We were seated and greeted promptly. I should mention we purposely missed the brunch crowd by going at 1:30. I'd urge you to do the same. The hazelnut coffee is delicious and I really love the table carafes and water pitchers. Such a nice touch. I consider myself an Eggs Benedict snob/ enthusiast and The Egg & I did not disappoint! I'd venture to say, it was some of the best Eggs Benedict I've had in Nashville so far. I could literally drink the hollandaise sauce as a smoothie. My mom had the walnut chicken salad; she is gluten and dairy free and so was limited by the menu options, but I didn't take away a star for lack of dietary options because she really enjoyed her salad. It's great to have a good breakfast restaurant nearby! Highly recommend!

My dad and sister and I stopped by here for a simple breakfast near our hotel. The Egg & I is a homey restaurant with very accommodating staff (a little too accommodating sometimes, I will explain), and just plain good food. If Goldilocks thought Denny's was too cheap and greasy, and champagne brunch was too uptight, she would think "The Egg and I " was juuuuuust right. The three of us had some time to chat and look over the menus, and honestly we were not annoyed with the amount of time we were waiting. We weren't exchanging dirty glares with the local waiters. We have experienced worse wait times in southern California restaurants, but I guess you have to when you live there. Probably about ten minutes in, and a dainty little waitress gasps, "Has anyone taken care of you yet?!? OH MY GOSH I'M SO SORRY!" At first I felt really bad and we convinced her that it was ok! I guess she wasn't even supposed to be our waitress in the first place, but she took care of us. Except she kept apologizing! I feel horrible though, I'm sure someone must've been getting a whipping in the kitchen because SEVERAL wait staff including a manager came out to apologize to us. Half of these people we had never met until we were already sitting down and eating! We were brought better eggs and bacon even though we hadn't complained about the ones we had! I'm definitely not trying to complain about getting even better service! I'm just a little worried that the wait staff there might be getting treated pound dogs getting backed into a corner because they don't want to get kicked. So just so the staff knows: my veggie frittata was filled with a crapton of cheese, which i loved; my sister ate her eggs and bacon that your cook staff prepared so well; the pumpkin waffles were a nice seasonal touch and we loved drenching it in butter and syrup....but we don't want you to apologize anymore! WE LIKE YOU GUYS!! :)

It was great. I had not been to one previously . The interior was comfortable and homey. I had the Greek Frittata and tried the Parisian eggs Benedict. Both were delicious. It was much better than I expected. Reasonably priced. The coffee was good, carafe on the table for refills. Our server was knowledgable of the menu, gave great recommendations and was friendly. Definitely superior in food and service to First Watch. Parking was terrible.
(4)David S.
This place is still jelling, but after a second visit I had to rethink. Blueberry pancake. Two eggs. Sausage. Coffee. Tip. Thirteen bucks. For BREAKFAST? Not doing that again. The sausage may have a following somewhere, but not on my taste buds.
(2)Kati H.
We beat the rush this morning (just barely!) and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. I had the Parisian Benedict and my husband had the Santa Fe Huevos. We were both really pleased with our dishes - I would recommend them both, and definitely check out the ranch potatoes! They were delish. Service was friendly and attentive. We will be back!
(4)Sunny B.
This place is OK. Will I come back? Maybe. It's not awful. The food is absolutely decent Here's the deal, you have First Watch, Vittles, Puffy Muffin, Panara, The Perch and Cracker Barrel close by. With SOOOO many breakfast options why would I settle for this particular badly designed (as in the design of the restaurant, not to mention the kirklandesque decorating) overcrowded chain? If you need to try it, do. Just lower your expectations an go at a odd hour (3pm maybe?) and you'll be happy.
(2)Mistye A.
Ive yet to have breakfast but lunch is great. Today the chicken salad sandwich on raisin toast. Excellent. Waiters are attentive as well. I always set outside. Which I love.
(5)Heidi M.
It was ok. My eggs were a little overdone on eggs Benedict, it was freezing inside, but good overall.
(3)Pam H.
I've eaten at the Egg & I twice since they opened and am very excited they are open. Nashville doesn't have many options for breakfast, so I'm sure they will do well. The service on both visits was excellent! I love that they bring a carafe full of ice tea so I don't have to wait for refills. On the first visit I ordered the Greek Frittata and it was excellent. I'd definitely recommend it if you like pesto sauce, mushrooms, & artichoke hearts. Yesterday I ordered the Eggs Benedict which wasn't as good. It was kind of cold and the side of grits were awful. The hollandaise sauce was good! We will go back.
(4)Jay W.
The wait was absurd and well beyond the time quoted to us on arrival. The explanation was that the kitchen was backed up, but the staff should have at least seated people to alleviate the uncomfortable crowding in and outside of the entrance. Not worth it - go to Panera or FirstWatch.
(1)D Y.
Staff were friendly and accommodating. We asked to make changes an order after it was served to us and they did it without extra charge. I would come back again.
(4)Mir W.
I've tried this place 3 times so far and I've never been let down!
(5)Dana F.
Been here a few times now. My first couple of meals (the Colorado Jack and the Egg Byte omelettes) were on the bland side. But the Mexican Omelette is terrific. Full of flavor! Very fast food delivery too - much faster than First Watch.
(4)Aubrey C.
Great chicken ranch wrap:) if they only served mimosas I would have given 5 stars! The service was slow, but the staff was very apologetic and energetic.
(4)Brian A.
I took my aunt and uncle here for brunch today. Kinda went here on a whim since it is close to I-65. Got a seat right away. The food was excellent. Our server Michelle was great (and cute too). I will definitly be back.
(5)P C.
Nice place and great breakfast, didn't charge for the egg Benedict after I found a hair and made me a new one. I wouldn't sign off yet because of the hair incident, unless it happens again to me! I feel that the house coffee should be included in the breakfast
(4)Laura R.
Service isn't always the fastest when they're busy but it's still pretty good. Exactly what I expected and wanted every time I was there. Big fan of the Santa Fe huevos. And live that they bring a whole carafe of coffee for easy and fast refills.
(5)Melissa D.
Good spot for breakfast. Went during an off time and still had to wait, but I take that as a positive. Many good options on the menu. Thanks for the suggestion yelp!
(4)Jerry C.
I am hesitant to write this review as I waited 10 minutes for a table on a Friday at 10:30 am so the word is already out there. This is a great place for breakfast. I think they have worked out the kinks of a new location. Eggs were perfect, potatoes had nice flavor. Order came out quick. Waitress checked in on me. Sweet!
(5)Morgan C.
Since I am from Miami , we don't have many good American breakfast joints. This is a clean nice modern restaurant , with Greta food and good service. We were a large group and the waitress still handle it like a champion . The food was awesome the corn beef hash was good and the wheat pancakes Omgosh! Amazing. Good coffee and biscuits . The jam is so good I almost stole the bottle wow. Good location.
(4)Jacob V.
We decided to give this place a shot, after seeing it the last few months. Luckily there was no wait, so we were quickly seated, but that's about where the experience began to decline. After waiting a good 5-10 minutes, we were approached by a server who took our drink orders, and didn't return for another 5-10 minutes. We finally received our drinks, and wanted to go ahead and order the food, which took another several minutes. After 20 minutes or so, the food arrived. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. On par with IHOP or other chains, but we've definitely experienced better in other locally owned eateries. Honestly, the food was fine, but the long wait and inconsistent service is probably the only reason I wouldn't give it 4 stars.
(3)Patrick L.
Quick update. I've been back here several times and have to say the service has been consistently good. So I'm updating to 4 stars. Still a fan of the sausage gravy. :)
(4)Bob N.
Come hungry. The portions can be overwhelming, but they don't sacrifice any quality based on quantity. I had an excellent whole wheat blueberry pancake with two eggs and bacon. The eggs came out at just the right time to be creamy with some resistance. Highly-qualified to feed you breakfast. One knock, bacon was not fresh. I have an issue with precooked pork. I'll be eating here again.
(4)Valerie M.
Finally, a decent breakfast restaurant in the Brentwood area! Now, was that so hard? We visited for the first time this morning, less than a week after they opened. Yes, they're still ironing out kinks. But what they do have is a helping heaping of promise and potential on the barren breakfast landscape. The weak link was the food and even that I would give a solid A- or B+. The atmosphere is cute and comfortable. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming. And the employees were all friendly and eager to please. Here's a link to their website and menu: theeggandirestaurants.co… Their menu offers plenty of egg dishes, breakfast skillets, healthy choices, pancakes, waffles and your standard breakfast fare (bacon, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal). They also bring a carafe of coffee or soft drink to your table for immediate refills. Welcome to the neighborhood, Egg & I. We wish you well and desperately need you here in this cast of mediocrity and fast food.
(4)Elizabeth F.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! From the cute decorations, to the FREE coffee while you wait and the food! Oh the food is AMAZING! Always say yes to the Egg and I!
(5)Lesley N.
First, I'm a huge breakfast fan. If you aren't, don't eat at a restaurant called "The Egg & I" :) Well, they do have sandwiches and stuff... I love this place. I haven't been brave enough to attempt it on the weekend, but I often go for lunch. The restaurant is clean and casual, service has always been awesome, and did I mention the food? MMMmmmMMM, I love food. I love this food. I hope it stays in business, a place for a good breakfast is hard to find, especially if you aren't a fan of chains. Pretty sad when I have to resort to Cracker Barrel :(
(4)Phil S.
Started my day off with a few frustrations so knew I could change the direction of my day with a great breakfast at The Egg and I. Never a disappointment! Ordered the Patriot Waffle and it came dressed like Old Glory! Check out the photo!
(5)Lisa A.
I first tried this restaurant last week. I received a very warm greeting and the service was extremely attentive. The breakfast I ordered was overall very good. The eggs were cooked as ordered. I particularly liked their sausage gravy over a biscuit. However, the ranch potatoes were a little salty for me. In general, it was a very positive experience and there are several lunch dishes I would like to try so I will definitely be visiting again.
(4)Aaron G.
Horrible experience. Their kitchen management supposedly kept us from being seated. 6 visible open tables with so many people waiting at the front of the restaurant that there was a fire hazard. I asked if we could be seated while we wait on the kitchen. The host noted that his manager just said to told tables. So we waited 45 minutes while watching 6 tables sit, Perfectly cleaned, empty. No effort to explain except to say that the kitchens backed up. Save yourself some time and frustration and go to The Well coffeehouse 5 shops down. Reasonable prices, great coffee and a wonderful environment. Oh, and we didn't wait at all. Straight in, order and sit down. Will NEVER try the egg & I and I hope this saves you the trouble of a wasted morning standing around looking at confused hosts.

This is one of the few places I actually wish I could give half a star. I understand busy breakfast restaurants but this service was this completely unacceptable. After running in the Country Music Marathon this morning we headed to this place because it was near our hotel. We sat at our table for at least five minutes before someone came over to offer us water and coffee. At that point we were ready to order so the waitress took our order as well. 30 minutes later our food finally came out however my moms dish was completely wrong. The waitress acknowledged this and sent it back. Another 15 minutes passed (once I had already finished eating) and her new plate finally came out. And it was only like warm. The waitress made no effort to apologize. I don't usually leave negative reviews but o want others to be warned. Avoid this place there's PLENTY of other great options in Nashville.
(1)Tram N.
A nice breakfast/brunch place with great attentive service. I opted for the Parisian Benedict with fruit which reminded me of the the Croque Madame (savory and light). It is one of the few brunch places that offers grapefruit juices which helped me out with digesting this yummy dish. I also tried the ranch potatoes which seemed a bit salty, however, it is the norm here in the South. The portion sizes are filling and satisfying. I will probably try out the pancakes the next time I come in, they look delish.
(4)Jessica R.
This place is a favorite. My husband and I like to grab breakfast here on days off or after early-morning errands. If you like eggs Benedict, then try the Parisian Benedict. I've had this several times, and I just can't get enough! The service sometimes leaves something to be desired, but our experiences are overall quite good.
(4)Marcus B.
I've eaten at a lot of breakfast places over the years. This is probably my favorite breakfast spot in the Nashville metropolitan region. I came during a time where the place was a bit packed (Sunday brunch), so service was a bit slow. However, it wasn't at all unbearable. Our server- Karen- was unbelievably sweet and attentive throughout the entire meal. Consider yourself lucky if your party gets her. On to the food. I ordered the Apple Cinnamon Pancake with two sausage patties and scrambled eggs w/cheese. The pancake alone was delicious. There are apple slices INSIDE the pancake. I was very impressed with that nice, unexpected addition. Usually restaurants just use apple flavoring or toss sliced apples on the top. Kudos to The Egg and I for that brilliantly simple idea. The eggs were perfect. Gold and fluffy with just the right amount of cheese. I inhaled those things. Oh yeah. The pancake had cinnamon butter on it. This guy is a huge fan. I also ordered the Texas skillet. It was a mistake. Not because it was bad! Omg! It was incredibly delicious. I didn't realize how large the Apple Cinnamon Pancake was until I saw another server bringing it to someone else's plate. Initially I was disappointed that hashbrowns weren't on the menu. The ranch potatoes completely changed my mind. They were so good! I need to learn how to make them. The veggies were cooked just right and the seasoning was excellent. I swapped the English muffin out for a biscuit. I probably shouldn't have done that. I believe no two restaurants make biscuits exactly the same. Unfortunately I was very disappointed in the biscuits here. They were blah. The flavor was nothing to write home about and the texture wasn't soft or remotely palatable. Maybe I had a really bad one or something. I couldn't finish all of that food. I ordered too much. Fortunately I got a carry out tray. I finished eating around (tapped out) around 12:20 this afternoon. I still haven't eaten anything else at the time of this review (17:35). I'm not at all hungry! I WILL be returning with a bigger appetite and more friends.
(5)Jim H.
My first visit to this restaurant was a Thursday morning at 7:30 AM. My waitress (Taylor?) was attentive and very friendly, for it being early in the morning (ha). I had the scramble eggs with sourdough toast, bacon and breakfast potatoes. In short, everything was cooked very well and tasted good. Not a lot to expand on for breakfast, except that I will be here again.
(4)Kendrick P.
I've never been to a EGG & I establishment but i must say ME LIKEY VERY MUCH!! Customer service was prompt and very friendly. The menu was extensive and Serving sizes are appropriate for the price. I ordered a spinich omelet and mannn it was good! Our wait time was less then 10mins but i do recommend going early in the morning cause normally when i pass by here they are packed out! Couldn't give it 5stars yet due to it being my 1st visit...will update when i return.
(4)Wendy H.
I very eclectic menu with gluten free choices available. A bit pricey but worth it and always a very busy place.
(4)Gary L.
We were interested to try this place for breakfast but now wish we hadn't. The service was impersonal and slow even though the 'restaurant' was only a quarter full. The food (eggs Benedict) was bland and not what was anticipated from an establishment presumably specializing in egg dishes. Untoasted or too lightly toasted muffin, tasteless ham, old or cheap eggs and a totally uninteresting hollandaise sauce. There is nothing like a really good eggs Benedict but this certainly wasn't close. Terrible place and never again.
(1)Tara S.
I love The Egg and I and am excited that they've just opened this location. We used to be regulars when we lived in San Antonio but thought it was just local and said goodbye once we moved to TN. Staff is friendly and prompt. The wait time can be a little lengthy depending on what time of day you go. They only serve breakfast and lunch so they open early and close early. If you arrive within the closing hour be prepared for food that's not as fresh as you'd like. I try not to do this but on the rare occasion that I have it never fails that I get old potatoes or burned toast. Other than that everything is generally good. I've never tried their lunch and always swear the next time I will. My fave has to be the veggie benedict with a side of turkey sausage. Let me say how friggin happy I am that they have a turkey substitute since I don't eat pork! Most places don't which leaves me with a very boring breakfast. My only complaint is my eggs usually come out on the undercooked side so I have to tell them to cook them well and problem solved.
(4)David D.
Sorry. No pics. I'm not taking the time when I'm hungry. Come see for yourself. The food is tasty, visually appealing and satisfying. The staff was friendly but not annoying. The portions are enormous. Parking is a bit of a challenge though.
(5)Mark M.
Very average for a bfast place and for one you have to wait for a seat most of the time. Portion sizes are moderate to small, so if you're over 70 or under 5, it will fill you up. They charge considerably more for their special roast blends of coffee. Tastes no different than their reg coffee. If you're in this area, pay a little more and get better food at First Watch.
(2)Alicia M.
Yep! 5 stars! Leaving this place as I type. Arrived here today around 1015, was greeted and seated promptly. My waitress was at my table no sooner than I sat down. I ordered Caramel roasted coffee(DIVINE AND GAVE ME LIFE)!!!!) and got that within like 60 seconds. I ordered the corned beef hash plate with eggs over medium and english Muffins. Got my food in reasonable time. HOT! PRESENTED WELL! FRESH! TOTALLY FRIGGIN GOOOOOOD!!! It was a nice size serving. Coffee and my meal was $12. Michelle was my waitress and EXTREMELY attentive!!! Can't say that enough! The restaurant staff was very friendly, restaurant itself was clean, and adequate space. Good location. Looks like I found my Saturday breakfast spot! Totally returning!!!
(5)Kathryn D.
Oh my goodness! Well let me just start by saying I thought I would just eat a little. I ordered the apple cinnamon pancake (which was the size of a normal plate) 2 sausages & 2 eggs came with it. I'm here to say, I need a wheelchair to take me to the car! Absolutely the best breakfast I have ever had! If your in Brentwood check them out!
(5)Charles C.
Probably my favorite breakfast restaurant in Brentwood which isn't saying much. They got off to a rough start but the service and food has improved. A good solid place to stop in for a quick breakfast. They also have a large private meeting room. The chicken hash and eggs is pretty tasty if you like spicy and their crab cake benedict is better than most.
(3)Jackie B.
FIVE STARS ALL AROUND! Wish I could give this place more. It's so amazing. MUST TRY THE PANCAKES! They're huge and delicious. SO far I've tried the regular, blueberry, and apple cinnamon. All delicious. Their turkey sausage is also yummy, try it! The servers are all so kind. I will definitely be back for you!!
(5)Cassie S.
Egg-cellent! We came here around noon on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded but not packed. Lots of families before and after baseball/soccer/whatever, but we were not the only childless people in the place. Food was solidly good. Not out of this world, but way better than IHOP. The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose. Serving sizes are appropriate for the price. My favorite part was my Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade). They brought a carafe of it out to the table with my glass so that I could refill throughout breakfast. It was both tasty and very convenient. I would definitely come back!
(4)Dee Z.
After running in the country music 5K this morning, I was looking forward to a really good breakfast. This place was near the hotel so we decided to give it a try. Kind of hard to screw up breakfast. Menu was full of good choices and we thought we were going to have a great experience. Waited over half hour for our food and the order came out wrong. When the waitress finally brought out the right food it was cold and tasted just okay. Coffee was not hot either. Service was weak at best and food was just okay. Would not recommend.
(1)Mindy B.
We waited 1 hour for a table (although we could see empty tables) then 30 minutes for burned French Toast and over cooked bacon. When I asked for the burned French Toast to be replaced, they brought out a slightly less burned version. A couple of other people in my party had the Huevos Rancheros, which was not properly prepared -- ingredients served on top of an uncooked tortilla. Since my group had finished their food, I kept the 2nd attempt but only had a few bites. I asked for a to-go cup of coffee, and the server asked if I needed more creamer, I said yes and she brought the cup, but no creamer. I had to ask for my crappy meal to be taken off our ticket, which the manager did, but she was more curt than apologetic. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I'm not likely to return. There are so many excellent restaurant choices in Nashville, no need to settle.
(2)Ashley B.
We were super excited to try this place . Sadly, it wasn't worth the trip. Food was below average. Customer service was poor. We went on a Wednesday afternoon, the venue was practically empty and it took forever to get our drink order. Needles to say, by check out, I handed the waitress my receipt and credit card in which she smugly accepted and proceeded to scan and then tossed on the counter rather than hand back to me... Whelp, it only takes once to set an impression... A negative one at that. Sorry Egg and I, NEVER AGAIN!
(1)Bryan H.
This place was awesome. Great menu selections, the staff was pleasant, and the wait was almost worth it. Do plan to wait for a table. I had a skillet that I chose the ingredients on, and it was delicious. My son had the typical eggs, bacon, toast, etc. He said it was good. I hope to try more items on the menu the next time we are in town for another soccer tournament.
(4)Rustin C.
My wife and I tried this place this morning. It's a good sign when there's a bit of a wait to get in. After a 30 minute wait, we received immediate service followed by quick drink service and excellent food. Santa Fe Heuvos were perfect at just the right portion size. Eggs were cooked perfectly and tortillas were just crispy enough without being burnt. The sunrise cooler was great too. Really impressed with the restaurant and can't wait to come back. Maybe our new favorite breakfast spot.
(5)Catrien M.
Very tiny waiting area and the hostess and cashier were unfriendly and unorganized, with no sense of urgency. Our server, Lynn, was great. Very nice woman who made our experience enjoyable. The hazelnut coffee was good and I like that they bring a carafe of coffee to leave on the table. French toast and ranch potatoes were good, however the scrambled eggs were complete mush. I couldn't even chew them because they just turned to paste in my mouth. Pretty gross. :-/ I would try this place again because I feel like there could be a hidden gem on the menu somewhere, but there is certainly a few things they could improve on. Prices were reasonable.
(3)Katie P.
I'm in town visiting from Chicago and had already checked out the more "famous" breakfast hot spots, so my family and I decided to check out The Egg and I. Upon review of the menu on their website, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, our expectations were not at all met. After being seated, our waitress promptly took our drink and food orders. That was the last of the "promptness." Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive, which is a little ridiculous considering it's breakfast. How hard can it be to cook up a few eggs and toast some bread? Apparently it's very difficult. My eggs "over easy" were delivered "over hard." I requested new eggs cooked as I had ordered them; they arrived 10 minutes later. Our waitress had a very poor attitude, despite our initial positive demeanors. She clearly was annoyed that we were not satisfied with our overall experience and she did nothing to alleviate our frustration. The manager and GM came over to our table and apologized, but unfortunately didn't do much to reconcile the situation. Our meal was comped, but it was too little too late. As far as the food, it was sub-par. I ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were hard and the gravy was lukewarm. The eggs, well, see above. My sister ordered the huevos rancheros, which she did enjoy.... for a few hours. Let's just say those did not sit well with her. Overall, this was a very poor experience. The place was packed, but I cannot understand why. I would not return.
(1)Stacey M.
My husband was really looking forward to trying out the Egg & I, what a letdown! Our meals, quite frankly, with the exception of the French Toast, were gross. The corned beef hash had an odd, garlicky flavor. My husband's eggs benedict was slathered in flavorless, thin hollandaise sauce. He was starving and didn't even finish it. My french toast was fine but my french toast is better at home. The menu said the orange juice was "freshly squeezed." It was NOT freshly squeezed orange juice! It tasted like "from concentrate" orange juice to me. There's no way we'll ever be back.
(1)JLY J.
Won't be coming back. After ordering waited almost an hour. Got two pieces of chicken on my Mediterranean omelette. The tomatoes on it are not roasted. They are big chunks of soggy tomatoes. Bacon is overlooked and tasteless. French toast was bad quality. The kids waffles were like airy styrofoam. Only thing good about this place was the sweet hostess and server who tried to fix the chicken situation.
(1)T S.
Delicious food and friendly staff. We were in town from MN and decided to stop here for breakfast. The huevo ranchero and ranch potatoes were amazing!
(5)Jo B.
Well it only took us 2 months but we finally got in. When we came before the wait was over an hour! Was it worth the wait? No, not at all. This place is essentially IHOP with a long wait to get in the door, a long wait to get your food and the food is worse than IHOP. It actually makes IHOP look good. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich and my bf had a club sandwich. I asked for bacon only on my sandwich, what I got was bacon, ham and a random piece of chorizo?! The club was no frills, basic club with cheap flimsy bacon. The service was mediocre at best. Like I said long waits. We almost just walked out and went somewhere else. Probably should have. Won't be back. I would rather go to Cracker Barrel any day.
(1)Marie A.
This place is so cute. The customer service was amazing. The food was good. I would recommend it. I just didn't enjoy the things I ordered as much as I enjoyed everyone else's that was with me. Lol I ordered the chicken apple sausage omelet.
(4)Martha K.
My husband and I are new to the area and tried out The Egg & I for the first time a few weeks - amazing! Delicious food, awesome service, convenient location! They have eggs benedict at least 6 different ways and I've had 2 of them now but plan to try them all eventually. It's also convenient that they bring a carafe of coffee to the table so we could refill our cups exactly when we wanted. :)
(5)Patrick S.
Went in Monday @ 6:30am. Almost walked out after waiting so long, but a nice lady came and sat me. As 7 more tables filled, it dawned on me that she was the only help. The service was poor, with just one waitress 'cause everything just dragged on. The food was very average at best. Huevos Scramble was cold and bland. There's simply better places to choose from.
(2)James G.
Grits are runny and the coffee is weak. Service was good. Not worth the money.
(2)Liz H.
Had high hopes for this breakfast place. The wait was very long, but the service was good. I ordered two eggs over easy and they came out over hard and extremely greasy. The bacon and potatoes were good. My toast came out 10 minutes after the rest of my food and was charred on the edges. There were a couple people who were finished at a table when we were waiting for our table and were still there when we left... Not the restaurant's fault, but come on people. Don't do that on a Sunday morning when there's a 45 minute wait.
(2)Omari P.
This place was great!!! Good service, FAST SERVICE (food came out like under 10 mins no lie), great food. Not busy during the weekday.
(5)Wayne S.
I've been here twice now after moving to the area from Nevada. Eggs Benedict was good and the standard "2 egg breakfast" is perfect. I'll probably be a regular.
(5)Aileen K.
Excellent food. Six of us went and all had great good. Service was excellent (thanks John Michael ). My scrambled eggs were fluffy and the whole wheat toast was bakery good. Will definitely go back. Only negatives were decaf coffee was not good - very weak. Check out system needs to be reworked. A bottleneck between cashier and hostess.
(4)Mark H.
OK...I will start off by saying you should take this review with a grain of salt because of how new the restaurant is. So, here goes. I ordered take-out before work and I will say that the speed of having the order placed and ready to go was fantastic---maybe only 8 minutes or so. Also, the staff I encountered were all friendly. However, when I got to work I was less than impressed with the food. The eggs, bacon, and potatoes were all under cooked. Not bad tasting, mind you, just under cooked. I also had a biscuit and gravy which was just ok. It was a simple case of had better had worse. I temper all of those comments because I would assume the kitchen staff is new and might not have a ton of experience yet. That all being said, I will be back to give them another shot. Maybe for lunch so I can make an accurate comparison. I think the star rating will rise after some future trips, there are just some new bugs to work out.

This place was fabulous. It's family owned and family run (there's a sign at the front), the food and service were truly wonderful. Our server, Sharon, was very knowledgeable and honest about what was good - what she liked and what she didn't. I had the spinach mushroom omelette. Crepes were good. Thanks so much. P.S. After I left this good review, I read the other (bad) reviews. Our experience was wonderful, and it left me wondering if the somewhat older clientele of this restaurant, people who would give place five stars, might not write Yelp reviews like younger folks , thereby giving this place only an average of 3 1/2 stars. I thought it was really a nice place with great food.

My first visit and the place was packed. Food was worth the wait! Large variety of food to choose from. Good sized portions. Our service was slower but we went at a busy time of day. One meal came out much later than the others at our table and without us asking or complaining, the manager came over and apologized and comped her next meal. We were very impressed to say the least. He also thanked us for being so understanding! Will go back for the great food and customer service!

I'm going to step out on a limb and say that this is, hands-down, my favorite breakfast place so far in Nashville area. I've even been to other Egg And I restaurants in Colorado. My wife eat at the one in Parker CO, on average, once a week before we moved. The service has been nothing short of excellent. I've never heard a negative word from one of staff. I've never seen them roll their eyes at a customer. I've never seen them get annoyed with each other. They all seem to work well with each other and they treat their customers like family. As for the food, I've never been disappointed. I eat very traditional breakfast eggs meat and a pancake. My wife likes all the different memorable egg entrees and raves about the hollandaise sauce. The best part of the menu is the fact that you can play with most dishes. Don't like onions, no problem -- they'll take them out. It is all made fresh. Want fruit instead of potatoes? Done -- and with no additional charge. They have something for everyone, The coffee is excellent as well. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

My first visit to The Egg and I. thought it'd start with the basic sausage, eggs, and potatoes and see how it compares to my other favorite breakfast spots. Coffee is good and they leave the pot on the table. check. My order of 2 scrambled eggs look like 3 eggs, cooked right and hot. check. sausage patties a little spicy but good. check. potatoes were good, with a little crunch to them. check. now to other considerations. table service was prompt, friendly. food was quick and fresh and hot. didn't care for the lady vacuuming beside my table as I was eating. this restaurant will work for me. price was probably 10-20% higher than what I expected but I get a senior discount so I'm happy and stuffed.
(3)Luis C.
It will not be my fav spot to go for brunch. No mimosas. Attetion was good but food was tipical. It is not bad place to eat. Food was not bad. If you like normal and not out of the ordinary go here!.
(3)Jonathan A.
Food was ok. It is hard to mess up eggs. Service was bad. Fairly empty restaurant so no excuses. I have no reason to go back.
(2)Reggie B.
Food was really good! I had the apple turkey croissant. The price was a major mood killer though. Almost 13 bucks for a sandwhich and a sweet tea! Food was good, but not that good.
(3)Brian K.
Don't go out of your way for this one. Slow service & mediocre food. I swear they had one cook in the kitchen.
(2)Kristin S.
This is an average breakfast place in my opinion compared to many other great places in Nashville. I was a little disappointed because I had heard such great reviews. The logistics of how the front is set up with paying/hostess table is poor as well. I may return every once in a while, but nothing to rave about
(3)Amy C.
The eggs are cooked in a bag. The bacon tasted like rubber. Overpriced. The cashier was rude, she didn't say hi to us or ask us how our food was. We will not be back.
(1)Aileen K.

Pretty sad when I have to resort to Cracker Barrel :(
(4)Wayne S.
I've been here twice now after moving to the area from Nevada. Eggs Benedict was good and the standard "2 egg breakfast" is perfect. I'll probably be a regular.
(5)Bryan H.

(1)Kat L.
(5)Karila S.
(4)Liz H.

(1)Phil S.
Started my day off with a few frustrations so knew I could change the direction of my day with a great breakfast at The Egg and I. Never a disappointment! Ordered the Patriot Waffle and it came dressed like Old Glory! Check out the photo!
(5)Tram N.

(4)Mindy B.

Delicious food and friendly staff. We were in town from MN and decided to stop here for breakfast. The huevo ranchero and ranch potatoes were amazing!

This place is so cute. The customer service was amazing. The food was good. I would recommend it. I just didn't enjoy the things I ordered as much as I enjoyed everyone else's that was with me. Lol I ordered the chicken apple sausage omelet.

Grits are runny and the coffee is weak. Service was good. Not worth the money.

This place is still jelling, but after a second visit I had to rethink. Blueberry pancake. Two eggs. Sausage. Coffee. Tip. Thirteen bucks. For BREAKFAST? Not doing that again. The sausage may have a following somewhere, but not on my taste buds.

Ive yet to have breakfast but lunch is great. Today the chicken salad sandwich on raisin toast. Excellent. Waiters are attentive as well. I always set outside. Which I love.

It was ok. My eggs were a little overdone on eggs Benedict, it was freezing inside, but good overall.
