First - if you are booking via tripadvisor - beware. The operator for our booking promised things that were completely untrue. This hotel - unless you are a super walker is not w/in walking distance of the main strip. If you ask for the room that backs to the creek and they say "OH Yes - we can definitely do that" don't believe them. This is a great spot. Clean rooms, comfy beds and a very quaint casino - BUT - it is at the dead end (no pun intended) of the city limits - or casino limits. Definitely not walkable - especially if you plan on partaking of some adult beverages. There is a trolley that stops by and takes you to the main strip. We were able to check in early but our promised "creekside room" was an outside access room facing the parking lot. Thankfully they weren't fully booked and they were able to move us to a creekside room - which is wonderful! Listening to the babbling creek as I write this review. Free breakfast was very good. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Highly recommend Deadwood Gulch!

Fair fare. Nothing fancy but better than any chain. The staff was nice, prices ok and the place was clean. They need to add a "wow" item to the menu. They are in Deadwood, play up the old west and cowboy theme! Dazzle the tourists who drove way out there with something different.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last week. We both were pleasantly surprised. Rooms are nice and clean with comfortable beds. The air conditioner in the room worked perfect. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The best continental breakfast I've never had at a hotel. The little restaurant connected to the hotel is wonderful with a back patio that has a view of the babbling Creek! If you ever go to Deadwood again this would be the place to stay.

We stayed here while visiting So. Dakota on a bus tour from California. The room was basic, but adequate. The small casino is dated and very small. We had a room beside the creek and that was a nice touch. We were given a free breakfast at the restaurant next to the hotel and the food was outstanding.

My wife and I stay here every year. I like it because it is always clean. The beds are comfy and they give you plenty of pillows, which I love. The staff is very courteous. Has a nice little casino. And the free breakfast is great! Although I do order a little extra. If you want to go downtown, take the trolley for a $1 a person. Ask for a room with a view of the creek running behind the hotel. It's great to open the window and fall asleep to the sound of the water. Can't wait to come back.
