High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

I have visited this location many times before over the years and left indifferent to the experience. There seems to be a concerted effort by the entire staff to provide a friendlier and more welcome experience. The staff circulates quite frequently to check in tables. This includes the manager. I must say that I am impressed. I hope my burger is as good as the service thus far.

Great service, great food. First time here and had a warm welcome from Sharee. I had the Ceasars Salad with chicken and my wife had the fish and chips. My salad was fresh and the chicken was cooked to order. My wife's fish was hot and tastee. She especially liked the cole slaw. The place was very clean and our waitress Sharee was very helpful, making sure my wife's french fries came with no salt. Highly recommended.

We come here often since we live nearby...service has never been horrible, but the manager always seems to be in a bad mood. She never smiles, EVER, which leads me to think she's having a miserable time. I always comment to my husband how she always looks miserable. Maybe try smiling at your customers once in a while, you'd be surprised how welcome it makes them feel. Why not go the extra mile just to SMILE

Our food was fine. However our service was another story. We arrived at the Applebee's at 5:30pm. Everything seemed to be fine. However we very quickly discovered otherwise. After we ordered our drinks, we told our waitress we needed a few a minutes. It took a few minutes for her to return, but we really thought nothing of it. We ordered our appetizers and they came out quickly also, however after that, the waitress basically vanished. We wanted to order more food, but she was no where to be found. Another employee, whom we assumed to be the manager, asked us if we needed help and we explained that our waitress had not been back by our table. She said she would send her over (and did not try to help us), but it was still another ten minutes before our waitress returned. It had been over twenty minutes since she brought our food. She took our orders and drink orders before disappearing again. The other two members of my party had to wait more than ten minutes on their drinks, even though the bar was not even half full. The bartender brought their drinks over, only to ask one of them what they ordered, because she didn't know exactly what the drink she had in her hand was. They were also out of the alcohol to make one of the signature drinks. Our food arrived and it was good. We wanted to order dessert, only to wait another twenty minutes on our waitress to come back to our table. She was walking the floor, but never stopped by our table even though we had several empty plates. She also never told us her name or wore a name tag so we had no way of telling anyone else who was serving us. We finally ordered dessert and another waiter brought it to us and took our empty plates, some of which were still from the appetizer sampler. Our waitress returned after we finished to ask about the checks and then promptly left again. After another over twenty minute wait, another manager started coming around to the tables in our section to ask what we needed. We let her know that we needed a check and our waitress came back with the checks. It was almost 7:45pm before we finally finished and left Applebee's. Not only did no one tell us what was happening, but it took us two hours and fifteen minutes to finish our meal. Some of the tables in our section had gone through three different parties. We waited entirely too long every time the waitress left our table. I was really disappointed with this visit and would definitely consider other options before coming back.

Meh. Applebee's is Applebee's but they're usually a nice restaurant choice. Went here for lunch and stuck with soup and sandwiches. My wife and I both ordered sandwiches and they were both made wrong, like the Chef didn't know the difference between them (i.e mix matched ingredients bacon, turkey vs ham etc). The fries tasted old and rewarded. My wife's sandwich had aback do that was black (disgusting). She sent it back and the one they brought back was completely different (but really good I are it). Should've went somewhere else and I will never come back. Our waitress was super nice and that's the only reason I gave it two stars, it's that bad.

Went there today to day drink. The last time me and a buddy went there and had some Long Island ice teas which were super strong but the service was mehhh. So this time me and a couple buddies went in and I ordered a strawberry margarita. Probably THE worst one I've ever had. Not to mention the "bartender" had to look up how to make it. My friend got a mojito and it tasted like straight mint with water, HORRIBLE. So I was like ok I'll try the Long Island ice tea... Again, horrible. Last time I went in I got buzzed off one Long Island, I didn't feel a damn thing having a margarita and a Long Island. Food was "ok". Manager was nice and probably did more work than my bartender and seem to make drinks better than her. Last time going there.

Some say you can't have high expectations for Applebee's? Disagree. There are well-run restaurants and poorly run restaurants and this one needs some help. Ordered twice from here and the only one seemingly on top of their game is the bartender. The hostess was a ditz and screwed our order twice when we got a simple to-go. They forgot to tell us they were out of soup until we arrived for pick-up. Steak was cooked medium well instead of well every time. Ordered broccoli and received potatoes instead. Get it together, folks. I'm heading for Chili's.

This was our first visit to Applebee's in a couple of years bc of a bad experience here before. This visit was the reason we wouldn't come back again. Wing appetizer: Ordered the hot wings. The wings were warmish and were soft and mushy. Lunch: Hubby: medium Shrimp N Parmesan Sirloin Me: medium-rare Ribeye Both meals took about 20 minutes to get in a nearly empty restaurant. A food runner brought out our steak, plopped them down, and then left before I could tell her my steak was very visibly well done or hubby could ask for A1. I was able to flag our waitress down to ask for a medium-rare ribeye and for A1. It took another 15 minutes to get a redone which the chef?? brought out and had me cut into. The steak was medium-well, but whatever bc I was not sending it back again. The steak was not seasoned and pretty fatty as opposed to good marbling. I ended up just cutting all the fat out (about 1/3 of the steak) and salting it. Hubby had already finished his meal when they brought the steak out to me so he got to sit there and watch me eat. No apologies from the manager or the waitress. Only positive was we used a coupon for the appetizer and had a gift card. This experience was so bad we left a $8 tip to use up the rest of the gift card so we wouldn't have to come back again.

Ordered curbside. Told when to arrive. I waited almost 20 mins. Got back to my hotel room to find no dinnerware, and malt vinegar as dressing for my salad, rather than balsamic vinagrette, as ordered. Ate my dinner with my hands, and salad without dressing. Horrible service!!!!!
(1)Amber J.
Food was good. Service was prompt and friendly. Came for lunch on a busy holiday and it went great.
(5)Russell S.
The food was pretty decent. My wife got the fiesta chicken chopped salad. It was half a chicken breast on a side salad. The waitress and manager were very nice and wanted to make the situation better but $10 for a small salad with half a chicken breast on it is seems wrong to me. Friendly and helpful and I'd say five star. Flavor I'd say four star. Price to portion size I'd say two star so I'm going overall three star.
(3)Amanda C.
OK final trip to Applebee's, being ignored then waiting forever for cold unseasoned food is the final straw. So much wrong with this trip to overcome. Goodbye Applebee's on Wilma Rudolph this was the final nail in the coffin. PS was busy but not to the point of ridiculous.
(1)Dylan L.
Okay i've been to the Applebees in California and i've never been disappointed. Food is usually good and i dont remember ever walking out thinking im never coming back to this place again until i visited this Applebees. It's DISGUSTING. DON'T EAT HERE... I made the mistake of giving this place a second chance and NEVER again. GROSS!!!
(1)Hailey D.
I don't know why I decided to go to this place.....the service was horrible! Our waitress was super slow, our dinner took more than an hour. My friend's appetizer came out after everyone else's dinner was out. And she didn't put in his order of some burger, so he ended up getting it to go. Then it took her about 20 minutes before she brought our checks. It was the slowest Applebee's I've ever been to. It wasn't like she was busy, for the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. Find somewhere else to go.
(1)Jessica L.
Usually go hear at night with my boyfriend. You pay the price for something that isn't worth it but you get full. I like the tvs everywhere you sit you can see one. I do not like sitting elbow to elbow with people and you can't hear the tvs over everyone's loud mouth. Severs take forever to wait on you if you didn't come with a party of 500. Food takes forever to get and even if you ordered before the person next to you they usually get theirs first. I can't drink liquor but we sit at the bar with the drunk old men or army boys knocking em down. Feels like a bar with less cigarettes and fights.;
(3)Genevieve R.
I never usually eat at chain restaurants but unfortunately, I had no choice. My bf ordered the riblets and it looked like the dog food, Alpo. We returned these and got a burger instead which he took one bite of and left it. I ordered a salad which was filled with mostly shredded carrots and cabbage. The server was SO annoying too! He wouldn't shut up.. it's like DUDE, you're supposed to be working, not socializing! Go away and make a friend.
(1)Teresa N.
Let me first say my idea of fresh spinach is not the same as their idea of fresh spinach. I thought it wouldn't be as bad as the reviews put it at, but it is. If your looking for a quick good bite to eat in a clean place, you won't find it here.
(2)Carrie S.
What can I say, its Applebees. Not super exciting but good food and reasonably priced. It's always consistent.
(4)Lacy A.
Applebee's is just Applebee's. I was craving their pecan crusted chicken salad, so we went. The salad was good, as usual. My husband ordered a burger, which was mediocre, as usual. The atmosphere was dead the night we went. We were two of maybe 10 people in the whole place. Our server was nice and it was a pleasant, short dinner.
(3)Sara M.
Every time we go here, we say never again. This time I mean it. Don't bring out my food and tell us that my husband's food has already been brought out when, clearly, there's no food in front of him. And then my fries were undercooked and partially raw. My husband ordered the ribs and was actually surprised that they were fairly tasty... so was the waitress. Even she said that she probably wouldn't try ribs from Applebee's. The only saving grace? Spinach & artichoke dip. However, even that was botched because the salsa that was supposed to come with it wasn't there. And there weren't enough chips. Seriously, never again.
(2)Abe S.
Really really bad customer service. I honestly never had so bad customer service at a restaurant. The food all I can say it makes McDonald's look fancy.
(1)Heather H.
I had to eat here recently, and had to practically drag my husband, lest we starve that night. Or go grocery shopping, whichever. Anyway. So we walk into "Crapplebee's" and the hostesses were in the middle of a conversation about tattoos. Rather than greet us, they tried to get us into the conversation for a minute, gave up, and sat us. Our waitress was professional at least. I got the penne sans chicken and it was pretty a-ok. Husband's meal was forgettable. The artificial, loud, and cheesy atmosphere is as annoying as you can imagine, but the conversations we overheard were priceless. Thanks for the entertainment, man who talked loudly about "fruits and nuts" protesting to keep collective bargaining rights in WI. Enjoying your weekend? The check took a while to come out, and by that time I was pretty much done with this place for another two years. Or forever.
(2)Rebeccah E.
Ok so I have eaten at many Applebee's restaurants over the years and have always been satisfied and enjoyed my food. Not so much at this location.... My husband and I went in and we both got steak, garlic mashed potatoes and garlic green beans. I ordered my steak well-done (and when I say well-done, I mean no pink in the meat) and it came out close to medium-rare. There was blood on the plate pooling into the potatoes and green beans; I seriously just about ralphed right there on the table at the sight of it. Call me priggish but I cannot stand to see rare meat..especially on my own plate. So...I ended up sending the whole thing back; asking for potatoes and green beans non-bloody and a steak well-done. The server came back with the steak less than 3 minutes later so I KNEW it wasn't going to be right and it wasn't.... AGAIN, it came out medium rare. Apparently, they don't know how to cook meat well-done here. The mashed potatoes were really runny/soupy and I think they're made with cream instead of milk which makes them nasty beyond nasty. The garlic green beans, once we found them floating in a sea of butter and garlic, were ok but we actually had to take napkins and soak up all the grease before we could even eat them. We will not be eating here again. It's a shame because this is the only Applebee's in Clarksville. Hopefully, there's one in a surrounding town that we can go to with better food. I gave two stars because the servers are friendly and nice..really on their game and it's not their fault the food stinks.
