Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This is the best Mexican food I've had since I have left San Diego. This is our home-away-from-home joint. The staff is amazing! They are always friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious. I love their menudo. But everyone needs to try their carne asada fries! If you want to know what California is like, get a taste of it in their fries. Amazing. Their burritos and tortas are consistently good. I have not been disappointed by them yet. Definitely recommend.

If you want REAL MEXICAN FOOD this is the place to go! Friendly staff and great food! No one in Clarksville can or will beat that! Take it from a person who has lived in Mexico for majority of his life! (:

If you are looking for the most authentic Hispanic food, you should try this place. You, will not be disappointed! Family owned, with great customer service. Makes every other Hispanic restaurant in Clarksville, look like a joke. Must try!!! If I could give it more stars I would.!!

Looks shady from the outside and the decor inside is not impressive, it was not crowded at all when my husband and I dropped in for a quick bite. Food is above average however, and I will continue going back. The mini tacos are delicious, I ordered adobada and carne asada. My husband ordered a ceviche tostada and it was surprisingly good. I also ordered the chilaquiles verdes which I did not like so much, since the green sauce was not good and there was egg mixed in with the chilaquiles, which I am not used to. Prices are good compared to Mercado Juarez right across the street, I will continue my search for an awesome Mexican Restaurant, but for now this will do.

Tacos, rice and enchiladas have been good. Find them to be inconsistent though. Few times chips have been stale. Friendly staff and fairly quick service. Good value for quality of food.

Best streets tacos in Clarksville! (Highly recommend the Pastor) Tamales are also REALLY good. We order from here at least once a week (for the past 2 years!) & are never disappointed. La Morenita is the only place in town for real Mexican food for these SoCal transplants! Get There!

Yummm! Tacos pastor and carne asada...carne asada fries...tip the sweet waitress for sure (she is ran crazy, but remained cool). Got my preggo fix and my family loved it! Will definitely return. Downside: You go to the counter to pay, without a bill or identified order number...they know what you ordered based on where you sit! Oddly uncomfortable.

This place is literally so good I signed up for Yelp to give this review. My wife and I both agree this is hands down the best place in Clarksville. The chain Mexican restaurants around town can't even compete with this place.

This place was packed! I had the shrimp dish. It was very good. It came with yummy tortillas. The guacamole is super fresh and some of the best I've had. Will definitely be back!

Oh my god. Finally someone that knows how to cook mexican food. I got carne asada fries, carne asada burritos and carne asada rolled tacos(taquitos). The asada was cooked and flavored exactly like real fronteras baja style mexican food. And hey get this! They even sell menudo! It aint authentic without menudo and maybe some birria!

This place is absolutely delicious. Hands down the best Mexican food in Clarksville. My wife and I are both from California and have some pretty high expectations for Mexican food and we have tried every Mexican restaurant in town. If you want great, authentic Mexican food this is the place to go to. The people who work there are very kind. Just a great experience overall.

Have tried many mexican restaurants in clarksville and this is hands down the best!! Carne asada tacos reminds me of the ones back home in Cali and they have agua frescas what more can you ask for!:)

Delicious authentic Mexican food. Awesome service and good prices. If you are looking for a nice little place to get your Mexican food fix look no further than La Morenita.

By far the best, most authentic Mexican cuisine that has ever touched my lips! My husband and I ordered the tamales, a pork (pastor) taco, chili relleno, and the enchiladas one of each (chicken, beef and cheese). The staff was friendly and attentive. Makes every other Mexican restaurant bland in comparison to La Morenita! Still giving it 5 starts even though they do not have margaritas! they do serve beer.

Best Mexican food in Clarksville!!! I grew up in southern Arizona and have been trying to find a good place for Mexican since we got to Ft. Campbell last year. This is authentic and if you know REAL traditional Mexican food, you will appreciate it. It's definitely a hole in the wall. Don't let appearance throw you off. It is worth it!

Finally some real Mexican food, can't complain. Location looked a bit weird at first due to the closed shop next to next them But once inside, very nice place. Customer service is really good. The food is made and not microwaved, doesn't get packed but who cares. The drinks they make is one to try.

Their food was ok but the restaurant just across the road that is also a grocery store and a restaurant is 10 times better. La Laguna is what it is called. The tacos cost a little bit more at La Laguna but are so worth it and their guacamole is the best I have ever had.

Best mexican food in clarksville by a long shot. I lived in Southern California for 21 years and ate some of the best mexican food Los Angeles has. This place would fit right in the top 10 best Mexican food places I've been to. Trust me, this place won't let you down!!

Amazing food and service! Staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is authentic, delicious, and plentiful. You're missing out if you don't have a meal here.

Almost every Tuesday my coworkers and I come for taco Tuesday. Food is cheap, delicious, quick and authentic with large portions. Staff is friendly and place is clean on inside. Looks kind of like a run-down place on the outside though!
(4)Emily E.
Cheese dip is absolutely fabulous. Steak tacos are great as well. I was born and raised in AZ so it's hard to come by a Mexican restaurant out east that compares. Will be back
(5)Teresa G.
Hands down most authentic mexican food in town. I am from Arizona. ..so most places in this area can not compare. Carne asada is delicious :) I love their salsa, my husband always gets their tacos with a mix of meats. Mexican soda offered and beer.
(4)Stacy R.
It can be hard to find good authentic Mexican food but La Morenita's is one of the few good places to get it in Clarksville. Definitely check it out!
(4)Tori A.
I've eaten a lot of real Mexican food, from Mexico so I despise most "Mexican" restaurants here that are just enhanced taco bells. This place is hands down the best, most authentic Mexican food in clarksville. You will not be disappointed.
(5)Leslie M.
Small hidden location but give it a try. I've been here several times and the service and food is great. Other spots in clarksville the meat always taste old or microwaved, not here. Everything I've ever had taste fresh.
