Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Not a horrible experience, but not the best either. While the food was great, our request for veggies instead of potatoes was overlooked. We had already waited a long time for our food and by the time the veggies came out it was too late. There was a mix-up on our check as well, and we nearly paid for the wrong table. The manager was great in handling everything, just felt like the service was a little on the clumsy side. In the end, this is a chain restaurant and most likely won't be any different than the Olive Garden 3 exits down.

I revisited this location yesterday for dinner with friends. Salad was "AWESOME"! bread sticks were ok, but the main dish was a "FAILURE". I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana, Cucina Mia Spaghetti Marinara with Chicken Meatballs and Mediterranean Flatbread. Eggplant Parmigiana and Cucina Mia Spaghetti Marinara were equally worse, cold and tasteless. Mediterranean Parmigiana was worth the money and tasted better than the rest. I am sad for spending $37 on such crappy food knowing i was disappointed the last time.

Probably the worst Olive Garden I've ever eaten at. Always super busy, and seemed to not be very clean. I can't take this place as serious Italian food. If you want to fill up on bread sticks and salads, here is your spot! Want good food? Head elsewhere.

I have been to this Olive Garden several times but ONLY got to eat here ONE TIME !!! The other times the waiting time was too long, sometimes out the door and down the parking lot..That is crazy!!! There are too many restaurants in the Nashville area to wait in line for one, especially a chain restaurant. I like the Olive Garden and many do claim it is there favorite restaurant...but it is NOT my favorite. I enjoy the food. But it is not my favorite. My daughter loves this restaurant though, Not necessarily this franchise location but Olive Garden in general. The one time Tony and I got to eat here, I had to send my pasta back because my chicken wasn't done in the Alfredo, but they were very nice about it and gave me my entree free..Which was nice. I was ready to pay for it because they did bring it back, but it was very nice of the manager to comp it for me without having to ask for a discount or anything. I do love their bread sticks and salad,,I could make a meal on it alone. We always gets some of the Alfredo Sauce on the side to dip our breadsticks in.. I would have to recommend this restaurant, Just be prepared to WAIT!!!! But, enjoy once you do get in..

First off I LOVE THE OLIVE GARDEN ALMOST AS MUCH AS I LOVE MYSELF SONN!!! OK now that's out the way,..What i love the most about this place is the garlic bread and salad that comes before your food, most times both are fresh and extremely delicious! But not this time or the past 3 times I have been there. I'm saddened that we had to send the burnt to Hell bread back 3 times! how hard is it on a Wednesday night when its no where near croweded to bake 4 small pieces of NOT burnt bread?! its a small complaint I know, but a very important part of my meal (mainly cause a brother loves garlic bread!..lol) As for the more important stuff such as the waitress well she was on her game that night, very prompt and kind and our food was hot and Delicious! So yes I will keep returning keep and keep demanding unburnt bread....

As a chain, it's ok. As a node, it's generally been ok. It failed on my last visit. I ordered eggplant parmigian, a glass of cheap and red, glass of water, and the bottomless salad bowl. Salad bowl #1 came with dried out breadsticks (they were close to croutons) and a little off taste. The wine arrived mostly in the glass but with little reminders dribbled across the tablecloth. Water arrives and no straws are left - mmm, not life threatening. Eh, it happens. After a slightly longer than average wait I get my plate along with our party. One bite and I am chewing the worst tasting shoe-leather like substance I have ever had. I look into the thing and it's not eggplant, it's extremely tough chicken. After about 6 minutes we manager to wave down the waitress and get that taken back. I got my meal last, as is usual it seems. Next plate comes out, has half the pasta and maybe 2/3rds the size of breaded stuff, it looks like a child size Eggplant Parm compared to the last couple I had gotten at the OG. Waitress explains that someone ordered a half parm half chicken and you can't tell any difference in their breaded fried products... yeah, bite of chicken and a 26-year vegetarian don't mix well. Will spare the details. Egg Parm was not really good, too small, breadsticks got better at salad round #2, eh. it was a less than stellar visit. I've experienced better from them. I'll try again some day when I'm out that way.

If you want to lose weight, eat here, have had the shits the last two days, never again! I will say the service was awesome, Alec was our waiter and did a great job!

I like Olive Garden. Just not this one. Service is horrible. Seems to be due to bad management. If you need Olive Garden I would find another location.

How can you go wrong with Darden?!
(4)John G.
I don't care how good those bread sticks are, there is nothing about this restaurant that justifies a 2 hour wait at 6PM on a Tuesday. I have NEVER understood why there is a line out the door every night of the week. Seriously, there are not that many places to eat in the immediate area, but there are enough to make you decide not to wait 2 hours to eat here. On the few occasions that someone has given me a gift card to Olive Garden and I did not re-gift it, the only thing that made sense to do was order take out, fight through the crowd, and pick it up at the bar an hour after they said it would be ready. Ugh!

The service was great! The food was good! Except that they made my food a little to dry not enough sauce.

I don't generally have a very high opinion of Olive Garden, but my wife wanted to go for some reason. The company has come under new ownership recently, so perhaps it was time to give them another shot anyway. We waited about 15 minutes for a table, which seemed a little odd for Sunday evening. They were busy. I guess Olive Garden is just popular in Antioch. The dining room has about as much Italian ambiance as Oklahoma City, but I didn't expect much more than that. Our waitress was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often. We never had to ask for a refill or for anything else. The Classic Calamari appetizer sounded like a good way to start. I liked the crispy breading on the calamari. It comes with both a parmesan-peppercorn sauce and marinara sauce. The marinara was decent enough, but I really enjoyed the parmesan-peppercorn. Our customary salad and breadsticks were up next. The salad was so-so and mostly junk lettuce and stems. The breadsticks, as anticipated, were soft, garlicky, and very delicious. They were a tad greasy, but delicious nonetheless. For my entree I got the Baked Parmesan Shrimp, which the menu lists as ziti and shrimp baked in a creamy parmesan sauce, topped with toasted breadcrumbs and tomatoes. This dish was creamy and pretty tasty. The toasted breadcrumbs added a nice crunch. My shrimp were a little on the small side though, and I think the whole thing could have used a little more seasoning. It was good comfort food on a cold night either way. Was it world-class Italian food? Not by a long shot. Did it exceed my expectations of Olive Garden? Most definitely.

I had a gift card....what can I say? I remember coming to Olive Garden as a kid and loving the salad. It was the first real salad I had eaten growing up and I could eat bowls of the stuff. Of course, it swims in dressing and uses iceburg lettuce with almost no nutritional value, but those things were lost on me as a kid. At Chritmas, we were sent $50 gift card and finally went there this week just for a warm sit down meal. Which was exactly what we got. My daughter got mac and cheese, my son got spaghetti and meatballs and I got a lesson in calories that I had seriously overlooked as a child. Everything hear is just a starchy mess of cheese and blah. Its heavy, unevenly heated and served by people happy to be working outside a drive thru. My ziti with their version of a vodka sauce was pretty much marinara sauce with a bunch of cheese in in and more cheese put on top as the plate was held under a broiler leaving the side pasta to burn the the middle to be olddly cold. The staff was fine, it was clean, the tacky paintings on the wall were the same from 15 years ago....I guess next time I get a gift card, I'll skip the sit down meal and go for a couple take out meals for the kids who enjoyed it much more than I did. It, did, however, knock my whole family into a nice carbohydrate coma when we got home and passed out. Maybe bring the inlaws when they are in town??

There's something about salad and breadsticks that always sound good to me! I don't like a lot of the pasta dishes from Olive Garden, there's just far too many good options for good Italian food around to dine at Olive Garden for Italian food! So I usually go around lunch time for the soup salad and breadstick deal. My cravings have hit twice within the last couple of weeks and both experiences were pretty great! We went for lunch a couple weeks ago and our waiter was amazing!! We bonded over our travels to Central America and our future travels! He was attentive and fast. We left that day pumped about traveling again as well as full from a good bowl of salad and breadsticks!! Our most recent trip was this past Sunday night. It was crowded so we decided to sit at the bar and just relax. The bartender was obviously busy, I haven't seen someone move so fast before! haha! Despite being busy making drinks for the entire restaurant and doing like 30 to go orders while we were there, he was still attentive to us and made sure our food and experience was great. What a great server!!! I would sit at the bar anytime I go back in there and see him working!!!! On Sunday night, we ended up ordering a pasta dish, of course, it wasn't great but with service like we got, I couldn't give anything less than 5 stars!! The salad was good though and so were the breadsticks, so overall, the night was a win!

Every Once in a while I forgot how awful Olive Garden actually is and I find myself get a craving for it. Growing up this was our go to for fine dining back in the day. Perhaps my taste palates have evolved or Olive Garden has just gone down hill. The food did not taste fresh and the service was very slow. But overall I did not have high expectations in the first place thus I will give it 2 stars out of petty. I'm sure I will forgot about this once again in a few months and return. But if I'm craving chain Italian I will go to the more reliable Carrabbas.
(2)Shannon T.
The worse service ever!! Spicy shrimp came out cold and I waited 20 minutes for the extra sauce I ask for when she bought the shrimp out. I had to ask the manager for more tea., because the server disappeared for what seems like forever!!! I was choking on the spice with nothing to drink!!! Last trip there!!!

I used to love Olive Garden, my freshman and sophomore years of college. Granted, I lived in Florida then too. I just haven't loved this location. I usually stick to the soup, salad, bread sticks which you can't mess up. Any time I've strayed though, I've been disappointed. I once ordered Tiramisu but couldn't eat it because it was still frozen. Very disappointing. The service is always okay. Not bad, but definitely could step up replacing my bread sticks. Parking here, especially during a busy time, is hell. People don't know how to park and the spaces are really small. I usually just go to the shopping center lot a few steps away and avoid the debacle.

Great wait staff no time to eat just stopped by.
(5)Neema C.
We went there on a Friday night. It was really busy. We waited 20 minutes before they got us a table. After we had the good salad, we waited another 30 minutes to have main courses but I understood the situation, there were too many people. My husband ordered a Crab topped chicken (see pictures) and I got a Mixed grill (grilled beef and chicken with asparagus and mushroom). The Crab topped chicken was decent, chicken tasted good. But the waitress forgot the crab sauce so we had to ask them to bring it for us. If we didn't ask, they wouldn't know about that. Hmmm My Mixed grill was not so good. The beef tasted like old buffalo meat (I asked for medium well) but it doesn't bother me much. The worst thing was chicken. It was raw inside (cold), tasted really weird. The bright side of this dish was the asparagus and mushroom, they were cooked perfectly. We both liked the cheese they put on top of each food. The white chocolate strawberry mousse was okay. If we want to dine at Olive Garden again, we will find another place of this chain. Edit: Returned to this establishment in an effort to give them another chance and while the food was bland, but passable, the service was once again terrible. Reduced our rating from three to one star. Final Recommendation: AVOID.

The host was very efficient and super friendly, I wish I caught her name, she's a real asset to Olive Garden. Our server on the other hand wasn't too good. It took her a while to even come over and then everything after that was a process. Food was good and we wanted a dessert to go and she gave us the check without even asking if we wanted dessert and seemed like she just wanted us to leave. Maybe she was just having an off day, everything other than that was alright.
(3)Jesse Q.
I had the tour of Italy. .it was very good and delious.I Will have to go again the only issue was checking in The hostess forgot I was their.i went back and asked when I could be seated as the lobby was then empty I was then seated.
(4)Scott T.
Love this place. It's like eating in the kitchen of a stereotypical Italian family! Ask to be seated in Michael's section. He's a dreamboat. You won't be disappointed.

I dined here for a quick lunch today with coworkers. We hoped for a quick lunch, anyway, since the restaurant was pretty slow. Twenty minutes later, we did not have our beverages, and of course by that point, we were ready to order. Our server was less-than-motivated to get our orders or help in any way. We suggested that she bring bread sticks and salad, which she did about 10 minutes later. We also suggested that she replace a salad bowl that had dried, caked-on food particles, which she did only after seeing to another diner's needs. As usual, the bread sticks were bland and lacking in flavor, while the cheap salad was drowning in Italian dressing. Olive Garden has lost its focus on Italian food, and it shows. They don't salt the water before throwing in the pasta -- or something -- because the pasta tastes like paper. It is obvious that the pasta is not freshly made or even cooked from dried with any competence whatsoever. The pasta was far from al dente and was overcooked. Sadly, this place is far from authentic -- both in food and hospitality.

OK, so the Olive Garden remains a solid two on the Yelp-o-meter for me. The only time we go is when my wife gets a craving for their salad. The food is average and not worth the time to drive here. My meal was disappointing 5 Cheese Baked Zitti all the pasta was dried out because they only put the sauce in the middle. My wife's meal Chicken Marsala tasted like chicken with brown beef gravy on it. Not good! Our sever was full of him self and not very good, at the end he gave me the incorrect check. We where a 2 top and gave me a check for a 4 top. That was his level of attention to his tables :( Manager what manger..... it was a Friday evening I'm sure they where off doing something very important in the back office! Here's hoping that she'll choose some other place next time...
(2)Lara L.
This is the oldest Olive Garden in Nashville and still one of the best. The food is always excellent. My favorites are the zuppa Toscana & tortellini.
(5)Afkham N.
My server was very professional but this restaurant needs a total overhaul. I ordered the smoked mozzarella fonduta and they cooked the parchment paper thats between slices of cheese that I ran into half way into my app. Such a turn off. And when my steak gorgonzola pasta arrived the meat was cold and it smelled. Very unappetizing. I ate pasta without steak and paid $16 for it. They compd my app but it doesn't make up for the bad taste the entire experience left with me.
(2)Trisha S.
I've always loved going to this Olive Garden! They always have great service and awesome food. I especially love the Alfredo Sauce With bread for an appetizer. My husband eats the spaghetti with meat sauce and get meat balls and sausage with it. I used to have the manicotti, but they stopped making it a few years ago. Very disappointing because other than my own, it was the best! Now I get the cheese ravioli and it's nearly as good! They always serve pretty fast and get the bread and salad out first and in plenty of time to eat it before dinner comes. The servers are always kind and we've been going there for quite a while. Never had a bad experience! The only negative thing I can say is when it's busy the parking is difficult. Other than that I'm very happy with this place!
(4)Noel T.
It's been a long time since I had been to Olive Garden and boy do I love it everytime. I love the food here but I always end up getting g full so fast. So I took my leftovers home. The server was great he was quick and fast. The food was great. My Mom and I had a good time.
(5)Nichole L.
This place is pretty average. I've been here several times and it seems for this location that poor service and mediocre food are the norm. For the price, I'd rather go to Carabba's or Macaroni Grille.
(2)Alyssa B.
I always have the best experience when i go here, usually starving, and the flow of breadsticks in a timely fashion is incredible and have had the best experience in servers. Ive had many nice female servers, im sorry i dont remember their names, but this one server, Paul C was amazing with his restaurant knowledge and very speedy service, which is key when i come to olive garden because im usually starving :) thank you Paul!!
(5)Krista H.
We ate here tonight. Food was mediocre at best. My husband and I also ordered a glass of "house" Chardonnay ... Our waitress brought us each a glass...I took one sip and it was terrible...my husband said yes it is bad, but I can handle it, but why? So when the waitress came back,I politely explained that I would rather try another glass and would she provide me with a wine list. She then asked if I wanted to taste a wine for .25 or try the "other" house?!!! So I said, let me taste the other house...she brought it...it was fine. She then brought me a glass...my "secondary house" was $6.00 plus the .25 charge to "taste" and the original wine that was supposedly house was $7.00!!! How does that work? I'm not trying for a free glass of wine, but really? There is a charge for a sip of house which still equals less than the supposed "house" wine?!!! On another note, I was told no one eats the gluten free pasta because it sucks...I ordered the whole wheat and spicy meat sauce...should've just stuck with spaghetti and tomato sauce...it was just a bad experience all the way around...
(2)Kim Y.
Old Olive Garden is never my choice. I honestly think it taste like eating a frozen dinner from the grocery store on a dinner plate; only you get the honor of paying $15 instead of $1.50 to sit next to a huge noisy family complete with baby smearing alfredo sauce all over the table. I hope you can eat $13.50 worth of iceberg lettuce drowned in cheap oil and greasy garlic laden white dough breadsticks - oh hey! You should order totally up a side of that 'yummy' alfredo (butter and flour, no cheese involved) to dip your already butter swimming breadsticks in for another $4.95. That being said, my husband is super in love with the dressing they put on the salads. I should seriously look into purchasing it for home use so I never have to go again. My tips for survival on a trip to the OG. 1. Just get the minestrone soup, it taste a little like Campbells - but thicker and filling. I like Campbells more than I like Michelinas freezer dinners... 2. Order your salad 'dry' and ask for dressing on the side, this is not because I am watching my weight, its because I prefer my lettuce to not be limp and laden down. 3. Never order a mixed drink, there is little to zero booze in them. The best bet here is the cheap-o house wine, not too terrible actually. 4. Sit in the bar, the service will suck less and you have less chance of sitting next to the toddler flinging noodles and teething all over a piece of drooly breadstick. *I'd like to point out I don't hate kids, they're real cute and all and the Olive Garden is one of the 'safe' places to take them - its just maybe this location is so full of the very worst ones. Ugh. Like these babies failed being able to go to O'Charleys from the slobber police and OG accepts them...my goddaughter is nothing but demure and adorbable when she double fists her mandarin oranges, mmkay? ;D 5, Last tip, wear blinders or arrive drunk so you don't have to notice the insanely horrid decor. WHO DECORATES THE OLIVE GARDEN!?!? Wall paper borders? Seriously? Fake plants? No!!! 'Vines' - seriously, what the heck!? Yeah, I'm not sure why I am even giving this place 2 stars other than when I was 15 I really really liked it, so I think memory lane Kim just upped it one star...
(2)Jordan P.
The food is good and the salad is amazing but the customer service is awful. When asking for a booth the guy gave me a rude look and didnt say anything but led us over to the booth with an attitude. Slow waiters and nothing against olive garden, just this particular location needs better customer service without a doubt
(3)Kayla V.
Ok, I'm not really one to complain...unless it needs to be done. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait for 2 people. Ok, no big deal. So, we sit at the bar and order wine. As soon as she gave us our wine, the table was ready! Great!!! Right? No...we sat for 10 minutes at the table and no one stopped by. Finally, this nice guy stopped and asked if we had been waited on, we said no, so he took our order and said he would let our waitress know. A manger came by with our salad, and then 5 minutes later, a waitress came by and said "there was a mix up, but you guys have been transferred to me now." We waited about 15 minutes longer for our appetizer and then finally about 20 minutes after that she brought our entrees. It was awful. We needed refills on water, didn't get them for a WHILE. But at the end, she came and brought us our check and asked if I needed a to-go box and brought me a water to go. Service at this restaurant is absolutely horrible.

Alright. I must say, I've enjoyed every time I've come to this Olive Garden quite throughly! My servers are always in a fantastic mood and put up with our families crazy requests with a giant smile. The bread always taste like it came right out of the oven, and I can literally taste the love put into my food. I can't help but leave a nice tip to spread happiness that they so kindly gave to me. Shyday, my hat is off to you good lady.
(5)Amanda M.
Even though I rarely go there, I've always liked The Olive Garden. You really can't go wrong with their soup, salad and breadsticks. Although, I was a little surprised at the pricetag. Has it really been that long since my last visit? $10 for the three (at dinner; $7 for lunch). Now, granted, there are bottomless refills. Next time to take advantage of this, I'll just be sure I'm starving when I get there. In this case, I highly recommend the Zuppa Toscana soup. Delicious!
(3)Meredith H.
Olive Garden is the bomb, and I love how they totally put up with our family. We were there on Father's Day and got a bit rowdy because we're never together. Everyone loved their food, but the only bad part was the waitress put my dad's order in wrong and he had to wait longer for his food. All in all, you can't really go wrong with unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks, right?
(4)Rebecca B.
Ok, Let me start by saying I have been to Olive Garden Restaurants in various states all over. It's never been a top five place for me, but they generally have tasty food, good service, and a nice family gathering kind of atmosphere. After my first and only visit to this location I was embarrassed for the chain. They failed on two out of three of the basic groups. The manager tried to save the experience and truly did everything she could.. (apologizing profusely, having the food recooked, covering our bill, even giving my Grandmother a gift card) but her efforts happened pretty late in the game. I spent over two hours here waiting for cold food and would be perfectly content to never go back. I attribute most of this to the server. She was nice but terrible and in way over her head. I would assume this is not normal, based on the normally full parking lot. I try to be forgiving and feel bad judging a business on one night, but my family was visiting from out of town, it was Christmas Eve, and the place was not at all busy. Everything that happened was easily avoidable so I simply cannot recommend this place.

This.place used to be great. It started going downhill when they started using servers to clean floors and tables while serving diners at the same time. The other bad habit the servers started was dumping a mountain of parmesan cheese on everything they touch. If I owned a steakhouse I would defnitely not load a customers filet with ketchup and hot peppers just because. If I want parmesan ill.ask for it. The salads.are a joke lettuce with carrot shreds and an occasional tomato. If the garden wants to charge maggiannos prices at least provide a quality product. There are restaraunts that do make you feel like family and treat you as such.If your going to talk the talk walk the walk and hire busboys.I can't stand eating while watching a server clean a dirty floor while I've waited 15 mins to get a drink refilled.I gave OG a 2 because they exist and do serve spaghetti w meatballs.......
(2)Riley M.
The service here is hit or miss.. You either get someone super awesome, or someone that just doesn't get it. However the food is always consistetnly good and tasty at a reasonably fair price.
(4)John P.
Was a big fan of Olive Garden but will need to find another one other then Antioch, Tn. I brought 12 people to eat here. While we were there for a function (just to mingle) we were pretty much left on our own. We had two waitresses that never seemed to be around. They never maintaned the drinks and appears they didnt care about a potential tip either. I ordered the all you can eat soup and salad (Zuppa Toscana). I paid full price and all I got was mostly broth. They kept up on giving two bowls before we left. While I wasnt wanting to bowl after bowl, I could have just drank the two small bowls of soup with a straw. In addition, never did bring back any salad after we ran out. The others complained that the food ended up being cold. I will definately have to go somewhere else. I like their food when it is served like it should be....need to get the staff to rememeber who pays their salaries.
(2)Anne T.
I actually nomally love stopping by an Olive Garden for a quick traditional italian food craving. This is the first time I visited this particular one. Our waitor was extremely obnoxious. Constantly coming by the table trying to talk us into getting free wine or desserts if we would leave him a "little extra something". He was really creepying me out. Limping around saying he had medical issues after slipping on a lemon in the back, was going to court for shooting someone, and as well as had high school loans to pay. I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable the whole time. I will never visit this Olive Garden again. They apparently don't watch the kind of people they are hiring.
