Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I haven't eaten at a place this bad in a long time. The food is crap. Everything comes out of the freezer and has that quality reminiscent of the cheapest products money can buy. I had the gyro. The meat was spongy and tasted like a vinegar based feminine hygiene product. I also had spaghetti with marinara and a Greek salad. Wilted iceberg with some enigmatic oil based dressing. My coworker had chicken parmesan and shared the same opinion. I actually walked out feeling angry at myself for wasting time and money here. The only saving grace was happy hour two premium beers for for 3 bucks. Our waiter was pleasant but his appearance was far from professional. He kind of looked like he just rolled out of bed, walked over to our table, and took the order. Maybe he rolled around on our food before he brought it out? At least if he did, there might have been some flavor. Blah!

The best thing about this restaurant is that it's within stumbling distance of the Hampton Inn where I stayed and the restaurant has a bar. The restaurant smells amazing but leaves a lot to be desired. It's supposed to be a grill but there's not much on the grill side of the menu. It's mostly pasta dishes and not much else. I had chicken souvlaki and it was dry. I'm trying a wheat-free diet so I ordered my dish without pita bread. When the dish came, the plate was lined with a layer of pita bread. The Greek salad needs some schooling on how Greeks eat their salad. This place serves it with wilted iceberg lettuce, a large chunk of feta cheese, some random vegetables that don't belong in a traditional Greek salad and a side of tzaziki as dressing. The tzaziki is served in a plastic storage container like you would get at Taco Bell which is not classy at all. Service was average. On top of the waitress forgetting about my no bread request, I asked twice for an extra side of tzaziki for my dry chicken. The waitress finally brought it after I gave up and ate my chicken without the tzaziki although she did walk by my table casually at least 3 times after I asked and before she brought it. I travel through this city a lot and I will not go back to this restaurant.

I went to this restaurant a couple times in the evening. The place had a few customers at the time but not busy. The food was good but don't go expecting an exotic Italian restaurant. I had the Stromboli, Pizza and Calamari. The location is great for those staying in the hotels nearby. I recommend.

Rumor has it this is owned by the same folks who own El Sazon, home of the "hot, unrecognizable mess on a plate that East TN calls 'Mexican Food'". So initially my assumption was that the owners here are neither Mexican nor Italian, and I was holding my breath to see if Middle Eastern food was featured on the menu. It is! "Italian" Food Here: It's bad. If you've ever eaten real Italian food, you already know not to hope for Italian in Alcoa. No worries. Bland flavors, frozen food, "red sauce" faux Italian. "Greek/Middle Eastern" Food Here: Still not the best that I've had, but also not bad. I'm actually quite fond of the tzatziki sauce, the gyro is pretty good. Pork souvlaki is pitiful and chewy, but Chicken and Shrimp are ok. Not the best Greek/Middle Eastern food in the area, but the only option in Blount County, thus the 3 stars. Bar: There's really cheap alcohol here, and a Patio. In my mind, if I'm wanting to enjoy a bottle of cheap wine on a patio along with some pita and gyro, and I don't want to mess with driving into Knoxville for more authentic dolmeh or moussaka, I'll stop here. If I'm looking for quality Italian, I'll go elsewhere (preferably New Jersey, maybe Atlanta), and if I'm really hankering for some good Tabouli or Baklava, I'll head into Knoxville or back to Nashville.

If I had checked Yelp first we would have missed a good meal at a decent price. Too many food snobs on Yelp Food- Started with hot bread sticks with marinara. Very fresh and tasty. My pasta with meatballs (Sorry I forget the type, not spaghetti ) came out hot and fresh. No freezer taste. Only complaint was my wife's Greek salad did not have olives. All decently priced Service-Waitress was friendly and efficient. Brought everything was brought quickly. Dining room was clean as was the restroom. I would suggest they put a door on the entrance to the kitchen. I understand this is is not a gourmet place but but if you have a desire for decent Italian/Mediterranean style and you don't want to travel far or spend a lot this place will be a good choice

Excellent food! The bread sticks were warm and tasty, salad was crisp and delicious. I had the lunch portion Godfather Chicken which was HUGE...and absolutely wonderful! My fiance' had the manicotti which was typical Italian but very delicious. Everything came out piping hot. Will definitely be back.
