Discovered Satay a few weeks ago tucked in a strip mall in Brentwood. So so good! Freshly made to order. Their chicken spicy pad Thai is a lunch and takeaway favorite. Nice staff and great portions at great price. Love this little place!!

Love love love the food here! Fresh ingredients. Just yummy with good prices:) I eat the veggie Panang curry with an order of fresh rolls... I recently fell In love with the mango and sticky rice as well. This place is a definite hidden gem.. It's never too busy, always just right... They also do Togo orders:) I've had them cater my birthday party! I just can't get enough of this place :)

I've eaten at every Thai restaurant in town and have curry at least twice a week... Satay Thai Grill's red curry with chicken and green curry with chicken are hands down the BEST in Nashville... Period. I want to drink/bathe in it... It's that good. I try to save half of it (operative word: *try*) so I can eat it again for breakfast or lunch the next day... It sounds weird, but it's the kind of curry you want to eat 3 times day. Also, if you want authentic pad thai and satay chicken they are both legit, too.

Used a living social coupon for $10, got the pan friend dumplings, noodle, spring roll Being the great "yelper" and food enthusiast that i am, doesn't necessarily mean i gots the dough for all these restaurants. I depend on the lovely establishment likes living social and groupon to do that for me. Anyways, i used my living social couple here, even though expired, i used the $10 but couldn't use the $20. I took my family, mom and pop, and myself to sit down and have some snacks. What did we get: Pan Fried Dumplings, spring rolls (veggie) and "noodle salad". Total came to be about $12.00. The pan fried dumplings were delicious, you got about 5 small dumplings with a great sauce! It was about $4.95, the spring rolls were the same and were tasty but can you really go wrong with fried rolls and then the noodle salad is what i really was surprised about. You got glass noodles for $2 but if you just added salt and some spicy sauce and its delicious. Good overall atmosphere and small place in a small area! PS. Fresh flowers!

My coworkers and I visited last week. We were happy to see a new place in the Maryland Farms culinary wasteland. All these office workers stuck with nothing good to eat! Other than replacing the Quizno's sign, Satay didn't change anything about the decor when they moved it. Same wallpaper, counter, and open kitchen area. The menu was a little confusing with very little description -- what comes with the Curries, steamed rice, fried rice? The food was good. I had a very nicely done basil fried rice and spring rolls. The rolls were slightly over cooked, but still good. Most surprisingly though was the pricing. Compared to other Thai places like Royal Thai and Jasmine, Satay was very expensive. Each of our lunches was 50% higher than a similar meal at Royal Thai or Jasmine, which both have a lunch menu that includes an entree and spring rolls or soup for around $8. So, given the relative lack of value compared to other equal quality restaurants, I'm probably not a return visitor.

Pretty lame for lunch. Spring rolls were mainly rolled dough with zip inside. Soup was overpriced for what we got! Better options all around the area.

So thai food is one of my favorite cuisines! I rated this place as average, I think it would have been higher if I had ordered something different off of the menu. But first off, this little hole in the wall place is very odd. It's pretty small and the tables are kind of weird. My sister and I went there around 2 PM, and nobody was there. We were greeted by one lady who was basically the hostess, waitress and cook. We ordered our food and then she went back to the kitchen which was in the same area just covered by some bamboo shutters. We could hear her cooking and humming...it was odd. I ordered the chicken satay with rice and veggies. It came with this delicious thai peanut sauce that I put on everything. The rice was your typical boiled rice, and the veggies were very fresh. The chicken was not a huge portion and was kind of salty. my sister got the drunken noodles and loved them. I think if I was to try something more traditional it might have been better. Another odd think, was that they gave you a bottled beverage. I guess they don't have a soda machine. It was 14 bucks for the soda and entree.

I absolutely love Thai food and I almost always order my favorite Massamun curry chicken at every Thai place I try so needless to say I have tried A LOT of different types of this same dish. Satay Thai's version was okay...not awesome but not bad either. I have had this curry with a thicker sauce and with a soupy sauce and Satay makes theirs on the soupy end. They put some random veggies in it like carrots and tomatoes which was a little different than the usual peppers/onion/potato combo that it normally comes with and I can't say it added anything extra to the dish. I ordered my food to go and I liked that they packaged the curry/chicken/veggies separate from the rice so it didn't all get soggy but overall the meal experience was just okay- nothing to write home about, just on Yelp.

The Red curry with chicken is phenomenal!! Can't get enough of it!! They don't take Amex, but do take Visa/MasterCard.

Nice waiter service at calm Satay Thai restaurant combined with moderately priced Thai-American fusion make it drive-worthy. Skewed Asian barbeque tofu, chicken and beef interpretations add to the local dining palate. I like the side house salad that comes with the satay along with a choice of noodles or rice side item. Sengthong Presertsinh's place is a positive addition to the Brentwood barbeque scene.

I've eaten at every single Thai restaurant in Nashville (and multiple times at most of them...) and this one is far and away my favorite; YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT TO ORDER. All the people below who have given bad reviews ordered something different from their best dishes (trust me, I've tried all their dishes) BEST DISHES ON THE MENU: TOM YUM SOUP (absolutely delicious here) DRUNKEN NOODLES (honestly it's a must order; I've never tasted anything so good in my life. Much better than any other drunken noodle that you will ever try). SPICY BASIL FRIED PORK WITH SUNNY SIDE UP EGG CURRY NOODLES BASIL STIR FRY other than these items, everything else is definitely very good, but these items are the reason why I return there again and again. As for the "small, odd environment" that someone mentioned: it's run by a husband and wife, two of the nicest people ever. While it may be a small "hole in the wall" place, this is partly why it's so good: the food is always made fresh, always comes out super quickly (way under 10 Minutes), and the service is friendly and personable; you're talking to the chefs! IN CONCLUSION: TRY DRUNKEN NOODLES AND TOM YUM SOUP. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU FOLLOW THIS ADVICE. I PROMISE.

Expensive and inconsistent. I have been here twice, both times getting the Tom ka and pad thai. The first visit was quite good. The pad thai was very spicy and the Tom ka had a wonderful balance. I went yesterday and my pad thai was weak and my soup was too salty. Chicken in both dishes tasted old and a little gamy. My pad thai had tons of salad greens carelessly mixed in. It was definitely an accident but it was a small salads worth and i had to spend several minutes picking out wilted lettuce. It was on top and bottom of the noodles...still not sure how it happened. Not great when the meal was 14 dollars and I could get better at Thai Kitchen for half the price.

WOW!!! The food was awesome. The best in nashville area compare to bigger city. The food is so authentic. Waitress is super friendly and nice. The price are very reasonable. I don't see someone like 'Blue L' would say the food are expensive if you want cheap food then you should go to buffet all you can eat. Sometime cheapskates should not go out to eat!!! They have the best Thai Tea ever!!! Some other restaurant uses very little tea leaves. My hubby and I always order Fresh roll. Their Fresh Roll is one of the kind, and the sauce is sooo good. We pretty much order everything on the menu, no complaint so far. Tiger Tear salad (sliced warm beef & mint & cilantro & crush rice with lime vinaigrette) was well seasoned and flavorful. I think 'Angie A' never ate authentic thai food before and she cannot judge the restaurant based on her hillbilly tastebud LOL

I have had better thai around this same area and so was not too impressed. ( And I am not even comparing this place to other places in Nashville) I had Massaman curry for lunch which was just OK. Not terribly bad, but I have had much much better curries elsewhere. The portion size was very small for the price. Other Thai places around here have good lunch prices with spring roll/soup included. The staff was friendly and nice but that's all I liked. Maybe I should have ordered something else, but for me this was an OK experience. Maybe next time I am here, i will try something else.

Surprised to see all the unhappy reviews of this place. Been coming at least twice a month since they opened, and have been very happy with the service and food. No, it is not the best food in the world, but for Brentwood it is great. Usually get chicken curry, soup, noodle dish like pad see ew, or the salmon with brown rice. Sticky rice desert and bread pudding are both great desserts.

The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because the people working there were pleasant. I had Tom Kha soup and a tiger tear salad with a side of white rice & Iced Thai tea as beverage. The soup was over flavored with lime and not good. The beef in the salad had a grayish tint to it and was dry& flavorless; it was served on a bed of cut romaine and had slivered onions. I was so scared of the flavor & color of the meat that I only ate 2 bites. I ordered rice with it because the salad at other Thai restaurants are so hot and flavorful that rice is needed to cut down the heat a bit. The rice itself tasted like it came out of a boil in a bag. Very disappointing , 17$ lunch. I guess my first sign should have been the empty Brentwood restaurant at 12:15 on a Thursday.

Sorry to say but the Pad Thai was really not good at all. Too sweet and tasted like it came from a can with no meat to speak of; bland and no fresh bean sprouts. Disappointing! I have eaten at many Thai restaurants and this one doesn't make the grade. The soup was good, but watery with no spices. Spring rolls in rice paper were beautifully presented, but lacked seasoning. I'm afraid I could never eat there again; plus the prices for lunch are outrageous for what you get. They need lunch specials and new recipes. Decor was nice, but television was playing and cleaning supplies were all around the floor, which should be out of sight. Wish they could fix these problems, but I gathered from the waitress they really aren't interested in improving.

Enjoyed lunch here...got seated right away. Very pleasant waitress! Tom Yum Chicken soup was very tasty yet loaded with tomatoes which I was not expecting. Pad Thai descent but more tomato based than I prefer, the house salad was delicious although I had to dig past a large tomato slice on top...seeing a pattern here. Only problem is I am not a fan of tomatoes. But all in all, a very good enjoyable lunch!
