Overpriced and poor quality food.. The service was friendly, but they were clearly understaffed. It took 20 minutes for the bartender to find time to pour a beer and an hour for them to prepare a simple take out order. There is no way the brisket was slow cooked overnight. Tough and dry.

Good place for a BBQ lunch! Stopped here while driving through SD. Pleasant woodsmoke aroma, nice dining room. Since it was 2pm on a Thurs, the place was quiet with only a few diners and one server. Having worked slow afternoons myself, I knew this could be really good for service or the opposite (if a crowd suddenly arrived)... the former prevailed! We were greeted by our friendly server, sat on the comfy patio, and had pretty much perfect service for our lunch. Plus, our late lunch hit happy hour, so I enjoyed a 1.50 draft beer. (hey I'm still on vacation and not driving!) Loved the BBQ pork- mac 'n cheese sandwich. Would love to try a brisket entree sometime - maybe on our next road trip.

Good steak. Great onion cold beer. A little disappointed that the you have to ask for the peanuts.

Started with a loaf of bread that looked cute with its half white and half rye ? texture but barely warm. I had a Cesar salad that was average at best. Next came my bone in ribeye with sweet potato casserole and hubby's baby back ribs. Husbands rib report is that it is very good. He liked the flavor and he ordered beans and coleslaw for sides. He is particular about his coleslaw and reported that it was also very good as was his cornbread muffin. My ribeye was ok. Maybe I got spoiled as on our way out West we stopped off at a little butcher shop in Missoula Mt and bought ribeye that we grilled and THAT was to die for. This ribeye tonight was tender but not a lot of flavor. The sweet potato soufflé was less than what I was expecting. It was more of a whipped sweet potato with a sweetener in it. I was expecting a little more buttery taste with chopped pecans on top. The service was a tad on the slow side but to be honest, it was a Friday night and we had a 10 minute wait. We saw a bus unload a bunch of elder people about 30 minutes before we went in. There was plenty of help and if you needed something you just had to raid a hand and someone was right there. They were quick to refill the lemonade drinks we had. I give this a 4 star because my husband had higher praise for the food and the wait staff were running their butts off and always with a smile.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn across the street and when I asked the front desk if they had any local specials the guy gave me a 10% off for this place so we gave it a shot. Yes, you have to ask for peanuts. There is a sign on the door as you go in, so get over that. The bacon wrapped shrimp was good but the plate did look like it was thrown together in a hurry. See my photo. The santa fe chicken was a plate of hot-mess goodness that I enjoyed. Tender, juicy, chicken. Stay away from the wings. They are just baked plain and the "flavor" comes from what ever sauce you order on the side for dipping. We had these to go and ended up throwing them in the trash. The prices seemed in-line with what I would expect, so I'm not sure about all the complaints about that. It has an outback type of atmosphere.

Food was pretty good -- Ribs very tender, spinach dip tasty, French onion soup good. Great service and nice atmosphere. I would give a lower rating in some more urban parts of the country but for this area it compares exceptionally well!

We went on a very busy Friday night. Food was great, service was good and great cocktails.

We stopped here driving through on vacation - the menu and pics on the website looked really good. The food was fine, and service was pretty good, but we weren't wow'ed.

Where do I start with this. My family and I decided to drive from Huron, SD into Mitchell and find a nice place to have dinner at. So we picked this place and boy let me tell you that it was the worst decision we made. We were seated right away and we just sat there for almost 10 mins and no one came to greet us. Finally our waitress showed up and took our drink order and I had to stop her to order an cup of soup. It was a muggy day and soup sounded great. The soup came out nice and hot and I asked the waitress for some more crackers for my soup and it never came. Then she finally took our order. As I finished my soup I was looking around and watching other waiters and waitresses bringing out loafs of bread to their customers and my wife and I looked at each other and realized that our own waitress didn't even bother to do that as well. We just sat there and twirled our thumbs around. Finally our dinner came. To start with my dinner I ordered the 9oz stead with baked potato loaded and green beans. I asked for medium well stake instead I got medium rare and it was so cold, hard, and rubbery. The baked potato was the only thing that was hot on my plate. My wife's got ripped off on her portions of dinner. I would have asked for a manager or something but our waitress was no where to be found. Finally she showed up at our table after we forced ourselves to eat what we got and I just asked for the check so I can get the hell out of this place. The next day I called corporate and filed a complaint. After about 30 mins I get a call from one of the managers of this place in Mitchell so I tell him about everything and he is apologetic on the phone and he kindly asks me to them them another chance and that he would like to send us some gift certificates in the mail. So I gave him our name and address. This was 3 weeks ago that I spoke with him and still nothing came in the mail. So this is why I am leaving a negative review of this place. I sure will not give this place a second chance now since their employees dropped the ball and now also the manager of this place. If you say your going to do something then stand by your word and do it.

Great place. The waitress was pretty good. The loaded fries were decadent we kinda filled up on then and not our meal. Doggy bagged it. I had a Sangria which was awesome. Will absolutely eat there anytime we are in Mitchell.

Good atmosphere and service. Steaks are hit and miss but 8 out of ten times they are good. Really like the grilled vegetables! They have a big selection from pasta, burgers, steaks, chicken, ribs, pork or salads. Great food for the money.

Potato soup was lukewarm, sent it back but not much flavor. Decided not to order steak since the guy next to me was struggling to get his knife through his ribeye. Waitress did not charge me for the soup.

We are driving across the U.S. and wanted a decent meal in Mitchell, SD. We decided Whiskey Creek was the place, but we didn't dine in. Instead, we ordered over the phone and picked up our order. I have to give credit to the young woman who took my order - she was patient and exceptionally pleasant. Dinner was for 4, and with the meal costing over $80, we expected more than we got, in both flavor and value. My youngest daughter and I had bacon wrapped scallops with coleslaw and grilled veggies. The shrimp were small, but fairly tasty. The veggies were tepid and tasteless. The "chicken infused rice" tasted like nothing more than rice cooked in broth...bland. My husband had the prime rib (wood grilled) and seemed to enjoy it, but his "loaded" baked potato apparently means butter and sour cream only. My oldest had the salmon with pineapple salsa and she said it didn't have enough salsa, but the salmon was well-prepared. Unfortunately, they also got her order wrong and gave her rice instead of a Caesar salad. Her sweet potato fries - bland and limp. On a good note, the ranch dressing was good. So, bottom line? Servings were very small, food was mediocre, so value is not what you get. For $20 a plate, you can do WAY better!

It's ok. Plain and simple just ok. The drink menu is fun and some are pretty tasty. The good is usually slopped on a plate and served warm. Have had better BBQ but this is a chain restaurant so you should expect that.

Amazing BBQ!!! They actually smoke the meat in-house now and let me tell you- it is the best I have ever eaten! I think the value is great considering other family restaurants in Mitchell. I got a a two meat combo with burnt ends and spicy sausage (I'm not sure what they were called). YUM! The bartender Chelsea was awesome and attentive and the general manager even checked up on my husband and I! I will be back again and again.

My wife and I ate here on June 01, 2012 and was surprised at the lack of portions, though it wasn't the priciest of dinners, I expected more for my money. The food was good and I'd maybe even eat here again if the following didn't happen: My wife noticed that every one around us had bread that came out with their drinks. Our drinks were of course forgotten about and when they finally arrived, they did so with out any bread. After our food came, we waited for that tasty looking bread that others around us had - never came. So I asked the waitress if you had to order something different to get the bread and she said it's a courtesy and if we have some in the back ready we bring it out to our customers - I said then why did everyone get it but us and she replied annoyed that sometimes you might get it and sometimes you won't and walked away from us. I blame the waitress for the experience not the establishment. She seemed lost and overwhelmed, though there were only four couples in the entire place. But her being rude was what makes it hard to recommend this place. If you go there I hope you just get a better server.
