Sat and waited over five minutes before someone finally came to our table. The food came out really fast though and was really good. The french fries looked burnt but most of them were actually good. While we were eating I noticed they were turning off the open signs and when we went to leave the doors were locked because they were closing which was really weird considering it was 2:15 on a Friday. Also when we were paying the cashier couldn't figure out how to make 9¢ change...

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was mediocre at best, had to ask for drink refills and extra napkins. We looked at the $9.99 salad bar and were disappointed to find one large bowl of lettuce and four buckets with salad toppings. Ended up ordering a couple beef burgers and a sage roasted chicken. Burgers were okay, though slightly overdone. I ordered sweet potato fries and got regular instead. Had to ask for my fries. The sage roasted chicken was NOT cooked and the baked potato was hard and crunchy. The food and the check took a very long time and it was not a pleasant dining experience. Save yourself the time and the stomachache.

This is the worst place to eat!!! Save yourself!!! Don't come here!!! Service really bad. Food is extremely horrible!!!

Wish we would have checked the reviews before eating the breakfast buffet. We were staying at a nearby motel and wanted to walk to breakfast - this was the first place we found so we decided to give it a shot. The food was not good, we barely ate. The coffee was burnt, the biscuits were doughy, the eggs were rubbery. Nothing about this place was worth it. We should've gone further down the road for breakfast instead.

Very poor service. Staff doesn't seem to care about customers and food is mediocre at best. The most service we got was from the person who seated us. Had to ask multiple times for any kind of service. Most people in the restaurant got up and left because no one even asked them about coffee. Wouldn't recommend.

1 star because zero isn't an option. Breakfast buffet was $11 and the food was HORRIBLE! We were the only people there, that should've been our first clue. In spite of that I still had to find someone to get me coffee. Nobody checked on us and nobody brought us a bill. Drive into town further, there are other restaurants.

Took like 20-30 minutes to get our food (which was just burgers, and with 4 kids gets frustrating) and then the food was not very good. It was very frustrating paying over $50 for food that my kids wouldn't even eat. :-( then had to wait for a while to get the check and asked for boxes and only got 1...

We got a table and sat there 12 minutes while our waiter walked to other tables and ignored us - including going to other tables more than once. We snuck out the back door and went upstairs to get pizza. I wonder if they noticed we left yet?

Came at lunch time. We were handed breakfast and dinner menus.. Requested lunch menus, got one lunch menu (party of 5). So we had some that wanted breakfast, and some that wanted dinner.. waiter advised only lunch being served, nothing appealing on lunch menu, we finished our drunks and ended up at the Ruby house. .

Wouldn't really recommend this place at all... We saw it from the railroad and thought it was a nice place.. Staff is pathetic...food mediocre. Potato was like rubber. Pretty much clueless on what they have on their own menu. Finished the ribs and wondering if that was the best idea...

This place is horrible!! Not one thing was good. The burger was almost burnt, my sons ribs were so tuff, and to top it off there was a big wood chip(mulch) in my salad how can you screw up a salad!!! If there was a zero star option that's what it would get! I'm annoyed that I wasted my time and money at this place. DON'T GO HERE!

LISTEN UP! Dennis the NEW summer 2015 chef IS GREAT! I am an at home chef and this is good, well seasoned, locally grown food. I suggest u give it a whirl: IF UR HERE THIS SUMMER!

Horrible service, but food was good. Took over an hour to get a burger and a taco though. Female waitress didn't know if she was coming or going, did not pay attention to tables our customers. Took her 20 minutes to bring us drinks. I got tired of waiting for her and asked another server to take our order. The other server was great.

Gross. That's all I can say. Don't waste your time or money. But there wasn't much else open at 8pm on a Tuesday in the off season.

This place was the best food on the boardwalk . Staff was very welcoming I would recommend this place for true homemade food at it's finest!
(5)Melanie W.
If I could give it zero stars I would, but you can't do so on Yelp, so it's earned itself an unwarranted and overly generous 1 star.

What was this?! We should have read the reviews first. I don't even think Gordon Ramsay can save this menu. Way overpriced garbage. They claim "everything handmade". FALSE!! McDonald's is as fresh as this place. The only decent thing was the chicken and that is saying alot

You are out of you mind to even think of eating here.. Find another town.. We checked out everything.. This place is the worst......

Gave this one star because I can't give it a '0'. Went here on advice from our hotel as they did not have a free breakfast as most do. tried the buffett. Had Biscuits and never had anything like these. They were the consistency of a hamburger bun, just awful. The has browns 'looked' good, really brown. That's because they were so over cooked they were inedible and hard. Even with the discount coupon we had we felt overcharged, Even the free cold hotel breakfasts that most offer are much much better than this. Even for free this would be a bad choice. Pass this one by.

Do NOT eat here! We just paid over $20 for two "dinners" that were worst than hospital buffets or gas station food. First of all, our waiter was high. Second, it smelled like bleach because they have a cleaning station in the corner of the seating area. Third, there were very few items on the menu (less than 10 choices in all). Fourth, the food was disgusting/moldy. My husband had a $10 French Dip sandwich, which he said was comparable to a 2 day old gas station sandwich (with nothing but one strip of roast beef and bread). I had the $9 soup and salad bar. What a joke! Basically I had some iceberg lettuce and shredded carrot with cucumbers and saltine crackers for dinner. There were only 4-5 topping choices for salad that were bizarre (jalapeños). There was one soup option, a red soup with only a few chunks of unidentifiable items in it that smelled horrible. I thought there was some bread which often accompanies salad bars, but it was just plastic bread! Really?! I did have some grapes at the end (no serving utensil provided), and found moldy grapes in my bunch. Gross!

Everything posted so far is true. We were hungry and happened to be standing by this restaurant and the outside was appealing. We just got into town and I kick myself for not checking Yelp first. The hot buffet consisted of instant mashed potatoes and gravy, breaded pieces of chicken. Fish. Sticks , mushy vegetables, and mini corn dogs. Everything was Luke warm. The regular menu was skimpy and pricy so you tended to pick the buffet. The employees seemed confused and got into an argument when we were trying to pay our bill.

Seriously the worst $29 I've ever spent in my entire life. DO NOT make the mistake of going here. Check my reviews. I am generally a pretty easy going diner. I've eaten in 3rd world countries at roadside motor-bike food vendors serving some of the most questionable food imaginable and had better than this place. This was single handedly the worst dining experiences I have ever had in my life..and I've had my share of bad experiences. This place should be shut down and bulldozed. The people who work here would be better off cleaning toilets at Wal-Mart. We arrived in Keystone, SD and wanted breakfast. Although I've been there before, I didn't realize there were plenty of options up the road. On the actual gift shop strip, for breakfast, there was 2 buffet options. We unfortunately, chose the Railhead. The dirty scumbag at the front told us we could sit anywhere that wasn't covered in dirty plates. We finally located a spot. He said he'd get us a waitress. He didn't. We went to get food. Barely anything left, but we were told the kitchen was closed down and so we were stuck with what was out there. Since we were starving and had already walked away from the only other option in town, we tried to make the best of it. My girlfriend ate 4 stale, gross french toast sticks. I chewed and spit out some of the most disgusting breakfast sausage of my life. The buffet area was a disaster..it looked like a bomb went off. Almost all of the trays were empty and what was left I wouldn't feed my dog. A lady was arguing with the host at the front about not paying. The waitress came over when we were ready to walk out to finally take my order for coffee. We walked out, because we were on vacation and neither of us were in the mood to argue, we had barely touched our food. We didn't pay. We walked into some gift shops. Although I've never "dine and dashed" I didn't feel too bad about it. Walking back, the waitress and the host were standing out front smoking and said "forgot something?" and said they would call the cops on us if we didn't pay the bill. Although I wanted to tell them to go to hell, we paid and left as to not ruin our vacation. Whatever you do, don't set foot in this place. I hope it burns to the ground.

One bite and I was done. My daughter would not even touch her sandwich. I honestly can't remember eating in a place this bad

We went to see the Heads and had lunch here. They had only been open for three day and are owned by new, wonderful people. The buffet doesn't open until Memorial Day. Our hot sandwich was great and the service was great. Ignore the one star reviews as the restaurant is owned by another manager.

Worst service ever. Waitress who doesn't know the menu. She claimed that she just walked in. That's not an excuse. If you don't know the menu, ask the cook or someone who knows. When I ask I need a moment to decide, do not stand over and hover me. That's very annoying. Needless to say, she never returned. Only the cook whom I initially greeted me was helpful and understanding. Avoid this house of horror.

I give it 2 stars because my waitress was nice. Buffet is overpriced for what is offered. Menu item quality has also declined over the years. I only eat here as a last resort now.

This place used to be a lot better. I wish I could do less than a star. We've been here three times also. We brought my brother-in-law and his family and we were very embarrassed. They advertise and have a light up sign that says they have prime rib. Didn't see any. The buffet used to have a carving station. We were told they don't do that anymore. The meat that was on there, like the chicken, was way overdone. Potatoes were instant and were horrible. I got just the salad bar. It was just a small salad bar. The shredded cheese was kept on the counter instead of being kept cold. The rest of the food we got (we had 9 people in total) was bad. I would say that half of the food was never eaten. When we went to pay, the owner asked how things were. My husband told him point blank how it was. He gave us 20% off the entire meal, but it still cost us $80. He kept blaming everything on the economy. That's bull crap. Other places in town are awesome and very busy. Never going back again. I suggest you don't, either.

Just went yesterday... oh, what a mistake. The only person that seemed to know what was going on was the lady that seated us, so she got us in the door. By the time we were seated, we knew more about the pricing of the salad bar than our waitress (that it's discounted when you add it to an entree). As for the entrees, I ordered the "tender cut pork loins." I guess "small, over cooked, dry, no flavor, and grisly pork loins" is too long to put on the menu. But they do come with some soggy/limp sweet potato fries, a commercially made dinner roll, and a small salad with a few pieces of frozen lettuce included (since you can't have all the lettuce be fresh). My wife picked the salmon, it was pretty dry and flavorless. The cut of fish was not worth the $18 price and was more fit for a sandwich with a fair amount of sauce. As for the staff, it seemed like our waitress' first night. She didn't seem to know the menu or basic procedures. Overall, I'm sure there are better places in Keystone to spend your money.

Just keep on walking, don't stop, don't let them entice you with their signs. This place BLOWS. Mediocre food, less than average choices, and the price is astronomical. Only go here if you simply want a bad meal at a high price. The reason we give them 2 stars is because the service was good and the seats were comfortable, but any seat can be comfortable after hiking all day.

This restaurant is the reason why I always check Yelp for reviews. Worst restaurant I've ever been to. The food was cold and disgusting. Nothing tasted like it should have, it was so bad I was in shock. The only thing we could even handle eating from the buffet were the dinner rolls. Do not go here under any circumstances. I can't believe an establishment like this can even remain in business.
