This place is the best. Great service, even better food and prices. The cheese steak sliders are my favorite. The secret is homemade paminto cheese. Something for everyone. A must for any Chattanooga outing. This is where the locals eat!

This is my second visit to The Big Chill. Both times the food was excellent with great service. The menu is vast & offers something for everyone including the vegetarians in the group. Trendy, cute atmosphere. Diverse group of patrons. Recommended spot for anyone looking for a fun, laid back dinner, lunch or brunch.

I absolutely love the Big Chill! Their food is AMAZING! Scotti has out done herself with this upgrade! The servers are quick and courteous! I usually have the fish tacos (delish) or chicken fried chicken when I go! The appetizers are great too! I've never been disappointed with this place, although I think the cover charge (after 8 on the weekends I believe) needs to go away! They have awesome frozen cocktails as well! Side note: they are family friendly until 8pm so bring the kids! Their Sunday brunch is to die for!

Excellent service for our large and inattentive group. The food was perfect and our server was so very patient. The French dip will be my go to item the next I me we visit. Everyone enjoyed a variety of items from a great menu.

Let me preface by saying I never visited the original location...that I can remember. Seem's fuzzy.... That being said, the atmosphere at the Chill is great. I love the mixed seating areas that all offer a different vantage point of the bar and downtown in general. It's fun to watch the daiquiri's spin and people spin on the daiquiris! I'm not much of mixed drink gal, as I prefer the brew. However, I have tasted what others have ordered and they do pack a flavorful punch. I hear rumors that two daiquiris can make a person kiss the floor. As far as the eating goes, the menu offers typical bar fare as well as plates. I've eaten here twice and ordered the chicken fingers and the french dip. It's obvious to me that most things come from the fridge and shelves, and nothing in particular is fresh-made. So really, the food is doing it's job by being quick, hot, and absorbing the copious alcohol from the mixed adult beverages. Not to worry, I'll keep coming back. They serve Chickbock!

I loved the food and atmosphere but the management need some work. I had a situation where I was there with several people and it wasnt until I checked my bank acct realized I was over charged. Management (Bri) was rude and said oh well I shouldn't of been so drunk I didnt realize it. A I want drunk B I didnt get a receipt C between everything that was going on and the poor lighting I misread the receipt. The owner needs to teach his managers how to deal with customers.

So glad the Chill has a new and much bigger location. A favorite place to enjoy friends, tasty drinks, and excellent dishes. Everything I've ever had, from salmon, nachos, chicken and waffles, the Monte Cristo, etc., was delicious and pleasingly presented. You are sure to find a dish you will come back for many times over. My favorite is the Chicken Salad Melter. I could dine on this one every day! The wait staff is excellent and are on top of your needs and expectations. The owner, Scottie Bowman, makes regular rounds to meet and greet her customers. All in all, a great experience! I'm a frequent, and always satisfied, customer.

I'd like to review the food at this place, but we never got any. I'd like to review the service, but again, we didn't receive service... hence the reason I can't review the food. Let me back up. My family and I drove up from Orlando for a week-long vacation here in Chattanooga. We rented a house about four blocks from this restaurant. So we decided to quick try a local restaurant that we could hopefully frequent several times during our stay. We walked in and a woman said; "Just have a seat wherever you like." So we motioned towards some four-person tables on the left near the garage doors on the street side. We sat for several minutes and my son, who like the rest of us, was hungry and restless, he got up and got a menu off the wall holder near the front door. The three of us looked over the menu for at least ten minutes and we waited, and waited. Nobody paid us any attention. I sat and watched the woman who greeted us wait on two other tables and never even glance at us. I also sat and watched a well-built young man with tattoos on his right arm standing in the waiter's station eating and drinking. Now this was not a full house of customers...far from it. I'd guess the place was only about 25% full. Another five minutes go by. By this time, we have decided on what we want to order but still no acknowledgment of our being there. Then, two other parties of people came in. The woman followed them to their tables and handed them menus and took drink orders. That was the last straw and we decided to leave. To the owners; if you are not going to invest in a proper hostess, your customers are easily forgotten about. I can't describe to you how appalled and upset we were at being ignored. The attitude and inattentiveness of your servers should embarrass you. As we walked out, again nobody noticed us. I just couldn't let that go, so I stopped one of the servers and told him that we were insulted to the core. We were ghosts. We walked in and could have walked out with the only words being spoken to us - "Just sit wherever you like." That was an awful way to be introduced to Chattanooga. I sincerely hope the rest of this little part of town has more manors and consideration for its visitors. Oh, and thank you for the three-dollars we wasted on parking in the structure attached to your building.

Took 30 minutes for anyone to even realize we were there. The food was terrible. I paid 20 bucks for a steak to eat 2 bites of it and I only ate that much because I was starving. I sat with an empty cup till we left and I had to flag someone down for the check.. overall just terrible.

Service was spotty, food was okay, $0.50 charge for a tiny cup of ranch, never got second mixed drink I ordered. I had the triple salad scoop, which is chicken salad, egg salad, and pimento cheese on a bed of greens with celery. Extra celery means 4 pieces instead of 2, and an additional 4 is another up charge. The coconut birdbath martini was delicious. The fried pickles were fried pickle chips, but the amount of ranch they come with is insufficient for the amount of pickle, and the upcharge for more is a bit much. My wife had the cuban which was not quite as good as 7-11's, but not bad. Overall, I am not likely to return.

I should probably start by saying that I never went to the old location. So, this is the first time for me to experience The Big Chill. The business has been around forever so they've got to be doing something right, right? For me, it was just meh. I ordered a daiquiri, which mind you, is not usually my thing. However, they appear to be their specialty as there are about 15 machines at the bar spinning brightly colored frozen drinks. Also, they were on special for happy hour at $4 a piece. So, I tried a Citron one, which tasted to me like extra sweet watered down frozen lemonade. Not impressed. For my second drink I switched to a gin martini, which I'm happy to say that the bartender kept simple and classic. I know, I know, I never like sweet drinks anyway so I should have just gone straight for the gin martini. So much for branching out and trying something new. Our server was nice enough, but she did make two annoying mistakes. Listen up, gal-- First of all, when I pay a tab for 2 drinks with a $20 bill, don't ask me if I need change. I'm sorry but I am not tipping you $8 for 2 drinks. Also, when I tip you in cash, please bring me the correct change. Don't assume that I do not want my quarters back. Honestly, these things want make me want to tip you less! (And I have worked in the service business for many years myself!) So many other great places to drink in town, I doubt I'll waste my money here.

We came here today for lunch before a rafting trip. I asked a friend, who is a local, where we should eat and this place was one of her favorites. My girlfriend and I split a Fried Green Tomato BLT neither of us were very hungry but I'm glad we ordered food. The sandwich was great! They and drink specials as well which we expected for early Sunday afternoon. The drinks were reasonably priced and not too strong or weak. Our waiter Kelly was very friendly and super talkative, which I enjoy in a waiter. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be back by!

My girlfriend just had a revolting experience this evening. She ordered an entree and pulled a hair out of her mouth. Then she finds another. She complains and is told, "Well, we're not corporate, so the cooks don't have to wear a hair net. Well, that settled that. The manager refused to come out and talk. Finally, the waiter offered to replace the salad for free, which wasn't the food item in question. Classy. My girlfriend's still hungry, so she tries to order the dish again, knowing that she'll be charged again. They loaded triple the amount of onions on it as the previous time, as a kind of barbed insult, which made it inedible. After that point, she just gave up and left. Stay classy, Big Chill.

Great place to have a drink . The mix is good and cold. One of my favs is the orange cream. After two I have to eat so I can walk. And the chicken fingers and fries are delicious. They have a D.J on Friday and Saturday and the music is good

BIg open bar, diverse menu. When you walk in you seat yourself and the server will find you right away. The menu was pretty diverse. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was decent. Medium well but it was more on the well done side, d-ry. We also had the philly cheese steak sliders and they were very good. Delicious. I could see coming back again. Pretty decent place.

Some friends and I stopped in for a quick drink before lunch the other day. I'd never been to the original location but was curious to see this one since I used to live in one of the apartments upstairs (before The Big Chill opened). We sat at the bar, and as soon as we walked in the bartender asked me what I wanted to drink. Since I'd never been there before, I told her I'd need just a minute to glance over their drafts and daiquiri offerings. She scowled at me, went on to ask my friends for their orders and then didn't come back for 10 minutes. She stood there at the end of the bar, doing nothing, glancing at me every once in a while, and then finally came back over and said "Have you figured out what you want yet?" I ordered a beer, and she filled it up to the brim and then set it down hard in front of me, causing it to all spill over and run down the sides of the glass. "Sorry about that," she smirked. Despite having a rag in her back pocket, she just walked away. So I had to lean over the bar and grab several cocktail napkins to clean up both the bar in front of me and my glass. Honestly, I don't think asking for just a minute to peruse the drink selection of a place you're not familiar with is a big deal, especially when it's not busy, but she seemed to take offense to that. Maybe she was having a bad day, but the experience makes me not want to ever go back. There are so many other bars on the North Shore, I can't see wasting my time or money going back to The Big Chill.
