Yummy food, great service. I recently visited Mere Bulles during a team lunch for work. I had the prime rib sliders, broccoli, and the she-crab bisque soup. Overall, I was pleased with my meal. I would have liked to see more au jus served with the sliders because the ratio was a little off and the level of my enjoyment of the bisque would have been higher if there weren't pieces of shell in the soup. While it was a nice restaurant, I was surprised to see a TV in the dining room. Seemed kind of out of place given the ambiance.

Nice, "fancy" restaurant in a small Nashville suburb. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be dressed nicely. Outdoor and indoor seating. Good service. Food was not great. I had the petite filet which was soaked in some sort of very thick, heavy, rich, blue cheese and corn(?) sauce and came with a large helping of mashed potatoes. Too much food on one plate and the food didn't look too appetizing. My mom had the salmon special which she enjoyed. Overall, nice atmosphere and large portions of extremely rich and creamy foods which I am not a fan of.

Gorgeous antebellum home transformed into a fine dining restaurant. The lobster tail and prime rib were divine. Crab bisque was delish but filling (small size was plenty for an appetizer!). Only negative is that the roast potatoes were too salty. But a great place for a special occasion with a home style feel.

Delicious food and fantastic service from start to finish. I have only been twice and had a salmon entree both times, the salmon was fresh and plated with beautiful vegetables. The services was perfect, had the pleasure of being seated in Robert's section twice, he is truly a professional. I will upgrade them to a 5 once I try something else on the menu.

I love the decor and vibe of this place more than anything. Was visiting for business and it was a great choice. It's more on the fine dining side and service was impeccable! Overall, the food was good. All apps were tasty- calamari, green beans, and crab cake. Their bisque soup though... (what they're known for) is AMAZING. Everyone enjoyed their entrees but my salmon was extremely dry so I ate everything but the salmon. However, the desserts made up for it. The carrot cake is so moist and different than your avg carrot cake and the creme brûlée, specifically the toffee flavor is the best I've ever had!

In love! The location is a antebellum home redone as event venue. Everything is fabulous. Crab bisque is DIVINE! The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and finished off with chocolate decadence! Great food, great service and great service!!!

I've been to Mere Bulles twice now. To be honest, the first time we went for dinner with friends at their suggestion, I thought it was going to be stuffy and kind of blah. Not at all. We had a great time and our whole group loved their selections. Second visit was a couple weeks ago and I took a friend there for her birthday lunch. Our server, wish I could remember her name, was delightful. She gave us the history of the place which was fun to learn and she was just spot on with service and attention. I had the salmon salad and it was perfect. My friend enjoyed her Black & Bleu salad and they brought her a dessert for her birthday. Long, leisurely lunch...we never felt rushed. The atmosphere is lovely and even though they were swamped at lunch time, it didn't feel chaotic. I am sold on Mere Bulles and I know I'll be back several times.

Upscale! My friends and I went here for a Sunday brunch buffet and this was just very rich fancy folk southern to me - a northern girl! It's in a gorgeous mansion/home type set up. Parking is right in front of the building and convenient. Once you walk in there is a greeter who will assist you in finding a place. For me, I knew where I was headed and I just let them know I was meeting a 7 top table in the back left. You simply get up, grab a plate, and either grab food or hand your plate to a cook who will prepare crepes, pancakes, etc. I had the crepes with strawberry and they were fabulous! The cooks were so friendly and a joy to chat with while we waited for my crepes to finish warming up. If you're looking for a homey, warm, rich feeling brunch or meal, try out this treat of a place.

As Candice described prior to my order "the bisque is real good" - so I followed Candice's lead and just went with anything she suggested including a nice bottle of Pinot Noir . The pasta was "ok" needed a little more punch of something...however Candice made my night and she was a pro beyond reproach. I'd give it five starts if the kitchen was a bit more inventive. The bisque BTW - was in fact better than "real good". Good bye Vivian !

Went for Sunday brunch and although there was a good assortment of food, it seemed ordinary for the price.

As others have said, get the she-crab bisque, it's out of this world. Was slightly disappointed in the small portion of shrimp cocktail for the price, and the cocktail sauce was so runny none of it stuck to the shrimp. The prime rib I got at medium rare (only because they'd sold out of the rare) was definitely more medium than medium rare and quite tough, but the girlfriends scallops were on point. Would recommend for sure and will be going back.

I literally have been coming here for the last 15 years. Although once a regular, I now come about once a month...just due to travel schedule. With that said, I've sat at the bar area, regular dining area, private dining, large group dining...even a preset meal for Thanksgiving one year. Through the years, there are constants: the service is at worst B+ (only when it's a newer person) and the food is never worse than an A. Mere Bulles, with all of the varying time slots, seatings, etc remains consistently excellent. My favorite is a basic... The Rib Rolls with fries....YUM.

Today was my first visit to Mere Bulles. I ate there for a business meeting. The parking lot was completely full and so finding a place to park was challenging. The restaurant is an older southern plantation style home and was very nice and had a quant feel to it. All around the service was very good in line with what I expect for a higher-end restaurant. I had a bowl of the famous She-Crab Bisque. It was very good, but not a dish I will be craving or even get next time I dine at Mere Bulles. Their menu was very interesting and I had a hard time selecting my entrée. Ultimately, I went with the catch of the day. The special was a Cajun blackened grouper with wild rice and vegetables. The food was very good, but average for a upscale restaurant. What really set Mere Bulles apart for me was the physical building. It seems to be an older plantation style home. It had a great ambiance and a very nice patio where people were dinning as well. I will definitely be returning.

Seared Tuna is Wonderful! We decided to try this restaurant for Nashville Originals Restaurant Week. I'm so glad we did. The food is wonderful. My meal started with a seared scallop for my appetizer. It was wrapped in bacon and perfectly seared. I ordered the blackened seared tuna for me entree. It was cooked perfectly and served with ginger risotto and Asian vegetables. I finished with the raspberry creme brulee and chocolate torte for dessert. I would have ordered another if I weren't so full as it was amazing. The service was wonderful! Russ took great care of us and was very helpful in the wine selection. Tiziano Chianti was my final decision. I love chianti and this one was a great choice. The building is an old mansion so it has a lot of fascinating history. You can read about it on the menu. It is the perfect place to dine for a romantic dinner. There are also rooms for large groups. The only thing that I would like to see is the paintings dusted more often. We sat at a table with one of the paintings on the wall over the table. There was at least two inches of dust on the frame. I'm sure it just gets overlooked but it would be great to dust the ones hanging over the tables more.

This place markets themselves as a premier steak house...per our waiter. They could not get my husbands steak right to save their life. We sent it back 3 times. And rather than give him a new cut of meat, they just keep butchering it. It was way to rare the first 2 and then way over done the last time. They did comp our entire meal, which was nice and we appreciated that, but it was the least they could do. I had the restaurant week menu. My husband ordered from the regular menu. He ordered the crab bisque and it was delightful. He did notice he had pieces of shell in the soup, but that didn't deter him. Like I said, steak was horrible. He also had the parmesan mashed potatoes as his side. They werent bad, but didn't taste anything like parmesan. Half off bottles of wine..but they do that everyday. Which means they just jack up their wine bottle prices to give you "half off" Beautiful home. Sad to say we will never come back here.

She-Crab Bisque is out of this world. Easily rivals the best Charleston has to offer. I'll be back.

When I heard Restaurant Week was back (Nashville Originals does it twice a year), and Dan only had one night off, I decided we should have a weeknight date at Mere Bulles. It was our first time dining at the restaurant, which despite its French name serves gourmet comfort food. I love that it is in an old historic plantation-style home, smack dab in the middle of Brentwood and surrounded by office parks. It stands out and has a beautiful ambiance. Duke said the building reminded him on Charleston. We decided to stick the Restaurant Week dinner menu, which for $30.13 provided three courses! We also indulged in a great bottle of wine, since the bottles were half price. Can someone say #winning? We both decided to start with the Tomato Caprese salad, which I expected to be the typical sliced mozzarella and tomatoes. Wrong. This was a decadent half tomato with piped mozzarella, balsamic, and olive oil on top. The toast point was a large, warm, garlicky piece of bread, which went perfectly with the salad. I don't eat many veggies, and I ate half of the HUGE tomato. Delicious. (And yes, I know they are really a fruit but indulge me.) We also had warm bread and butter served at the table. For the main course, we both matched again, choosing the Porcini crusted 10 oz. Ribeye steak, balsamic reduction, herb roasted baby carrots, and parmesan new potatoes. This steak was one of the best I've had in a long time. I devoured it. So tender, and so much flavor! The cabernet we had matched perfectly, very smooth and complementary. For dessert, there were two options... so we each chose one to share. Danhad the Petite crème brulee with mixed berries, which also had whipped cream. I had the Chocolate pecan pie, salty caramel Bravo Gelato & caramel rum‐sauce. Everything was delicious, but I think my favorite part of dessert was the salty caramel gelato. We didn't leave any behind! The service was fantastic as well. And the ambiance really reminded me of dining at Savannah's historic restaurants, like the Olde Pink House. What I like about Restaurant Week is the ability to try some of a city's unique restaurants with a reasonable prix-fixe, multi-course menu. (I definitely took advantage in Savannah, too!) I love to indulge in dining out, but sometimes the price point is too steep. Restaurant Week allows the chance to sample someplace you might not have tried otherwise. I loved Mere Bulles, and the great meal we had there definitely makes me want to come back! Duke couldn't believe our bill when it arrived, because it was easily half of what we might have paid if we ordered all of those courses a la carte. And the benefit for the restaurant? Once you've got them hooked, they'll be back.

Since I love what I love after dining at Mere Bulles over the last 13 years, I rarely change my order - a bowl of she-crab bisque and goat cheese salad. I've had crab bisque all over the country, in coastal cities and even in Charleston SC at a restaurant claiming to have the best bisque. Not so. Mere Bulles has the best I've ever had, and no other restaurant has even come close. Since the bisque is so rich, I typically have an accompanying goat cheese salad that includes apples and dried cranberries over a bed of spinach. Mere Bulles is great if dining with a friend or a small group. They are challenging with larger groups, as they refuse to split checks and who carries cash these days? This practice may have changed, but as long as I've been going there, that's been their policy. For a restaurant located in the middle of a very populated business park, I find that practice inconvenient, but it's never stopped me from going there.

Been to Mere Bulls twice while visiting family in Brentwood. It is one of our "must dos" while in Brentwood. I will start by admitting that I've never met a French Toast I didn't like. But the Crème Brule French toast at Mere Bulles deserves 100 stars! It is truly magnificent. Other highlights are the made-to-order omelets, salad bar, crepe station, crispy bacon, chocolate fountain, rich crab bisque and many amazing desserts! Love this place!!

This review is for the Sunday Brunch. It has been a while since last eating here for brunch and I must say they do a great job. It is a bit on the pricy side for breakfast but it is done right. They had an Omelet station, a waffle station and a carving station of Roast Beef. There was a large selection of other breakfast fare including bacon, sausage, home fries and much more. There was also fresh fruit and a selection of desserts. They also had a chocolate fountain. I tend to avoid these. The decor is upscale featuring paintings (offered for sale) table linens and an at home feel. The staff were wonderful and attentive even though the food was a buffet. It has been a while but I will be going back again. If you have never tried the Sunday Brunch you should!

I had my first lunch at Mere Bulles. In jeans, a messy bun, and a little one in tow I felt slightly under dressed and out of place. The dining room was packed full of suits and businessy types. However, it was easy for me to settle in and enjoy eating lunch in such a beautiful old house. Moms beware - there is no kid's menu. For my little one and I to eat lunch and share one dessert it was just under $50. It's certainly not a cheap lunch but was it worth it? Kind of. I enjoyed the experience and the food was above average but for $50 I expect food to not only taste good but to be beautifully presented as an experience and perhaps even locally created. I will probably head somewhere else for lunch next time.

Did you know they deliver? Yep, they sure do! Not sure how far their delivery range is though. You must have the bisque soup at least once. It's fantastic and comforting, but might pack on the lbs if you eat it all the time :) Great place for sharing 1/2 price bottles of wine and a delicious cheese plate with girl friends. In warm weather, my friends and I love relaxing on the patio after work. Great food menu selection... you will not be disappointed.

The Charleston She Crab Bisque was AMAZING! Had a work event here and the staff was super friendly and made the event fun. Loved how they gave the history of the building and the property. Overall just a great experience!

This place didn't have much in the way of vegetarian options with only a couple of options other than salad. They have a stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer but it's made with lobster butter that they can't abstain from using because they make this appetizer ahead of time. Watch out for the salad because they add bacon that's not included in the description. They don't even provide bread for the table.

  • Joshua S.

Ok. Not great. We went for a work lunch. We got a deal but it was with a limited menu. The much-vaunted crab bisque was nothing special, honestly. Maybe in Tennessee that passes for something special, but for an east-coaster who lived in Maryland for 13 years, you're gonna have to try harder. My sliders were good, but they were a little fatty. The bread was gritty with too many grains. The service was good and the orchids on the table were a nice touch, and you can't fault the ambience, but the food just didn't live up to the promise of the building and the reputation.

I've never had a bad meal or service here. This is a go to spot for all the high ranking execs and sales meetings. You must start with the She-Crab bisque and the catch of the day or any lunch special is always a good option. It's about $11-$18 for a lunch entree. Make sure you try the fruit tea at least once, it's very tasty. Excellent cocktail list as well!

Great business dinner: I really wish you could give half stars. I took a client here for dinner and the service was fantastic. Kevin did a great job, recommended a nice white that was middle of the range (and half priced on Mondays) and took very good care of us. We were 5 for dinner and we all had different meals. For appetizers we had the asparagus wrapped in ham, which was nothing special, but the battered and fried artichokes with with Parmesan cheese and a chipotle ranch were outstanding. the steaks were all cooked right and seasoned well. The scallops were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The rice was good, not great, but the sauteed spinach was perfect. fresh, clean and cooked to perfection. Not soggy and overdone like most places. Unfortunately we left no room for desert...next time.

One of our favorite places to dine for special occasions. This evening I had the Mixed Grill; lobster with drawn butter (sweet succulent), black grouper (rich and fresh flavored), asparagus and haricots verte. My wife enjoyed a petite filet mignon (cut with a butter knife, tender) topped with blue cheese (just the correct amount, not over powering), mashed potatoes and Parmesan creamed corn. The Mansion had all the Christmas decorations up and it only added to the elegant relaxed experience. Service was excellent as always.

I love eating here whether for Sunday brunch, lunch, or dinner. The she-crab bisque is amazing and a favorite. The Sunday brunch creme brûlée French toast must be laced with drugs because it's sinful yet irresistible. I've had several dishes here and enjoyed them all. And last but not least, the service here is always exceptional!! This place is a real Southern treat for me and always a NASHVILLE favorite of mine.

The crab bisque is something very special! I could give it 5 stars on that item alone. I had the prime rib for dinner and it was good. The green beans and potatoes keep the overall meal from being 5 star though.

Like many of the reviews, this place is truly upscale and the service was good, food excellent. I was looking for Matlock when I walked in if you know what I mean. You want to dress accordingly. I had the lamb and it was awesome. If you have a special occasion or business deal to close, this is the place.

I liked the atmosphere and the service was pleasant. It was actually the first restaurant that I had been to that was in a house structure. The food was delicious, not too rich or too heavy but indulgent enough. Ingredients felt and tasted fresh. The portions were just right for me; I detest going to fine dining restaurants that serve up large portions. I ate lunch so had no cocktails but would love to try some. I have to say their cakes are to die for - decadent and rich.

Friends invited me to celebrate my Birthday at Mere Bulles Friday evening. Simply put,it was amazing from start to finish! We shared a very nice cheese plate, and I had the Sea Bass, which was one of the best fish dishes I have had! Delicious! 2 extra bonuses of the night-half price bottles of wine, and when the server heard it was my Birthday they brought a huge slice of carrot cake.Wow. It had been a while since I have had dinner at Mere Bulles but I will be back soon!

fYum, yum, yum, and more yum! I cannot even believe how good this place was. The cozy ambiance, the fan-freaking-tastic service, the impeccable food. I am just blown away, honestly! My friend and I arrived around 5 on a Sunday and the place only had about four other tables dining. However, they did get more busy as our dinner went on. I ordered an amazing martini, and my friend ordered a glass of wine to start. We didn't get appetizers, but I really did enjoy the complimentary bread that they brought. I love me some bread and butter :) Per all of the Yelp reviews, I ordered the she-crab bisque. Yelp, you did NOT steer me wrong. This soup was creamy, flavorful, and deserves all of its praise! For our meals, my friend ordered the special fish of the day--the grouper. I ordered the chicken fettucini. Apparently, I only felt like eating cream that night!! ;) But in any case, this was HANDS DOWN the best (BEST and biggest!!) alfredo I have ever had . No joke. I was honestly disappointed when I was full because that meant I couldn't keep eating it. Who says that?! It's a little pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth!! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Three words. She crab bisque. It's a sin to eat here without ordering at least a cup on the side (well, unless you are allergic to seafood). Mere Bulles never disappoints. Located in a beautiful antebellum home, the atmosphere and ambience is nice. The food is always delicious and well prepared. This place is great for a date or a large group dinner. My in-laws held our rehearsal dinner here in 2009 and everything was wonderful. Always great service. The only problem is sometimes I forget about it since it's tucked away in Maryland Farms of Brentwood, a business park area.

Recently ate here for Valentines day, my husband and I decided we wanted to go all out, and booked a table months in advance. I've always wanted to eat here and was very excited for something on the "fancy" side for V-day. We arrived via Uber so we could enjoy ourselves and not have to worry about driving. It only took 10 minutes for our table to become ready and we grabbed a glass of wine in the small bar area while waiting. We were brought upstairs and seated in what was probably one of the best tables in the house, right in front of a fire place, the romance! A huge bonus was the list of wine bottles was 50% off, so getting one was a no brainier. We ordered the calamari to start and really enjoyed it, very delicious crispy batter, the calamari itself was tender, not rubbery at all. Then, the night started to take a down turn. We noticed several tables had bread baskets that we never received, maybe they were only for people who didn't get an appetizer... I also ordered the she crab soup but didn't get it until we reminded our server AFTER our meals came out. I ordered the petite filet minion, medium rare. When I come to a restaurant with steaks of this caliber I want it good and bloody. When I cut into it, it was well done, not a touch of pink. So I sent it back and ate the she-crab soup, which worked out. The soup was phenomenal, some of the best I've had. It was so rich and the bits crab were delicious. The second time my steak came out, it was cook perfectly. It along with the mashed potatoes were delicious. My husband ordered the rib-eye, the most expensive steak on the menu, and was disappointed. It was strangely dry, which almost hard to do for a rib-eye they are basically all fat. The potato pancake he received as a side was also burnt on the bottom. His green beans were out of this world, they were so buttery and garlicky I could barely remember that I don't usually like green beans. We ordered the cheesecake for desert, it was very good, but it's cheesecake so it doesn't have to try that hard, it was pretty standard. After all the kinks were worked out my meal was delicious at the end of the day, my husbands not so much. All in all with the prices a place like this charges it's not unreasonable to expect perfection and our experience was far from it, I am not sure we will return.

I didn't expect a mansion in the middle of an office park complex and I didn't expect fine dining in Brentwood, but Mere Bulles offered both. On a recent business trip, this is the place we dined on our first night in town. It seems to be the "fancy" restaurant in this little town outside of Nashville. If you are staying in Brentwood, it's a nice place for a quiet dinner. The food was fairly good, but not great. My Shrimp and Grits was good. Key Lime pie dessert was OK. Nothing special. My friends ordered two different fish dishes, and the fish was cooked nicely. One had rice and veggies that were overcooked and mushy. The waiter told us about half-price bottles of wine, which was nice to know. The wine list was serviceable, and we found a nice one to enjoy. The waiter was young and a bit goofy, but his sincerity and desire to please made up for his failure to bring bread that he had offered as we placed our orders. All in all, this was not bad for weary travelers who needed an easy meal to ease into a business trip away from home (Seattle area). If I lived nearby, I would go again for the special occasion ambiance and to try some other menu items and more desserts. That carrot cake sounded good.

I have only ever been here for brunch, but considering their brunch is two giant rooms of food, I'm sure I had quite the sampling of what Mere-Bulles has to offer. It's a beautiful manor-home-looking building in Maryland Farms, with a great staff and lots of dining space. Which is good because you can literally feel your waistline expanding as you enjoy this very amazing if intense brunch. I'll name a few of the offerings they have: crème brulee French toasts, and omelet bar and salad bar, prime rib cut for you on site with horseradish sauce, and waffle and pancake bar, delicious seafood bisque, roasted salmon and fried fish, biscuits and gravy, bacon by the pound, an entire table of cheesecakes and even a chocolate fondue fountain...and I could go on. If you have room there's also coffee, mimosas, and bloody mary's as well. This is a great place for groups or large family gatherings, and at $25 a person the brunch certainly pays for itself. I would however recommend clearing your schedule post brunch for the food coma that will hit you before you even get back to your car. However, its all really good, in that gluttonous way a bottomless brunch can be, so when you're feeling indulgent, make a reservation and check this delight out.

Awful for vegans. I told our waiter I was vegan and asked to modify a dish to remove meat and dairy and he said "is that vegan?" Umm how would I know, tell the kitchen. Once they even gave me food with fish in it that I had asked to be omitted. Seems like the servers aren't communicating dietary restrictions to the kitchen or they just don't want the business.

I've been here on at least 6-8 occasions in the past 8 months. As we say in NJ "you can't get a bad meal here". 4 1/2 stars. This is my favorite restaurant in Nashville. The service is always professional and courteous. The decor classy but not stuffy. The wine list is well stocked and priced right so I don't have to bring my own. The food is always outstanding with nice sized portions; I never leave hungry. If you eat out as much as I do you immediately know the difference between fresh and frozen. The ingredients are always fresh and do I dare say in a 'land locked state' the fish is too? The prices are about average for what you get so no complaints there. Great place for business & family meals. The owner has visited the table a few times and is a class act who wants his restaurant to be #1. They are on their way.

Interesting building and history but honestly, I didn't think the food was special nor delicious. I went there for lunch and had a pesto pasta dish. It was bleh. I did taste the bisque which was good although not my cup of tea. The waiter was strange-kept making lame jokes about being free as if he thought I don't $pend. Ah, the clueless. ;) Environment seemed to be mostly wine and dine business sales meetings which was a bit tedious to hear esp if its familiar. :P

Fantastic place to go for lunch or dinner! We came here on Thanksgiving day and despite all the other restaurants in the area having 2-3 hour wait times, the nice folks here got us in right away. Our waiter was Russ, and he was absolutely wonderful. The food was outstanding, highly recommend the crab bisque, easily the best we've ever had. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very old southern style architecture. Will definitely come back again the next time we're in town!

High quality food with an attentive staff and a nice classy ambiance. I started with the much hyped She-Crab Bisque was was good, very well seasoned, but did not contain much actual crab and relied too heavily on the dairy for my taste. My date had a basic salad due to allergies, there was nothing special about the salad though it was freshly prepared and the produce had a nice spring to it along with well-balanced homemade dressing. My main course was a Prime Rib (not always available) that was slow-cooked over 8 hours and is one of the best cuts of meat I've ever had in a restaurant. It was perfectly seasoned, and was full of smokiness and was so tender as to render a knife unnecessary. This was accompanied with fairly standard mashed potatoes and green beans, which were fine but a moot point next to the fantastic meat. Others in my party had the salmon and the chicken, both similarly reported to be perfectly seasoned, and I saw that these dishes were just the right level of pull-apart tenderness as well. For dessert I had (I think it was called) Strawberry Pull-Apart Cake, which was a layering of half strawberry sponge cake and half strawberry cheesecake, not terribly elegant but very tasty, and isn't that the important thing, really? Not overly sweet, and a good combination of textures in what was really two desserts in one. Came with a nice acidic strawberry sauce. I seem to remember that everyone in my party had the same dessert, and everyone liked it. While not mind-blowing, the food was competently prepared and these chefs are very comfortable with their meat prep, each protein was was well handled and seasoned to near perfection. Waitstaff was attentive without being annoying, and although the bar contents weren't too impressive, the bartenders were fast and knowledgeable with their cocktail mixing. The one bad spot for me with this experience came as the head waiter explained the menu, he took an overly long time explaining what is a totally self-explanatory menu and added no new information to what we had in our hands - just a waste of time. Also there's nothing interesting or innovative about the food choices here. But if you have a little money to spend, I recommend this place overall for its classy atmosphere and skilled chefs.

At this price point you expect good food and service. Tonight, the service was not up to par. We asked about gluten free options when we arrived and the waitress basically did not help at all. She did not give any options and when we shared what they had prepared previously she stated that none of those options would work. We will mark this restaurant off of our list. Not gluten-free friendly.

My husband & I went here for a nice dinner while visiting Nashville for the weekend. We were seated at a pretty private table. Our waitress was very sweet & made recommendations. They had two specials that night. One was surf & turf, which I ordered & the other was Grouper, which my husband ordered. We both started off with a cup of their crab bisque. Have you ever tasted food so good that at first bite, you have to catch your breath & feel a tear my come to your eye? Yeah, that was me when I tasted the bisque. Both of our entrees were fantastic as well. We were so full, we got dessert to go: their homemade carrot cake. It was amazing. My husband doesn't even like carrot cake & he loved it! We will be back to this great place when we visit Nashville again. Oh, also, I checked into the location through Foursquare & got $10 off our meal!!!

I came here for lunch with some coworkers and I'd have to say it was pretty great overall. We ordered the fried artichoke hearts for an appetizer and I also had a cup of the crab bisque (which is apparently the must-try item here). I had the rib rolls (think french-dip-slider) for my entree and the "chocolate decadence" for dessert. The artichoke appetizer was delicious. I'm an artichoke fan but have never had it prepared in this way and I absolutely loved it. They were fresh, hot, crispy, and the sauce that accompanied them complimented the flavor perfectly. The crab bisque was absolutely phenomenal... I might very well return to this place just for a bowl of bisque. It's thick, hearty, flavorful, and the crab really shines through. There are few things I like more than a fantastic seafood bisque and this is one of the best I've tried. Our server said it's the most-ordered item on the menu and I can definitely believe it. The rib rolls were... decent. There wasn't anything bad about them, but not anything particularly impressive either. They just seemed like something one would get from a casual-dining chain restaurant and were very anticlimactic after the amazing appetizer and bisque. In all fairness though, those tasty starters would have been extremely tough acts for any entree to follow. I'll definitely be trying something different next time I come here. The dessert was fantastic. The 'chocolate decadence' was described by our server as a "flourless chocolate torte". The presentation was lovely and the taste was definitely worthy of the name. If you love rich chocolate desserts, this might just be the greatest thing you've ever tasted. I was told by one of my coworkers that the key lime pie was fantastic as well, but chocolate is always going to win against fruit for me. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and seemed to have a very good knowledge of the menu items. They were a delight to interact with and it's a shame that all restaurants don't offer this level of service. However it is that Mère Bulles trains their staff, they need to keep doing what they're doing. I can't wait to return here during the evening at some point and try some of their dinner offerings.

This is great food and service. Salads, steak, shrimp and grits, burger, crab cakes, she-crab bisque - it's all great. It's the center of the Universe for Brentwood's power lunch-bunch. If you want to make an impression, go..don't question it, just go. Well, call and see if there's a need for a reservation, then go.

The restaurant has super cool ambiance! The front does look like a mansion and is beautiful on the inside as well. We sat outside on the patio at night for dinner and the lights were beautiful. Dinner was delicious and the carrot cake was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Large menu selection. Always Farley busy. Good but not great food. Most of the time they can accommodate celiacs which is nice but last time and I'm not sure if it was the server or kitchen but they had gluten mixed in and I had to bring it to there attention. For some stuff I think they are a little pricey. But overall I would say check it out

For Thanksgiving this year, we had both sides of the family coming into town, and rather than having dinner at our home, we decided to find a restaurant to go to instead. I had this place recommended to me from a friend that has had Thanksgiving their before, and man am I glad I took his advice. This place is unbelievable! We had a 2:30 reservation, and when we showed up at 2:25, the place was absolutely slammed. I was surprised it was that crowded on Thanksgiving, but hey, it must have been busy for a reason. I checked in with the host, who was extremely friendly, and he told us it'd be a few minutes past 2:30 until we got a table because it was so busy. We had a seat at the bar and got a couple drinks, admiring the southern plantation feel of how the restaurant looks. At about 2:45 we were finally seated upstairs. Don't worry if you're with a party that has someone with trouble going up stairs; they have an elevator if you need to use it. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, and even though it was insanely busy, she didn't rush us at all. The Thanksgiving Dinner menu they had was great. You could choose an entree and a desert for about $36 per person, and could add on other items if you wanted from about $4 - $8 per dish. Also, our waitress was nice enough to let us swap out the sides that came with the entree if it was something we didn't like, which most places like this don't do. The food here was unbelievably good. YOU MUST ORDER THE CRAB BISQUE. Absolutely have to. If you come here and pass up on trying this amazingly delicious soup, you've completely wasted your time. The best crab bisque I've ever had. For dinner, I ordered the Glazed Ham, with sides of Sweet Potatoes and Asparagus, and couldn't believe how tasty it was. The portions were perfect, and I walked away with no leftovers, but felt perfectly stuffed, just as I should on Thanksgiving. Our waitress got us our check quickly, and we were able to leave at our own pace. I will absolutely be coming back here when I want to go have a nice a super nice meal.

While visiting my best friend in Nashville last weekend, she took me to this charming restaurant for brunch. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. I normally don't like buffets, but this brunch buffet had one of the largest selections that I have ever seen. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuit, eggs, chocolate fountain, various dessert options and much more. I got an omelette from the omelette station, which was very good. I also tried the creme brûlée french toast, which I also enjoyed. I didn't get to try the lunch options, such as the creole fish, pasta salad or salad, but I did get to try some of the dessert options such as the peach and blackberry cobbler, which were very good. I wish I could have tried more options, but I was pretty full and I don't think I really took full advantage of the buffet, which is why I usually don't eat at them. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and I would highly recommend it.

The charm begins as you walk into the plantation house from the parking lot. My wife and I arrived for a meeting about our daughter's graduation luncheon. We stayed after the meeting to sample the menu. Great food, great service. Oh yes, the graduation luncheon was as a great success too!

I'll have a bowl of she crab bisque with a side of she crab bisque, please. Seriously. I've ordered countless salads or sandwiches to accompany said bisque, but those were just garnish. Honestly nothing else really blows me away. The goat cheese salad is tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. Rib rolls are okay as is the chicken salad melt. I really do not like the homemade chips that come with most lunch entrees/sandwiches. Way heavy handed with the lemon pepper. Service is always good...and I love that they deliver. Any time I have called in an order for delivery I have had excellent service on the phone and with the driver. I have always had good service dining in as well. And I know this is small, but Andes mints are far superior to the usual starlight mints at the door.

After traveling all day we were treated well in this wonderful restaurant in Nashville. Our waiter was helpful in helping us make our selections and we were not disappointed. The crab bisque soup is not to be missed as was their carrot cake with a touch of molasses.

I'm usually a Mere Bulles fan, but the last trip was not good. The salad had missing ingredients, my companions fish was undercooked and gooey. Not sure I'll go back any time soon.

Okay, so this would have to 3.5-4 stars in my book because I just can't say enough nice things about this place's service and the portion size of the food. You really get what you pay for here which is also quality. Set in an old mansion home, the area is tucked into Brentwood. This would be the best place for Sunday brunch or for a candlelight dinner. I always order the rib-eye everywhere I go and this place did a very good job with the piece of meat as well as prime rib I ordered. I will and always be a big time carnivore because I refuse to be anemic. Thanks Mere Bulles, you'll be a good go-to on my list of places to eat while I live here in Nashville. :)

Impressive food for delivery. I ordered the spinach salad and it was delicious with the dressing and the mango/strawberry salsa. Mmm... I also ordered the calamari which was perfect and not too greasy. Bruschetta was heavy for my liking but it was tasty. Plus it came quicker than expected for delivery. I would definitely return and recommend to others when in Brentwood.

Easy going servers, great place to check out. one of my favorite things to eat is salmon and I have to say this place made it the best. It was perfect. Server offered wine which was amazing, RELAX a white wine. Worth every cent. Thanks, Brentwood, Tn

I'm still shocked about my experience at Mére Bulles. To begin my experience it was wonderful that they had complimentary valet parking; but that was suddenly trumped by that fact that I showed up 5 minutes early to my 9 pm reservation, and there were at least 15 couples waiting to be seated. The hostess was wearing a short grey cotton skater skirt with a black long sleeve and high top converse. Again for a four star restaurant keep up the atmosphere by having you coworkers dress up. We then waited for at least fifteen to twenty minutes to find our seat right next to the door exiting to the patio in the sun room that was overcrowded with tables. The table was set incorrectly with the check from the couple before us. For a four star restaurant they didn't have all the proper utensils for a fine dining setting. Each of our settings had two dinner forks and a knife. We then met our waiter who was busy but also very nice. We ordered the tomato and Brie bruschetta. The appetizer itself was undercooked with too much pesto. For our main meal my boyfriend ordered the sixteen ounce New York strip, and I ordered the herb crusted salmon. We both requested them to be cooked medium. They proceeded to bring us someone else's food which looked like the prime rib and spinach salad with chicken. The food ended up being the table behind us and they even messed up their order. Finally our food came and again to our disappointment my boyfriend's New York strip steak happened to have probably at least three to four ounces of fat and was definitely raw in the middle. My herb crusted salmon was grey in color and the lemon hollandaise sauce tasted exactly like chicken gravy. According to the waiter they receive fresh meat every morning which came to a shock to me based on the quality of both of our meats. We ended up sending back the steak, and after two bites of my cold over cooked salmon we decided that the whole aspect of Mére Bulles was awful and not worth our time or money. We have tried many 4 to 5 star restaurants and in comparison to those restaurants Mére Bulles would be honestly one to two stars. I would never recommend anyone to partake in this restaurant. The owner of the business needs to make sure the staff has the knowledge and the utensils to make this restaurant the fine dining experience that it could be.

Ok, I'm not going to waste a lot of words on this review. It just isn't worth it. Here are the bullet points, starting with my overall take on the place: If you consider yourself a foodie, pass. If you think foodies are pretentious and you like big portions, you'll love it. The food was fine. Overpriced for the shortcut preparation, but fine. The wine list was ridiculously overpriced, which was fine since we brought our own. Apparently there is some 1/2 price bottle deal going on though. Sounds about right as everything was about double the normal markup. The worst part of the experience was our waiter. He did the "I'm your best friend" show. "I'll just snag you a couple of bowls of this blah blah blah to start" like he was comping it. He was pissed we only got 1 cup of their signature fat with a spoon soup, which was yummy like any cup of fat would be. He also shook my hand before my meal. Then brought bread. Kinda grossed me out. Then he asked us to save him a glass of the wine we brought. No. Doesn't matter if it is 2 buck chuck or some trophy red, it is rude for the waiter to ask us to save him some. Then when we turned down dessert he tried to have us get it to go, again acting like he was just snagging it from the counter for us or something.

We were so excited to try this place. And so disappointed in our meal. (Ruh roh.) The Good: The service was very good, attentive and fast. The Bad: The Seafood Special: For almost $40, that fish was not fresh and it was definitely NOT 'sea bass' as advertised. The Ugly: The Prime Rib. It was so chewy I only ate a few bites. And I was starving. Who screws up prime rib? I don't understand what happened, because it has gotten good reviews. Is it a tourist trap? Is it under new management? Did we just have a bad night? Yelp doesn't usually steer me wrong. It gets two stars because it's got a nice balcony (looks like a restaurant you would find in Savannah or Charleston) and our server was attentive.

Mere Bulles was our recent pick for restaurant week. It's tucked away in a shopping center in Brentwood...in a cool-looking plantation style house. They have an excellent looking upper porch too, which I bet would make for an excellent dining locale. The food here was really delicious-I had a seared scallop salad for my first course, which was nicely dressed and the scallops were really nicely cooked. My entree was a beautiful steak filet on top of really tasty bleu cheese mashed potatoes with some asparagus. My only slight disappointment was the creme brulee...the bites with the berries and cream were really good, but bites by itself tasted a little heavy and eggy. They've also got a great special going right now for half-priced bottles of wine! Already planning our return trip!

The she-crab bisque was the excellent. My wife and I both decided to go with a salad. I had the tuna and she went with the crab cake salad. Both were excellent with many complex flavors. The three $ are correct but the food is excellent.

My latest of many visits to Mere Bulles was back to excellence. We went with friends who have never been there and they thought it was really great. The ambiance is outstanding and very elegant. The service from "V Man" was outstanding; this was our third time served by him. One of the specials was a surf and turf with a filet, lobster tail and scallops - outstanding. One our group had the signature Sea Bass which is always special. For desert, the ladies shared a creme brulee which came with strawberry decorating the plate. Really a special restaurant. Also highly recommended is the Sunday brunch. Samples of all that makes Mere Bulles great.

Excellent atmosphere, especially for a business lunch. The crab bisque is a must-order. The grilled chicken sandwich, while basic, is one of the best I've ever eaten. Service was super quick. Reservations definitely recommended.

Well looking from outside of this restaurant, I was stunned by the design of the house. Though the decoration inside was not fancy and the food was mediocre, I would still like to give this experience a four star because the waitress was very friendly. So if you are not very picky about the food but would love to have a decent place to hung out, this is your place.

Went here for a work dinner so the menu was a little limited but what I had was just ok, nothing to write home about. The venue is a very cool, old building. The service was not great. I had the prime rib and it was pretty good but the potatoes were cold and the salad uninspiring.

I'm not a big fan of buffets because food is just sitting there, but this place does it as well as anyone can. They have a great french toast among other things. I couldn't stand their creme brulee, though - so sugary you are just crunching on sugar crystals.

I have loved this place since it was still downtown. I know, there I go, showing my age again. Love the new decor, Southern plantation classic, but with a modern twist. I recently tried the catering menu, which far and away blew away any catering competition I've tried. (We're planning a wedding, so we're into this sort of thing right now). Their wedding fare includes giant seared scallops and filet mignon! That sounds way better than the soggy BBQ sliders and spring rolls I see everywhere else. Good job Mere Bulles on keeping it classy!

Mere Bulles: Where have you been all my life. Mere Bulles is a wonderful experience - from the moment you pull up to the beautiful southern plantation home. The ambiance of the place, the mood, the decor, is all incredibly fitting - and perhaps my favorite part is the sun-room area that, on a rainy day, is perfect. The food, the drinks - they're all a great experience. I absolutely love the salmon dish - particularly with the wild rice pairing. They rank somewhere between the mid-formal (business-casual) to the formal, though it's not so stuffy a place that you'd feel uncomfortable if you were dressed more casually too. Most amazingly is the pricing: There are some other really great places to eat around Nashville, and they rank at the top of my list as well. With these other places though, you are definitely paying for what you get - with Mere Bulles I was surprised at how much more we got for what we paid. For me this means being able to eat at a really nice place, and eat some really great food, without having it necessarily be an expensive night. (This isn't to say it's inexpensive - only relatively). I definitely recommend trying Mere Bulles out - whether you live in Nashville and never have been, and especially if you're not from Nashville and just visiting.

I frequent Mere Bulles since it is conveniently located very close to the building I work and and we use it for company meetings. However, I would happily go there on my own as well. The food and atmosphere of this place is first class. It has a little touch of southern living along with the class you'd expect from a nice Brentwood place. My weakness when eating here for lunch is their steak rolls. I think if they would keep bringing them I'd eat them until I couldn't move and they would need to roll me out to my car. On top of all of that, I've never had anything less of superb service from the waiters and waitresses, they never let your glass get below half way.

This is the second visit to Mere Bulles in past three weeks and had another very nice Lunch. How I did not pop in for lunch after working just down the street for 2 years is beyond me...my loss. It is simple to set reservations online days in advance and we have never waited for a table. We started with the fried artichoke hearts, which were lightly battered, tender, moist and not oily at all. I enjoyed the seared teriyaki salmon both visits. Cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. The salmon sits atop wild rice with wilted spinach and a pleasant amount of teriyaki flavor. Others in the group have really liked the salmon BLT. The fresh chips that go with the sandwich were great. Another in our group ordered the vegetarian burger and said it was fantastic. Mere Bulles is my new go to for lunch meetings.

Thank GOD Mere Bulles celebrated in the Taste of Music City festivities. Their food tied for best with one other dish I ate at the festival. I don't think this is part of their regular menu, but the crab cake sliders with arugula and some DIVINE sauce we my fav. The crab cake was more crab than filler and had an awesome kick at the end. I wish I bought two. I hope to make it out to their restaurant in the near future to see what else they have to offer.

Fantastic dinner, lovely ambiance, and first-class service! I am here for a business trip from Chicago, and the excellent, attentive customer service really made my first full night in TN wonderful. It was refreshing to come from fast-paced city life to a down-home, not-rushed friendly restaurant. I had the seared scallops as my entree and bananas foster for dessert. The seared scallops were a little salty for my taste, but still delicious as I left none on my plate. The banana bread foster was possibly the BEST DESSERT I've EVER had. The warm banana bread was topped with ice cream, whipped cream, drowning in a pool of warm banana gooeyness (it was heaven). I really hope to make it back soon to try the brunch. Our server's name was Guy, and he really took care of our table. What a memorable experience! I'll be recommending Mere Bulles to anyone who goes to Nashville/Brentwood area.

Sunday brunch is amazing. Hostess and crowd can be a little pretentious, but servers are friendly. Bring your wallet cause brunch for 2 with tea and tip will set you back around 75bucks. If you can stomach the sour puss hostess and the price, bliss awaits your tastebuds. The bisque and the french toast are freaking awesome. I have had sunday brunch here 3 out of the last 5weeks.

Perhaps I was simply swayed by the ambiance here, but I had a very good time here with The Better Half. No appetizer, but the She-Crab Bisque was rich and delicious, and the Prime Rib I ordered was prepared properly and tasted quite good! Our waiter was present, but not too pushy, and left us alone for a dinner of quiet conversation. It reminded me somewhat of the now defunct New Orleans Manor, but with better prices. I suppose my biggest complaint is, not being part of the cool kids "Wine" culture, we couldn't participate in the (apparently) extensive wine list. I will happily return in the future.

I honestly only get the inspiration to write reviews when the service I receive is amazing or awful. Unfortunately, in this case, it was awful. Let me start by saying that every experience I've had in the restaurant has been good, which made me consider using them to cater my wedding. I contacted Mere Bulles in early May to discuss using the food truck for my outdoor wedding in October. While I thought that the restaurant that sources the food truck would have adequate knowledge about the food and services provided through the truck, I was wrong, and immediately found myself being launched like a tennis ball back and forth between the restaurant event coordinator and the girl who runs the food truck. It was typical to find that a week would pass before I would receive a response from them via email and at one point, the event coordinator even admitted that they were not giving me the attention I deserved- her words, not mine. Although that should have been a red flag for me, I decided to continue. The theme for our wedding is "carnival" which I thought fit well since the food truck routinely serves a fairly wide variety of sliders, fries and such. I had worked with the girl who runs the food truck on coming up with a menu and wanted to set up a time to talk to both of them about confirming the menu and discussing the specifics of the costs involved. She even reassured me that even though they haven't made a certain type of food before (funnel cakes, for example) they'd be willing to at least try. A few weeks had passed, and during that time, we had lost our wedding venue. So, needless to say, my concerns were focused more on finding a new venue. I reached out to the event coordinator today to update her on what was going on only to find out that they booked the food truck for our wedding date. "I apologize and wish you the best," the email said. I suppose the thought of letting me, the person they've been corresponding with for the past two months, know that they booked the day just didn't cross their mind. I was so upset that I decided to call the manager. He was busy at the time, but called me back promptly. What I learned from the conversation was the they don't serve that sort of food (which is funny, because that's what is found on their food truck menu) and that they would end up "going to Costco, frying up corn dogs and charging us too much for them." Again, funny, because I don't eat pork of beef, so corn dogs weren't even on the menu. I explained that I was upset with their lack of professionalism and told him that it would have been nice for them to have told me this in May, not when I reached out to THEM two months later. Maybe Mere Bulles should stick with just being a restaurant and not get involved with catering. As with the other reviewer who tried to book their wedding reception through them, I agree that they lack the basic skills of communication and professionalism it takes to run a successful business.

Besides the cool atmosphere, I don't really see what all the fuss is about this place. I dined alone, as I was in town on business, and my hotel recommended it. The manager spoke to all of the "regulars" at every table around me, but never stopped by my table. Service was fair, crab cakes were fair, steak was sub-par. Someone needs to teach them how to cook a steak with some flavor. My steak was rather dry and bland. Creme Brûlée was good. My overall meal was about $80, and I could have gone to a chain steakhouse and had a better steak and better service for half the price.

I've been to Mere Bulles twice now for company sponsored events and have to say that I'm a fan. Bar area - you can sit here and chill while waiting for your party to arrive or just sit here and chill the entire night. They have TVs so you can watch something but, let's face it, everyone is staring at their iPhone instead. The clientele at the bar will be of an older, more distinguished set. Perhaps a good hunting ground for sugar daddies or cougars? Private rooms - they have multiple private rooms available both upstairs and downstairs for your private party needs. Pretty building that looks like an old house on the inside. Waiters - friendly and some of them are kind of flirty too. I like flirty, cute waiters. I guess if you aren't cute then flirty is still ok, but it is more festive when they are cute right? Interesting bathroom tidbit - advertisement for cosmetic gynecology on the back of one door. In need of having your vag rejuvenated? Then call the number, girl! Food - AH MAH GAWD! The she crab bisque is the she-znit! Crabby, thick, rich, hot, delicious. It is a must order item. Entrees that I have experienced included seared tuna which was perfectly rare on the inside and seared on the outside. Roasted chicken was decent although I guess I didn't read the menu to realize it had bbq sauce on it. Green beans were surprisingly tasty - seemed like butter. Speaking of the butter, the butter on the table for the bread has honey in it. All the wines I have had were good, but I haven't met too many wines I didn't like when they are free! The chocolate dessert I had the other night was rich and the perfect size to complement the end of your meal without feeling too full. All the food I've had here has been really surprisingly good. Now I just have to try that amazing-sounding brunch!! If you find yourself needing a place to have a fancy dinner with large groups you could definitely do worse than Mere Bulles. Especially if you live in the Brentwood area.

What a gorgeous, southern place tucked back in the Maryland Farms business district of Brentwood. On a beautiful day, ask to eat upstairs on the outdoor porch or (if that's full) sit out back. Everything is great but its the she-crab soup that will change your life. Just don't run into the kitchen and begin drinking out of the pot. They tend to frown at that.

The owner reached out to me to comment on my review. I admit, I was a bit sharp with my comments, especially after only visiting once. I try to only give poor reviews after multiple visits because, after all, people have bad nights on occasion. I encourage you to give Mere Bulles a chance even though my review was poor. I plan on going back the next time I am in Nashville simply due to the owners pro-activeness.

I've been fortunate to dine in Mere Bulles' classy interior several times over the past year, and I think it's fantastic. Why is it fantastic, you ask? Good food for a pretty good price. Is it more than a combo meal at Wendy's? Sure, but who wants a lame-o burger when you can have angus deliciousness at Mere Bulles? Lunch prices are the best, and the ambience makes it perfect for business lunches or if your cranky mother-in-law's in town. She'll think you're quite the sophisticate. Today's lunch special included lobster mac n' cheese with a side caesar salad. Need I say more?

Wow, this place is outstanding!!! Mere Bulles is well known for their Sunday brunch buffet. This is not your average buffet! Here is a list of items from my visit over Labor Day weekend: --creme brulee French toast (with a side of strawberry glaze if needed) this is probably one of their most famous things and it is outstanding!! --pork tenderloin, cut to your liking by a chef --there was a fondue fountain pouring out rich chocolate that you could smother in fresh strawberries, marshmallows, chocolate wafer cookies, ect. --She-crab bisque. This is their most famous item. People will drive here just to order this soup, and you can get as much of your fill of this as you want during the brunch buffet. It is very rich, the crab is outstanding! One of the best bisques I have ever had!! --The pasta salad was oil based (not mayo) with spices and was very flavorful, chilled to perfection. Tasted home made, not made out of a box. --All of your standards such as bacon, sausage, made-to-order-waffles with a myriad of toppings such as fresh raspberries and mini chocolate chips, whipped cream. --build your own eggs Benedict!! In addition to this you can also add fried green tomatoes! These were some of the best fried green tomatoes I have had. The only better ones are the ones my Me Ma makes. --There are a few lunch type items such as wild rice, mashed potatoes and the well known rib sandwiches. Yum. --And another outstanding selection? $9 bottomless mimosas! You cannot beat the price for the quality. This buffet is very reasonably priced at $20. The quality for everything at Mere Bulles is 2nd to none. I can understand why so many famous Nashville stars come to dine here. I would love to come back and try them for dinner as I know they would serve a great meal.

I have been to the Sunday brunch a couple of times. The food was good. There are enough variety to make everyone happy. It is very nice venue for a pleasant Sunday brunch. The service is good and friendly.

My wife and I had an overnight retreat away from home for one night and came to Mere Bulles quite late on a Sunday evening. There were maybe two other seated parties. We shared the amazing blue cheese chips and a ribeye. We chose to eat on the patio in the almost-completely dark. It was wonderful in each way...especially the blue-cheese chips.

What an adorably cute restaurant! The feel of the place is like a revamped home from the 1800s which is very nice. It's a good place to take some one if you want to impress them. The service was nice and very helpful. There were four of in my party for dinner. I ordered the Warm Goat Cheese and Spinach Salad. It had granny smith apples, spiced walnuts, dried cranberries, with a balsamic vinaigrette. Gosh, I enjoyed every little bite of that salad. Another person ordered the 12 oz. prime rib which he was really pleased with. It came with grilled asparagus and roasted Parmesan red potatoes. Another order was the lasagna. I'm not usually a fan of lasagna, but that was some good lasagna. The last order was the herb-stuffed chicken. IT was stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, and feta cheese. It was served with wild rice with some kind of white sauce. Don't know what it was, but it complimented the dish well. If you come here for dinner, you're looking to spend about $20 per meal, and that does not include the drink.

Very good filet. Wedge salad was great. The prosciutto and asparagus appetizer was just silly looking, but tasted ok.

Real Housewives of Nashville meets Gone with the Wind. Minus the hoop skirts and hair pulling. Plus pretty decent food.

When I travel I like to try local food. Mere Bulles was recommended by two people as a good local place. I had the Ahi Tuna. Before ordering I asked if there are onions in the vegetables due to a severe food allergy and was told no onions. The food came with the vegetables loaded with onions. There was an attempt at service recovery. The Tuna was mediocre. Ordered creme brûlée for dessert and it was poor. Order a second glass of wine with the meal and was served it after dessert.

RIB ROLLS!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh these are amazing miniature little shaved prime rib sandwiches, covered with melted Jack cheese and then dipped in au jus sauce. Ahhhhh...seriously, I can't think of anything better right now. Think of a WAY more sophisticated Krystal burger. They rock. Along with the 3 rolls, or with any sandwich, you get their house-made spicy kettle chips...again--mouth watering. Another great lunch item is the chicken salad melt with Havarti--prepared just as it sounds, over an English muffin. Can't go wrong! For starters, I get the she-crab bisque. By the time I walk (or roll) out of there, I don't want to eat again for days! Service is impeccable, even for the business-y lunch crowd, and you never know who you might run into. Vince Gill is a fan, and I witnessed Phil Stacey (American Idol alum) sign a record deal over--you guessed it--rib rolls! It's a little off the Nashville beaten path--it's in Brentwood--but just about a 10 minute drive south, it's well worth it!

The Sunday brunch is probably the best restaurant meal I've ever had. One of the times I went was on Father's Day, without a reservation, and the wait was only about 25 minutes for a table of three. Totally worth it. In fact, I would probably wait an hour or two for this food--it's that good. What's great about their Sunday brunch is there isn't just one item that's stellar and all the rest are average, all of it is outstanding. If I had to recommend one item though, it would have to be the creme brulee french toast. WOW! It's amazing. The place has Southern charm to it and you won't be disappointed with the service. Expect to pay about $19/person on a regular Sunday and $29 on a holiday.

Bisque soup is yum. Very upscale place in Brentwood. Usually the classy business meeting place when you want to impress a client. Sure as hell beats going to Chili's down the street.

Because the summer and early autumn found our lives very busy and completely hectic, my husband and I decided to take a moment to enjoy a quiet evening. Though we had some rocky times on a previous visit to Mere Bulles, the food has always been fantastic, so we hadn't and haven't lost our affection for the place. Whether young or old, it is a lovely venue for a date. I am happy to share and update that this visit to Mere Bulles did not disappoint. Warmly greeted by the host, we were seated in a cozy room next to the fireplace. Our waiter James was professional and we enjoyed his knowledge and helpful suggestions in choosing our wine. The food, from the salads, the chicken and Ahi Tuna were amazing! The Key Lime pie dessert was the perfect finish to a very sweet evening. Confidentially, Mere Bulles has the best kitchen in Nashville, Tennessee. In this review you won't find any sour grapes from me.

I have eaten here twice for Sunday brunch. I think they have a great selection of food to choose from if you don't have an allergy. Unfortunately with my allergy to gluten I pretty much have to stick with the omelet and fruit. It's disappointing to pay these prices (I believe it's close to $25 for the buffet) for just an omelet and fruit! I have only come here because my in-laws love it. If I eat here again it won't be because I suggested it.

A few friends and I went to Mere Bulles tonight for the monthly "Social." We were super impressed! For just $25 we received an unlimited amount of food and a free flowing of wine. The food and wine were great. Also, I was very pleased that the service was phenomenal, especially for a buffet-style event. I couldn't have been more pleased! i hope the Social becomes a monthly event! I can't wait to go back!

I love Mere Bulles! The restaurant itself of beautiful and I have had consistently great meals there...lunch, brunch and dinner. My fiance and I just had dinner there last night for Valentine's Day and it was wonderful. Our server was friendly and eager to please. My only minor issue was on timing of the dishes. Our entrees came out within minutes of the soup and our dessert came out within minutes of ordering it. We would've preferred a little more time between courses. But, we understood they were on a tight schedule for turnarounds due to it being so crowded. I would highly recommend Mere Bulles and you MUST try their she-crab bisque soup!

Eaten here numerous times at lunch but never for dinner @ the Brentwood location. Nicely done meal & excellent, attentive service. Selected the rack of lamb which was perfectly cooked -MR. Generous, quality helping that I shared with my tablemates. Mixed green salad was enhanced by blue cheese sprinkles and a delectable horseradish dressing. My fellow-diners had Prime Rib & shrimp and pasta. No complaints from the peanut gallery! Will do this again when I'm in the neighborhood during the dinner hour.

An excellent business lunch destination. The ribeye steak sandwich was particularly good on today's visit. Service is also attentive.

I love Mere Bulles for a business lunch but trying to go there on a special occasion on the weekend was rough. The table staff was great (as always) but what's the point of making a reservation 4 - 5 weeks out if it's going to be 45 minutes after your reservation time before you're even seated? I'd rather them simply not take reservations, let me know the expected wait, and then I can make up my own mind.

We had a valentines dinner here tonight. It was OK. We shared an appetizer, the Bruschetta. It was the highlight of the meal. Very fresh with a bit of heat. A nice spin on the classic dish. We both ordered salads. I had a mixed green salad and Shana had a spinach salad. Both were underwhelming. I normally find way too much dressing on salads but both of these were totally underdressed. Normally my favorite part of the meal, both of our salads were left half eaten. The highlight was the candied walnuts on the spinach salad. They were delightful but not enough to excite us. Shana had the fillet done medium. It was cooked perfectly but wasn't exactly a perfect steak. I think they need to find a new supplier. I had the prime rib. It was nicely cooked but once again I wasn't impressed with the quality of the meat. The horseradish cream sauce was excellent. With a perfect piece of beef this would have been heaven. We both had asparagus with our dishes and I'm not sure where they found it but it was perfect. My side of potatoes was okay but after a couple bites I grew weary. We decided to share a dessert of 3 creme brulees. They must have a new pastry chef. The classic and the chocolate brulee custards were very tasty. I'm not sure what the third was but it was barely edible. Unfortunately, none of the deserts had the proper crust. It appeared there was an attempt at a nice caramelized sugar crunch but it didn't come to fruition. Although this establishment wasn't at the top of our price list it was definitely spendy. If what you want is really great food I think you'll find a lot better bang for your buck at other establishments.

If you are feeling like having a fancy meal out, head to Mere Bulles. I have heard that their brunches are really good, however, having only been there for lunch I can tell you that their Voodoo Pasta was exactly what I wanted: I really tasty pasta with just the right touch of Cajun spice. I have scoped out their dinner menu hoping to come back another evening, but it's just too pricey for me. I will tell you that as far as lunch goes, however, the food is really tasty, and the ambiance is fantastic. For us Nashvillians it's a bit of drive, wink wink, but it's worth it especially if you are looking for a change of pace.

Love the bar, food and service. Food not absolute best in town but terrific value. Bar is pleasant - sometimes lively, sometimes peaceful. Very gracious, comfortable ambience plus very good food makes for a winning combination.

First let me say that the atmosphere there is great. We sat outside on the patio which was lovely! But they sat me at the only table without an umbrella and the table rocked back and forth. ugh. It took several minutes for someone to greet us. then our server said he couldn't serve us because he had too many tables. My appetizer was good. My scallops dish for $19.99 was barely edible. The scallops were cooked to perfection but served with some overpowering red pepper sauce with dried up rice and some old tough baby asparagus. I ate the 4 delicious scallops... The bread was OK. the butter tasted like whipped margarine? My friends steak salad was good except the steak was tough. Wine was on sale half price! Conclusion: Food should taste fresher and not prepared ahead of time. Re think some of the menu items. Servers are good! Atmosphere an A+! Good wine menu! Appetizers good! Soup good!
