Food took forever and then came out cold. Kids meal had cold fries. Wings tasted like they had sat out for an hour. Sandwich was ok onion rings were also cold. Server was apologetic but that didn't get us decent food. This happened for 2 of our 3 families. What a waste of money and time.

Four delicious words......Chicken jalapeño popper burger with the most delicious berry sauce!!!!!! Makes my mouth water. I hate that I live two days away now! :( Giant plates of food. I could never eat it all. Great place for family and great place for big groups. Fun place, good drinks and great staff!

This place was awful. First of all, there was no one at the hostess desk when we walked in; we waited a few minutes for someone to even seat us, and the restaurant was pretty much empty. Second, our appetizer plates were dirty; the fried beans were good, though. Third, we went to use the bathroom, and they were filthy; trash everywhere, no paper towels, and it was just gross overall. Lastly, we got burgers, and they were nasty; they were slimy, and the cream cheese was literally just a piece of sliced off cream cheese laid on top of the burger. I know there aren't many places in Rapid City, SD to eat, but avoid this one.

After riding in the area on our motorcycles we stopped in. The place has a lot of seating and lots of tvs. The four of us had the brick, which is what looks like a loaf of onion rings. It was very good. We ordered burgers for our entrees, and they were excellent. My favorite part was the fact that they had Kilt Lifter. I have not been able to get that outside of Arizona unless it has been shipped to me by friends. It was wonderful. Stop in, you'll be glad you did.

*Many* beers on tap, and you can make yourself feel better with the calories you are taking in by having their 'Coolest Salad Ever' (yeah, that's really the name of it) which also has a lot or calories (dig the full burger in the salad)... But, who's counting after a couple if beers? ... and how about that run-on sentence? Big *YES*!!!

I LOVED the service here. Our server was incredibly kind and answered all of our questions, plus catered to our dietary needs. The atmosphere was splendid and there was so much to look at. I ordered the Poppin Chicken burger with jalapeños, blue cheese, and chicken breast, which was terrific. I was pretty undecided when it came to beer because their list was so extensive, but the bartender allowed me to try three of them before I made my decision. I definitely recommend the prairie fire porter; it was AMAZING. I can't wait to go here again!

This is a pretty cool establishment with so much memorbilia you could look for hours. At first when we walked in I assumed that the owner had to have parents in the Antique business. I have never seen so much STUFF. Comics to sports to antique to food. It was pretty cool and huge. The service was a little lacking especially for a friday afternoon and the plates and menus are just a lil too big in my opinion. If I have a small table, and 4 plates that are so big and half full but I have no room for my silverware, then it's time to make things a bit smaller. I would say it's kind of gimmicky. I am glad I went but probably won't go again.

after having had mexican a few days in a row, my boyfriend and i were looking for something a little bit different for dinner tonight. neither of us had ever been to sanford's, and decided to give it a try. we had a great experience. first of all- the kitsch and chotchkies in this joint are what chili's and applebee's dream of. take a little time off from conversation to look around and take it all in. i will say that, for a place that has so much stuff in it, staff and management do a great job of keeping it all clean (not an easy undertaking). i was immediately impressed by that. this restaurant has over 70 beers on tap, and we took advantage of that to try offerings not available where we live locally. i had a particularly delicious alaska white ale, and my boyfriend had a porter that he just loved. our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, without being overbearing. for food, i opted to try the rocky mountain oyster's as an appetizer- i just had to, especially since i'd never had them before. these are served (maybe 7 or 8 slices) on top of a bed of fries, along with cocktail sauce and a rich, brown gravy. i added a side of ranch, as well. these, quite honestly, had very little flavor besides the seasoned breading, and the chewy texture of a clam strip. they were yummy, especially when drizzled with some fresh lemon, and dipped in any of the sauces. at $10.99, they seemed a bit expensive, but the taste was yummy and i'm glad i finally tried them. my boyfriend got cooter's chicken sandwich which was a breaded chicken cutlet with ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato stuffed between two beautifully buttered and crisped pieces of toast. the sandwich was huge and tasted excellent. the seasoning on the chicken was assertive and just a bit spicy. he got the garlic parmesan fries, which were really just the same fries we'd had with the oysters, topped with shredded parm. they were good, but nothing to write home about. i went with the bayou baby, a po boy of fried shrimp, turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato. normally this is served on a french baguette which is fried (yes- literally fried- i asked...), but i asked for mine to come on fresh bread... which is probably why it all fell apart. i ended up needing to knife and fork this one, but it was still yummy, especially when i added some of the accompanying remoulade sauce. i opted for cole slaw as my side, and it was classic, creamy goodness. i added some zip with some very coarsely fresh cracked black pepper. for 3 beers, a hearty appetizer, and two large sandwiches with sides, we paid about $60, including tip. not a cheap meal, but a good one. had we not gotten the appetizer, we would still have left very content and happy. portions are large, and the food is tasty. i suspect the crown could get rowdy later at night, but at 8ish on a friday, it was still fairly quiet. overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would be back.

Sanfords is a alright little pub but I can't say it's the best there is. OK first off the prices seem to run on the higher side. I basically think your paying for the nostalgic atmosphere you dine in. I guess they have to pay for all there antiques somehow! When sandwiches and burgers hit the $10-14 market, you better deliver with a big portion but they fall way short here. The sandwich I did have was good and tasty but not at all worth the prize and I thought it was small! I did like the beer selection and obviously the old antiques, but the best bang for your buck expectations fell way way way short. I'd only come back on in for a beer.

The waitress was good & came to check on us often. The atmosphere was good, like most pubs but more spacious. The food was good. It appeared like small portions but that is because the plates are huge. Food was good but the menu made the food seem more amazing than it was. We had the junkyard nachos they were average & also had the calamari. The calamari was served with fries. The calamari was very tasty & tender. I also ordered the ruben & cajun fries. The ruben was great but there was a little spice to it. The cajun fries were nothing special, just regular fries with some cayenne pepper. Overall this place is pretty good. Oh & I also ordered the bloody mary it was good but again not as fantastic as the menu made it seem.

We were staying overnight in Rapid City while on a road trip. This place was a bit hard to find. It's on a side street and kind of tucked behind another building. If you can find Sanford's, then you're in luck. Decent beer selection and an insanely large menu. We started with the spinach artichoke dip that came with oddly double-fried tortilla chips (even though the menu said it came with garlic bread medallions, celery, and carrots). It was very tasty. I ordered the sirloin skillet: chopped sirloin and mushrooms over mashed potatoes and two slices of garlic bread, all covered in gravy. Talk about comfort food! I would seek out Sanford's if I'm ever in this area of South Dakota again.

Stoped here by chance. Great bar for food and awesome decor. Polite and friendly. Very good menu and fair price. 50 some beers on tap.

Restaurant was empty, my party of 4 came in. With one party of two ahead of us. We were told we came at the worst time, that's welcoming... burgers dry and tasteless, you get about 3 fries per order, on a giant plate. Queso appetizer was worse than Velveeta and a can of chili... I'll never come back.

I LOVE this place! Incredibly FUN atmosphere, LOTS of hidden corners, nooks and crannies for you and your group to hide in. The decor is made up of thousands of antiques, collectibles, and attic treasures. You won't run out of fun things to look at! My platter was gigantic! Large portions and great taste. Price quite reasonable. I couldn't come close to eating it all. Check it out, it's a great place to take friends or lounge alone. Relaxing and friendly. I enjoyed a 12 oz New York grilled to perfection. Fresh corn, garlic mashed potatoes and fresh, light homemade bread with cinnamon butter- $22. An outstanding deal!

Rolled into Sanfords after a long day in the Black Hills. Great service, fun atmosphere, and good food. The salads are fun, the sampler is great, and the beer selection is fantastic. Great family place, and would be good for a big group.

Always a go to place when in Rapid City. Decor is fun, place is clean and atmosphere is great. They have a good selection of beers and alot of food to choose from. The menu is massive and kind of hard to look through. Way to many options but have always found something good to eat.

The food and service was just okay. We went on a Sunday evening (July 6, 6pm) and the place was less than busy. We were seated by a hostess who had just started that day, and we were the first table she ever seated. We were with two elementary age kids, and while we were given a couple of kids items (hat, coloring page) we didn't see a kids menu anywhere. We ended up ordering off the regular menu for the kids, during which the waitress never once mentioned that a) there is a kids menu on the back of the alcoholic beverage menu on the table and that b) Sunday and Monday they apparently run a special where kids can eat free off the kids menu with the order of an adult entree. When we eventually accidentally found the kids menu, and the flyer for the special in the bathroom of all places (????) we mentioned this to both the waitress and the hostess. We were informed that the manager would not comp any of our meal for the lack of information provided because they would just lose too much money. (Really? Does this happen a lot?) Ultimately, would not visit again just because of the general lack of consideration. I grew up in this area and have visited Sanfords many times before, and visit every year that I come back to South Dakota from Maryland. This will be the last time for that.

We were near Rapid City for the 2014 Sturgis motorcycle rally when a friend introduced me to Sanford's. The restaurant is huge, it seems like we walked forever to get to our table. The decor of the restaurant will keep you busy. They have antiques and historical photos hanging everywhere. The menu was huge and had a lot of variety. Everything on the menu sounded so good that it made it tough to make a selection! Once our food arrived, the portions were huge too! I'll be making Sanford's a regular stop whenever I'm in the area! Your kids will love this place too!

Love Sanfords!!! We make it a priority to eat at Sanfords when they are in a town we are visiting. Never had a bad meal here. Hubby got the all you can eat ribs, waitress even gave him extra to take home. They fell right off the bone!! Great selection of local beers. Love the Decor, reminds me of American Pickers. Sad the Fort Collins one closed but so glad this one is here, plz stay open!!!

This place is huge. Garage theme bar restaurant with hundreds maybe thousands of items you'll find in a garage and sports memorabilia. If you go into the restrooms their more. I love it. I was surprised to not find a lot of bikers here. A relief cause they were irritating the hell out of me on the road everywhere I went they were there. A hands full is cool but thousands of them shoot me now. Services me right for going in the middle of a biker rally. It was a challenge at first just to get seated. I did enter through some back door cause I must of walked around for 10 mins looking around at the cool decorations before asking hey I'm hungry where can I sit to the girls in front. One of the girls said to sit by her bar then another pulled me away to sit by her bar then another pulled be away to sit by the tables. Can I just eat LOL. I really wasn't physically pulled. They have a giant menu with the prices written in words like instead of $9.99 it said nine dollars and ninety nine cents, so of course it throw me off and I had to ask where the prices were. All the items sounded delicious but I went with the Pants on Fire burger and asked if they could throw a fried egg on it, which they did for 50 cents extra. For sides I had some sliced fried potatoes I forgot what they called them but seemed different so I had to try um. It was delicious not amazing but pretty good I'd recommend and eat again, maybe no fried egg next time bad habit. Nice girls ;) I mean very friendly, patient, and good to converse with. It's a good place to go with friends and family. I wonder how it gets at night when its packed with drunk people. They also have $1 beers but I think you have to buy food to get that price.

Good food, great environment, interesting theme. Service wasn't the best. Our waitress was kind, but rarely came to our table, even though there wasn't a big crowd. The food came out fast and was amazing! I highly recommend the Bourbanator, a delicious 1/2 pound burger with sweet bourban sauce, cream cheese, and ham/ or bacon! Also, tons of beers on tap, a pint for 1$!

Ok, funny I had no idea this was part of a chain. A couple of days earlier I had gone to Gillette, WY and had been to a sister place called, Humphrey's. They don't hide this fact, it's right on the menu. The two places do however have different themes and a few different dishes. This place is all decked out like a garage and also has some sports and beer stuff all over. It was very clean and inviting, we were seated immediately. Seeing as how we knew the size of the apps was quite huge (They are very large here, enough for 3-4 in some instances) we decided to go straight to entrees. I went with the 10oz sirloin with field peas, red beans and the fried sourdough bread. The bread was a bit much. I felt a little icky eating it, too much butter. The veggies were great though, as was the steak. Tender, juicy and not too huge. My meal really hit the spot. My buddy got the Cobb Salad. I have an idea how good it was, as he really liked it. The size was crazy though. It was the size of at least 3 salads. Really good place, to at least try, but show up hungry. Portions are huge.

Couple of facts about our visit... Burger (asked for medium-rare) = overcooked. Came out well done Steak (asked for medium) = overcooked. If there is something more than well done, that would be it. Salad = SO much Gorgonzola that you couldn't taste anything else. Cucamole dressing = delicious Spinach artichoke dip = pretty good! yummy garlicky bread. Beer = pretty cheap Bottom line....I'd go there between 3-6pm for the 1/2 off appetizers and $1 off beer. But the food you get is exceptionally fatty so if you are on a diet then this is probably not the place for you :) Oh and...service was ridiculously slow!!! Maybe they shouldn't have left our food on the grill the entire 45 minutes.

We found this place on our annual Sturgis trip. What a find!!! Great food - I mean fantastic. Not just your typical burgers and fries. Lots of variety. And I can't say enough about the decor. So much fun - highly highly recommend!!

Don't go here if you're on a diet or can't digest grease. Do go here if you want a fun ambience, a large beer menu, and huge portions of pub style food. I even tried the hot dog on the kid's menu, and the thing was about two feet long.

Only get the unhealthy stuff. Salads are total rubbish. Everything is super salty. Cheap beer. Not a huge fan.
As a person who visits Rapid City infrequently, Sanford's is a MUST visit. With DOLLAR pints and Great food, it was a wonderful time. This visit, we also had the fried pickles. They were delicious in addition to our meals.

Really good food! Sanford's has one of the largest menus of any restaurant I've eaten at which, most of the time is not a good thing, but works well here. So many different burgers, sandwiches, and steaks, there's guarantee you'll find something you like. Sanford's is a great place to eat if you're in the Rapid city area!

Service, well.. it lacks sometimes. There have been a few times where I've gotten a waitress who was a bit sour those particular days. Food wise, Not bad. When we go, I've stuck to getting the Gilligan Burger. Quite tasty!

Okay; I've checked in here once, but have had dinner here every time I've been in Rapid (two - three times a year) since Sanford's moved in. Sanford's has always been a good pick because the food was good, getting a table for 10-15 people was always doable, and the cost of feeding 10-15 people doesn't break the bank. Had I checked in a few years ago and written a review, I'd have given four stars; but based on recent trips, by now I would have updated that review to the current two stars anyway. The last couple of visits were less than good for the food (food left me and a couple of others in the group needing an antacid (note: I had a salad with no meat)). On the plus the garage sale decor provides conversation starters to try to figure "what is that?" and there are TVs everywhere (there are always young kids in my group and we need environments like this one that will keep them busy. But the pluses don't make up for what has happened to the quality of the food :-( Hope Sanford's gets it together and returns to it's former goodness and I may give it another chance in the future, but not on the next trip to Rapid as I think they need a winter to fix it (summer in Rapid is all tourist all the time)

Service was good and the beer selection was impressive. But the food was overly salty. I had the fried tilapia over jambalaya - the fish was fine but the jambalaya put me over my sodium limit for a week.

Sanford Grub & Pub was recommend by our tour director as well as the front desk person at the Raddison Hotel. Yes it does look like a "junk yard" inside with hub caps, memorabilia, and all sorts of crap fill from the floor to the wall to the ceilings! In addition, there are TVs everywhere! Where we sat I counted 22 that were visible. The food was alright overall, only the Junkyard Chicken Nachos won everyone's approval! We had: Junkyard Nachos (Chicken) $8.99 - some sloppy sh*t that we couldn't stop eating! Cajun Garlic Bleu Burger with Cajun Fries $9.59 - didn't taste the garlic and not very spicy Poor Man's Steak and (Popcorn) Shrimp Burger $9.99 - The wife said the burger was too dry Homestyle Chicken and Biscuits $8.99 - Way over salted - too many carbs in the mash potatoes and biscuits. Po Boy (Southern Fried Seafood Hoagies) $8.99 - couldn't taste the crawfish meat since it was popcorn style Service was a bit slower than my liking, but the server was nice. Overall a good spot, but a bit overrated.

Over the years this place has lost its appeal. Poor food, service not so great. Menu is huge but like a lot of places with large menus and large selections it is hard to do any one thing right or specialize. I can definitely think of better places to spend your money.

The menu is HUGE, both in size and quantity. I was worried with a menu that big, how can they be really good at anything. I got the Dip Stick (recommendation from a friend) and the potato skins. The skins were good - no complaints but the French dip wa excellent. Nothing fancy, but made just right and the au jus was great! It's hard to find a place that has the trifecta of good bread, meat, and sauce but they did it. I will be back to try other menu items (that's if I can keep myself from ordering the dip stick again). I especially like the paper towel holders at each table. I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars as my table was not cleaned well before seating, they could improve their beer selection (although they do have $1 select beers!), they serve Pepsi (yuck), and my server never actually walked over to my table to wait on me (he waited on me from the walkway over the ledge the entire time) - but he did take good care of my needs. It just seemed somewhat unprofessional. The decor is cool and my friend says she has eaten here a lot and its always good. Update: I went back and realized they actually have a huge beer selection (in the back bar), something my initial server could have done a better job of pointing out by providing me the beer menu. The front bar only has 4 beers on tap. I got the sampler platter. The wings were good and the onion rings were tasty but overall nothing to write home about. I see there is a cooler to keep glasses cold but based on never have gotten a frosty mug there, it's either not very cold or the bartenders don't utilize it. A frosty, cold glass is essential to beer enjoyment. Overall, I would go back. I like the atmosphere, laid back, not fancy and uptight.

I think this place had to be one of the first to popularize the "garage sale" type walls - look no further for great food and a fun atmosphere disguised as a dive. Since I only visit SD rarely, I allow myself the pleasure of their amazing Monte Cristo sandwich every time - deep-fried ham and cheese with a side of raspberry jelly and worth every calorie. I wish there was a Sanford's in CA or AZ!
(3)
Becky K.
This is one of my top five favorite restaurants in town. The "garage sale" theme is fun and it's different than anything else you'll find in town. Every time I come here, I get the poor man's steak and shrimp and the fried pickles. Very tasty and reasonably priced.

Too bad Sanford's has taken such a slide from its high point a decade ago. Dinner at Sanford's was a family tradition every-time we all got together in Rapid City. In the beginning, it was a choice of necessity. They were one of only a few places able to accommodate our crew. And their huge menu was perfect for our double digit pack of adults and kids. But times have changed. Along with Sanford's slip from quality, a whole gaggle of new options have moved to town. Finally, and with some regret, we had to abandon Sanford's for one of the newcomers. We will miss the old Sanford's, but not what it has become. [bummer]

Sanfords has gone downhill in the last few years. It was a passable burger and fries place when I moved to Rapid a few years ago, but when I visited again recently the food was all simultaneously bland and over salted. Service was slow and rude, and, worst of all, the place STUNK like a backed up toilet. To be fair, they may have actually had a backed up toilet at the time, but it sure did not help.
(2)
Aly M.
The food at Sanford's is pretty terrible and expensive. The only real appeal of this place is the super cheap draft beers, $2 each or $1 if you order food. The problem with that is in the hour and a half I was there I could only manage to get one beer out of our useless stoner waiter. Not even cheap beer makes me want to go back to Sanford's.

The atmosphere is cool if you're a time-traveler from the 90's, but the awesome, unhealthy burgers and decent beer selection compensate. I've never had bad service here.

After a very long day of sight-seeing, this place was a beacon of hope. The staff could not have been more friendly and they were awesome with a bunch of very tired and hungry kids. Kids eat free on certain nights, so the bill was half of what we expected. Overall, it was a fantastic place with great food and fantastic staff. I would definitely go back next time I'm there.

Used to be much better, but it's still good. Comparable to an Applebee's, but with a garage theme. If its a busy night, your service will be significantly slower.

One of my worst dining experiences lately. They don't serve water apparently because they're trying to push their $1 cheap beer. The tableware is dirty and spotty. The bourbon burger came in a plate of sauce and can't be eaten by hand. The waiter seemed inattentive and messed up our desert order as well. A disappointment to say the least.

There's so much stuff attached to the walls that it's hard to keep up. Great food and drinks! The menu is huge with crazy names for each of their items...

I really enjoy Sandfords. When we fly in this is normally one our our first stops to get a large draft beer. The food is decent (nothing spectacular) but will defineltly fill you up with the portions. Several years ago they had a much larger draft beer selection, so it is sad to see that was cut down. I have always had pretty good friendly service.

$1 pints, crazy food combos, not healthy, large portions, massive menu, bar atmosphere, lots of great beer selections and you get what you pay for. The food is served on crazy huge tacky plates. The only bad thing is the service is really hit or miss. The last couple of times we've been there the service was really slow even though it was empty. Again great bar food in mass quantities. Def a place to check out.

Sanfords is a great place to go if you want big portions of food. Met for a family birthday party. Not very busy and not sure why. The food is great, beer is cheap and TV's galore to watch whatever you want - cartoons, car races, sports or your favorite sitcom.

I know there aren't many places in Rapid City, SD to eat, but avoid this one.

after having had mexican a few days in a row, my boyfriend and i were looking for something a little bit different for dinner tonight. neither of us had ever been to sanford's, and decided to give it a try. we had a great experience. first of all- the kitsch and chotchkies in this joint are what chili's and applebee's dream of. take a little time off from conversation to look around and take it all in. i will say that, for a place that has so much stuff in it, staff and management do a great job of keeping it all clean (not an easy undertaking). i was immediately impressed by that. this restaurant has over 70 beers on tap, and we took advantage of that to try offerings not available where we live locally. i had a particularly delicious alaska white ale, and my boyfriend had a porter that he just loved. our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, without being overbearing. for food, i opted to try the rocky mountain oyster's as an appetizer- i just had to, especially since i'd never had them before. these are served (maybe 7 or 8 slices) on top of a bed of fries, along with cocktail sauce and a rich, brown gravy. i added a side of ranch, as well. these, quite honestly, had very little flavor besides the seasoned breading, and the chewy texture of a clam strip. they were yummy, especially when drizzled with some fresh lemon, and dipped in any of the sauces. at $10.99, they seemed a bit expensive, but the taste was yummy and i'm glad i finally tried them. my boyfriend got cooter's chicken sandwich which was a breaded chicken cutlet with ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato stuffed between two beautifully buttered and crisped pieces of toast. the sandwich was huge and tasted excellent. the seasoning on the chicken was assertive and just a bit spicy. he got the garlic parmesan fries, which were really just the same fries we'd had with the oysters, topped with shredded parm. they were good, but nothing to write home about. i went with the bayou baby, a po boy of fried shrimp, turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato. normally this is served on a french baguette which is fried (yes- literally fried- i asked...), but i asked for mine to come on fresh bread... which is probably why it all fell apart. i ended up needing to knife and fork this one, but it was still yummy, especially when i added some of the accompanying remoulade sauce. i opted for cole slaw as my side, and it was classic, creamy goodness. i added some zip with some very coarsely fresh cracked black pepper. for 3 beers, a hearty appetizer, and two large sandwiches with sides, we paid about $60, including tip. not a cheap meal, but a good one. had we not gotten the appetizer, we would still have left very content and happy. portions are large, and the food is tasty. i suspect the crown could get rowdy later at night, but at 8ish on a friday, it was still fairly quiet. overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would be back.

(5)Kenny M.

(4)Josh S.
Stopped in here after visiting Mt Rushmore. We loved the many variations on the menu. They have your burger or steak or sandwich just the way you like it. Prices were reasonable and service was great.
(5)Carl M.
A huge menu and variety of beers on draft make this one of my favorite places to visit when in Rapid. Great for large groups due to variety and space.
(4)Cat P.
I really love the food and it is all very fresh - but honestly it's overpriced for such an average experience. It's great for groups though & has a wide variety of options!
(4)Amanda A.

(5)Jessi D.
Good beer selection, friendly staff and good burgers. We love stopping here after a day on the lake!
(5)Chase H.

(2)Lisa E.
We found this place on our annual Sturgis trip. What a find!!! Great food - I mean fantastic. Not just your typical burgers and fries. Lots of variety. And I can't say enough about the decor. So much fun - highly highly recommend!!
(5)zue k.
Don't go here if you're on a diet or can't digest grease. Do go here if you want a fun ambience, a large beer menu, and huge portions of pub style food. I even tried the hot dog on the kid's menu, and the thing was about two feet long.
(4)Hannah C.
Only get the unhealthy stuff. Salads are total rubbish. Everything is super salty. Cheap beer. Not a huge fan.
(2)Kristen G.
What a great find! We went to Sanford's on someone's recommendation and loved it! We could have spent all day just looking at all the décor! The food was excellent, and prices were pretty consistent with other sit-down "chain" restaurants. The experience, however, was MUCH better here. Don't look any farther if you are in Rapid City; go to Sanford's!
(4)Yul W.
As a person who visits Rapid City infrequently, Sanford's is a MUST visit. With DOLLAR pints and Great food, it was a wonderful time. This visit, we also had the fried pickles. They were delicious in addition to our meals.
(5)Seana S.
Food was good. However I was charged my check plus another one on my debit card and they didn't bother to tell me I had to find out on my bank account..pretty rediculous if you ask me!!
(3)Jace S.
(5)Lauren T.
Service, well.. it lacks sometimes. There have been a few times where I've gotten a waitress who was a bit sour those particular days. Food wise, Not bad. When we go, I've stuck to getting the Gilligan Burger. Quite tasty!
(3)Sue K.
But the pluses don't make up for what has happened to the quality of the food :-( Hope Sanford's gets it together and returns to it's former goodness and I may give it another chance in the future, but not on the next trip to Rapid as I think they need a winter to fix it (summer in Rapid is all tourist all the time)
(2)Dean Y.
Service was good and the beer selection was impressive. But the food was overly salty. I had the fried tilapia over jambalaya - the fish was fine but the jambalaya put me over my sodium limit for a week.
(3)Peter L.
(3)Michael W.
Over the years this place has lost its appeal. Poor food, service not so great. Menu is huge but like a lot of places with large menus and large selections it is hard to do any one thing right or specialize. I can definitely think of better places to spend your money.
(2)Travis B.
Sub par food, sub par beer. Blech.
(1)Kerry L.
(4)Hannah R.
(3)Becky K.
This is one of my top five favorite restaurants in town. The "garage sale" theme is fun and it's different than anything else you'll find in town. Every time I come here, I get the poor man's steak and shrimp and the fried pickles. Very tasty and reasonably priced.
(4)Tom K.
[bummer]
(2)Aristotle M.
(2)Aly M.
(1)Rotte N.
The atmosphere is cool if you're a time-traveler from the 90's, but the awesome, unhealthy burgers and decent beer selection compensate. I've never had bad service here.
(4)Elizabeth K.
(4)Michael M.
Enjoying the mushroom monster burger and fried pickles with family.
(4)Rachel A.
Used to be much better, but it's still good. Comparable to an Applebee's, but with a garage theme. If its a busy night, your service will be significantly slower.
(4)Jay W.
(1)David N.
There's so much stuff attached to the walls that it's hard to keep up. Great food and drinks! The menu is huge with crazy names for each of their items...
(5)Jerod M.
(4)Liz B.
(4)Kathy L.
Sanfords is a great place to go if you want big portions of food. Met for a family birthday party. Not very busy and not sure why. The food is great, beer is cheap and TV's galore to watch whatever you want - cartoons, car races, sports or your favorite sitcom.
