We try to eat local (Arlington TN) but there simply aren't many choices. When this place opened I wasn't impressed but since there are so few places to eat locally we visit here more often then I thought we would. It has survived many other new startups so that says something. I suppose the hardest part about starting a restaurant is the getting it all together part, hot, tasty food, food service and a balance between portions and price. These guys are getting it together! Each time I go it gets better. The food to me (I'm cheap) is still a bit overpriced for what you get, but then I'm not driving 30 minutes into the big city for a nice meal, so I suppose I can live with that. It is tasty and pretty original. Portions have increased a bit so you feel you are getting your money's worth more so now. The best bit, it is clean! Restrooms and dining area. I really like it and am happy it's in Arlington. Note it the restaurant: My request: wipe off the menus between all customers...mine had some sort of goo on it. (Ew!). My main beef with EVERY restaurant (not just this one) has arisen here as well..."How does your food taste?" Really? This is a bothersome question, I mean, isn't it supposed to taste great? (When did this question start?) "How is everything? Or "May I get you anything? Are acceptable questions. Interrupting the conversation at the table is just plain rude. If we want something, just stop a moment to fill glasses and if we need something, we'll ask. If we stop talking you can offer to bring anything we need. Asking how the food tastes makes me wonder what you did to my food and worry that at some point I'm going to taste it. This is a universal question now but if Brendelay reads this, please stop. I would also make one other suggestion. Since this is such a pretty restaurant but since some feel that the prices are a little high, it might make us feel like it's an even classier joint if the servers wore something besides jeans and t-shirts. Possibly black slacks and white buttoned shirts. Nothing too fancy but just make it look like more than an employment opportunity for the high school cheerleaders. The environment is great. The atmosphere very nice. It just appears that the goal of the restaurant is two sided, a friendly local pub (it has the cleanest pub area I've ever seen with 6 TVs) or the upscale restaurant. It's a little of both. To change the uniform of the servers and hostess would make it look much more professional and I don't think it would hurt the pub side either. I seriously doubt that this will change your profits, but one never knows until you try. Thanks for hanging in there and I hope things continue to go well. We will be back soon.

Frequent visitor and for good reason. Staff is always friendly and awesome and the food is even better. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a great time.

The food at Brendalay's was good, but nothing special. My waiter was great! Interestingly, the restaurant is split between a more classy front and a casual/pub feel in the back. The menu even seems split between the two layouts.

Black and blue salad was over the top. Not sure if that dressing was made in house or not, but it was amazing. Travel by here occasionally for business but have never stopped here. From now on it will be on the itinerary.

I'm so glad that I finally had the chance to try this place! It is located in the Old Town Square in the heart of Arlington, TN. The place is super cute and cozy. As others have mentioned, there is sort of two sides to the joint. One side is your main dining and the other side is more of a sports bar type look and feel (bar with multiple televisions). There is also a great outside area too for when the weather permits. We were seated on the sports bar side, which was perfect for me! We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were as to be expected...yummy. I also ordered the Margherita Pizza which was also really good. They have a great variety of soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches, and main entrees on their menu.

Brendalay Grill is a restaurant with a split personality disorder. The front of the house is high-end casual with a slightly romantic ambiance, while the back of the house is sports bar with flat screen TVs and high-top tables. Even the menu seems confused. On one side you see steaks, pastas and salads; flip the menu over and you'll find pub food including pizza and burgers. Something for everyone, I guess, and every personality too. We came for steak and that's what we ordered. I picked the 8oz filet with a side salad and green beans. But, why not order some wings too? Garlic parmesan wings as a steak appetizer... yep, sounds good to me! The wings were surprisingly good! Quite possibly the best garlic parmesan sauce I've ever had. They were served whole and covered in a not-too-garlicy sauce laced with grated parmasan cheese. My salad wasn't great. The lettus tasted past it's prime. I only picked at the salad and waited for the main attraction. I'm not upset the salad was passable because my filet was wonderful! The green beans (not a regular menu item) were very enjoyable as well. I'd like to say that I'll be back to try other menu items, but I'd be liying. I want another steak!

Had a great dinner and a few drinks there. The atmosphere was fun and exciting. Had a great overall experience. 5 stars

First time here. Like the atmosphere. Ordered fried pickles - they were OK - nothing special. I got a Mahi Mah sandwich - very fresh and wonderfully messy. Dyann got a grilled chicken sandwich that she thought was Great! We will come back. On our second visit, we again got fried pickles and they were tasty although a little salty. Salads were next and they were very fresh. We shared the chicken Alfredo pizza that was made on flat bread - crust was cracker crisp - topping was tasty. They said they were changing their wine list and did not have the Merlot I wanted so we settled for a Shiraz. All in all this is a place worth visiting - we watched the Grizzles' NBA Playoff game in bar and had a great time.

I'm giving 1 for the food, which was OK. However, the waiter started out great. We were about halfway thru with our food and the waiter started asking if he could take our plate. I told him no. Then he came back a few minutes later asking about dessert as I'm still trying to finish my entree. Once I finished he cleared the plate. Then as I was finishing my wine, he asked if we wanted "to go waters" really???? The last time I was there, the waitress decided it would be cute to call me "mama". The food is awesome, but the wait staff needs training!!!

My wife and I had heard about Brendalay Grill and thought we'd try it. I enjoy a good steak, and my ribeye was nicely seasoned. We both had the Rice Pilaf and were surprised by how good it was. Give them a try for yourself.

Went here last night with some great friends and had an amazing time! Our server, Christina, did an absolutely wonderful job! Food came out great, steaks cooked perfect and the Cajun shrimp reminded me of having some homemade gumbo! Loved it all and will most definitely be back again soon!

Meh. We stopped here on our way to Little Rock. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the price. I ordered the Cajun shrimp- Which was literally just that, 12 shrimp in a bowl with some spice (which was okay.) Some kinda side or other presentation other than a basket of cold bread and bag salad would've been nice for a~$15 entree. Hubby ordered the buffalo chicken salad and wasn't impressed. Overall, mediocre bar food- not particularly fresh. The service was good.

Had the Santa Fe burger with sweet potato fries. Could be the best burger I've ever had. Juicy with a little heat. House ranch was also amazing. Great atmosphere. Will be coming back for sure.

One of the nicest restaurants in Arlington, the food is good and service is also good. The Buffalo Chips are our favorite appetizer. It does gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so I suggest that you go early. The owner Devlin tries to greet the guests when he is there and his specials are always good. For a family of four, with cocktails, soft drinks, appetizers and dinner it is usually $70-$90 depending on your choice of drinks.

Great food, sweet potato fries and fried pickles are great, had the best waitress. Kids eat free Tuesday nights even better:)

The food is good. The service is lacking, to say the least. It's not the first time we've been forgotten. Seriously, waitress just disappears.

Great food and great service and full service bar!! Highly recommended!!!

We've been back a couple more times since "the incident" and have been pleased with everything. I no longer wish the place would burn down and will return often.

My husband and I really enjoy this restaurant. It's a little pricey for us so can't go as often as we like, but the food is great quality, good sized portions and unique menu options plus they have a full bar.

This is the second time my family and I have been to Brendalay Grill. We went for the Sunday brunch which also featured the full lunch menu. They have a great selection and the food was fantastic. I had the steak and eggs, both of which were cooked exactly like I ordered, and that dish was amazing. My wife had the club omelette and my mother in law had the rib eye. They both enjoyed their meals. Or server was very attentive and nice. She took five orders from our table without having to write anything down and nailed all of the orders. We had full glasses the whole time we were seated. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Great burgers and atmosphere. Save room for desert as well, have never been let down.

My dad's favorite place, he loves the steak.. He said its always cooked to perfection.. We had the appetizer platter (I forgot what it's called) and it has fried pickles, chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks.. And they all impressed me!!! The fried pickles are crispy, chicken tenders are really tenders and the mozzarella sticks are delicious!! I had the BBQ shrimp, it was good but I think they can use a little bit more flavor.. When we were eating, somebody (owner??) came up to our table and talked to us..apparently dad ate there a lot he became a regular and he remember my dad..but I see he talked to other tables too and he was really nice..he make sure everything ok and our waiter was great too..so it was a wonderful dinner and I'm looking forward to go back there hopefully soon..

Chelsea is a great server and so good with chatting with our kids. Covered outdoor dining - what could be better? I love that there are 3 seating options - dining room, sports bar and covered outdoor dining. The menu is diverse, so you can get a salad or salmon, but pizza and burgers, too. Good, diverse burger selection, and I love the options you have with sides. The salads could be a little more green and a little less white. I haven't particularly cared for the taste of the pizzas either. But many of the other menu items have been really great.

This is a brand-new restaurant in Arlington, located right near depot square. And it's a very cute place -- kind of rustic and modern at the same time, made of warm wood with a nice open patio to sit under the country sky while you eat. There's also a place to sit at the bar inside and several tables. The prices are pretty reasonable, and they serve a variety of what Yelp would call 'new' American food like creamy pasta dishes, Mahi-Mahi sandwiches, a great burger bar option (build your own), as well as grilled chicken, surf and turf, filet mignon, and soups and salads. Try the grilled chicken platter. So juicy, and such a great place. A much-needed addition -- be sure to try to make a reservation if possible, the place is always packed to the gills.

Cute place. Service is good. A group of us went there and received good service. The food is pretty good, but I suggest you opt for fish or pasta. I love steak, and being from Nebraska, I know how steak is supposed to be cooked. medium rare, right? this is well done. Everything else is fine, and as a place to meet friends and get wine, the price is OK.
