steak are downright melt-in-your-mouth. Other places could learn a thing or two from here. The fried rice is good, as are most places that specialize in this type of food. Sushi here is fresh, which seems wrong considering the only time I have had sushi this fresh was back in Cali. For my fellow soldiers, consider Sakura the Colonel of Japanese steakhouses in Clarksville. Shogun and Yamato are second rate. Sakura is worth the long trip from post.

Come for this sushi. Sushi prices are reasonable but the steakhouse side is out bullshit.

I went there last night for a hibachi dinner. Sushi here was good, so I thought, well I'll give it a shot. No, never again. I ordered chicken and shrimp. We waited about 30-35 minutes before the chef decided to come out and put on a cheesy show. He started cooking, starting with fried rice which was pretty decent. Then he put on the meat and seafood. Well my shrimp was rubbery, yep it was. My chicken? I don't even want to talk about it. I just felt really bad for the lady who ordered scallops. I did like the noodles they cooked, but that's about it. I would never go there for hibachi grill. No way.

i have been made aware that my review of this location is harsh and dramatic. although i continue to defend my statements, i will try to be more impartial after eating the leftover sushi that my husband brought home from here today and revisit my earlier review. the decor of sakura was lovely. the service truly was crap, but this is not anything that can't be fixed or overlooked. i really do flinch when i recall the taste of the broccoli that i ate and can't remember anything else that i ate as worthwhile...and i'm a food memory person. i did leave this place feeling ill, but such is life. i have had the same experience at other places (*cough* yamoto) and i'm sure that i'll have them again. i can say that i was slightly dramatic, but was honestly underwhelmed and really had no desire ever to return to sakura. however, my husband came home today with some leftover sushi from lunch. i can only attest to what he brought, which is not 100% fair as it was not fresh when it was eaten, and, as deep fried rolls, really should be somewhat fresh. both were acceptable, deep fried with cream cheese, avocado and crab and salmon respectively. as i said, they were not in their pristine state. having said that, i have had leftover fried rolls from kohana and found them to be better. i think, as christopher h. states, kohana is my "la la la la, i can't hear you" place for sushi. was my initial review dramatic and slightly juvenile? i vote yes. was it true? also a yes. i remain void of desire to return to sakura and doubt it will change. what can i say, i'm a kohana girl. la, la, la, i can't hear you!

This is my favorite restaurant in town. It is very clean, the atmosphere is nice, the food is delicious and at a very reasonable price. Some of the servers are a little difficult to understand due to a thick accent, but they are all very nice and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone!!!

This was my first time actually going out and eating sushi. Other than that I've only had bites of whatever others get. I went with the deep fried rolls with the cream cheese and avocado. One with crab and one with salmon. Both were excellent in my opinion, although I really have nothing to compare it to. I also had a regular salmon roll which I also enjoyed. The service could have been better. People that ordered cooked food had theirs before others that ordered basic sushi (maybe it's my lack of experience, but it seems odd). Drinks only got refilled on request. A water with lemon was missing the lemon, and required more than one additional request to have it located. The soup before the meal was good, but unfortunately not everyone that should have, received some. By the time they did, everybody else was done. Taste wise, I was very pleased, but service could be improved. I would definitely go back.

My favorite sushi-chef Miki-Opa does not work there anymore. That really makes me sad.

Have been here a few times during my short stay at Campbell. The place is clean, quiet and the staff are pleasant, quick and friendly. There is so much food that comes with the Combination meals. The tempura sweet potatoes are awesome. The yum yum sauce is yummy. Always have leftovers and the food is very good! Definitely recommend this place over Yamato!

Great food, great staff, great management. We look forward to this experience about three times a year. My children love the hibachi grill show and the staff and management totally spoil them. The food is so tasty and the sushi is to die for. It is a bit pricy but no where near the expense of Haninoki. Everyone should try this place I don't think you will regret it.

Visited during lunch with a large group. We were the only group in the restaurant but understandably so since it was about 1130. The server was kind and initially attentive. Out drinks were delivered in a timely manner but as the crowd piled in she became a bit overwhelmed and the service declined. Although our sushi order took over 30 minutes it was excellent. I will visit Sakura again and I hope the staff is a bit more prepared for the rush!

Ive never had any problems with this place and we often go in big groups. We always have toddlers with us and the waitresses love to fuss over them :) Ive always enjoyed every meal that Ive had here. Ive been here twice and both times were great!

I wish this restaurant was every where I went! The food is absolutely amazing, at a good price for the amount you get. Each cook is different so you will get a different presentation every time, some are better than others but I crave this food all the time and go once a month. I could eat it every week though. I highly recommend if you are looking for amazing food and a little entertainment, which is an awesome combination.

Amazing cuisine!!! This is the best Asian food we have had since leaving Asia!!! The Udon is perfect, and the fried sushi is up there with all the ones we tasted abroad!
(5)Erica F.
This use to be our favorite Japanese spot, but the SERVICE, FOOD & Quality is HORRIBLE now!! Also they keep overcharging us and then pretend to not understand what we are explaining.
(1)Crystal B.
The best Japanese food my family has had in the area. Their weekday lunches are very reasonably priced and their hibachi style meals are even better. We always opt for spicy rice and I would highly recommend it. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive. They usually remember us and it makes us feel important or at least appreciated. The prices are cheaper than most of the other restaurants of this nature. If anyone asks us for a Japanese food recommendation, we recommend Sakura!
(5)Carla L.
One of the best sushi ever and wont break the bank! And definitely the best miso soup Ive ever had! You MUST try the Top Secret special roll, you'll be like OMG!
(5)Shelby C.
Great waitress, great food, we had steak, shrimp, salmon, and scallops all tasted amazing. The Yum Yum sauce is the best always. The chief made it fun for everyone and did a great show while cooking. Will definitely come back.

Ordered the avocado rolls with soy paper instead of seaweed over the phone during my 30 minute lunch. Went to pick it up in a hurry and got back to work ready to eat, only to find out they used seaweed instead of what I asked for. Called back and explained to them the situation, they said they wouldn't be able to make my order for another 20 minutes.. I'm sorry but if you messed up a order shouldn't they be top priority? It's partially my fault for not checking but to top it off they had horrible customer service. Waste of $8.

The best Japanese place around. You get lots of great food for the same price as the other restaurants that give you a smaller amount and aren't as good!! I love this place!!!

Hands down the best lunch bento box in clarksville! Since it's was my first bento when I tried it here. I went with my friend to try sakura's lunch special...and we were hooked! I'm from memphis and I am only here for school, so to come across good bento box this delicious has been amazing! Not to mention their dirty old man roll, you have to try it!!!! Food is affordable and delicious, I will be ordering their bento boxes to go soon!
(5)Janie B.
Soooo much delicious food! The scallops were cooked perfectly and I wanted to drink the Yum Yum sauce with a straw.
(4)Janette C.
I was disappointed in it honestly. They had a great variety and many of the standard rolls. But I rather dislike it when they "Americanize" the rolls. They end up too huge and I have to struggle to eat them! Anyhow...probably won't go back here again

I decided to give Sakura a try after hearing about their insanely inexpensive lunch prices and decent menu. Upon arrival, there were only a few other people seated. Our server came over immediately to take our drink order. I went with miso soup and a sushi roll. The miso soup was brought out quickly. It tasted overcooked. The tofu's texture and color was off. I had two bites and pushed it aside. The roll came out next. The sushi itself wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. It did not taste "fresh". It reminded me a lot of the pre-made sushi you buy in a grocery store. The bill was in fact inexpensive at least. Both the outside and in are a little run down. It was dark inside with the blinds closed even though it was a sunny day. I would be willing to come back to try the hibachi grill but probably would skip the sushi.

Love this place! I have eaten here several times so my full stars review is on point... trust me. I have eaten at the sushi counter, in a booth, and at the grill and each place is perfect. The specialty sushi is the best. Try different rolls to find your favorite. My favorite is the kamikaze. If you want the full grill experience then sit and be ready to be served one course at a time. Don't worry because while your salad and soup is being enjoyed the chef gives a performance like most Japanese Steak Houses. The chefs are polite, humorous, and well skilled. I suggest the shrimp and scallops. Cooked perfectly on a flat grill, the seafood melts in your mouth. Now on to my true favorite dish at Sakura. Udon soup. Simply put it is a large wheat noodle served in a seafood broth with crab, shrimp, broccoli, mushrooms, and other veggies. This soup comes in a cast iron pot and is plenty to share amongst 4 if you wish. Ordering the soup and 1 specialty sushi roll is about $30 plus tip. A perfect meal at a perfect price. I was bewildered by the large glasses that they use. I could not finish my glass of water when I usually get at least 1 refill. My husband however, drinks sweet tea like only southern boys do so he of course got a refill. I always recommend this restaurant to those looking for delicious food away from the burger/pizza phenom of this city. Now if someone can tell where to get a good antipasti salad my Clarksville dining experience will be complete.

Our lunch was very affordable and delicious. It was also pretty quick, which is nice for those on a short lunch break. I'll definitely come back!

We live less than a mile from another hibachi restaurant but perfer to make the drive here! We've ate at 5 or so different places. Not only does it taste the best. But they are the ONLY restaurant weve been too that lets us substitute vegetables for extra rice which is a always for my husband and I both.
(5)Jermaine D.
A little stingy with the portions of meet here. The lunch bento box is very affordable here. About the price of a combo at Arby's. For the price at dinner. They should give a little more meat.
