Good food, very slow service! Always have a burger and its tasty and fries are good. Breakfast is good as well. Bad side very slow service, last time was an hour and half to get food. Not the cleanest place either.

I think this is my second "one star" review on Yelp. We found this dinky place by accident on our way to Yankton, SD last summer when we stopped by in Vermillion, SD (the home of University of South Dakota). I don't give one star unless is super bad. The place is dirty, but again there's not much choices in Vermillion beside Burger King or McDonald's. Probably McDonald's could have been a better choice than Cherry Street Grill. The food was not good at all and service was terrible.

With low expectations from many poor reviews we advanced for dinner at Cherry St Grille in Vermillion, SD. We were cordially greeted by the waitress and seated. While there is a Coors light sign in the window the waitress informed us alcohol service ended July 1. Our order was taken land our drinks served. We told the waitress we had seen some negative reviews and we wanted to right a good one. Given that context the waitress was very proficient. The food came in a reasonable time. The wedges were very tasty and home made chips where excellent. Being pasta night my daughter ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. I came cold and the waitress tactfully remedied if the situation. The fettuccine came back to our table burned on top and seemed not to have any parmesan cheese in it. OVERALL: SERVICE was fantastic.. However,do you self a favor and fire that cook because a lose is a loser

The staff is normally very friendly but a lot of them are very inexperienced, probably because most are college students. They have a huge selection of omelets but I would definitely stay away from any of the sweet filled ones like their cinnamon roll omelette. It's a funny idea but it's really not good. Otherwise, the sandwiches here are very good. The one major thing that turns me away from here is the cleanliness.

Quite possibly the worst lunch I have ever had. I went here with two coworkers at 1pm. We left at 2:10 after quickly eating our food. The service was nice, but extremely slow. I ordered a wrap and soup, coworker ordered an omelet, and other ordered breakfast food. It should not have taken 45+ minutes to cook that amount of food. The chicken in my wrap was cooked, but since turned cold, and the wrap was torn on the bottom so everything ran out. My soup was horrible and rancid. I immediately spit it out upon first taste. No wait staff ever stopped by to ask how our food was. My other coworkers commented their food was good, it just took forever. The ceiling has leaks and shows mold growing. The ATM has been out of order for a decent amount of time because the paper was turning yellow. The windows were old and drafty. The floor was chipped. Very disappointed with this place and will not be returning. Too bad; I had high hopes for this diner.

Cleanliness doesn't seem to be a priority at this restaurant. Also, for an eating establishment in a small college town, can't understand how they can't offer free WiFi for patrons. Food is ok, but too many strikes for a return visit.

I usually stop at this place on my way through Vermilion. It's a pretty good diner. They have a wide variety of omelettes, over 100. Other breakfasts are your average diner fare. I've had some pretty good sandwiches over the lunch hour. Unlike other reviews I didn't find this place particularly "dirty" I guess the checkerboard floor could use a good wax and the non slip matts behind the breakfast bar could use replacing, but that's about it. My only other complaint is a lack of usable WiFi there is WiFi on the premises but its for business use. You can however pull WiFi from the hotel next door if you have a good receiver on your device. . I've always had good service there as well. It gets a bit slow when the place is packed what restaurant isn't. Over all, a decent place for breakfast and lunch.
