I frequent a lot of Asian restaurants because I don't eat meat, and Asian restaurants are very accommodating. Until today. I asked for tofu instead of chicken in a dish and they tried to stick me up by raising the bill. I've had this substitution at hundreds of Chinese restaurants, no problem ... tofu is much cheaper than chicken. They had a tofu dish on the menu, the only reason I can see not to work with me is pure cantankerousness. My wife and I left, so they lost two meals plus our future business. My wife was also checking the restaurant out for a future Lions Club luncheon. More power to you and good luck in your future.

Brought daughter here who goes to TWC - she didn't even know there was a Chinese restaurant in town. My Moo goo gai pan as good as any I've had in Atlanta. My daughter had the Sesame Chicken - we forgot to tell them no Broccoli and it was overrun with the Broccoli. She just at the chicken and left the rest. Sauce a bit too much as well. Waitress quick.

This is a great place in a strip mall... didn't expect much but was treated to a good food prepared to our taste (a bit more spicy)... the service was excellent... very attentive... we were passing through or else we would not hesitate to come again...

My wife and I were traveling through and stopped at Ming Dynasty based on the two reviews. Well, I had the special with pork, chicken and shrimp. my wife had Cashew Chicken. Both dishes were supposed to be spicy. We ordered them extra spicy. Well, they were not spicy at all and the cashew chicken had no cashews. Unfortunately my wife never said anything until just about finished as she said she hoped they would turn up at the bottom of the plate. hot and sour soup was just average. Waitress said people don't like much spice around here and to let her know next time and she would make sure it was spicy. Larry & Mary Kay

I was pretty disappointed that they ran out of hot and sour soup but the Kung Pao Chicken was delicious. Pretty good egg rolls.

I have never dined in or actually been inside the place (my boyfriend picks it up on his way home from work). So this review is based on take out. I love this food! I can't say anything bad about it. Yum...the rice, the egg rolls, egg drop soup (with tons of fried noodles they give you)! The lunch menu includes soup and an egg roll and always fills me up with leftovers for an awesome price. Never had anything bad here...the only reason for 4 stars and not 5? They don't have General Tso on the lunch menu. Boo on that. Put the tso on the lunch menu for 5 stars ;)

It's a pleasant surprise to find a kick ass Chinese food joint in a sleepy town like Athens TN. Ming Dynasty is an eat in place surrounds by a BIgLots and a Dollar General in a really low rent strip mall. The dining room lacks ambiance but it's roomy and laid back. You get a lot more than you expect from the appearance of the place. The staff is friendly and super knowledgable giving details descriptions of dishes to guest. The price points are super low and the portions are ample. I ordered the hot and sour soup as an appetizer, although not hot enough fort taste it was still very good especially with a handful of fried noodles submerged in it. I judge a Chinese place by their fried rice and how much meat is in the won tons. Since I skipped wonton soup I went with roast pork fried rice which was far superior even my favorite place back home. True fried rice big chunks of char sue roast pork not soy sauces white rice. BRAVO MING!!! I had the Spicy Braised Chicken wings and they were fabulous. Order them as an appetizer but I did the main coarse deal. They are big tasty brined then crispy fried then coated with a sweet and funky delicious dark thick soy based braising sauce. There are a huge amount of dishes on the menu and my guess they are all just as good as my fantastic dinner. I started writing this with 4 stars but can't find a reason not to go 5. An achievement o don't take lightly. If you read this review and don't eat here you are missing the highlight of Athens dining.

If I could give this place a ZERO stars I would!!!! I just ordered peppered steak WITH extra meat. Nothing extra than any other Chinese restaurants normal serving! 3.50$ up charge for nothing!!! Sweet and sour chicken was overcooked, crispy and dry! Also half of the container was filled with VEGETABLES! What?!? Yes that's right. I'm a traveler and this has been the only Asian restaurant to add fillers to save money and RIP you off! 9$ for 8 overcooked chicken nuggets! Also ordered the General Tsao chicken thinking this has to get better. I was wrong my wife said the chicken was overcooked, sauce was not spicy and thinned out with water also tasted awful. Last but not least crab ragoons. Same old story over cooked ate one and tossed all of this out. On our way to pick up a fast food burger. These other reviews must be from people that have never travelled outside of Athens, TN because I assure you this food was outright NASTY! Please take my advice and stay away. This place should not be in business. They told me all places fill up boxes of vegetables before chicken. Just called China Wok in Athens and I was right no they do not. This place is trying to rip anyone they can off!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
