I ate at this place about a week ago and it was pretty tasty with a good atmosphere. their pizza was good and even offered beer on the drink menu. I would deffinetly go back

George's features a newly remodeled dining area. They are most well known for their pizza, but their menu has a wide variety of food. The gyros are excellent and some of their pasta dishes are very good as well. But their pizza is far and away their best feature. I recommend the pan pizza, but they also offer a thin crust. They also have a lunch buffet every day, which I believe costs $8 Monday through Friday. The buffet usually only has two or three different pizzas out at a time, which can be frustrating, but it has an assortment of different salads and other food items. A favorite destination for many people in Brookings

Off the chain! I travel every week and look for locally owned gems and we have a Diamond here in Brookings, SD. I had the buffet $7.99- great value- they make a Gyro pizza with cucumber sauce that is crazy best 'white sauce' pizza I've ever had. I am from NY and I don't take my pizza lightly but George's is alright with me! Next it was Wednesday so the special was spaghetti and meatballs. Well I was more than surprised at his homemade sauce that was rich and hearty all by itself. The meatballs were decent but I wanted that sauce so I didn't pay them much attention. :) If you are in SD and near this place ots worth the look. I wouldn't be surprised if a Guy from 'Triple D' showed up here soon. Still can't believe I am raving over a Greek/Italian spot in SOUTH DAKOTA! :)

I went to George's for the lunch buffet along with some co-workers that recommended it. We walked past the buffet on the way to our table which gave me a chance to scope out what all was on it. I guess it's called a buffet since you serve yourself. Certainly not because of the numerous options available. Shortly after sitting down, I observed an unattended child stick her finger in the dessert pizza then put that same finger in her mouth. I was ready to walk out at that point, but couldn't. The salad bar portion of the buffet is really lacking. Pretty much only had lettuce, cheese and dressing to put on your salad, although they had a couple of variations of over dressed pasta salads. The pizza was alright. I'm a thin crust guy and all the pizzas on the buffet had thick pan crust. All the pizzas I observed seemed pretty greasy. I opted to pass on the dessert pizza given the finger tasting kiddo from earlier. I'd say that the buffet was a little over priced given the number of options and the service was extremely slow. Not likely to visit again.

I was very disappointed in this restaurant. My coworkers and I, who are working in town for a short time, went to the George's expecting a small pizza joint. When we walked in, we realized it was a buffet. We asked for a menu and the waitress brought us some. We paged through and decided the buffet must be good since that is what everyone else was ordering. We were wrong. In addition, we sat for about ten minutes for the waitress to come back so we could tell her we were going to do the buffet (she admittedly told us she forgot about us). The buffet did not get filled almost the entire time we were there. The salad bar was out of several items and there were (maybe) two pizzas on the buffett at any given time. There was never any dessert pizza or basic favorites like cheese or pepporoni. The spaghetti was also out. They put cheese on top of the toppings, so every pizza looks the same and you have no idea what you are grabbing. This place might have had a different review if it were in the proper price point: about $5 for a buffet. We were very disappointed and most of us left still hungry. I won't come back or recommend this place to others.

Literally the best drunken pizza i have ever had. Get smashed downtown brookings, and enjoy some georges.
