Cafe Brule is always fabulous! The food is unique, and the desserts are fabulous. The Brule Banger is a delicious pick-me-up on a drowsy morning as well, and the vanilla latte smoothie is great. The owners and staff are very friendly as well.

Amazingly surprised! I stopped because the name was catchy and the signage had a favorable flair which really stands out in this small town. I asked around checking it out and the locals all said it was good and it was FANTASTIC! My server Tori was extremely helpful, friendly, and was able to assist me with my selections. I was utterly confused, going on little sleep I started with a coffee and she said they could make any coffee drink I wanted. Which they did. It was amazing! I turn had the hot beef sandwich. I was a little skeptic due to quickness but the food was fresh including the mashed potatoes which Id have to say are some of the BEST that I've ever had...not sure what or how they are made but I could've eaten 3 helpings! Upon finishing I had a piece of decadent chocolate stout cake which was made in house as were all the desserts. I'll be coming back GUARANTEED!

Feels like a coffee shop but don't let that fool you. Really good bottled beer list. Romesco Brushetta was excellent. Laid back atmosphere. Awesome desserts. I would automatically eat here again if I am ever in town.

Yep, the others have it pegged: friendly people, well-made tasty and high quality food. Wifey had eggs and a lovely homemade biscuit, I had the oatmeal with fruit compote and yogurt. Very nice flavors. Undoubtedly all the baked goods on display are quite tasty as well. This is a cafe you feel confident that anything you get will be good. My oatmeal was $5 for a large filling bowl with homemade toast, the eggs and biscuit were less than that. Nice pleasant atmosphere, a little noisy. We would go back in a flash.

A great cafe with a variety of food you won't see at many other places in the area. The bakery is excellent as well.

Always good. Great chef and worth the drive over from Yankton. Lattes lots of unique pastries. Yummy sandwiches and burgers. Great blend of rural classics and modern urban hipster fare. Really something for everyone. Three in our group all left with smiles. Nice staff fast but not rushed. Will be bsck

Our party of four were looking for a family restaurant but didn't want a 'Perkins' kind of experience. We got lucky and found Cafe Brûlée! It was an inviting and positive experience from the beginning to end. The menu selection is new American, with a wide variety of coffee drinks, non alcoholic and alcohol drinks to choose from. Since it was a late lunch for us we opted for sandwiches. We ordered the patty melt, country chicken wrap and Greek chicken wrap. All the sandwiches were delicious. One person in our party had the coffee and she wasn't too impressed. I don't think the coffee was terrible but it wasn't the best either. Otherwise our experience was nice. It's a good place to meet friends. Also they make wedding cakes that looked absolutely gorgeous.

Great little cafe in small town South Dakota. Great varied menu. I had the carmalized onion and goat cheese bruschetta. Very good. For my meal I had the Salmon Gyro which I loved.

Cafe brûlé always impresses me. They have a nice bistro atmosphere with great (but not exorbitantly priced) food. The staff normally seems well educated on the menu and can always refer you to something they recommend which I appreciate. It has more of an upscale feel but it's definitely a college go to hot so don't, by any means feel obliged to dress up.

I was recommended this place by locals and took their advice. I'm glad I did. Great service and good food. Very reasonably priced, which I was probably most impressed with, in all honesty. Alex was a wonderful and personable server. I would definitely recommend.

Stopped here for breakfast by chance - as good or better than any breakfast I've had in Omaha (where we are from) and for half the price! Fresh ingredients, friendly service and would highly recommend. We will definitely come back next time we are passing through.

Good coffee, country/city options (I notice that all the city options are about $1.50 more per option), awesome truffles, and of course the namesake: Creme Brule. Yum. I'm a fan that they have a women's restroom and a unisex restroom. Somebody knows about accommodating the ladies. :) My only gripe about the place is that it gets really crowded during meal times during the school year and really loud at those times too.

I absolutely recommend Cafe Brulè. Very friendly people, great coffees and fabulous desserts. They also have excellent cupcakes. This place it's a comfortable place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

This place is just amazing!! The food is at a wonderful price, and the portions are large. I think it's always pretty busy, which is great for them, but sometimes it feels too hectic. They are popular and they have good reason to be!

Great coffee and friendly people. The espresso is really good. Lots of desserts and other tasty treats made in the restaurant. Great breakfast!

Service was terrible. We were seated promptly, but it went downhill from there. Took forever to take our order. Food delivery was also very slow. Servers took orders from diners seated after us - and food delivered before us. Servers were very confused and disorganized. Hamburger quality was great. Good beer selection. Onion/leek soup way too salty - probably sat too long cooking. Sweet potato fries ok, and accompanying sauce was good. Very noisy. Servers spent way too much time socializing with one another and customers and far too little time actually serving customers. Restaurant has great potential, but actual delivery of service and quality of food needs great improvement.

I had a wonderful giant eclair here. Coffee is great!

Next to Red, this is the best restaurant in town. Monte Cristo is pretty good here. Service is pretty bad, however, due to lack of training. Simple things like asking how the food is, clearing the table before giving the bill, etc. by multiple waitresses. Once my friend was charged for a salad because it was a misprint in the menu saying that it is included, when apparently it wasn't---manager: cross it off the menu, reprint the menus, or take the "loss" by including the salad with the meal. OR, the waitress should say, "by the way that's a misprint, and it's not included with the meal. would you like it anyway?"

Solid food. Some items are just not that tasty, but certainly the food is A-OK. They also are a nice place for coffee and have very good desserts.

Worth getting off the freeway for! As a barista and roaster from 'the city', I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of my cold press coffee. Can't vouch for the food, but I'd give it a go if you're in need of a meal.

The best relaxed but still great quality food joint in Vermillion. It is not as exceptional as RED but remains consistently delicious and much more interesting than other options in town. It does get a bit loud and the service can be a bit hit or miss, but it can quench your jones for great food. It is a very comfortable place to go for coffee, pancakes or their bechamel Mac-n-Cheese if you're meeting friends or family. They also have excellent truffles and cheesecakes (Cakes by Monica lives within the kitchen). I absolutely recommend Cafe Brule, it is a hoppin' place and the food is far superior to other Vermillion restaurants!
