Biggest props: Large separate room with sound on many screens including a big ol' projector screen for the PACKERS game. Way to go, Rookies, in catering to fans of the Green and Gold. This place is big in general, although the main room is sectioned up quite a bit with booths and such surrounding a main bar. The waitstaff was attentive and quick, and food arrived fast. They give you a ton of food for reasonable rates, so beware and don't order more than you think you can handle, because you may be boxing it up in short order. Decent beer selection, although they could really work on having more Minnesota/Wisconsin beers on tap instead of out-of-region stuff like Sam Adams. Rookies is cool and never seems to be jammed up with one-hour waits like Buffalo Wild Wings across the street in this strip-mall city of Sioux Falls.

We stopped here on a road trip out West. Decent service, straight forward and well prepared bar food/burgers and kid friendly. Best part of this stop aside from decent food is the walking trail. As road warriors, nice to be sable to walk and stretch post meal before getting back in car. this is especially great with kids. Outdoor seating available too. Kid meals $3.99 and fresh fruit available. Also have sweet potato fries which are incredible. I got California burger, nicely topped with avocado. Hubby got Western BBQ Cheddar and enjoyed it. Affordable, kid friendly travel stop - we would stop here again if taking this trip West.

Rookies is a great place! Its your above average sports bar. Great food and great service. Order the Elvis burger. Ham, bacon, and an egg on a hamburger!!

Great place! Service was great. Beer was cold. Tons of screens everywhere. Typical bar food. Got the cocktail shrimp. It was very large, came with fries and tasted fresh. Fair prices. Great atmosphere. Will definitely come again. Not to many vegetarian options.

I've been to Rookies a couple of times. It's a great place to watch sports, one sunday afternoon they even had separate room with sound for the Packers game. They have a pretty typical sports bar menu. burgers and wings, apps, and etc. In my opinion the food was average, nothing spectacular, but also not bad. The service that I've received at Rookies has been pretty good. and I also think that the prices at Rookies may be a little bit better than some other places. All in all, I can't give it 5 stars, but I don't think you can go wrong watching a game or a race there.

I'd give Rookies 3.5 stars if I could. It wasn't horrible, nor was it wonderful. I will say that the beers were extremely and awesomely cold. The jalapeno poppers were good, and probably frozen just 8 minutes before we ordered them. I shared a "7 inch" pizza that probably was NOT 7 inches. Why must people lie about size? It's a sports bar in every sense of the word. There are HUGE TV's all over the place, most showing a different sport from the next. The band warm up was a little obnoxious, but they didn't officially start until after we left (a little glad about that, as all we wanted was some food). I guess there's a DJ on some nights, too. We had a large table and had good service, so thumbs up for that. If Granite City (next door) tells you that you'll have to wait an hour for your party of 10, Rookie's may be worth a shot!

I regularly frequent rookies. I have gone on every day of the week and I always have immediate seating. Beer is always cold and food is great in my opinion for its price. I have ate at a lot of burger joints and rookies have some of the best. Large portion sizes. I never leave still hungry. There are large projection screens and tvs all over the place for sports. One of the best places to watch football. The staff are quick to turn a game on a different tv if asked. Only reason it doesn't get five stars is because they have forgotten things on my order almost every time. For example, I always ask for no tomato and lettuce on my burger but it always comes out with it on. They have forgotten to bring some ranch out several times. Even after I have asked twice. Minor things but annoyances. Edit: rookies have changed their French fries. I know it seems like a small and petty gripe, but I loved there old fries and absolutely hate the new ones. I used to eat there at least once a week. I now go maybe once every couple months. All because of the fry change. A small but significant gripe in my book anyways.

Get the Elvis burger, it's phenomenal!

It is what it is. Burgers looked big. I had a wrap that was ok at best. My group did enjoy the "blitzers" I believed they called them. 120 oz of beer for 18 bucks. We were there to watch the NCAA tournament games. It served its purpose.

Good service, horrible food. I ate there on a Monday and was sick until Thursday.

They have a huge plate of nachos here that go good with the ice cold beer and just about any football game that you want! The staff here is fast and very friendly! I have never sat outside but I have seen people out there eating and watching TV's outside on the side patio.

I have been to Rookies three times and the food has been great each time. Their pizzas are awesome, lots of toppings to choose from. The beef nachos were fantastic. spring for the jalepenos, they are extra but they are worth it. Portions are huge for the price. The service was a little slow, we sat at the bar and had to question who was actually helping us because a few people seemed to be in and out. Good number of tvs for watching games, fun atmosphere.

I don't know about the rest of the menu, but they have great burgers, and great battered fries. Portions are big, so you might want to consider splitting a burger with someone. A large selection of burgers rivaling Red Robin.
